Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful for that simple pleasure. It's already 70 degrees out there. I pray that it cools down as it did last night.
Going to have the chicken that we never got to have yesterday. Time had a way of getting away from us. Of course the power outage while shopping and then at home didn't help matters.
Off to complete my computer tasks and will CBL.
Wishing all an OP day where we plan track move and hydrate

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! Thanks, Ann, for being so faithful about opening us up each morning! You are truly a gem!
I also slept well last night except for some nasal stuffiness in the early morning, then I remembered that I somehow skipped my nasal saline rinse yesterday morning. I suffer with allergies and we did sit outdoors last evening for an hour or so, and that is probably what 'got' me!! Today I'll be more careful.
I started laundry this morning and have cleaned the bathroom and mopped the kitchen floor (which is drying now). I want to get everything done before it gets any hotter. It is already almost 80 outdoors and it's only 9:30 a.m. I will be staying in the A/C today for sure. The notification on my phone this morning said "One down, Nine more 90s to go". Talk about something to wake up to!!
I never did get back to my book yesterday so today for sure! I did all the plants yesterday and DH watered last evening, so they can be left alone for today. Our grilled steaks were wonderful last night along with the broccoli/grape tomato/feta salad. I added some chopped red onion and dressed it with Light Ranch.
I had my yogurt n' berries breakfast this morning. I am trying to like the Dannon yogurt, but so far not so much! I think I'll put it behind the new carton of Greek and keep it for back-up for a while, but there's no point in eating it if I really don't enjoy it. When it's date comes up, I'll just pitch it.
Time to switch laundry and replace the bathroom and kitchen rugs, then moving onto getting finished for the day.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue I never mind opening the doors to this wonderful cafe and 'chat session' I'm up early and it's now part of my routine...one that I look forward to Sorry about the allergy stuffiness. You are right, sitting outdoors is more than likely what brought it on. Yeah to the plants all being watered. Happy to say that while Carl is at Tractor Supply picking up godnowswhat...I am going to dry mop the floors. I've already cleaned bathrooms and kitchen, no laundry to speak of and yesterday I dusted. So......once that's done, so am I Going to be an easy peasy day around here and I'm liking the sound of that! Also not a fan on Dannon yogurt. Enjoy your book and the ol' bathroom and ktichen rug switch-a-roo Will pop in later. Waving................

We are wanting/needing to find some disinfectant wipes. We have plenty (at the moment) but I have opened my last back-up cannister from downstairs. On a hunch, I went on the "Waterford Everything" FB page and asked if anyone knew where there were some - and I got lots of great ideas! The very best was Menard's where someone said "they have everything" - and there is a brand new one down by our Costco. I called DH and he is going to check in there today in his travels. Someone also said Sam's Club has been stocking their own brand, but I've been there recently so won't be going again any time soon. Someone else said they recently bought them at Walmart, so I could check there next week? That's one more thing checked off my to-do list for today. I have finished the bathroom and the kitchen floor and put down the clean rugs and fresh towels. Moving right along...... laundry is well underway. I am going to wait and do the sheets and towels tomorrow. I saw that DH tossed down 2 loads of his work clothes (both jeans and shirts). They may get done later and they may wait for tomorrow. Once I dust and vacuum, the house will be done. Now I need to get back on track with my eating. My weight is up a couple of pounds, though still below my goal, but I don't want to be going in that direction. We have a rather 'pointy' meal planned for the 4th, so I may have to get serious next week. I'm not going to be walking in this extreme heat!! See ya .....

Sue I do hope you score those disinfectant wipes. Last time we were at Hannaford's the cashier that we've gotten to know asked if we needed any wipe. She went on to say that someone wanted to purchase 4 with a 2 limit per customer.....I wanted to HUG her big time LOL so we were able to get the 2 of them...and they were in bundles of 3 so we now have 6. I love a deal like that. Carl came back from Tractor Supply with all his treasures and is happy as a clam. No clue what was THAT important for him to traipse out to get. Oh well...so long as he's happy, I'm happy Everything that I set out to do is now done. Rest of the day? MINE We even walked miss LuLa again when he came home, as it's nice and cloudy out there with a breeze and it does look like rain. Time for a coffee and the kindle. Later

