Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks so very much for the birthday wishes!
Chele - so sorry you're not feeling up to par with the bad allergies and the eye still making life a bit miserable! <hugs>; you keep letting Iggy spoil you! Nice b-day dinner for me on Sat. evening. We had the restaurant basically to ourselves! Ate and drank too much but I guess that's part of what birthdays are for. I had a very nice chicken dish with small breaded cutlets with a slice of eggplant and mozzarella on top and a white wine sauce. Gary had their southern fried chicken and mac & cheese.
Kathy - Wow on those bears! How's the weather treating you? Glad all is well so far with you and the family. I'm just chronically tired and hoping that the wavelets or surge don't start up too soon! Had a student who came back from visiting in FLA and went to a graduation party; now 87 people testing positive. When will people learn?
Linda - good job on stocking up on all of the essentials. That poor hospital system is going to get hammered! I know you're already aware; but please be extra careful and protect yourselves from the idiots! Masks, hand-washing, hand-washing and more hand-washing!
Becky - great job on being able to do the recumbent bike and continuing with your exercises! It was a hot and humid day on Sat. but I managed to get a bit of rest after walking and feeding the pups and then venturing out to do the grocery shopping. I also hope you and Kenneth are able to stay safe and healthy. Sending prayers that your family member is able to get the surgery that is needed.
Karen - Fat Sal's is an American restaurant with a pretty nice selection of Italian dishes, great mussels and very good burgers and chicken dishes. We were literally the only people eating inside the restaurant so social distancing was not a problem. Our server wore a mask the entire time and it was just nice to get out and have a meal together. Gary bought a gas grill and that will be delivered and installed this Friday. I'll be able to grill now for most of the year hopefully when I have time. How's the weather and Covid cases? Have you been out on the lake regularly? How's Dale and Miss Arya? We're in crunch mode now after all the money spent during surge. They are slashing and burning through our budgets, freezing positions and going back to do more with less, better! Most of it I can deal with but they're messing with my staffing for the new building which is a women's center and that could definitely cause some issues.
Waving to Denise (moonriver).
Take good care ladies and please stay safe! Ciao for now~

Linda, TP doesn't expire, so you should be good for a while. If we run out, we're coming to your house . We have been eating down the big freezer so we need to restock. It amazes me the length of the sell by date on organic milk. That's what Dale drinks so we get some weekly. I'm not sure we can be totally prepared, but I guess we'll make do. I would guess eventually cotton face masks will get thin or the stitching will come loose. So they won't last forever. But they are better than one-and-done disposables. The 3-ply ones should be good so it's great that you got some. Good to hear from you, Chele, but sorry about the grass pollen. We're in the moderate category here, so I'm staying indoors. Good luck at the eye doctor tomorrow. I hope the pollen doesn't create a setback there. So you didn't make it to the farmers market? Enjoy being spoiled. Denise, I saw something about a situation with protestors/rioters and police in Detroit last night. Everything ok near you? Our gyms opened almost 2 months ago but I haven't felt safe going so I will try to start this week. But I saw that 200 people tested positive at a gym where I used to work in WV. Any bear updates, Kathy? Scary to have them so close. We rarely see them on this side of U.S. 411, which surprised me when we moved here because you would think they would be drawn to the lake and the fish. Has your dust cleared? Liz, great to hear from you and happy to hear that you had a good birthday. I'm afraid those budget cuts are going to be worldwide. They are already having to do massive cuts in local government due to a lake of tax revenue for over a month. This is our 4th day in a row of new cases over 900. They had a system shutdown yesterday and released the info today that we have nearly 2200 new cases since Saturday. Cases are rising in our local counties. Sevier County has about 1/4 the population of Knox County, but more than half the number of cases. And nobody is making any changes locally and the tourists just keep coming. How did PT go, Becky? Are you able to get morning appointments every time now? I'm hearing that TX just keeps increasing cases. How are things locally? Fresh Express salad recall. Looks like it involves everyone but Kathy and Linda. Dale went grocery shopping this morning and scored 2 packs of TP and 2 of paper towels, plus some pantry stuff. We had a little issue, however, in that the power was out to the garage doors and the switch wouldn't reset. He replaced the switch but it still doesn't work, so the electrician is coming tomorrow. I've felt kind of meh today so I didn't even work out today but did get on the Vibe Plate. I cleaned a bit and cooked turkey for Arya. Also did a little laundry.

