My state has over 40 fires, some huge. The new virus cases hit a state record of 5670 in one day. Trump is having a rally here today where the church falsely claims the air filters will stop the virus, and there are no masks or distancing and mayor says they will not enforce the mask law. My neighbor this morning said virus will stay same until vaccine and masks are being pushed by the left and he refuses masks. Day four (or is it five? )sinus headache from allergies, and 111 today.
hope your day is much better.
my county today...and at least double this because we have been bad on testing and you have to think you are sick to get one.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Cute little tomatoes. Amen to good drinking water. Hope things went well with the eye doc and you're on your way to normal. I hope you get some rain today. It started raining late morning here. The radar looks like it could be with us for a while and then off and on for the afternoon.
Becky, when is your rescheduled appointment? Good luck finding someone to cut back your tree branches. We had that problem at the other house and finally had to hire a tree company to take a few down. Hopefully we won't have the same problem here because the trees that would be in the way are not on our land.
Yea on the budding beans and cukes, Denise. Hope you had a quiet night at work and will have the same tonight.
Kathy, I'm hearing not-so-good covid things from FL. We aren't slowing down much either, but you have more people to get infected there. I saw something about several large cities rolling back the reopenings and I think I heard masks are now mandatory in public places in Orange County. At this rate, I have to wonder if the theme parks are going to be able to open next month. What are you hearing? How is WW going for you?
Things don't look good there either, Linda, and your state has a couple of Trump events today. I wonder if the turnout will be more than in Tulsa. I would steer clear of that neighbor as he is most clearly a health threat. And you still are dealing with the fires. I hope you don't have anywhere you need to go today. DM's doc told her the same trick about Restasis. WOW on puzzle! That was a challenge. Sorry about your continuing headaches. Yesterday's grocery trip sounds very successful. I'm not a chicken eater, but I've heard about some people who start in on one of those Costco chickens as soon as they get to their car, so they must be good. Oops on the bagels and cream cheese! Especially the bagels. I hope your day is just ducky.
Liz, hope the week is going well and everyone at your house remains healthy.
Busy morning here. I did a stint on the rowing machine, showered, and got to work in the kitchen. Arya has 4 days of breakfasts. I have a batch of grain-free granola that should last me several weeks. I dry-sauted shiitakes. I also cleaned out the freezer from the side-by-side and it all went into the new compost bin. This afternoon I plan to drain 4 tinctures that I made last month that will be good if I get covid with symptoms, but are also good for other ailments. I will put broccoli in the IP for Dale for dinner and no idea what else I may get into.

I wasn’t nearly as busy as you two. I went to the ophthalmologist and came home and out a lasagna in the oven. It is a traditional family lasagna with 5 cheeses, no cottage cheese, please.
The doctor agreed with PCP that it is nodular episcleritis. I have to put steroid drops in my eye every 2 hours for 2 days and then 4x per day going forward. I go back next Tuesday.
My zip code is one of 3 in the county with rising numbers of the virus. Sigh!
We had a little rain this morning. Better than nothing.
I hope Arizona’s fires calm down and people wake up to the dangers of the virus.
Puerto Rico got hit with the Sahara dust. I hope it misses the Southwest.

Changed post,,,DH exaggerated. Neighbor believes virus but not masks. We do not get close to anybody!
wow, no idea what that is Chele, but I hope that fixes it. Lasagne sounds good. we would not know the difference on dust...except ours tends to be clay based and sticks!
U of M refused second debate Because of virus which is now going to Miami. So the South and AZ are where you take germs?

From healthline.com
Episcleritis refers to inflammation of your episclera, which is a clear layer on top of the white part of your eye, called the sclera.
The main symptom of episcleritis is redness in usually one or occasionally both eyes. There are two types of episcleritis, and they look slightly different from each other:
Simple. Redness in a section and sometimes throughout the eye with minimal discomfort. Nodular. Slightly raised bumps surrounded by dilated blood vessels, usually in one area of the eye, that may cause discomfort.
While simple and nodular episcleritis look slightly different, they share many of the same symptoms, including: tearing sensitivity to bright light a hot, prickly, or gritty sensation in the eye

Chele, we are fortunate to have good water here. I hope the eye drops clear things up quickly. I've had to use steroid drops for other problems and they usually work pretty fast. They said we're getting prettier sunrises and sunsets from the Sahara dust, but it hasn't affected us otherwise so far. I have also not been as busy as some people! I feel like I'm spending so much time on things I didn't use to think about like groceries and supplies. I guess I am doing double duty with DM's orders too as opposed to just taking her with me in the good ol' days when we went to the store. I didn't have any luck with the CVS app. It's not supported on any of my devices. Linda, it seems like our states are in competition for the biggest spike in new cases and for bringing large events in to the state. Interesting that your numbers are also showing a spike in the younger population. The median age for my county has dropped to 29! The state is at 35 which is pretty low too. Karen, the cases here aren't slowing down and are really hitting the younger people right now. The Knight's Pub is the bar I was talking about where a bunch of people tested positive after going there. Their liquor license was just suspended due to 28 patrons and 13 employees testing positive. I'm guessing the number is a lot higher than that with a lot of people not having symptoms and getting tested. Opening bars with no real precautions is one of the stupidist things they've done so far. What were they expecting to happen? The good news is the new heat map doesn't look as bad as the previous one, so the new cases are slowing down in my zip code. Orange County made masks mandatory starting last Saturday. Most of the theme parks are already open with the exception of Disney and they plan to reopen next month. I saw where some employees are petitioning them to postpone the reopening. WW is helping me keep on track. I'm still down about 5 lbs since March, but haven't lost more. We had a crazy lightning storm last night and I'm afraid it may have fried DM's AT&T modem. Her tv and internet runs off of it, so she is not happy. This is the 2nd time she's had issues with AT&T recently. The first one was when her DVR hard drive failed. I came across an FSU alumni article on Val and Jerry Demings. They were both there when I was there, but didn't meet each other until later.
Waving to Becky, Liz, and Denise.

