Quick check in. Cloudy day with nice temps, low humidity. It was a Kroger day. Less and less people are wearing masks and yet our zip code is one of the few with increasing cases. Gee, I wonder why.
Have a good Wednesday.

Good afternoon Chicks,
This is the busy hermit stopping in to say hello!
Chele - certainly hope the eye drops work and help with the issue. I am aware of the rising numbers throughout many areas and all I can do is shake my head. Additionally, I got on the subway this morning and there were 3 people with no masks at all!! Lasagna sounds like great comfort food to me! Please take care and stay safe!
Linda - Yikes on the neighbor and the masks. I can't believe how many people just don't seem to care or get it...even if they don't care about themselves; they can all too easily transmit to others! Love the photos in your posts. Hope the fires and weather calm down for you!
Kathy - CRAZY Fla. folks is all I'm going to say; truly outrageous numbers coming out of some of your counties. The tri-state area is returning the travelers quarantining to anyone coming into the area from places that meet certain bad criteria. Hope you, DM and the family are all doing well and keeping safe.
Becky - how are the knees? Hope things are good with the fur babies and Kenneth! More bad numbers from Texas as well. Young people just not caring I guess.
Denise - hope work is going well and all is quiet.
Karen - congrats on the house!! One less thing to burden you and glad to hear that Dale is going back to work if that makes him happy. I have to scoot as I am getting on another webex at 3:pm. Please take care and be well and safe! The city and hospital are once again becoming busy and a bit chaotic with the opening of the new building coming Aug. 2nd.
Ciao for now dear ladies!

Chele, thanks for the start. No lap swimming here today. It's maddening that people won't take precautions. How is the eye doing today?
Liz, Florida has always been crazy, but we're really living up to our reputation. We are all trying to stay safe, but these recent numbers are really scary. Good to hear from you as always and hope the rest of the week goes well.
I did another round of grocery shopping for DM today. Her sister is having some allergy issues, so decided not to come tomorrow just to be cautious. Some of DM's neighbors also had their AT&T service knocked out by the storm the other day and they said the technician couldn't fix it. Hoping that's not the case for DM since she needs her internet and TV! They are sending someone out tomorrow.
Waving to all. Have a good evening.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Is that an Anaheim pepper I see? You are correct that mask wearing seems to be decreasing as cases increase. Why are so many people missing that connection? The only place I don't wear a mask is picking up the CSA order and it's outdoors and takes less than 30 seconds. Did you get everything you needed at Kroger? Swim a Lap Day? I did my part as long as you use the term "lap" figuratively. I did an out and back of almost 1/2 mile. Water temp was upper 70s, so perfect.
Denise, how did you do picking strawberries yesterday? Did you get some good ones? Will you eat them plain or do you have other plans for them?
Hello, Liz! Glad you got to stop by. We have 932 new cases in TN since yesterday and it's not all increased testing because that's not increasing much. All local counties are up and Sevier County will probably hit 500 cases tomorrow. No masks. No social distancing. No surprise. Not out of the woods yet on the other house, but hopefully this time will be "the one". I can't believe you're stuck with opening yet another new building. At least it's not during the height of the pandemic. What is special about this building?
Linda, I have a lot of those "I don't feel like doing anything" days, but I always end up doing something. Hope you managed not to, especially with the heat. What's the local take on last night's church rally? Do you know when the museum might be open again?
How did PT go, Becky? Have they heard from insurance about more visits? I heard TX set a record on covid cases and heard Austin mentioned. I hope things are a bit quieter in your area. I finally cut into the sugar baby melon and it's not that good. No flavor and no sweetness. Isn't that how your yellow melon was? I'll probably juice it and mix it with herb teas or something. Definitely not worth the $8 I paid for it.
Kathy, I heard FL mentioned as the "new epicenter". Are they scaling back any in your area or are they just going to let people get infected? I don't blame your aunt for canceling if she doesn't feel 100%. Is this the NSB one? Sounds like AT&T has a systemic problem in your DM's neighborhood. Hope they can get it fixed for everyone. It would drive me nuts to be without TV and internet for even 1 day. Is this Day 3 for her? Fingers crossed they can fix it quickly for her. They are predicting we will get some of the Saharan dust on the weekend. It usually doesn't get this far north.
I got an email from the state master gardener coordinator this morning and they want to do a video at our MG garden for an August training session to be broadcast across the state. While they are here, we will also be presented with an award we won for best youth program for our summer Lunch 'n' Learn series that we won't be able to do this year. The video will go up on YouTube after it airs so I will post the link for any of you who want to see our garden. Osteo tomorrow and then I'm going to brave TJ's. If the parking lot looks crazy, I may drive in and right back out. But there are a few things I can only get there, so I hope it won't be too crowded. Then I plan to stop at the sushi place and hopefully will get lucky and they will have a nice selection. It will be about 2:30, so I don't know if they will have much available.

Karen, great about the video.
Kathy...I think our states are in a horrid competition for the stupid title. But we are still on fire and 111.
Liz, good luck on the new building.
Insomnia and then slept til ten. But I did go to the local bookstore nearby that just opened..,required masks, hand sanitizer at door, easy to stay away from people, plexiglass register you step away from while stuff is checked out And I used the sanitizer when I left. So nice to look at new stuff slowly that is nit groceries. life is so different and for old people will just be different a long time. Saw that 80% of country thinks it will withstand or get over virus just fine, what mask up? I guess no body cares about old people. Cuts taxes for SS and Medicare? So I Got a book “letting go of the person you used to be” Buddhist. Might as well be a monk. Only DH's sisters back East call once in while, not my family here.
hmmm...got cloudy! Heat dropped to 101 so Micki got a short walk.

Thanks for the start Chele. Karen can swim my lap for me.I don't understand why people can't be inconvenienced for a few minutes while they are shopping. We have another death in our county.
Linda Some days I feel like that picture.
Liz It's good to see you popping in.I can't believe people on the subway not wearing masks. The knee is sore and tight after PT today. It is straighter though so I am getting there eventually.Everyone is fine here.Yes TX numbers are out of sight.People going to bars mostly and also daycare.
Karen PT went fine but I am more sore than normal after PT but it has been a week since I have been. Since Covid started most insurances haven't required pre-authorizations and they are thinking it will be the same this time.Yes TX cases are up and we have a spineless governor and county leaders aren't any better. The reason the first watermelon didn't have much flavor was it wasn't ripe. The cantaloupe has been wonderful and probably Friday we will cut open the 2nd watermelon.
