it's frightening though, the next few months. he's not leaving without doing as much damage as he can possibly cause.

I say there is a chance he could win again. There are things going on that are getting his base behind him. Just because the media is full of anti-Trump stories doesn't mean he doesn't have enough support to win.

Oh yeah, we're not going to fall into that over-confidence trap again. I still believe there are more rational people out there who know how important this election is and they will vote, come hell or high water.

Trumps base is, imho, much more than a base. They are more like a cult.
They believe in him no matter what others say. No matter what he does. No matter how he behaves.
Beliefs have nothing to do with facts, reality, or truth.
His base watch only 1 channel on tv. That's their news. Their truth. Everything else is a hoax. That's what their leader tells them so that's what they believe. Don't pester them with facts. Who needs those?

Just because the media is full of anti-Trump stories doesn't mean he doesn't have enough support to win. there is a chance through cheating but i think he has dug his own grave with this covid response and the response against the protesters. he does have a lot of loony tunes people supporting him, but he's even lost many of the conservative base (the true conservatives, not the tea party gun nuts in full faux military garb) as well as many of the religious base (again, besides the loony he's my savior bullshit types who wouldn't know being a true christian if it bashed them in the face). but of the rational conservatives, he's lost them. so i'm not sure he has enough of a leg to stand on anymore. still, that does not mean we can get complacent. we must all get out and vote.

Even Faux News reports some actual facts, usually in the morning. By the time prime time rolls around, however, they are in full spin mode.
I can't stand the photo of DT swaggering around with his presidential seal mask. You can just hear him thinking "I'm a bad ass."

It was a photo op for sure. He probably had it on for a few seconds to take the shot then ripped it off.
His handlers might have told him if his base dies off or is too sick to vote that's a bad thing for him. It's always about him. Not about their well being.

Who needs those? I saw a headline only a few days ago that he denounced Fox News. I have no idea where that went (since I don't follow up on any headline with his name in it), but the first thing that occurred to me was, will his supporters follow suit? Something to consider... If they do, then what will feed them? If they don't, doesn't that mean they aren't paying attention to something he said? (This is a rhetorical question; I really have no interest in pursuing the topic.)

Holly Gail, I think periodically he denounces Fox News when they don't blindly agree with him and his actions. I think his supporters might agree with him on the one thing but go back to Fox because so much of it blindly supports him and his actions.

I couldn't imagine they'd completely abandon their one and only source... What you say makes total sense.

Holly Gail, On July 5 he tweeted suggesting OANN and newsmax instead of Fox. There are plenty of wackadoo sources out there besides Fox.
