Good morning all. Another good sleeping night. It's supposed to be a tad cooler here today. Unfortunately their idea of cooler and mine are very different. So long as there is less sunshine and a breeze I'm all for it, and will walk accordingly.
It did cool off last night and Carl and I were able to sit out in the screen room. Such a pretty evening. Miss LuLa enjoyed it as well
Pam I absolutely LOVED that movie and saw it a few times myself. Very sad but as you said Dianna Ross did an excellent job.
Need to sit and play my day. Yesterday started out well in the food department....however I did a lot of snacking. For some reason I was extra hungry. Never had the problem where it's been 'too hot to eat'

Hi All, Ann, I just can’t relate to that “too hot” to eat crowd, either! 🤣. I have a friend who says on weekends, she forgets to eat some meals ! Whaaaat?! As soon as I finish, breakfast I’m planning lunch but in a much healthier way lately. New resolve! 💪. Last night I ordered a pizza for DH and I had a big bowl of my ratatouille topped with fresh parmigiana cheese. For some reason, I tamed that inner rascal for one meal at least. I agree, too, that this is not cool weather by any stretch yet, Ann! We’ll be at the Cape tonight and that will definitely be cooler. My work friend and her home builder husband are coming tomorrow for a brief time - social distancing so he can see the house, take measurements, etc and start working in a cost estimate. Fingers crossed. DD and I had a good phone call with her attorney. She has spent a good deal of time estimating what her ex owes DD and it is a great deal of money as he has been sneaky and hidden his assets and bonuses. She’s doing a good job and we feel much better. Another motion has been filed and sent to his attorney.we have to learn to be patient. After that chilling scary doggy escape yesterday, I was finally able to calm down with my ukulele singalong. I love it and I’m amazed at what just one hour of playing and singing does for my mental health. Sue, I’m glad you renegotiated your auto insurance and that your DH got his truck fixed and back on the road. I didn’t realize Michigan car insurance rates were so high. We always thought Massachusetts had very high rates especially if you live in the city. I don’t think anywhere is too cheap anymore!
Pam, I really loved the looks of your green room getaway. You must spend a lot of time there peacefully reading and chatting. It’s nice to be able to envision where you are and to see what a pretty secret garden you’ve created.
My DH has created a beautiful garden all around our outdoor patio at the Cape. Different flowers are blooming from May through September and it is really quite lovely. My friends call at the Secret Garden because it has so much privacy. If the weather cooperates, that’s where I spend the bulk of my leisure time when I’m there. We have a fire pit and we sit out there in the evenings as well especially when our family is gathered. I’m very sad that will have no visitors this year as our summer is often bigger than our Christmas time with family gathered. We have no plans for the Fourth of July and no big family party of course. DH and I are already dreading those darn fireworks because they send the dogs into high anxiety. I don’t mind them on July 4, but they go on night after night for a long time. They are illegal here and some of the displays over the water are so huge they look like big city fireworks. If they didn’t make so much noise, I probably love them! There were already fireworks two weeks ago on the weekends.
Have a great day everyone. I’m off to track my days food and have my coffee. I slept until 8 o’clock today!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! We have another cool morning but it promises to be a hot one. I have not walked in ages, so I think I better get out there this morning. It will feel good to walk and I need that.
We had a wonderful evening last night with the kids. They picked us up and we drove a half hour to the restaurant. Meg had called ahead and put us on priority seating, so we didn't have to wait. In case you've never heard of Black Rock - it is a steakhouse where you actually cook your own steak right at the table. Everyone gets a heated stone and condiments on their own tray. We all had the sirloin and two sides and we had a coupon for a free dessert. We ordered the brownie and thought we'd get a bite or two each, but when they brought it, it looked like a small pan of brownies - with 2 scoops of ice cream on top. So we came home absolutely stuffed! We managed to fill the entire evening with memories and laughter and catching up and by the time we got home it was almost bedtime. We plan to get together again when the eldest comes home around the 4th of July for a 2 week visit.
I still need to track yesterday and plan & track today. I also hope to finish up my new insurance policy today and then cancel the current one effective July 2nd. I also have a Meijer shopping list that is growing in my phone, so I need to get there. DH used my car the past couple of days and now that he has his truck back, I need to catch up before the weekend. That should pretty well fill up my day.
BBL. Make a great day!!

