Took a short walk and will be heading out again to get the mail. Carl made a wonderful veggie cheese omelet and we ate in the screen room listening to the birds chirping away. Coffee was good and we just relaxed and had a good time eating.
I already have plans to give a few of our neighbors some of the lemon cake. I don't want that 'calling my name' tomorrow LOL. I will do enough 'damage' today.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! We had terrific t'storms during the night, but I slept right through all of it. I don't recall waking up at all, though I may have gone to the bathroom once?? We stayed up and watched a 20/20 episode that was especially good so it was a later than usual night for us.
We sat outside on the porch for a while after supper. I was feeding my daisy beds and DH was talking to his sister on the phone. One of my neighbors stopped me to ask me a question, and I told her we were sitting out and to feel free to come and join if she wished. Well, she brought over her little ShihTzu pup and her folding chair, which she set up on the sidewalk just off our porch so we satisfied 'social distancing' and still got to have a good visit. In fact, she was the one that told us about the 20/20 episode that we ended up watching.
I did finally hear back from the insurance lady. Geez!! But she had my paperwork done and I headed right to their office to sign the paperwork and give her a check for our first premium. She had found a few more discounts that we qualified for and got our monthly payment down to only 54% of what it was previously. Some of it was a change in our coverage (due to Medicare) and a whole list of other available discounts. She asked if we had a 'membership' like at Credit Union or Costco?? and we have both plus some like AARP and Sam's Club, etc. Anyway, I got all the paperwork done and signed and now I need to call our current insurance company (the one that was supposed to give me great prices for being an AARP member) and cancel that policy. The new law takes effect July 2nd, so that is the beginning of my new policy.
I had quite a long list for Meijer and hated the thought of going on the weekend, but didn't want to wait until next week - so as I passed by I made myself turn in and park. I got most everything on the list (plus a few) and got back home and put everything away before DH got home. We had leftovers for supper of scalloped potatoes & ham, green beans, and two bean salads. That put all my new Rubbermaid containers in the dishwasher, which I ran at bedtime and now they are all back in my cupboard. It takes so little to make me happy :-)
Ann ~ I thought about you while I was in the store as I was buying all the ingredients for my WW Chili (0 SP) to make a batch of. It really is a life-saver for a quick lunch when we are having a heavier then usual supper. Doesn't matter the time of year, chili is always good!!
Judy ~ I was surprised that the insurance lady forgot me so quickly, as I think I am quite unforgettable <LOL> I agree with you about gyms being breeding grounds. You’ve probably heard, a lot of gyms in Michigan decided to disobey the Court ruling and open anyway. I honestly believe that as long as people continue to “do what they want” this virus will remain with us. Hope you are having a fabulous time at the Cape!! Also hoping for great weather for your weekend.
Pam ~ I am also not a fan of the theory about “herd immunity” and for some of the same reasons that you already mentioned. We are seeing a spike in the numbers of asymptomatic carriers here as well. How nice for them that they don’t have to get sick and suffer, but what about all the other folks that they infect?? I am still watching the numbers from that bar in E. Lansing continue to climb and climb, so we know it is true.
I started seeing customers shopping without masks yesterday and I thought "how rude!". One was behind me in the check-out line, young, buying a bikini, and coughing into her hand. (remind me to to touch anything that her hand has touched) and she shot me an insolent look so I smiled at her - but I had on a mask so she didn't see it. OTOH, in one aisle I noticed a small (about 2 yo) sitting in a cart and as I passed them, I complimented her on her beautiful hair. Then I noticed she was cradling an open box of fresh blueberries, and I happened to encounter she and her mom a couple of more times and she was making a noticeable dent in that box of blueberries! How refreshing to see a little one enjoying something so good for her.
I also am grateful that the four of us seem to be of a like mind in so many things. I enjoy listening to your thoughts and ideas, and it is great to have a platform to vent when need be. Thank all of you so much for being there and for listening and for all the encouragement.
Now that I don't have anything that I have to do today I think I will get ready and go for a walk, then start a new book. I am sure there is something that I should be doing, but I won't go chasing it unless it happens to come to mind?? Besides, there's always tomorrow .....
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi All ~ I have gotten a lot of this 'n that done around here so far but no walk as yet. I should go soon as it will heat up quickly this afternoon. But meanwhile, I called and cancelled our current auto insurance policy and they emailed me a letter of confirmation while I was on the phone! There is one thing that I do like about technology (when there are so many things that I do not).
Pam ~ BTW, The Hartford DID give me a discount for the COVID-19 and it was deducted from my premium payment last month. I’m glad, because I just cancelled it ahead of my next payment due date. I also expect somewhat of a refund although I have no idea how much?? I will also have a small refund coming from Pioneer since I have my HO insurance with them and now we’ll (once again) get the discount for bundling. I doubt they’ll be very much, but it’s better than me owing them money – and I love getting little surprises!
I think I will go drink a protein shake out on the porch and then perhaps go for a walk??

