Good morning WW friends. Slept well and never woke up once Gotta love that. Sad to report that the battery in my Garmin died last night. I just recorded my steps in the WW app and the face when black. Will go with Carl today to replace the batteries. I need a few things there so will do a quick sweep of the store and call it a day. Hopefully it won't be crowded!

Happy to report Carl found a battery for my Garmin. Now I'm up and walking 😋.
I must say the air feels better than it has been. Not as cool as I like it but I'll accept the change.
Later. More coffee is needed to recharge my battery!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! We had a picture perfect day yesterday and another one promised today. We woke to temps in the mid-60's with a predicted high of 80. Love it!! Unfortunately, it is going to warm up over the weekend, and then be near-90 all next week! Last evening DH and I took advantage of the opportunity to sit outdoors for a while and listen to the birdsong and laugh at the squirrel antics in our big apple tree.
The pizza and salad supper was terrific! It really hit the spot in so many ways. I also slept very well. Went to bed at 10 p.m. and woke just before 6:30 which is near perfect. Today I have some of this 'n that to do, then take DH to pick up his truck (sometime). The guy got the part and put it on, but it needs to be hooked to a computer to bleed the brakes, and his friend is bringing one this morning, then it should be done. I am crossing my fingers everything goes as anticipated.
We had toasted English muffins with peanut butter, HB egg and fruit bowl for breakfast. Tonight is our dinner with the kids. I got a text from Cal last evening that they were looking forward to it so very much .... and so are we!! It will be a grand time!!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue so happy you and DH were able to enjoy sitting out. LOVE when that happens. We sat out also later at night. Just still too hot to eat supper out there.
I'm sure 'dinner with the kids' will be a wonderful time.
My laundry is done as well as bathrooms and kitchen cleaned and floor swept. That's it for me for today.
Also all planned and tracked. Had FF Greek yogurt with blueberries and strawberries with all bran on top and a graham cracker with peanut butter. Lunch will be tuna salad on a Lavash with pickles and a few chips, and supper we are having pork chops, SF applesauce rice and steamed veggies. I have petite baby carrots and hummus to munch on as I see fit.
Waving..........

I just had a morning from H-E-L-L. My heart and breathing are just starting to slow down...
I had to run to the P.O. to mail a birthday card for Sebastien. I opened all my kitchen windows to get some fresh air into the house since it’s such a beautiful day. My doggies Doug and Daisy were at the window as they always are when I left. I’ve done this before.
I came home in less than 15 minutes. There were three ladies (aka guardian angels) in my driveway holding my precious little Daisy. They found her up on Route 140 – a major route near my house – loads of big trucks and lots of traffic!!!! She was sitting at the edge of the road! She had clawed her way through the screen in a panic and dove out the window. Doug was standing looking out of the torn screen barking like mad. The worse part, too, is that the dogs were groomed on Monday, and we had taken off their regular collars and name tags. The ladies went door to door until they saw Doug “hollering” out the window. I owe these wonderful ladies so much. One of the said she is an animal rescue person who also boards dogs and she said she would have taken Daisy home until she reached me. Daisy has not yet calmed down and it’s been over an hour. The other weird thing is that our smoke alarm started beeping while I was gone to alert us to put in new batteries. I am wondering if that high pitch along with the separation anxiety caused her to go through the screen. DH said she saw me leave and heard the alarm and said “I’d better vacate the property – there’s going to be a fire!” DH was also not home – checking on an Eversource project in Medford.
So, my heart and my doggies hearts need a rest today. If you saw how busy my area is with cars, you’d understand my shock that she made it back. I'll be back soon.

Oh Judy ..... how terrifying!! Though we don't have any pets right now, I did for many years and have had more than my share of those heart-stopping moments! You are right that those three ladies are truly ANGELS! Hope things calm down at your house now.
DH got his truck back! I had an underlying fear that he might not but I'm glad I didn't dwell on that (or tell him). Sometimes I tend to fret about things whether I can do anything about them or not. So when he called me to tell me the truck was done, and the guy was going to drive it into the Coney, that was the best news! DH brought my car home and I drove him back to the Coney and there was his truck! What a sight for sore eyes!! And I didn't have to make the drive out to the boonies to retrieve it.
Michigan voted in an insurance reform this past year, effective July 2nd. I don't know if any of you heard, but we had the highest insurance rates in the whole country! They really were out of sight. I decided to drop mine due to the changes, and called a former local insurance company we used to do business with. They were able to lower mine by 1/3! My current policy with The Hartford said I could "adjust"my coverage at my next renewal date (which isn't until January) so I changed companies completely. No reason to pay the higher rate for six more months, plus the company I went back to is cheaper overall. I have been online with my agent, and sending her copies of our Medicare cards, etc. I hope to have this wrapped up in the next few days. Yay!!

OMH Judy. My heart goes out to you as well as to D&D. I SO believe on guardian angels, and you were sent two.
In your shoes, I would most definitely have a low key day. You've more than earned it.
Took a short walk. It's all LuLa and I could stand.
Will pop in later.

