Good Morning Train Riders,
This morning it was 29º (feels like 21º) and going up to 44º with partly cloudy skies and wind NW 10-20 mph. It looks like our highs will be above freezing for the next ten days which is nice although the girls would probably like to have snow on Christmas.
Sarah’s Christmas program with some of the other schools in the area will be this evening and we’ll all go to see it.
King announced at the Seward High basketball games last night and Rachael went along with him. Rachael said the girls won and the boys lost.
Hannah and Rachael will be on Christmas break until January 5 but Sarah has to go back to school on the 4th. It would be nice if they could get Sarah’s school on the same schedule.
Maxine calendar: It’s the first day of winter. If you can call four and a half hours of sunlight a “day.”
Another Japan memory: I remember going fishing for rainbow trout at the fish farm at Lake Nojiri in the summer. We would take picnic things along with us and eat lunch there. There were quite a few ponds going down the hill. The fish were hatched in the pool at the top and as they grew the workers would move them down to the next pond. When they were large enough they were put in the pond at the bottom of the hill and people could fish for them. We were given a mash to put on the hooks and it didn’t take long for a fish to grab it. When we had as many fish as we wanted for our lunch or dinner they would clean and fry them in a batter for us and they were delicious. We would do this at least once each summer. More tomorrow.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Cloudy day but warming up, it's 30*
Last night DS#1 and I went to see the boys in their Christmas Program. They had to memorize 2 Christmas songs with the classmates and then a medley of songs with the whole school. It was very nice.
Today I'm wrapping gifts; I hate this part.
Have a great day everyone!

Hi!
We have a warm up for a few days. No white Christmas for us this year. Our kids will be out of school from tomorrow until Jan 3, I think. DD will be off that long, too, and she needs it.
I know Sarah will do well this evening. You will all enjoy the program. I'll bet the fresh fish were really yummy!
Emily I am wrapping gifts today, too. Not as much fun as getting them!
I am sorry to hear of Evesong passing. I enjoyed reading her posts very much.
Now, I'd better get started wrapping these gifts.
Prayers for everyone.
Diane

I love to wrap, should have a party with Emily and Diane and I would help!!
Bessie was on the old ProBoard so don't think she should have trouble doing it here, It kind of did a lot for us. If the old one still up? Haven't looked in awhile.
I didn't change the privacy settings. My email seems to be out there all the time anyway. Everyone wants it these days. Stores, Dr offices etc etc. ;
Doris the memories are fun to read. You have had a very interesting life.
Mine has been pretty boring with not much traveling other than trips to my family is florida as they all moved but me. have done some small bus trips after my DH passed away but those were not far and usually a couple of days. My one big trip was with a bunch of ladies to Punta Cana to an all inclusive resort. Had the time of my life and never felt so spoiled. the ladies never did another one, some have had real health issues and other had reverses of their finances. I would love to do that again sometime. Passport has run out.
Did read that our driver's licenses etc are not going to be used as a Id for much longer, everyone will have to have a passport to get on an airplane. Some states already have that, but not Pa. wonder if that will happen in my life time.

I think that snow ball in your front yard, Doris will be disappearing! It is so nice outside, seems strange that this is the shortest day. My sister just left. She took Abel's mom to work and Abel to school. Abel's mom's car is on the blink and she's working on getting another car going. So sister just stayed here until it was time to pick the first of those two up. We found out that both of us got Megan the same Christmas gift but I think we have time to do something about it. then my DB#2 and DSisIL#2 came over for a bit. They had used the gift they got from their renters, a night at a B&B in town. then she is going to have a bone marrow extraction to see if she has leukemia. We are praying it's all okay.
The doorbell just rang and a neighbor brought her Christmas letter and a small bag with a few chocolate chips. there is a note on it that says, "You've been bad so here's the scoop, All you get is reindeer poop:)" Good neighbors!
This morning I made potato salad and grilled chicken on the grill outside.

good afternoon, Delona and I didn't go to the y today. Chair yoga people bringing treats and Delona didn't want any. she wasn't going to bring anything so felt she shouldn't eat anyone else's. that's ok. we went to Panera and Mary (former ww came in.) we always have fun with her. then it was to tree house one last time. they are closing. then to the mall. I paid my Christopher banks bill, and Delona paid her penny's bill. then it was Sam's club I did not buy anything.
yes today is beautiful also. most of the main roads are clear. the side streets have packed ice on them. the weather will be good for Christmas travelers. helen I will add dsil to my prayer list.
doris enjoy the program tonight. phyl
