Good morning... IT IS Sunday... right?? I need to make it a SENSIBLE SUNDAY here! Looking back - I think yesterday went fairly well (eating wise), not enough water... as usual! Got my 6k+ steps, actually over 7k - not surprised! LOL I also spent some time in the pool, so more "moving" there - and I am feeling it today! OY VEY! My legs feel like I walked 10 miles! It's all good - just wish this was more normal and wasn't a once in a while thing! Working on changing that this month too!
Be right back to catch up - or at least try!!
Happy Birthday Gabrielle - Hope you get out for a drive in your NEW car! ♥

Sue: Oh dear... sorry Sarah had such a rough evening! We do what we have to do - and take the hurtful words, knowing they would not be said at all - if they were not under the influence! Oh Kellen must be with Josh at Colton's tournament?? Yes, it's interesting - how far Eden has come in the past few weeks at swimming... because she is only here - with a pool - a couple times a week! No morning swim today - Jaclyn laid down that law last night! LOL
Sorry DB Jim is so against the masks... and in TX! Like I have said I am not a "fan" of masks, but it's not a big deal for me either... pick my battles I guess??
YAY for a successful picnic!
Yes, we were in Pigeon Forge YEARS ago... don't think we actually stayed there, but hit Dollywood on our way from MA to AL, back in 1986. That is one of the options for our "time share" vacation, Ken still thinks Myrtle Beach - so we'll see! IF we ever get the go-ahead to book it!
We have turned the corner to the hot summer weather here! Thank Goodness!! Yesterday was a beautiful sunny hot day - perfect for the day! Pool water warmed up 2 degrees during the day. Hoping with the sum pounding down on it this morning - with the solar blanket on it - it might warm up a bit more, before we open it today!
WOW Poor Sarah, still kind of cranky when Jackson got home! Yup... between not feeling well and probably embarrassed too... hoping by today she has called to thank you for your concern over Jackson! {{{hugs}}}
Gabrielle: Glad you and Ed could handle the fruit stand for a while... I assume you require masks - even though you are outside? Did you install Plexiglas or anything to keep customers away from you a bit??
Oh yes... Tim asked if they could stay another night... so he didn't have to drive home at midnight! Of course I said yes! I'd rather they stay (even unexpected) then be on the road at that hour after a long hot day - and who knows on the road with them! He had not been drinking much - mostly water, so it wasn't HIM I was worried about... but ya' never know at that hour of the night - and being a holiday to boot! As you probably saw on FB, the eclipse was a no-show for us. IT's sad, we watched the darned moon so full and bright for a few hours... then when it was time for the eclipse the darned cloud cover came in! UGH! Such disappointed little girls! Oh, LOL, Yes... had they KNOWN they were staying - Tim would have brought the telescope - but again, HE had not been included in the discussion! UGH! So when Patti was getting ready to leave, Zoë started "begging" her Mommy to "pleeeeeaassssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeee, can we stay for the lunar eclipse?" LOL She was so cute... how could I say NO!!? So I kept Zoë too! What's one more?? She settled down shortly before midnight (we all did) and SHE is still sleeping - no surprise there!! Tim & Jaclyn are getting ready to head home - they want to be home for Eden's Children's Church Service (live stream) at 11:15. That was "the deal" last night... we can stay BUT no swimming in the morning - no hot tub - and we are leaving early... she was agreeable to it all last night... this morning not so much!
We went to Atlantic City several years ago... spent a few days just walking on the beach, didn't step one foot in a casino! But the area is beautiful. I think this time we will opt for another area... will still be crowded - most likely - but we won't just SIT on the beach, so we'll distance and just spend some time on the beach - hoping not wall-2-wall people. Yeah - I will see what Nancy will want to do, or able to do... but I do hope I can get her OUT of the house and AWAY from it all, for a couple of hours.

Ken cooked breakfast this morning - now the kids are leaving... Zoë is still sleeping - so I may go back to lie down for a bit! OH Nope... Zoë JUST came down! See what I mean about my plans lately!? LOL
I'll check in later - going to be a nice laid back day... with the usual "Saturday" chores... laundry - dishes - prepping for the week ahead... ugh, it never ends!