Good afternoon, I am being lazy today and trying not to descend into my down mood today. We were supposed to have Hotdogs & Hamilton with DD1 and DD2 today, but it got cancelled. As I suspected, something was up in the hospice office. A student worker tested positive for CV and another employee was exposed to CV through her family, in addition to the administrator who was exposed at the sheriff's inauguration. We all decided, it was just too big a chance to take. DD2 has rheumatoid arthritis and just the thought was giving her a major anxiety attack. We also cancelled my birthday dinner, which was to be Tuesday evening. We will try again on the 18th or 19th. I am very upset that those in the hospice office who were working directly with the student worker (not my DD, thank goodness!) will not be required to quarantine at home. If the healthcare entities don't follow the state/federal guidelines, how can we expect more from the general public?? DD1 disagrees with her boss' decision, but was overruled. She has been very careful when she has to post office guidelines to make sure everyone knows the decisions came from the top. Many of the staff are VERY upset, too, and I don't blame them. One of the nursing directors has a husband with severe liver problems and lives in fear he will contract CV and die. So, other than going to Mass this morning and spending some time in meditation, I have done absolutely nothing. The scale was down 1.3 lbs. this morning, which I attribute to the increased walking I have been doing, since my eating plan hasn't drastically changed. That means I need to get up and get after it in the morning. We are having thunderstorms now, but if they let up later this afternoon, I may yet get in a walk while it is cloudy and cooler. Breakfast was toast, boiled egg and watermelon and a PB2 & all-fruit sandwich on white wheat with a side of raw veggies for lunch. DH is making an Italian dish with shrimp, eggplant, tomatoes and linguine for dinner. Sue - DD3 recently scored Clorox wipes at Meijer in Whitelake, off of M59--not the one in Waterford. I think you pretty much have to find them right after re-stocking as they disappear off the shelves quickly. I still can't find them anywhere here. Ann - I think our DH's just need to get out and about a little, so they "decide" they absolutely need something, lol. Judy - Hope all is well with you and you are enjoying the holiday.

Pam so very sorry to hear of all the cancellations especially your bday celebration. It's such a shame that people have no regard for others during this time. You'd think those in 'authority' would jump at the chance to set an example. Keeping all involved in my prayers. Brava on the weight loss. Keep up the good walking routine. I'm sure that is balancing things nicely. Yup Carl gets antsy. Me? Not so much. I'm a homebody by nature. In that respect I take after my mom. Still not raining. I should go for another walk. Procrastinator that I am....perhaps later

Hi everybody and happy day before the Fourth of July!
We are at the Cape but it is strangely quiet and I am feeling a little down with no family around. I know we are all in the same boat end it is just so much more fun to be with our grandchildren, nieces and nephews and the whole gang as we usually are for the 4th.
Pam, I am so sorry that your DD two has coworkers who are not listening to the mandates regarding Covid. How selfish is that! I just donât get it and Iâm sorry that all of your plans had to be canceled including your well-deserved birthday celebration. I know youâll have a nice meal with your DH and that hopefully you will see your daughters in the next few days. Our DD in CA has been a little down too, well but sheâs coping pretty well. I also feel pretty stressed out as we have another negative refusal to negotiate and cooperate letter from DDâs ex husbandâs lawyer. My DH said that this is his way to try to wear everybody down thinking we will just give in and give up. He rejects every sensible proposal so I guess this will go on for a while. He is impossible. I canât even describe to you how bad it is. But, DD is working on her answer to give back to her attorney and she always likes me to edit and add my thoughts to help out. Itâs the last thing I want to do today, believe me but I will carve out some time later. The whole thing has my stomach in a knot and I think thatâs because I just donât know when or if this will get resolved. Enough grumbling and thanks for listening.
On a brighter note I made a lovely trip to our beautiful family large farm stand this morning and came back with all kinds of goodies. They had just picked corn and I got watermelon, local strawberries, sugar snap peas, medjool dates, tomatoes, cakes and Boston bib lettuce and a couple treats- homemade fig square for me and an apple turnover for DH. Our local Stop and Shop was jam packed and the only game in town so I skipped it and bought everything I needed at the farm stand including special whole wheat bread made here on the Cape and eggs. We are set. Dinner will be a Green Chef chicken veggie dish.
It is cloudy here but sunny and warm up the road. Iâm enjoying the book! Sweet Salt Air is a nice change. Iâm loving my new ukulele.
Ann, you crack me up with your descriptions of Carlâs shopping forays. My DH is the same but heâs usually at Home Depot or BJs and also loves his trips to the dump to drop off this and that!! In fact, just this minute he mentioned heâd like to take a quick trip to the dump! Good God- heâs always trying to rope me into going with him! Haha. I usually manage to wheedle out of it!
Sue, Iâm sure your heat wave will be headed this way! Hope you enjoy your peace and quiet reading day!!

