Well no phone call from any social worker today so if she doesn't call by noon tomorrow I will call them and see what's up. Mac called me at least 20 times today sometimes he hasn't been calling as much but today it was like every 15 minutes I'm just I feel all dragged out tonight. And then I did a dumb thing I ran out of coffee. I don't know how I let myself run out of coffee but even though I don't drink very much of it anymore I do look forward to at least a cup and a half a day anymore. I even have a headache tonight. I'm sure that's from lack of caffeine.
On one of mac's phone calls he told me that the therapist told him today that they are having a big meeting with the doctors and the social workers and the nurses and everything tomorrow about what they want to work on for him. So maybe the phone call I had yesterday with the therapist helped some. He also told me he was getting some feeling and he could move his left hand some. So that is something new he hasn't been able to move the left hand at all. I have noticed the last two days that he seems to be speaking clearer and not having to hesitate as long to think of the words as he did. Hopefully that's a good sign.
He still is overly concerned about whether I'm paying the bills or not and he also gets very upset if I tell him I bought anything he says I'm spending too much money. But actually we are saving a lot of money because he's not driving somewhere every day like he was. He used a lot of gas.
I finally got the refrigerator and the freezer both like I want it. I took all the frozen vegetables from the big freezer and put them in the refrigerator freezer which is much closer to the stove and the counter tops where I work. I also put all the faux meat over there. I took all the baking supplies like chocolate chips and nuts and that type of thing and put them in a bag and put them in the big freezer to give to my granddaughter as I don't bake anymore and she does. Somebody might as well use them. I'm hoping this will make it a little bit easier for me to cook more nutritious food. And not rely on processed stuff.

good morning, everyone. No I didn't like peanuts in my coke, tried it once. did like lemon or cherry coke back in the day at the soda shop.
Had a really nice rain yesterday, could have done without the wind though. But doesn't look like I have many sticks to pick up. the one branch that I have been thinking was going to fall is still up there.
plans for today is to press some things off. I like my skorts pressed off but that is because I like the cotton or denim ones more than the knit ones. Already getting summer clearance catalogs. I'd like a bathing suit cover up so may order one now that they are 60% and over off regular price. and they go fast. My DGD needs some Mary Kay things so will order them too, my stuff comes in the mail don't have to go pick it up. But then I mail it to DGD. But she wants a book of mine as well. So will make up a good package.
Jenny, I think your reorganizes sounds good. I don't like a lot of clutter even in my fridge or cupboards. Got rid of a lot of stuff I don't use anymore and don't stock up like I used to with food. Was throwing too much away that was expired. Or that I didn't want. Now I only buy the necessities that I use all the time. If I want to make something different it goes on grocery list and I make it soon as I get it. Sometimes I think about it and never do get the ingredients as I have changed my mind. I always thought my MOM made the same things all the time as she was older and living alone. Now I do the same thing. Just don't buy as much as she did. She liked to be "stocked" up. and so much she never used. Used to find stuff over expiration dates by 5 or 6 years in her cupboards. guess you could tell MAC about how much you are saving now that you are alone , but then I guess he would think you weren't paying bills.
Hope everyone that has been under the weather has a better day today and Kathie, I do think you are overdoing. and that ankle is telling you so. Remember ankles take a long time to get back to normal and sometimes they never are the same. Maybe slow down a bit? Be nice to your self.
I don't think I told you I do like the blanket this month.

Hi! Lucy, I loved peanuts in coke -- or in Dr. Pepper! That little treat go me through my late shift in the college library! Jenny, have you really not told the social worker that Mac was taking care of you? Kathie had the right idea -- they need to know. We love you and want you to have the help you need. Connie, I know you enjoyed your summer rain shower.
I used the toaster oven to bake our chicken breasts last night. They were yummy and I ate too much! I use it for toasting bread, baking biscuits, baking chicken, making our pasta bake, and baking muffins and brownies. In other words, It's my oven of choice.
DGS2 is a rather young 14. His autism makes him less grown up than the average kid, but we are trying to bring him up to grade level in his school work. He is a really sweet boy, and has excellent memory, but drawing conclusions and using a model to solve a new problem are very hard for him. Once he masters a concept, he can do that kind of problem, but mastering it takes great effort. I respect his teachers a lot.
I made my first pan of rolls with my starter this morning. They are actually rising. Cross your fingers. They are in the oven with the light on for a little warmth. I hope they really work this time.
It is a very warm morning, and was already in the 80s when we went out for our waffle. It could go into the high 90s later today. We'll be inside taking advantage of the A/C. DGS is working on a French exercise, and has already finished his art and his Algebra. This week, we are more organized with DD and DGS here. We follow a routine. DD will break for lunch at 12:00, so that's when we'll eat lunch. A little different than our usual approach.
Have fun today! Diane

