International Joke Day.
Q. What do you call a boomerang that won’t come back?
A. A stick.
Q. How do you get a squirrel to like you?
A. Act like a nut.
Knock! Knock! Who's there? Candice. Candice who? Candice door open, or am I stuck out here?
Don't interrupt someone working intently on a puzzle. Chances are, you'll hear some crosswords.

moonriver, Good one, Denise. Are you having a heat wave? It is hot and humid and is supposed to be in the 90s for the next 2 weeks. Some areas had rain yesterday but it missed us. Kathy, I am blowing harder to move the hot air back south. There is no specific test for rosacea but there are tests to rule out other conditions. No Sirius here so no U2 channel for me. Becky, how is the back today? How is Kenneth’s cousin doing? I wish Kroger and Meijer would mandate face masks. Linda, I pray no one in the family gets sick enough to go to hospital here. Glad you managed to avoid the guy with mental problems. I have run into that myself since panhandling is legal here. Too funny about the zucchini drops. I have never heard of that. We have never had any luck with zucchini and eggplant here but at our other house we used to get a nice crop. Liz, it is mid week. I hope you have kept your sanity so far. Karen, how is the newsletter article coming? Did you swim today? Did the rain show up? I wish we were getting some but it is another bright, beautiful day albeit hot and humid. I saw the chipmunks frolicking on our fence yesterday. I didn’t mention It to Elmer. Has Dale started working? How is it going? I did paperwork and got on the treadmill and bike for 15 minutes each. I have just been betting my steps walking around the house but I don’t think that is enough. I did some exercises and stretches which I have been neglecting. It felt good. Iggy is fixing lunch of baked smelts and roasted cauliflower and we have some raw veggies to go with it. After lunch we are going to take a drive and probably get some Starbucks iced tea. Enjoy the day.

Thanks for the hilarious start, Chele. Speaking of squirrels, Rocky was back yesterday. Wascally little guy. I am really bad at remembering jokes. Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit. How's the eye doing today? Good luck with the steroids. I hope you can keep the appetite in check. I wish businesses in general would mandate masks. Eggplant is a bit finicky to try to grow. I never could grow it at the other house but have been able to get it to grow here. But so far this year I just have a bunch of leaves. I'm hoping it just hasn't been warm enough yet. Got the newsletter stuff finished and shipped last night. So I just have to wait til she sends me the proof. I thought about swimming this morning but did the rower instead because I only had 24 intensity minutes so far this week. I'm up to 86 now so I hope I can make it to 300 for the week. I haven't had smelts in years. Enjoy them! Do you get the flavored ice tea at Starbucks?
Kathy, I saw Rainier Cherries in my Publix ad for this week. Enjoy your U2 channel. Did you hear anything regarding the bears and trash day? I hear JAX is now requiring masks. That should make it a bit interesting for the RNC next month.
I wonder, Linda, if different varieties of zucchini grow better in the heat there and you haven't been trying to grow that variety. Having said that, mine have great looking foliage, but the fruit is pretty slow to develop.
Denise, LOL on the joke. Are you still experiencing the heat?
Good luck at PT today, Becky. I hope they can easily get you back into alignment. What are you hearing on Kenneth's cousin?
Liz, I saw hizzonner is cutting the police budget and increasing spending in other places and that he and the guv are getting into it on a few things. Going to be interesting there. How goes it with the women's center with a month until opening? Has the grill been delivered yet?
Dale started his new old job yesterday. Why he started on a Tuesday, the last day of a month, and the last day of the business fiscal year makes no sense to me. Pretty much the same crew he was working with a year ago when he retired. He was told this morning that he's not allowed to retire again until he's 100. It's been a cloudy day but rain will be hit or miss so everything got watered early. I have to go pick up the CSA order this afternoon so that's probably when it will start to rain. I finished another performance fabric mask with a filter pocket this morning. I'm using cut up Handi-Wipes as filters and I think they will work well. So I have enough masks to last me for a while. I really need to re-cover a couple of microwave heating pads and just haven't gotten around to cutting the fabric yet.