Morning all....had a fun chat with Carol, catching up on life in MA and how things are doing opening up for them. Sounds like all are doing well and cautiously enjoying little bits of "normal"! They actually brought Auntie Priscilla up to the house yesterday for a cookout!! She was very happy to be out and not stuck in her house alone with Charlie, the cat!!
♪♫♪♪ Happy Birthday Gabrielle♫♪♫♪
WOW Gabrielle....long day for you yesterday! I saw the peach picture on FB yesterday...so jealous!! We don't have any peach trees right now but even if we did, it too be another month or so before you can get fresh peaches at the orchards here!! So is Ed's car mission just about complete??? It's funny, after Jason got back from the lot he ate a late lunch then went downstairs to string the batch of snap peas he had brought home...I asked "not going outside??" and he said "no, the older I get this heat really takes it out of me!!" Glad he took a couple hours in the house to let the worst of the heat pass and then he went back out again as it started to cool down!!
When Jason got home he looked so funny....he hit a bumble nest with the mower and got nailed twice, one on his elbow and the other right between his eyes and it was all puffy and red, not to mention the fact it was covered with mud....yes, the "old fashion" remedy for bee stings!! He looks more normal today but still a little puffy!!
We did have a fun evening and morning with Jackson yesterday.....they boys do love being the "only one" when they visit...then they get to chose everything from meals to movies!! It's fun special time for all of us!! Just wish it had been planned and not spur of the moment!! Ah yes, it's hard to listen to Jim and his wild views on the virus and stuff....can't figure out how people can think of this as a political plot against USA???
Sarah did come out to talk to Jason later yesterday....she started right in on me and Jason stopped her immediately!! He said..."it was NOT mom, it was me that noticed your behavior first so if you want to be mad at anyone.....be mad at me!!!" She immediately got a bit sheepish and changed her tune!! He went on to explain that if Josh was home it would have been another story but since she was the only adult she was not capable at that point. While Jackson would likely have gone to sleep and all would have been well but heaven forbid something happened she was not in any shape to make an adult decision. I know she will cool off and all will be fine...Jason did say that she was talking to Tracy too as he was leaving and I know Tracy understood why we took Jackson home and will be another "voice of reason"!!

Thanks Carole for starting us off this morning...you just beat me, I actually was ready to start and looked one more time and saw you had just posted!!
I actually had a pretty creative title ready for today....not sure what "inspired me" but I had "Stand Up Sunday" in mind....guess the 4th got me thinking...yesterday we were to stand up for the country we are lucky enough to live in and today we need to "Stand Up" for us....stand up and make the choices for ourselves that are right for US regardless of what others think we should be doing....we need to stand up for ourselves and get the rest and "me time" we need to recharge and stay healthy physically, mentally and emotionally....stand up and say NO when we just don't have the time, energy or desire to take on one more thing.....if we don't "stand up" for ourselves, no one does!!
Yes, it is Sunday....holiday weekends can kind of be a blur, especially when you have the extra day like I did on Friday....thought it was Sunday all day yesterday!! Glad I woke to an extra day off today!! Not much planned...just a bit of laundry to get my work clothes ready, will do some HB eggs later too....but that's pretty much it!!
Sounds like you had a fun, pretty active day yesterday!! Yes Carole...I think it would be great to get into the pool and take advantage of the exercise it can offer!! It is amazing how you actually "work" muscles with just the resistance of the water!!
Yes...I know Sarah would not have said many of the things she did but I would do it again!! She came out swinging and trying to defend herself but we knew it was best to let her "sleep it off" and as you already saw...she was mad at ME....and knowing it was her dad kind of made her "rethink" her assumptions and not be so quick to point the finger at anyone.....she always assumes that "I'm the bad guy" but yesterday....Jason was NOT letting her throw stones at me!!
LOL...sorry Eden couldn't get a morning swim today....I see that Tim, Jaclyn and Eden stay again last night...Best not to be on the road at that hour too on a holiday weekend, not knowing how many impaired drivers might be on the road after celebrating all day!! I saw staying up late for the eclipse was a bust....bummer! I was asleep long before 11:00pm....after tossing and turning the night before, I wasn't even going to try and stay awake! Probably a good idea as it might have been cloud covered here too! LOL...you had Zoe the night before, so like you said, what's one more!!
When I chatted with Carol this morning she said they went to Newport on Friday and did the Cliff Walk....the one beach area had people on it but looked spaced apart and everyone on the walk had masks...pulled down until they got close to others coming past....I was glad the hear that!! Their youngest daughter and BF went to visit family on the Cape this weekend and said that people were being pretty good about social distancing. Seems the farther north you go for the beaches the more diligent people are about the precautions still needed moving forward. As we all know the southern beaches were "business as usual" and now are paying the price and closing back down!!
Yes...I hope you can get Nancy out of the house so she truly has some time away from all the chaos...I know her mom is really a handful some days and a lot to handle with the business, virus and all the stresses in her world!!
Time for something to eat....i'ts so hot and sticky already I don't feel like doing anything today so have a feeling I will NOT be overdoing anything! LOL!!
Back later...have a great day all!