Good afternoon! I never made it here yesterday and see that I missed a lot. We were up and out early to my periodontist appointment in BTR. The news wasn't good. The probable reason why the pocket won't close up is that the tooth has a cavity developing below the gum and it is probable that it will eventually have to be pulled. She and my regular dentist will discuss what, if anything, can be done and someone will contact me. I told her if they could delay it another 25 years or so, I would be happy and she laughed. Afterwards, DH and I made a quick grocery stop and then headed home. We had a late lunch and I took a short nap in the lazyboy. We had a thunderstorm and afterwards, I went for a walk, since it had cooled off quite a bit. We had chicken fajitas, guacamole and of course, corn & tomatoes for our dinner. I skipped the tortilla and enjoyed the chicken, peppers and onions. We were both tired and turned in early. Today, I was ready to walk when it started raining, so I rode the recumbent bike for 15 minutes and then was able to walk after the shower had passed. We have had lots of thunderstorms this week, including a tornado not far from the periodontist's office yesterday at 5:00 am which damaged office buildings, at least one house and picked up a Suburban and moved it over a fence and nearly onto the interstate. There was a smaller tornado in the afternoon near where my younger brother farms that only damaged farm crops, thank goodness. We've had another 2 storms today, that brought down limbs and caused the electricity to go off and on a couple times. We've had lots of rain, but no damage, thank goodness. The news is reporting 30,000 without power due to the storms this afternoon. Tomorrow, the Saharan desert storm arrives and the Air Quality Index indicates it will be unhealthy to exercise outdoors tomorrow due to the dust and the higher ozone level it induces. I guess that means the recumbent bike for me, unless I can get in a short walk right after a rain shower. I just don't care to fill my lungs with sand and lord knows, I breathe hard when I walk, lol. I sent an older picture of our "Green Room" and will try to get a newer one tomorrow. This time of year, with the bamboo, ginger, camelia and banana plants and the branches of the pecan tree hanging down, it is almost like a room with green walls. This is our favorite spot to sit and enjoy an evening breeze. I scored some fresh cherries, a favorite of mine, when we shopped yesterday and I enjoyed some with my yogurt this morning. Lunch was leftover fajita chicken and tomato, corn, cucumber & avocado salad. Dinner will be shredded beef au jus over baked potato, beets and cucumber, tomato & onion salad which is marinating in Garlic Expressions dressing. The scale, which had been inching downward, is inching back up. Tractor Supply, in spite of the name, has some nice decorating and gardening items (Yes, wind chimes!) and is fun to browse. It also has lots of supplies for pets. The shepherd's hook I bought to add a hanging plant to the green room is much sturdier than the ones I got at Walmart. They also have children's toys, especially farm animals and that's where I found Leah's sheep ornament at Christmas. New CV cases for the past 3 days have been 1300+, 800+ and 900+. At this rate, I am not sure we would be able to travel to MI in a couple of months. I certainly don't want to bring it to DD3 and family. Judy - I am so glad D & D are safe! How terrifying!!! Thank heavens those ladies intervened! In Daisy's defense, a beeping smoke alarm makes me want to run away, too. Sue - Glad your DH's truck is back on the road. It would seem fair The Hartford should send at least part of your premium back to you, but who knows what all that fine print on an insurance contract entails. I have read that many companies (not ours!) have sent rebates since people aren't driving nearly as much as normal. Ann - What is "Lavash"? A type of bread? It's a smart idea to get a few extra steps in while in a store with AC.

Pam so sorry for your storms. Praying that y'all stay safe! I don't blame you for staying put tomorrow. I wouldn't want to be out in that kind of weather and air quality. Your chicken peppers and onions sound good.
Lavash is a flat bread put out by Joseph's. It's flax, oat bran and whole wheat. They are big sheets. I use the entire sheet, but some cut them in half. The entire sheet on blue is 2 points. I stuff them with my hummus lettuce red roasted peppers and sometimes a piece of baby bell light cheese or laughing cow cheese depending on what I feel like and I nuke it for 20 seconds. It's very good. Theh entire sheet has 12 grams of protein which really stands by you. Joseph's also makes a pita bread with the same ingredients. Those are 1 pt a each on blue.
Time to get comfy cozy.
Sweet dreams, all!

Ann - It says my local Walmart stocks Joseph's Lavash and Pita, so I will have to look for them.
Judy - I forgot you had asked what I'm reading. My audio book is Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane and is very good. My other book is A Summer Affair by Elin Hilderbrand, who is one of my favorite authors. I haven't gotten too far into it yet, so I don't know whether I like it or not.
I watched Lady Sings the Blues tonight, which I have seen several times. I love Billie Holliday's music, but her story is a sad one. Diana Ross was excellent as Billie and got an Oscar nomination for it.
Past time to get to bed! Sweet dreams!