Chele, can't believe it's July already, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit. I saw where Sirius is free on inactive radios through July 6. The U2 channel is 32. It will be nice to have something new to listen to. The dust has moved out and rain is already moving in. Thanks for blowing the dust away with all that huffing and puffing! Good to know about the tests. Hope the meds work and you don't need them. How were the smelts? I don't think I've had them. Oh, a Starbucks iced tea would be nice. Enjoy! Q: Where do the pianists go for vacation?
A: The Florida Keys. Denise, good one. Karen, thanks for the tip on the Rainier cherries. They may be added to my cart this week. I didn't hear any more reports of bear sightings. They were spotted a couple of miles north of here before they were seen in my neighborhood, so they have a pretty big territory. I saw that on the masks requirement for Jacksonville. Should make things interesting.
Good luck to Dale on his new old job. That is weird to start a job mid week like that. Usually, they want you on the first day of a pay period or at least that was my experience. The prime contractor for my last project didn't win the next contract, so the group I worked with has scattered. Some went with the new company, but most of them stayed with their companies and are working new jobs. Some of them had worked in that horrible lab for over 20 years! That's an almost unheard of length for a software project, but this one just goes on and on.
We just got a little shower and we're supposed to get more rain over the next few days. Hopefully, that will bring our temps down too. Good idea on the Handi-Wipes for filters. I have some of them, so might give that a try. Liz, how is the work week going? Things sure have reversed with NY not wanting people from FL and other states to come there. Becky, hope you have good luck with the PT today. Hope Kenneth's cousin is doing okay. Linda, that's scary on the critical care hospital. Hope they can get things under control in both of our states.

Linda, that map is scary especially for our states. Meanwhile in FL, people were marching in Seminole County to protest the mandatory mask order that just went into effect. They were chanting, "My body, my choice".

I got one Chinese eggplant before it got too hot for flower to set fruit.
I like that FB post...Mask use is IQ test.
Trump just came out and said masks are a good idea and he will wear one in tighter areas!
bitter letters to Ed today about critical care priorities...that the young people at bars and parties causing the surge get priority over old people. Also a problem if you go to ER now with heart attack or stroke....no room, not enough staff.
i have not seen relatives or friends at all since February. Sigh, not even at social distance. Just DH, neighbors to wave at across street, and cashiers at grocery store once a week. It goes on and on and on.
still below normal temps for a day or two..only 104 this afternoon, so dog got an 11:30 second walk..we both need exercise. Then gritted teeth and completely cleaned DH's bedroom, even put up clean drapes, changed bed, did the laundry. While I was at it, did the rest of the house's laminate flooring with Bona. That took the starch out of me!

Linda, that's an incredible chart. We're up another 1800+ cases since yesterday, so we are quickly heading toward red but there will be no lockdown here. Too Trumpy.
Thanks for mentioning Sirius, Kathy. I checked on my way home from picking up the CSA order and it works in my car right now. Have you tried the Starbucks Berry Hibiscus bottled tea? Addictive! LOL on the FL Keys. Yes, even 5 years seems to be a long time in the same software job. Don't know how anybody managed to stay in that lab for 20 years. Got to wonder how many of the Seminole County crowd are also pro-lifers who scoff when a woman uses the same phrase.
Dale has been putting in the CSA order since I went back to Osteo because i am on the road when the order window starts. Instead of getting the small zucchini, he got the large and is it ever large--about 18" long and a good 3 pounder. I see zucchini bread in our future. Might also do some zucchini cakes or fritters. There should be plenty for what ever.

Thanks for the start Chele.Welcome to the 90's club. Our high today was 96 with a feel like of 109 and very humid. We may hit triple digits this weekend.Although HEB had a sign up saying face coverings required and only letting a few people in at a time which meant a line outside in the heat.Kenneth said he saw 1 person without a mask.I guess they let them in because they decided this yesterday afternoon and not enough time to enforce yet. With the way the governor's executive order is written only businesses can enforce the law or be fined.Elgin,Bastrop and Smithville all voted to make it city wide in the city limits and only in businesses.PT thinks most of my problems with my knee right now are from my scoliosis. While they can't do anything about the upper back they are going to work on the lower back and hips. She still doesn't want me to do standing exercises but sitting ones are fine. She doesn't want me to stop walking or the recumbent bike because that is helping me to be mobile.
Karen It's going to be a process with the added problem of scoliosis. She doesn't think it's bad enough for surgery but she thinks I would benefit from a heel lift but not to buy one yet because she has another client that found one online and she wants to ask her which one she ended up with.Kenneth talked to his cousin's DH this morning and he said she must be feeling better because she was griping this morning. He can't be with her in the hospital so he is staying in a hotel.