LOL Judy...I've forgotten a LOT of things in life...but NEVER a MEAL. That is something that is just part of my DNA Just like in the dead of winter I can drink iced water and in the heat of summer bring on the chili I am also always thinking of food. Remember that song by the We Five? When I woke up this morning YOU were on my mind.... ? Well I changed those words LONG ago to When I woke up this morning FOOD was on my mind True story. I sing that every once in awhile and still crack myself up! One meal at a time works. Sounds like you enjoyed it! Hope you get a good estimate from your friend and her DH. Safe travels to the Cape and enjoy the cooler temps Glad that you are happy with the phone conversation with DD's attorney. Yup, patience is key....much easier said than done when it involves a loved one. Prayers continue. I bet your DH's garden is beautiful as well, Judy. I remember you mentioning that he so enjoys being outdoors with plants/gardens and such. There's most definitely a knack for that sort of thing. Fireworks are illegal here as well...but tell that to the people that shoot them off. The other night sounded like 4th of July! I don't mind them from a distance and luckily LuLa is not bothered by them. Luigi, on the other hand didn't care for them at all. I think they hurt his ears. Sue it sounds like you had a 'delicious' time with your friends. So happy that you plan on getting together again around the 4th of July I'm sure you'll all make some great memories. I took an early walk and will go again once the sun goes down. Still too hot for that sort of thing. Hope you enjoy yours. Happy shopping. Waving to Pam and will CBL

Good morning all, I was up late, reading and posting after the movie ended, and got up at 6:20 to get ready for 7:00 Mass, so I am not feeling very energetic today. DH made us fruit bowls with banana, strawberry, figs (from our tree!) and cherries. I had mine with yogurt and feel stuffed at the moment. I am debating getting in a walk since it is overcast and not too hot (79). The news report said the Saharan dust is 5000 ft. up, so I should be okay walking early before the ozone problems develop with the heat later in the day. I'm not sure what I will pull out of the fridge for lunch, but it is chock-full of one kind of leftover or another. Dinner will be something with shrimp. I am leaning toward shrimp stew, as we haven't had that in a long time and I can get rid of leftover brown rice in the fridge. Ann - I went to Wikipedia and reviewed what is there about Billie Holliday. Apparently, Lady Sings the Blues was VERY loosely based on her life. Louis McKay was a Mafia enforced and apparently abusive towards her. Any way you look at it she had a very colorful life. Sue - Your evening with "the kids" sounded perfect. It's good for everyone to reminisce about happy times and stay connected in the present. Judy - Here's hoping your DD's attorney can get things moving again. It is disgraceful how "deadbeat dads" can drag things on and on and suffer few, if any, consequences for depriving their children and making an ex-wife's life a living hell. Our society is definitely male-oriented. Enjoy your time at the Cape. I will think of you in your Secret Garden, while I spend time in my Green Room.

Pam your meals sound good. Also not feeling energetic today. Blaming mine on the heat and too much AC.
Intetesting about Billie Holiday's life.
Hope you get your walk in early.
My day is planned and tracked. Chicken tenders with rice mushrooms and peas for supper. Tuna salad rollup with cucumber and tomato salad for lunch and I had a cheese omelet with lite english muffin for breakfast. Snacks roasted almonds berry topped FF Greek yogurt and hummus with carrot sticks.

I did get in a walk and did 2 miles at a 16 minute per mile pace, which is tops for me. Maybe my WI (up .7) gave me extra energy. Now, I have vacuumed floors and am taking a break before mopping. Louisiana is reporting 1354 new CV cases today. DH and I have pretty much decided to go back to curbside pickup for groceries. Lots of the cases are in the BTR area, undoubtedly due to people going out to the many bars and restaurants and not following the rules. Hospitalizations and deaths are also up. I finished Ask Again, Yes and I do recommend it. It was well-written and, I think, very realistic. I will need to find a new one and download it before my walk tomorrow.