I just saw where they have now linked 152 new cases to the Knight's Pub, so that accounts for a lot of the new cases in my zip code.

Chele, I hope you don't have to get up every 2 hours at night for drops. Talk about no sleep! I looked up what your PCP said it was, so I was aware. But I still was cringing reading your descriptive post. The lasagna sounds good. I haven't had that in a couple of years. No cottage cheese here either. I heard numbers were going up in Ohio again. Hope you can stay home and stay safe. Our numbers are up here as well. In fact, TN is up almost 800 cases since yesterday and Knox County jumped over 100 cases and Sevier County about 80 cases since yesterday.
Didn't see any masks on people waiting to get into the Trump rally. And they are misting aerosolized water over the crowd to keep them cool. That should elevate the numbers, since that is how the virus spreads. Did you see the big deal the church people were making about the special air filtration system that they said would kill 99.9% of covid germs? Then I heard something from an expert that it's all hype and won't work. There will be a lot of sick people out of that event, even if the crowds are relatively low. The fires should calm down but, if your people are like ours here, I don't see them suddenly taking the virus seriously. I just wish the virus only afflicted the idiots.
Kathy, I'm happy to hear that your water is good. I had a friend in Tampa/St. Pete that I visited in the mid 70s and their water was so full of sulfur that I couldn't smell it much less drink it. Not good news on the CVS app. Can you get your Rx transferred to some place in a part of town that might not be as affected? Do I remember that the Saraha dust also tends to keep the threat of a hurricane or tropical storm lower than usual? Yay on some teeth to the law that is shutting down Knight's Pub.Too bad a lot of those numbers are in your zip code. I didn't realize the other theme parks are open already. Are they requiring that people wear masks all the time? They are at Dollywood unless you are on a ride or are in one of the "mask free" zones they have designated. But it's much smaller than any of the themeparks there. Congrats on maintaining your loss. I remember when your DM had her DVR issue. Sorry about the modem. Are you able to get a tech out or will they send a new modem and you can talk her through the install? Did you have any issues from the storm? Did either of you lose power? We had a couple of flickers during a storm a little while ago but that was all. Given the size of FSU, unless Val and Jerry had classes together, it's not a surprise that they may not have known each other until later on. Did you know either of them when you were there? Matthew McConaughey was at UT Austin when I was there but our paths never crossed.

Got rid of headache mostly. Did three loads of laundry..hanging outside, dog walk, mopped three floors, and changed batteries in front walk solar lights...all that sun useful for something. The mayor begged people to mask.but no, there they are as early as 6 AM for Trumo to arrive at worst heat at three...112. Hope they know how to treat heat stroke. The air scrubbers do kill germs, but the virus is spread from the person's breathe right next you! Scientific knowledge would help a lot of people. But like dogs, they only associate two things if they are one right after the other. Virus will come later. If Darwin doesn't work, we can hope for karma.

Karen, our water comes from the Florida aquifer which runs underground. The coastal water is usually surface water and can be pretty nasty. The sulfur smell may have been from well water. A friend of mine has that and I can't stand it either. I will try calling the pharmacy first and see if they can fix it. It's just entering a phone # on their website, so this is pretty ridiculous, but it sounds like Chele ran into the same thing.
The theme parks are requiring masks, but I don't know how much they're enforcing it once people are inside the park. Universal is the largest one that's open. I don't know for sure if the modem is the issue. It could be the line. She wants DS to look at it first since they had the same modem. We didn't lose power which was surprising with all the lightning. All of us had different majors at FSU, so not surprising that we didn't meet. I remember having a class in the theater building when Burt Reynolds was doing some lectures there, but I never managed to run into him.

Linda, Trump keeps tweeting that if we had less testing, we'd have less cases. Someone replied, and if you stop weighing yourself, you stop gaining weight!

Thanks for the start Chele. One thing I do a lot of is keeping hydrated.
Linda OMG on 40 fires. I heard that about the mega church.I was dumbfounded anyone would even claim they could do that. What church is he speaking at?Guv Abbott had a news conference yesterday saying our increase in cases was unacceptable but does he change anything.NO. Leaves it to local counties and our county leaders must think it won't help because they continue to do anything.
Karen We finally got some rain this morning. It stopped by lunch and as humid as it is we are hoping the 2nd round they are predicting will come this evening. My appointment is tomorrow at 11:00.They are only open Mon,Wed and Fri since Covid struck. We already had one man come out here and cut back limbs and the technician cut as many as he could yesterday in that terrible heat and humidity but these are on the roof.
Chele Of course no cottage cheese in the lasagna.I don't know what that dx is but it doesn't sound good.We are supposed to be getting the Saharan dust also. Thanks for the explanation but still doesn't sound good.
Kathy You are doing well maintaining a loss during shutdown.I love that tweet.I couldn't believe he said what he did at the last rally.I told Kenneth after watching that rally I didn't want to watch another one of those things.