I never get precut veggies, especially lettuce because of that.
Finally...we hit surge capacity here...so...LATE
Gov. Ducey orders closure of bars, gyms, movie theaters, water parks, and tubing
but one of our worst sources is private parties..like the one every night last three nights at the short term rental behind us. Unusual, but now?
from WP today. âArizona has emerged as an epicenter of the early summer coronavirus crisis as the outbreak has expanded, flaring across new parts of the country and, notably, infecting more young people. Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix, is recording as many as 2,000 cases a day, âeclipsing the New York City boroughs even on their worst days,â warned a Wednesday brief by disease trackers at Childrenâs Hospital of Philadelphia, which observed, âArizona has lost control of the epidemic.â AD
But physicians, public health experts, advocates and local officials say the crisis was predictable in Arizona, where local ordinances requiring masks were forbidden until Gov. Doug Ducey (R) reversed course last week. State leaders did not take the necessary precautions or model safe behavior, these observers maintain, even in the face of compelling evidence and repeated pleas from authoritative voices. âWe have failed on so many levels,â said Dana Marie Kennedy, the Arizona director of AARP, who said her organization has yet to receive a response to...â

moonriver, Denise, thanks for asking. The eye is infected and I am on steroid drops. It has improved somewhat but I go back to the Opthamologist tomorrow. Your governor is smarter than ours. He has given in the Republican State Senators who do not advocate masks or social distancing. Liz, I am glad you enjoyed your birthday. Sounds like St Crazy on steroids. Becky, I hope PT did not make you hurt worse. Linda, people in my county are acting like the crisis has passed and cases are up. Take care of yourself and beware the party goers. Karen, no market this weekend. I didnât feel like wearing a mask since I was congested from the allergies. We are on our own. Kathy, you blew your hot, humid weather up this way. The real feel was 98°. Yuck! Bought some Cottonelle mega rolls a couple of weeks ago because they were on sale. I opened the pack today and they are 1/2â narrower than Charmin or Samâs Club roll. i added to my paper products collection at Meijer today. They had my favorite tissues, Puffâs ultra soft tissue with no lotion. I bought 2 packs of three. Kathy, I think you like those as well? Meijerâs TP and paper towels are more expensive than Kroger so I didnât get any. They did not have my Aveeno shampoo and conditioner so I will have to get them elsewhere. I found a honey rock melon that I hope will be good.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele Feel better soon. The Saharan dust is getting to me.I'm glad Iggy is spoiling you.
Linda I looked up that link and it said in store only.
Liz I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday dinner.I'm glad you were able to relax this weekend.Kenneth's cousin did have her surgery today. It lasted 9 hours.
Karen PT went great today.I had a different therapist and she manipulated my lower back and worked on trigger points around my elbow and it helped straighten my leg more. She doesn't want me to do any of the standing exercises between now and Wednesday so I don't undo the progress made today. She gave me a couple of seated exercises to do instead.Cases just keep going up.Even though Abbott ordered the bars to close 57 in Texas were open over the weekend. Most of them said they would close but one in Austin and one in Fredericksburg got their licenses pulled for 30 days.I bought one pkg of TP. HEB is limiting purchases again.I was wondering if you still used the vibe plate. What does it do for you?I noticed it was bagged lettuce that was bad and I never buy bagged lettuce.
Chele I actually feel better after PT today. What is a honey rock melon? We are still working on our watermelon. It is still so good.

Karen, I didn't hear of any bear sightings today. We'll see if they dine on the trash bins that are out already. That is surprising that the bears haven't found their way to your side of 441. We didn't have any bears here for the first 10 years or so that I lived here. They've been building new developments near the wilderness center to the north of here, so I think their territory is disappearing. The dust is still with us, but I noticed some blue sky peeking through today. It's supposed to move on in the next couple of days. Hope you feel less meh tomorrow. Chele, hope the allergies ease up soon. I'm glad Iggy is spoiling you (as he should!). Good luck at the eye doctor tomorrow. Wow, that's hot for you! We had an actual 98 with feels like in the 100s. Can't wait for this dust to get out of here and for our normal rains to return. I had to turn on the sprinklers yesterday for the first time in June. I got one pack of Cottonelle when things were desperate. I don't really like it or Angel Soft either. I wasn't being picky when it was the only TP though since it's much better than nothing! Yes!! I've been looking for those Puffs. Publix has only had the ones with lotion. I ordered them before from Walmart.com, so I'm hoping I can restock soon. Liz, the weather has been pretty brutal the past few days with the Saharan dust and temps at 98. Our low last night was 80! I saw some sky peeking through the dust tonight, so I think it's starting to move out. We're supposed to get some rain later this week. It's no wonder you're tired with your commute and job. I hope another surge doesn't start there. I think there are a lot of people that won't learn until either they get the virus or someone close to them gets it. I'm glad you had such a nice restaurant experience. That is ideal with nobody else in there! Sounds like great food too. And yes, eating and drinking too much are what birthdays are for. Linda, they said the cases in Florida increased by 500% in 2 weeks! That's probably low too since people are saying they can't get a test. The testing places are overwhelmed and are closing early when they run out of test. I'm glad your governor finally shut some things down, but it sure took long enough. You win on the TP supply! I'm sure the college kids are having parties when the bars are shut down. Some of the pictures coming out of the restaurants look a lot like bars too. They are packed in and no masks. Becky, you're making me hungry for watermelon. I usually buy the slices or cut up ones since the Publix employees cut them up right by the produce section and I can't use a whole one. I know they wear masks now, but I still don't want the cut up fruits.
