Karen, thanks for the start. It's scorching hot out there and bright despite the haze in the sky.
Spoiler on Yesterday movie: I'd forgotten that Kate McKinnon was even in it, so her character definitely didn't impress me. I like Kate, but just not in that role. I agree giving the money to charity would've been much better. I did think the Beatles were supposed to exist before the memory loss since the other couple remembered them, plus John Lennon was real. I agree, the part with John was one of the best parts. I didn't really analyze the movie all that much, but just thought it was entertaining for the most part. The end left me wondering if he'd try to write the Harry Potter novels.
Linda, yikes on the Godzilla Saharan dust article from yesterday! The sky is still very hazy here, but the dust is about a mile up in the atmosphere and it looks pretty clear on the ground. We're moving into your territory with "feels like" temps up to 110. That's way too hot for me. The sunset yesterday was just hazy and grey. So much for the colorful sunsets they said we'd have. I'll have to take a look at that book.
Becky, that is so bizarre on the naked guy. I'm glad you didn't go out for a walk and see him! Sorry that you're still having pain.
Chele, hope the eye is improving.
Liz, hope your commute and work day are calm today.
Denise, are you off today or working? Hope you have a good day.

Becky, I hope the pain level is going down. I see Texas is closing some things down again. I think that might happen here in SW/West Central Ohio as cases go up. I am glad you missed the nudist on a swing. Having been exposed to a flasher (pun intended) when I was in my 20s, you are right about never unseeing that.
Karen, yay for sushi. Boo on the traffic jam yesterday. I have not seen a Scovill rating on Sweet Thing. We couldn't resist and tasted the green pepper and it had a great flavor with no burn. I like the the funkier Beatles as well like Let It Be and Lady Madonna. I think you would like the zucchini fritters. Iggy sautéed them in a skillet with oil bit you could do them without oil in a non stick or pit them in the oven. The lasagna zucchini rollups turned out well.
Kathy, how is the air today? I see Florida is also closing bars and imposing restrictions. I wish they would hit pause here as well. People got complacent really fast.
Linda, aw, how sad that you and grandniece won’t get to paint together. My GF also has a birthday in July and we won’t be getting together this year. 😢 i hope reading your latest book can being you some peace and calm. I was feeling better mentally until this resurgence and the plummet of the stock market.
Denise, how has work been treating you this week? It’s good your hospital’s cases are low. Your governor has done a good job.
Liz, how was this week? I bet you are glad it’s Friday. Happy Birthday Eve, my friend. May the force be with you.
Have a good Friday.

Chele, it's a bit hotter than yesterday and the sky is hazy. I was looking out at the pond a few minutes ago and I think I can see it evaporating. They said "feels like" up to 110 today, so between that and the haziness, I'm staying inside. Rain is supposed to return starting on Monday. They never should've reopened the bars, but I was glad to see they shut them again. Too bad the virus spread so fast among the bar hoppers. Same here on feeling better mentally until this resurgence and stock market diving. It's depressing since we really had a chance to keep the virus under control here and blew it. What really has me down at the moment is Trump has doubled down on pursuing the Supreme Court case to get rid of Obamacare. In addition to protection for pre-existing conditions, we'd lose things like the cost protections for those over 50, donut hole protections for Medicare, staying on parent's insurance until 26, no lifetime caps, and guaranteed coverage for screenings.