Hey again all,
Good to read all the catch up posts. I did get out and walked the dogs and chatted with a neighbor. I am enjoying the fact that folks have a little more time to visit these days from a distance. Lol
I pulled my chicken thighs out of the freezer and nuked one of them to have for my lunch along with more of my veggie ratatouille topped with parmesan. So good! I had hoped to make the chicken cacciatore today but I think I’ll lug it to the Cape and make it there. I don’t feel like heating up the kitchen today.
Sue, your dinner sounded wonderful and glad you enjoyed it and look forward to another visit. Great to see your DH’s VBF’s kids. We like those Hibachi type places, too, where you cook at your own table. They are tasty, fun and entertaining, too!
Pam, I loved that movie as well. Interesting to hear the back story and I also saw that it was going to be on last night but went to bed instead. It was a busy day! Good for you for getting out and walking early. That makes a big difference.
I finished my Hank Phillipi Ryan mystery and now I will start the Sweet Salt Air one that you read, Pam!
I’ll check in soon Getting an early start for the Cape so I have to scram!
Ann, the new lyrics to that song are right up my alley!!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
I finally got out for a walk today and enjoyed it very much. It was shortly before lunch and the sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. When I got home I warmed up the last serving of the WW Chili for my lunch. Since then I have been watching the Covid-19 Task Force briefing on TV. {{sigh}}
Judy ~ You and I apparently were posting at the same time. Great news from your DD's attorney! Sad about no visitors at the Cape this Summer. We feel like we're just adding to the list of things cancelled this year. Now the 4th of July parade and the Festival we have attended for 20+ years are cancelled as well. I guess we will make do with staying home and cooking baby back ribs. They will be delicious!
Ann ~ I've never 'forgotten' a meal either! and ditto on the hot/cold issue. I make and drink Sun Tea year round and always have. Sometimes I get stuck in a snacking rut and just have to ride it out til the next day.
Pam ~ There seems to be an increase in many states. I am certain the bars reopening contributed to it. There was one bar in E. Lansing that triggered an outbreak and every day the numbers just from that one bar keep going up, and DH read me another huge one this morning. With the tracking they are doing now, they are more able to see where the spread goes.
I am starting to feel like I am having to chase my insurance lady. She is apparently new(er), because I know the family that owns the agency but I don't know her. Every day I have to call her, and then she sounds like she has no idea who I am or why I am calling. I gave up my grocery shopping trip this afternoon because I called her and she is supposed to call me back but it's been well over an hour and nothing. Maybe I'll just go on to the grocery store. I really wanted to finalize this before the weekend.
BBL. Make a great afternoon.

Sue, that funny, but not funny about the insurance agent! She's not customer oriented if she forgets you so fast. LOL Glad you had a nice walk and sorry to hear about the COVID numbers rising. I am so glad we three are on the same page. Like you said, it's not rocket science! I had one of my book club members tell me that she hopes the youth continue to congregate to create a "herd immunity." Three of them believe that this will get rid of the virus but Dr. Fauci and many others say that this virus is way too contagious! THey(my 3 book club friends) actually hope all the youth interaction goes on even more so. The rest of the book club thinks like we do. Well, I hope they don't have contact with the infected youths. And I am hearing more about strokes and blood clots on people in their 30s, 40s and 50s. Ugh. I did not pursue the topic with them because it is useless. One of their sons lives nearby in CT and he has been going to the gym every day. Good luck with that one. THose places are breeding grounds even in good days. Well, I am probably overly cautious but I stand my ground. We decided to wait and drive to the Cape a little later tonight. Easier than rushing down now. I am finishing up laundry and I may make that chicken dish here after all. It's easier to bring all prepared and I have time now. I'll check in soon. Yes, Ann, I love all your great expressions!

Judy - The increase in cases in younger people with blood clots resulting scares me to death. Both DD3 and DSIL (DD1's DH) have had blood clots in the past and are considered high risk, per DD3's hematologist, who she saw this week. The problem with the "herd immunity" theory is that the younger people pass it on to their elders before they have symptoms and know they are sick. I agree with you on gyms. I am going to stay out of enclosed spaces with people outside my very small circle at least until the number of cases drops considerably.
Sue - The loss of traditional gatherings is one thing I find very hard. My siblings and our children get together only twice per year--Good Friday for a crawfish boil and Christmas Eve. We missed out on the first and it is doubtful that things will be good enough to have Christmas. It is hard to swallow, but there is no alternative, as I see it. I guess we'll just find other ways to make our holidays as special as we can. Poor service from your insurance lady, for sure. Hope you can "git 'er done" and not have to wait until Monday.
Ann - You are smart to get the laundry done, then you can relax all weekend. I am another who cannot fathom "forgetting" to eat.
I got all the floors cleaned, rugs washed and now I'm going to take it easy the rest of the day.

Sue how frustrating about your insurance gal. I have little patience for that sort of thing.
I am so sick and tired of listening to those that do not want to social distance or wear the mask. I guess Ron White is correct when he says you can't fix stupid.
Judy leaving later will more than likely make for a more enjoyable ride.
