Please feel free to join our stroll thru life and come back often for support and to share. ************************************ For those of you who like beans, what is your favorite bean dish? I can’t pick just one. Let’s see there’s: Hummus (Did you know hummus that means chickpea in Arabic?) How is everyone today? The eye is the same. I kept busy today with cooking and laundry and watering a d a workout. Iggy tinkered in the garage and yard. We just came back from a drive and boy, was there a lot of traffic. Everyone has the day off, I guess. Nothing new and exciting. I hope you are all enjoying the day

Thanks for the start, Chele. My favorite bean dishes...hmmmm...#1 is BBQ Butter Beans, which is similar to a dish my college roommate's granny used to send back to campus with her after she went home. #2 is the black bean chili you already mentioned. #3 is the tuna and white bean dish we both started enjoying this year. I also love hummus but am not as good as Iggy at making my own. Rocky had to be chased off the deck twice so far today. No bullwinkle. The closest thing we have is elk and they all stay pretty much in GSMNP. The pizza was good. It had artichoke hearts, mushrooms, onions, and roasted garlic, with lots of marinara. I'll have it over black bean spaghetti today to celebrate bean day. Sorry the eye doesn't seem to be improving. Maybe it is but it takes a while to see a change. I don't think I would have ventured out today. Everyone most likely does have the day off with the holiday being on a Saturday.
Linda, from a business perspective, I can see why the gym chains didn't want to close. They are small businesses and a lot of members pay monthly through auto pay, so it was a major bookkeeping hassle. However, given the number of positive cases being traced to gyms, I doubt they will get very far with the lawsuit unless they have a very conservative judge who believes covid is a hoax. Good luck on Pence and his promises. I won't hold my breath. You're right about covid graph looking like a ski jump. We just need it to start the downhill portion. That's ridiculous about the AL kids trying to get infected. It will take either one of them ending up in ICU (or worse) or losing interest, which might happen first with their short attention spans. It's too bad that they will get bed preference in the hospitals. If it comes out they were trying to get sick, they should be moved to the back of the line. Black eyed Susans are a native here and are a perennial. Do yours not survive the heat, so they are an annual there? Nice to know you can go to the nursery and it won't be nuts like Lowes or Home Depot. BofA closing branches there? That's surprising! Are they just getting pushed out by other institutions or is it tied to the economy? I remember when they started taking over all the smaller institutions. I chuckled at your comment about dodging people using the one way aisles at Safeway. The stores here that have one way aisles have shoppers who apparently can't follow directions, so that wouldn't work. How was your birthday Thai? I've had sticky rice but never mango sticky rice.
Great to hear from you, Liz. I hope the grill is delivered and assembled and you have plans to grill out tonight. When I got the pizza from Papa Murphy's yesterday they included directions on grilling your pizza. That was something new. I hadn't thought about the subway crowds. I'll bet you are afraid to touch anything. Good that everyone is at least wearing a mask. You're right about 5 minutes in an ICU changing minds of not only the idiots Linda mentioned, but also the non-believers and people who think we are on the downhill with this thing.
Kahy, I heard about Herman Cain. He sure looked like he was having fun at the rally and was not even close to social distancing. I heard he was hospitalized but not on a vent (yet). I wonder how many are also testing positive after the rally that we won't hear about. I heard a funny one this morning. A news show commentator said that most presidents hold rallies so they can become president, but Trump became president so he can hold rallies. I agree that the Calm app channel isn't for driving unless you are at a complete standstill. I guess I could have used it yesterday on my way home. Yes, I was not happy about having to wipe down the equipment. I did it multiple times before I used it. Will you be able to see any of the fireworks from your house? We had some going off after we went to bed last night and Arya didn't react to them, which was a first. Then we had some going off really close about 1 a.m. that woke me up but she barely moved. I'll be anxious to see if it was just a fluke or if she has really gotten over that fear. I'll get signed up at the other gym and then I won't have to go back to that one, at least until all the schools are back in session. We have been breaking covid daily records for the last several days. I didn't realize Central FL beaches would be open. Another screw up from DuhSantis.
What are you hearing about Kenneth's cousin, Becky? How long will she have to stay in the hospital? Who is going to have to enforce mask wearing across the state? I heard masks are mandatory at Myrtle Beach now and the police have to enforce it. I can't imagine they will be very happy about that. Do the adults with medical conditions have to provide any proof? Anybody who doesn't want to wear a mask could say they have a medical condition. I know people who would do that just so they wouldn't have to. If it's already going to be 100+ in July, I know you aren't looking forward to August. I didn't feel uncomfortable at Gold's, even thought I wasn't happy at times. I was the only one other than staff wearing a mask and I was also wearing a pair of Copper Fit gloves as well. Will online church be available during the time the usual service is held? It's probably a smart move on the part of your pastor, especially since there have been positive cases in your church already.
Freezer is cleaned out and organized. We have plenty of space to stock up on veggie burgers and similar items. The magnetic boards worked out well. Dale brought a bunch of stuff up to the kitchen before my Zoom meeting thinking he was being helpful. It just about made me late because the idea was that I would sort through it right away. I was not amused. Several things got tossed or placed elsewhere. It's good to have an idea what we already have on hand. I think we will still probably get a small freezer for the garage where we can store all of Arya's stuff together. Yes, my dog will have her own freezer. She may let us use some of it. I just checked our covid numbers and we set another record. All our local counties have also jumped up, some pretty significantly. But of course we aren't changing how we do anything and there will be no maks orders outside of Knox County (where there really isn't any enforcement) because the guv doesn't want to take a chance that someone will have their civil liberties imposed upon. Doesn't matter that we're in a pandemic. I swam a little over 1/2 mile this morning. The water is warming up, but it's July. I will probably only have a couple more months to swim so I need to maximize while I can.

