WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

G26D0 G4Y3R4 52 SP (14 WP and 8 FP) Treat count 22/33 1522 collateral steps 1 FP
Still not able to stop the binging. I am very disappointed in myself. Ate way more cashews and yogurts than I should have today. I used up my remaining WP (today is day 6 of my week) and I have 1 usable FP left.
Didn't go out at all today. We got about 7 inches of snow. The forecast had called for it to change to pouring rain by 8 am this morning and follow getting lighter for about the next 4 hours. Luckily we didn't get much rain if at all. I'm not exactly pleased with how they plowed as they left the access to my gas meter partly obscured. With my back issue I really don't want to have to be out there shoveling snow. Partly my fault though since I had the garage door open and they may have been out there plowing so that no snow would end up in my garage.
I managed to get the book for my HOA group close to finished (meeting is on the 20th) and the chapters for the church book group finished (meeting is Wed. morning) It actually felt nice being able to sit here reading and not feeling rushed even though there are still things that need to be done around the house. I did get the batteries into the window candles so now those are lighted except for one in my bedroom which appears to have been damaged by some corrosion. Tomorrow I have to go up to the VA hospital for an appointment in the morning and Wed. afternoon I'll go to a WW meeting.
Nancy-you are doing better then I am but I still understand your frustration.
Edesia-right about it being nice to stay around. They had closed the schools, parks and recreation, and such so I didn't try to get to church. Interesting comments on how the book helped you to adjust your use of carbs to make things more balanced. I'm struggling with binging on my Greek yogurts if I don't have chocolate snacks in the house to binge on. Every now and then I think about getting Beck again. I should probably add this one to my list.
Jan-the concert sounds nice. One thing I miss, because I go to DM's for the holiday, is the Christmas Eve caroling at the gazebo on the town mall. My church gives a dollar for each person who attends to the local food bank.
Hope to see everyone else following us here. I do wonder about some of the people we all hope would come back like Jane and Meg.
