Good morning WW friends. Slept well last night and woke up to heavy fog. We have showers in our forecast today..ho hum...I just hope that it's not the strange weather pattern we had yesterday.
Today we will bite the bullet and hit Walmart, Tractor Supply and Hannaford's Decided to go today rather than tomorrow as perhaps it will be less crowded!!!!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! I unfortunately forgot what day it was and started doing some gardening (dead heading and watering and feeding). When I came in for a bit, my niece texted me to remind me that we were meeting for lunch today. I had "scheduled" it on my phone and that copy of my calendar doesn't apply the best reminders. It would have told me 30 minutes ahead of time .... not much help! At least now I am on track for Thursday, and am looking forward to seeing her.
Last night I skinned and deboned the rotisserie chicken then paired it with Chicken Flavored Riced Cauliflower with broccoli & carrots. Easy supper! I made a cold salad recipe from a (caterer) friend consisting of white corn, black beans, mango, red onion, s&p and Cilantro. I mixed it up in the afternoon and it was ready for supper. It yields about a half dozen side dishes. I froze an 8 oz package of cooked rotisserie chicken (perhaps for Fried Rice?) and also the two legs/thighs sans skin for another meal.
We had my Egg McMuffins this morning with a fruit bowl. Very satisfying indeed. For lunch I plan to have a Chicken Greek Salad with pita at the restaurant. I have two T-bones marinating since yesterday and will grill them this evening. I also made a broccoli/grape tomato/feta salad for tonight to eat with the steaks. Last evening we each took a bowl of chilled watermelon outside on the porch for our evening sit-out. The weather was perfect - in the 80's but low humidity and a slight breeze! We have watermelon left for tonight again.
I was sad that I didn't find my Splenda yesterday at Sam's Club, but I went online and though they don't have it in the stores, they have it in the warehouse. I ordered it and it will be delivered Friday. I don't plan to have a reason to go to back out that way for quite sometime, so this will solve my problem. I have been spoiled because Amazon doesn't charge me shipping, and Costco doesn't charge me shipping, but Sam's does. I still saved $$ overall by ordering it though.
Yesterday when I got in the back of that long line at Sam's Club, I snapped a photo and sent it to my DH. He had a ball sharing it with one of our nieces as well as several friends & customers. I attribute much of that long line to the upcoming holiday. People are staying home more and probably planning at home celebrations (like we are). I can only imagine how much worse the lines will be today (which is why I went yesterday).
Ann ~ Glad to hear you slept well. I went to bed at 10 and slept very well indeed, though I was aware of dreaming quite a bit. I slept through until 7 this morning and woke refreshed. I really do wish for some of your rain! We haven't had any and there is none predicted for days ahead! I noticed our sprinklers came on during the night so that will help the grass and the beds of daisies and black-eyed Susans but everything else I have to water by hand.
Pam ~ I don’t know if I ever mentioned it or not…. But I lived much of my younger years in Arkansas on a farm with my grandparents. Though I was born in Tennessee (Memphis to be specific) I spent most of my time in Arkansas until I was almost 10 years old. Some of my happiest memories!!
Time for me to go water and feed my potted plants. BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue happy that you are able to still make your appointment to see your niece. Enjoy your lunch. I hear you on having to pay for shipping and handling. At least it saves you a trip to and from. Right now we have sunshine. Just waiting for Carl to get ready so that we can walk LuLa...get the mail...and shop! I really HOPE that it's not busy in either place. Not in the mood to fight a crowd. At our Walmart, the aisles are ONE WAY but most people don't see or choose NOT to see the arrows on the floor! Annoying at best! I have that in my mind before hand so that I don't get 'antsy' when it happens. I have chicken breasts defrosting for supper tonight done on the grille, with plenty leftovers for another go around. Gotta love that. I'll pair that with steamed mixed veggies and coleslaw that's already made and waiting Waving and will CBL

Well, we made it to Tractor Supply for miss LuLa's food and Walmart. As we were in Walmart, the electricity went out. Luckily the self scanners were still up and running so we were able to pay. We went to Hannaford's and no lights there, so we came home. Another blessing was when we opened the door, our AC was still on, so all is well with us. We will try Hannaford's later in the day, or perhaps tomorrow.
Just finished lunch and now going to do a few more online things before I read a bit.
Far too hot to walk in this. Once to get the mail earlier was enough LOL.
Later!