Pam ~ I am so sorry for your disappointment today. I am certainly with you in wondering why people canât just follow the rules?? I have no problem staying home, I have no problem wearing a mask, and I certainly have no problem social distancing. Given that Michigan has had outbreaks caused by congregating in bars, it is even more important that we start adhering to the guidelines that are put out there to protect us. I donât envy your daughter having to post the guidelines, but by now everyone should know them âŚ. Theyâre reiterated on TV daily and have been for months now! We shouldnât have to have someone MAKE us want to protect ourselves and our loved ones. Hopefully youâll get to make up your good time on a better day.
Judy ~ Donât think anything about venting about the impossible jerk in your life. I totally agree with your DH that he is just trying to wear you all down. Donât let him!! I am so sorry that you are a bit âdownâ about the holiday. I am sure a lot of us are. I was grousing to DH about âno Alkathon, and no parade, and no festivalâ tomorrow. Our whole day was taken up with celebrating and we counted on it so much! But these are different times, and we will make the best of what we have to work with. We are looking forward to making BBQ baby back ribs with mac ân cheese. Rather like my favorite poem âI make the most of all that comes, the least of all that goesâ. Enjoy your time at the Cape!!
Ann ~ Yep, it is that âgetting antsyâ that drives my DH also. Fortunately he has plenty of places to go and things to do â and I am much more a homebody! I never did get to read today as I finished up some more laundry and cleaning is ALL done! Then I played some games then DH came home, then the time just got away from me.
Yep, those mysterious trips that our DHâs take is the stuff that imagination is made of. Yesterday mine did a bit of âscrappingâ which involved stripping down old parts and separating the different metals, then going to the scrap yard and turning them in. That serves a dual purpose in cleaning out his Shop AND putting some extra jingle in his pocket. He loves to come home crowing about how much they paid him! Today mine went to Menardâs and did not find the wipes but there was a big empty shelf. I also received some more recommendations of places people have found them, so Iâll try Walmart one day and then Target and see what I find. Also because DH wanders so much, I have him on the look-out for them as well. {{sigh}}
DH has gone off to retrieve two Green Apple salads for our supper tonight so there will be no preparation and no clean-up- YAY!! We have chilled watermelon in the fridge ready to take outside this evening for our sit-out. Our heat wave is continuing on â it is currently 93 but feels hotter! At least the humidity is not terrible at only 37%.
Have a wonderful evening, dear friends!! Sweet dreams!!

LOL Judy...Carl loves Home Depot Lowes BJ's and Ocean State Job Lots....if there WERE a dump here, he'd sniff it out and go LOL....I don't blame you for dodging that bullet LOL. I am so sorry for all the grief that SIL is giving you DH and DD. What a total moron he is being. I believe you DH hit the nail on the head when he said that he is trying to wear y'all down! It's got to be maddening offering DD comfort across the miles. Prayers continue. Always feel free to unload, Judy. Things are better when you talk about them.....(((hugs))) Wow, you really scored at the family farm stand. I love everything your bought especially the medjool dates. Those are so yummy. Enjoy your meal. Sue OMG we are having the same thing tomorrow....baby back ribs and mac and cheese I can't WAIT to dig in. I will kinda sorta watch portions...LOL.....however in the back of my mind is this....the 4th of July comes ONCE A YEAR lol.....so there's that I hope you find those wipes soon. It's just so annoying to go places only to find empty shelves. Our neighbor found some at Home Depot the other day. Enjoy your salad and watermelon. I still have to go to kindle first reads and get my free book Been meaning to do that. Also going to sigh off...... I managed to hurt my left foot, so I am not going to take the final walk with Carl and LuLa tonight. I've made my Garmin goal so that's a plus. Sweet dreams.............

It did cool off quite a bit after the rain (77) and the sun didn't come back out, so I walked about 2.42 miles and listened to my book, Defending Jacob. I have fought depression all day, so the exercise is essential for me. It also helps to unload here. Certainly better than eating my feelings which I did some of today. Judy- It's good to hear from you. I just read about the big jellyfish plaguing MA shores today. Scary! I have decided to start a novena for your SIL, that God will soften his heart and lead him to do the right thing. It is the Novena for Difficult Times. It might help and certainly won't hurt! Sue - DD's problem is the staff members who WANT everyone to follow the guidelines, but the Administrator won't require it of everyone. Crazy! Ann - The only medjool dates I ever ate came in a lovely Christmas gift from DD3's inlaws. It also had baklava, which we had never had, but it was all oh, so good! Have a lovely evening and a restful night!