Thanks for the start Chele.I like pinto, black and kidney beans. You and Iggy have been busy.I'm glad you went for a drive.
Karen I'm glad you enjoyed your pizza.Kenneth's cousin went home yesterday but she said she has been sleeping a lot with the pain medicine they gave her.I guess the police will enforce it here too.Abbott never said. He just said you can't be put in jail for non compliance.I picked up a curbside order at HEB this morning and they didn't have my Greek yogurt in individual containers so I had to go inside but everyone was wearing a mask and this was a few hours before they had to.I'm sure there are lots of people who claim they have a medical condition.People around here have been wanting this ordinance so I think that will prompt more to wear them.I saw where our city pool was opening but only by appointment and you had to wear a mask anytime you weren't in the water.I just don't feel comfortable going to gyms right now.I have been to Golds when I worked in Austin and there was one within walking distance from my job.I am just not into gyms anyway.I would rather walk or ride the recumbent bike.I don't know if they will continue to have church service at the same time or not.I doubt it because nobody will be there.Last time it was online only they recorded it the night before. We set new records every day.

Chele, my favorite bean dish is probably chili, either traditional or black bean. I have a WW recipe for lentil & black bean chili that's good. I also love Pasta e fagioli. So it's not pronounced “pasta fazool”? Other faves are black bean burgers and baked beans. Sorry to hear the eye is still the same. Eye problems can be so hard to deal with, so hoping yours will start to clear up soon. Karen, I saw that Trump quietly cancelled the rest of his rallies, but now he's doing this Mt. Rushmore stunt where they're proudly proclaiming that there will be no social distancing. I probably won't see any official fireworks from my house, but there's usually plenty in the neighborhoods around here. They're too close for comfort sometimes, but we've had a lot of rain the past couple of days, so it shouldn't be an issue. That would be great if they didn't bother Arya. She has come a long way. The local paper had a section on what to do over the July 4th weekend and it listed all the beaches that were open. Since other things are closed, I would expect them to be packed. It's possible for people to keep their distance while outside though, so hopefully people will have some common sense. Linda, that strawberry quick bread looks outrageously good. I'll have mine with icing. I had groceries delivered today, so that took up a chunk of time to put in the order and sanitize the groceries. Some of them were for DM, so I'll be delivering those to her tomorrow. I put the order in before lunch and it said up to 5 hours, so I went ahead and got something to eat. I didn't even have a bite before someone picked up the order and it was here in less than an hour. Things that seem low in the stores are some meat, paper towels, and tissues. No Puffs and I could only get one box of Kleenex! I was able to get a 6 roll package of Bounty. Other than that, they only made one substitution in the order and it was just for a different flavor in the same brand. I had a nice piece of salmon for dinner.