Good Evening Chicks and happy Friyay! Chele - I hope the eye will continue to improve and not be too difficult for you. We are hazy, hot and humid; my most unfavorite weather! The city is becoming busier with the phase 2 and people being so terribly tired of being cooped up. Cuomo is good about watching the numbers and not letting counties slide. We will have our first inside dinner tomorrow at a new restaurant we found last fall called Fat Sal's Grill. We like the food very much and since it's not a large place, hopefully the seating will be reasonable. They had outdoor seating but we didn't want to chance it with potential rain for tomorrow. Becky - hope the knee isn't hurting too badly and that you're making some good progress with PT. I spent time at the dentist this morning since I never received further information on the partial for the bottom teeth. I will have the oral surgery on Aug. 13th now and then after 3 weeks recovery; receive my permanent denture and partial. How are the fur babies and Kenneth doing? Linda - you keep safe and hope you're enjoying the book. Love that tiara! It does seem odd to not be feeling too much enthusiasm for my birthday. I guess it's just been that kind of year. I hope the dust storms don't affect you this year like they are predicting. Kathy - Linda gets dust storms and you get rain storms. How are bears doing this summer; any sightings? I think I saw that they are going to open Disney World with some major restrictions; that would be interesting. How have you been feeling? Denise - how is work going for you? We are now in pick up the pieces and skin everyone alive mode. Spent an atrocious amount of money during the surge and now they are cutting vacancies and budgets to shreds. We'll reward you for coming to work every day by all but demolishing your operational ability. Karen - that was some crazy route of obstacles yesterday to get to Osteo. How was your sushi? Have you been swimming in the lake frequently? I'm recuperating from long and late days preparing for the presentation to the enterprise SVPCOO and her presidents and COOs yesterday evening with 2 of my colleagues. It was a great deal of work and collecting of data only to have them say...too expensive; let's cut the program. Oh goodie! I still haven't made my rheumatology appt. and set back the oral surgery due to opening the new Cohen Women's Center. First NICU in the nation with single rooms for the isolette and beds and accommodations for the parents. That's due to open Aug. 2nd so the heat is ON! What's the latest with Dale and the job? I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend, I'll do my normal chores and then dinner tomorrow evening. I think Gary went out and bought a gas grill finally and is going to make that my BD present . The pups are good so far and although the vet aspirated the cyst that was going to rupture on Zoe, I think it just filled back up again. Any news on the house? When I stopped in WF a couple weeks ago the line was so long that I just got back into my car. Well dear ladies, I hope you will all continue to be safe and healthy. I just seem to be perpetually tired but hopefully it will improve. Be well and take good care; ciao for now!

This is my county this morning..the drop at the right is just results not in yet..it only goes up.Bet you can guess when things opened up? They finally started cracking down on some big crowded bars.. So I looked at this then heard Pence talking about what a good job his people did.....OMG .Maybe Dr F got through to people about being more responsible? Anybody getting that Sahara dust besides Florida? I actually have had masks for years because of dust and a face shield that ties on my hat band ...hiker thing for dust and wind. Sunglasses and a mask if you must go out in dust! Landscape guys all wear bandannas to pull over noses working with blowers. After a storm, Window washing later is a pain. We never stopped stocking up on stuff here. ...Beginning to look like a Mormon house with a year's supply of food, etc..,yes that is a thing. I stopped being excited about birthdays somewhere after 70. It is always just us two anyway and a card from one SIL and call from both. Sometimes my niece calls. Everyone else forgets including my brother here. It is so hot you do not want a big dinner. This year and next I think we should call it the survival!

Becky, OMGEEEEE on your excitement from yesterday. Did you ever find out if the nekkid guy was from the commune? That's pretty brazen to just help himself to somebody's swing. Definitely good that you decided not to walk yesterday. Did you walk today? I hope the knee is improving. I don't feel the burn when I'm swiming either. LOL I heard your cases went up. Ours, too. We are over 1K new cases for the first time. Good thing you got your knee replacement when you did, since it was done in Travis County. So, the dust is already there, Kathy? We are expecting it tomorrow and Sunday, but are expecting rain, so we may miss those dazzling sunsets. Re Yesterday, I forgot about the Harry Potter angle. Yes, we had our chance on the virus but just couldn't do what was needed because so many people are selfish and impatient. Chele, Knoxville is hitting pause, but nobody else in the area seems to be changing anything. How's the eye today? Good to see you, Liz! I hope the people there will behave better than the rest of the country seems to be doing. Happy Birthday Weekend! Enjoy!! I just saw this survey. Mask Wearing Analysis . All of you are doing better than we're doing here. TN set a new daily record today. Looking at this article it's pretty evident why. Dale and I spent part of today planning for the next wave. I tried to buy a freezer online to put out in the garage but there are none to be had. I called a local appliance store and he said they are expecting a shipment of 8.8 cu ft ones in mid-August and to call back then. We are making a list of everything we need to start stocking up on so we can avoid the grocery stores during the second wave that will coincide with flu season. We plan to start buying extra paper products and shelf stable items on all our grocery trips starting now. Waving to Linda and Denise!

