Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Woke up to 73* temps this morning. Another 90+* day in store. Humidity is climbing. Even with AC I can feel the heat. Part of the area lost power overnight. As soon as it gets to a decent hour Iāll call my friend to see if they lost power. They just got a puppy last week and Iām sure the heat would be bad for her. Iām sure they would go to the basement if it got too hot, thatās what Iād do. My basement isnāt finished, but I do have an old vinyl couch that I could sleep on if I had to.
Dottie - glad you had a nice time at the lake. Iām sure they kids enjoyed the boat parade. Other cashier has a pool and said she practically lived in it all weekend. She always invites me over, but with my allergy to chlorine I donāt go.
Ruth - yes I did get the pics. I meant to reply, love the curly hair - so adorable. And nice to see Carol too. I donāt know how you manage to stay up so late. Ever since thyroid issue, I barely make it to 11, mostly in bed by 10:30 at the latest. Glad the cpap is helping.
The nightly fireworks are definitely over, none the last 2 nights. I was talking to one of the sales guys, heās a volunteer firefighter in my village. It seems that awesome fireworks display that I watched Friday night caused a small fire. And he said the heavy smoke was an issue on the 4th. They drove around the village several times that evening just to make sure everyone was safe. Lack of rain could have been a real problem, fortunately it wasnāt.
Rain is in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, canāt wait. It will cool down over the weekend, but back up to mid 80s next week. Itās been too hot for my walks, even in the mornings. I have done some YouTube workouts, better than nothing. Iām definitely not a hot weather person.
Waiting for my tv to arrive. Should be here between 11-1. Canāt wait.
Enjoy your day

My tv was delivered... holy cow! I went from a 32ā to a 50ā. I might never leave my living room again! š
I watch Supernatural every morning , itās like the characters are right in my living room. Great way to spend part of my stimulus.

Joyce, I know what you mean about the larger screen on your new TV. The set we have in the family room is 52ā and it does make watching TV nice. There were still fireworks going off last night by us. They are actually in the next town over but we can still hear them. They stopped about 10:30. Enjoy the new TV.
Ruth, it seems like you and Stan accomplished a lot yesterday. Sorry to hear that the Ninja Foodie recipe didnāt work out. Was that the first time he used the Foodie? I hate when I have spent time and $ on a new recipe and it isnāt any good. We had some rain last night but not as much as you have had lately. We have a lot of shredding building up also. I have been taking it to the senior center but of course they are now closed. Bill has a shredder in his office but it is mainly for light duty shredding.
I watered my flowers yesterday morning and planned on doing the garden in the evening. I was watering the garden just as the rain started. It was predicted for yesterday afternoon but we never got any then. It only rained about 30 minutes but it was a nice soaking rain. Neither Bill nor I slept good last night, donāt know why, but I think I will take a nap after lunch.

Good late night all. Joy, enjoy that tv. We can only have a 45ā tv I think because it has to fit inside an entertainment center that we had built into the wall when we had the house built. Back then we had a big tv but it was one of those deep ones. Now I wish that whole wall and the bathroom wall behind it could be re-done and weād have more room in the bathroom. We bought the tv we have now very carefully by measuring itās entire length and height and it just fits in. Iāll send you a picture.
We spent more time than we should have today messing with T-Mobile and Apple. Stan has an iPhone; an Apple Watch and we use T-Mobile for our phones. His watch has taken to putting itself and his phone (they are connected because he has cellular on his watch) on Airplane Mode or Do not disturb. A nuisance, but still a pain sometimes. But worse, his watch has started making calls on itās own. A couple weeks ago when he was out running, he called me and asked me what I wanted. I asked what he was talking about and he said his watch (he doesnāt take his phone on runs, itās why he got this watch) told him Iād left him a message. My voice he said. Well my phone was in my purse and I was doing something else so I had NOT sent him a message. He hung up, and his watch then proceeded to call all 3 of our children. Called Heather twice; she wished him Happy Fatherās Day the first time. Our DS Brett said he thought it was a weird way for his dad to get him to wish him a Happy Fatherās Day. Turns out the 4 of us are his emergency contacts and we have no clue why it did it. Then 2 nights ago in the middle of the night his watch started making the noise you get when someone elseās phone is ringing after youāve dialed. Woke us both up. Said it couldnāt go thru because it was a bad #. Last night at 1:00 am his watch started ringing and he got up and when someone spoke, he asked who it was. Turns out it was our older DD. She was groggy and DH felt so badly about waking her up. I told him to turn his watch totally off. Today we went to T-Mobile and they said itās a watch issue but sent us to Apple. Went to the mall (not happy about that) but Apple wonāt see you w/o an appt. so home and called customer service. Used the Microsoft fix and after un-joining the two devices; turned off the phone totally and re-set to factory. Then updated it and re-connected it with the phone. Only time will tell if it worked or not. Other issue I have is DH puts his glasses on the bathroom counter at night; rather than on his nightstand where the other things are. I told him he MUST start putting his glasses there too. Because he fumbles around in the dark and canāt see anything and then he stumbles into the bathroom to find his glasses to do anything. And Iām too tired at night to deal with it/him!!
DS says his supervisor wants to schedule a call with him tomorrow. Heās afraid he may be let go permanently. Time will tell. And DILās DM is in the hospital. She has the breast cancer that has spread and didnāt want chemo and is not doing well. She was out shopping (no mask) and collapsed in a store. Taken to hospital with a collapsed lung. Didnāt let DILās DB tell DIL she was in hospital for about 48 hours. This was middle of last week. They put a tube in her lung. Took it out the other night and part of lung re-collapsed so they waited over night to see if it would expand on itās own. It didnāt and totally collapsed so sheās back on a tube for a couple days; then theyāll try again. They are all afraid itās tumors in her lungs that are causing the damage and DIL is afraid itās just going to be a downward spiral from here. And that sheāll pick up something else (COVID even) that will do her in.
Ok, enough drama. More tomorrow! More SOās tomorrow!