Hi Ann ~ Glad you got at least some of your shopping done. I have experienced the power going out while shopping and it wasn't pretty.
We had a nice lunch and good visit, though the time just seemed to fly by!! I especially love and enjoy this niece (who is the ex-wife of DH's nephew) and she and I have been very close for many many years. With the pandemic, she has been staying at home except for seeing her grown kids and her mom. Today was a real treat for both of us. She isn't working as she is on medical leave from one of the auto plants, so she has a lot of time on her hands.
I stopped in Kohl's after lunch because this is a different location and I still have that gift card burning a hole in my pocket. I only found one shirt, but it didn't ring up at the sale price and I didn't want it for the actual price. The lady at the jewelry counter offered to ring me out as I only had one thing, then we aborted that effort. Nonetheless when I wished that I could get my gift card to load on my phone app so I could use it when I shopped from home, she offered to do it for me. On about the third try, she got it to work! Now I can shop from home when the mood strikes me. So it was not a wasted trip after all.
I have quite a bit of time before I need to do anything else for supper, so I will go read for a while.

Sue happy to hear that you and your niece had a nice lunch. So nice that it was a treat for both of you.
Win win situation getting the gift card loaded to your phone. I don't blame you for not wanting the shirt at regular price. I've had that happen to me several times at Marshall's and I've always left the item behind!
I called out Hannaford's and the gal said they were 'up and running'. I grabbed my kindle list and purse and we headed on out. Just as I was rummaging through my purse I realized that I didn't have my face mask in there. Seeing as wanted baby back ribs and likes to 'pick them out himself' he went in and I sat in the car and read. Win win for me LOL. He got all on the list except for disinfectant spray which I really didn't need but just wanted to have on hand.
Our supper is also not going to be hard to put together, so I too am going to read.
Waving to Pam and Judy.....

Good afternoon! I decided to walk to church this morning, as it was my group's turn to clean. It was about a mile there and I took the long way back, so got in 2 1/4 miles. There was only 2 of us, but we got things vacuumed in no time. One of the group had called me to say she is quarantined after a relative tested positive for CV. Her contact was limited, but she is erring on the side of caution, which I appreciate. Speaking of Covid, Louisiana has reported almost 2500 new cases in the past 2 days, 19 of them in my parish. Dee texted me that her cousin, who lives in our neighborhood, has tested positive. She hasn't been near him or his wife, but they both attended the recent inauguration and dinner for our new sheriff and possibly contracted it there. That really concerns me, because DD1's boss is the new sheriff's sister-in-law and was definitely there. DH had commented that no one was wearing masks in the many pictures of the event that were posted on fb. I wonder if that is why, after sending out a notice to all hospice/homehealth workers yesterday that wearing masks in the office is a personal choice, today's message says it is mandatory. Breakfast today was yogurt and blueberries. Lunch was peasant bread, cheese and watermelon. Dinner will be speckled butter beans with ham, brown rice and sauteed yellow squash. Last night and this morning I watched the documentary "13th" (available on Netflix & YouTube), which I have heard a lot about lately. It was very eye opening and I highly recommend it. While I didn't agree with 100% of what was presented, most of it made perfect sense. I also started a series on YouTube called "More than Kumbaya" presented by the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge. ( www.ifedgbr.com/news/more-than-kumbaya) The episode I watched was on police reform and was very good. I am fulfilling a pledge I made to "listen more" to voices other than just those in my small circle of family and friends. Almost green room time. Ann - I'm glad your shopping trip worked out to your satisfaction. I have taken to leaving a clean mask for each of us in the car, just in case. Sue - How nice that you got your card set up for online purchases! I got a couple of shirts online from Khol's a few weeks ago, but didn't find much on sale that interested me. I don't care for the fit of the pants I ordered, but didn't send them back. I should have tried them on before washing and wearing them. Lesson learned. I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch out. Judy- Waving!

Hi again. I've not heard of that series, Pam. Will check it out at some point. Right now I'm not in the right frame of mind for anything 'too deep'.....light and fluffy is all I can tolerate.
Keeping those that you know that have contacted COVID19 in my prayers. Keep us posted.
I am going to do just that...keep two extra masks in the car 'just in case'.
We ended up losing our power for about 45 minutes. It was just starting to get stuffy in here when it went back on. Needless to say, we were all very happy campers.
Our chicken on the grille didn't happen. Instead, we had ham and cheese sandwiches with tomato lettuce and chips on the side. Easy and just as tasty.
Yesterday I clocked in over 16,000 steps. Today I haven't broken 10K. Oh well....just one of THOSE days.
Waving to Judy.....Hope all is well with you and DH and family.....
Sweet dreams.