Karen, the dust arrived Thursday, but it's not a dust storm by any means. So far, it's just making the skies hazy. We didn't get the promised pretty sunset yesterday and it doesn't look like we'll get one today. Those are some good ideas on stocking up. We need to think about doing some of that too. We've been buying TP with every grocery delivery and I have more now than I did when this started. I need to go count rolls again and figure out how much I really need.
Liz, good to hear from you and I'm sure you're happy to be to the weekend. There have been some bear sightings including one large mother bear with 3 cubs! Some of their habitat has been developed recently, so they are having to forage for food outside of the forests. We've actually moved from storms to dust in the past couple of days, but storms will return soon! 2020 is just full of surprises. I saw where employees were petitioning Disney to delay the reopening, so I guess we'll see. Who in their right mind would bring their kids to Florida right now? Oh never mind, I'm sure there are plenty of people that would! I'm feeling fine physically, but a bit cooped up and down mentally. Hope you enjoy the meal out and have a great weekend.
Linda, our charts look similar. Pence didn't say anything about masks in his statement. When a reporter asked about masks, he dodged the question and said it was up to state and local governments. Mother Nature will take care of any dust on the windows when our thunderstorms return. Air at ground level still looks pretty clear and windows still look clean right now. We had a storm with driving rain coming at the windows earlier this week.

Welcome to Hoarders Anonymous, Folks. I have been stocking up on tissues, TP and paper towels along with freezing meat for the carnivore and frozen fish for both of us and buying dried and canned beans. I am moving on to other canned goods now while they are plentiful. I can’t find anchovies at Kroger so I plan a trip to Meijer on Monday. I have dried milk as well. If only I can find bread flour...
We also are expecting Saharan dust this weekend along with thunderstorms same as Karen.
Liz, have a nice birthday dinner out. Iggy and I are still doing takeout only because so many people here are not taking precautions.
Linda, you sound like GF. She stopped counting at 70 as well. My DB sometimes remembers my birthday. Mostly not.
Kathy, you are almost as hot as Linda. I wouldn’t go out either. We had another beautiful day. It was only a little more humid than yesterday.
I don’t know about the eye. Sometimes it feels better and sometimes not. It does look better, though. I go back on Tuesday for a check. We are going to the regular farmer’s market downtown and we are going to see what the farm market in Springfield has. We both need to get out of the house.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Thanks Kathy. That is one sight I wouldn't have been able to unsee for sure.
Chele I still have the pain.At times it seems I'm going backwards but the PT could see my knee was straighter on Wednesday.Yep Abbott is surprising some people finally. No elective surgery, bars closing and restaurants will go back to 50% occupancy on Monday.I wish it would filter down to the county level on face masks but when the national leaders don't wear them what do you do?Trump doesn't want the media to see him wearing one and I don't know what Pence's problem is.He kept saying pray in the news conference.I do believe in the power of prayer but we have to help ourselves by doing what we know works.
Kathy You are getting our weather from last week and the first part of this week. It's cooler today because of the rain we had this morning. Our high was 83 but humid and hazy.
Liz Happy early birthday. At least you have a good governor.Ours has been an idiot about the whole thing.Enjoy your birthday dinner out.I know you have to be beyond exhausted.I'm making good progress but the knee has been hurting the last 2 days.Good luck with your oral surgery and denture and partial.
Linda Same here in TX on when the numbers started going up.
Karen Who knows where the nekkid guy was from. They didn't go back towards Bastrop so they probably took him to a mental hospital since he was definitely high on something.I walked 1 mile this morning because I thought I was going to PT. After I came home from my walk it started thundering and then it poured at the time we were supposed to leave.I called to see if they had a later appointment and they didn't.Next week they will only be open on Mon and Wed since they will close on Fri for the 4th of July.I scheduled appointments for both of those days.I have been hurting more today than yesterday.
Kathy They keep talking about the second wave but we aren't out of the first wave yet.Meat is too expensive here to stock up on.

not much here...we went to AJs...Bashas groceries has three kinds of stores:Mexican emphasis, regular and a sort if upscale gourmet which is this one. So we found cheese, German napkins, cookies, shrimp not from Vietnam for Bob and some other stuff.
That was pretty much it.