Forgot to mention that I got an e birthday card from my plastic surgeon. That really brightened up my day. I had a slice of my lemon cake already and happy to say that the rest of it is GONE. Certain things I just can't have in the house, and lemon cake or anything lemon is one of them. Carl cut it in slices and dropped it off our our favorite neighbors homes for them to enjoy. They were very appreciative of it and I got lovely calls wishing me a happy day Sue happy you got all your insurance business squared away. Also that you scored at the supermarket. The meat sauce smells heavenly....can't wait to finish off my bday with all my favorite foods. It's pouring buckets out there now. So happy that we walked when we did....... Take care all!

Ann ..... I am so sorry ........ I did not know today was your birthday!! In fact, when you mentioned the lemon cake, I wondered why you had a lemon cake - and even scrolled back through the past few days to see if you had made any reference to it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I have to agree with you about "anything lemon" as it made my mouth water just thinking about it. DH and I had a slice of the carrot cake that we were gifted with last week. I cut it into 2 slice servings and froze them. It froze very well indeed. Have a fabulous day!!!!

I did get a double walk done while the sun was behind the clouds. DH just called and I offered him three choices for supper and looks like it's gonna be the new all-beef (brisket) hot dogs and corn-off-the-cob.

Hello all!
I decided to sleep in until 8:00 this morning, so by the time I got ready to walk, it was after 9:00. I realized my Garmin needed charging, so I called Debbie and told her I would meet her at 10:00 for a walk. We did 2.73 miles before we called it quits. It was SO humid and hot!! We kept a pretty good pace of 18.13, so I was satisfied. It took me quite a while to cool off.
Other little projects today were weeding the front flower bed, knocking down yet another bird nest, emptying and cleaning the litter boxes and watering all my indoor plants. Then I baked a batch of bread and peeled and de-veined a pound of shrimp, which DH will use in a stir-fry for our dinner. Lunch was one of my childhood favorites: a fried bologna sandwich. I know bologna is not exactly a health food, but at least the pan-frying gets some of the fat out, lol. DH & I both ate this as children and he bought some on a whim when we went shopping this week. I had some potato salad and cherries to go with it.
I put some brown rice on to cook and DH and I went out and sat in the green room for a while. There was a nice breeze, but it was still hot. I read for a while after he went in, but then it got too hot for me. Now, I am headed for a shower while he cooks up the stir-fry.
If my WI had been today, instead of yesterday, I would have posted a .6 loss, instead of a .7 gain. I swear my body knows when it's official WI day and torments me, lol.
Ann - Birthday blessings to you! I wish you many more happy, healthy years. Nice of your doctor to remember. It is kind of you, as well as SMART, to share your lemon birthday cake with the neighbors.
Sue = Wow! You did well with the insurance! Your yard visit with the neighbor sounds nice. I've been thinking of asking some of our neighbors over for a visit. We have a big pecan tree which gives lots of shade in the front yard, so plenty of room to social distance. Good job getting in a double walk!
Judy - Hope you are having a nice relaxing day at the Cape.

Pam sounds like you had yourself a busy day. Kudos for walking in the heat. Happy you got some of your weeding done. I bet the garden looks nice.
I've never had a fried bologna sandwich! Sounds delish. I do love bologna with American cheese and mustard LOL...that reminds me of my childhood as well.
Time for me to get jammified and read a little before we enjoy a glass of Chianti.
Sweet dreams......Judy hope you are cooling off and enjoying your time at the Cape with DH.