Good Afternoon Red, White and Blue Patriots,
We are having a quiet day today, not much going on. I haven't been outside, but it looks pretty out there, nice and sunny and a bit of a breeze.
I don't have any special plans for today and will just wait and see what comes up. The Home Health nurse came this morning and checked me out. She said everything looks OK.
As soon as MJ gets her lunch fixed I'll get mine, maybe just a PBJ sandwich and some chips today.
Aunty Acid: I'm glad it's the thought that count...because I sit here all day thinking about the stuff I should be doing.
I hope everyone has a great day today.
Doris

You know I never really thought that Mac was taking care of me. Though he always told all the neighbors that. They all had the idea I was bedridden or something. They didn't know I still did all my own care. I hope I haven't given people the wrong impression here. I have always done the cooking. I wash my own clothes. I take my own showers. I've always taken care of the dogs and made their food. I've done a lot of little things but he also did a lot of little things. Like he did the dishes and took out the trash and the shopping. He did a lot of walking like he was the Gopher guy. When I needed something he would go get it and it's saved me a ton of steps. I have tried to explain that to them. I can take care of myself but I can't take care of somebody else. That would be just too much for me. It's just been getting harder and harder for me to stand long enough to cook and even though I want to I just don't because I'm not able. I would not be able to cook and serve him his meals and clean up afterwards. But I bet it's going to come to that and I don't know how I'm going to manage. It's very worrisome to me. And his attitude doesn't help me at all. He's already called five times it is only 10:30 here. Once he said they were having a meeting to see who was going to be discharged next.. I guess in his mind it's a first -come-first-serve type thing or you're on a list and when your name comes up you go. He said he was going to tell them he'd stand aside and let somebody else have his spot because nobody wanted him at home anyway. And if they did discharge him he just tell them to drop him off at Motel 6. I just hope today is not like yesterday. That was way too many phone calls and it wore me way out.

Hi all,
Another HOT day, already took a quick walk and did a Costco run, tomorrow it's a Costco run to the business center.
Did finish two birthday cards on Monday and have them on Pinterest; working on the parents anniversary card, already have it designed jus need a sentiment; after those are done then two graduation cards one needs to be done this week too.
Jenn, have you contacted your county services, they are there to help and provide you with services and people to contact; and I agree, you do need to tell they everything! Like Mac being YOUR caregiver, your health issues as they play a big part of your ability to do things, etc. Jenn, please tell them what you just shared with us. I can't believe that there is no help for you or Mac. Have you thought about assisted living? I don't want to sound like a broken record so that's all I'm going to say.
Sandy, hope you're starting to fee better today.
Lucy, nope never did the peanuts in coke.
Diane, how's your starter?
Doris, is Hannah going to start university in the fall or continue with another gap year?
Have aa great day everyone, and may you have something that makes you smile and fills your heart with love, remember it doesn't have to be anything big or planned, usual the small unplanned brings the greatest joy.

I never had many cokes but I had a few with peanuts.
I've been gone all day. When I got home I put my groceries away and sat down. My camping friend called and is planning on August. I told her about my therapy schedule but it might work. I don't do hot summer and she hasn't in years but this staying in is getting to her down. Bill fried fish that his son caught and we played rumicub.
Jenny, I have wondered if assisted living would work.
Later, later.

Hello!
Congratulations to Diane on her sourdough baking success!
Sandy, congratulations on reaching goal! Hope you feel MUCH better very quickly and can enjoy your new loose clothing.
Linda, thank you for trying to help with the editing issue in the private messaging section. It just isn't there!
Lucy, you certainly have a busy life . . . and so many friends want your attention. That's a blessing!
No, I didn't care for peanuts in my Coke -- with it, but not in it. Lots of the other kids liked that though.
Kathie, I see that you are again getting only four hours sleep overnight -- plus the hour-and-a-half nap of course. Sure hope you are able to find a way to get some consistent rest.
Connie, I'm recalling the saying, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, I am my mother after all!" Now I see that I'm YOUR mother too! LOL! I am so used to looking for the larger product with the lower price. It's very difficult to change and purchase the smaller container that may be another dime higher, but will fit in the place I have chosen for it.
Doris, please tell us tomorrow how the girls' schools are going to work.
Sue, how are things in The West? Hope you and DH are not only coping well, but also enjoying life.
I'm watching a new series starting tonight on HGTV, HOT MESS HOUSE. Perfect program for me.
See all of you tomorrow! ~~Molly
P.S. Marlene, if you're checking in, please let us know how you are! We miss you! Regarding masks, there are four Youtube videos from The Fabric Patch in the state of Washington in which you might be interested. The one I found most interesting was "What We've Learned from Making 165,000 Masks." Then there is a follow-up that answered the questions from the previous video.

I went to Walgreens and picked up my medication. I also asked about my blood pressure medication (Valsartan) which the pharmacy is having trouble getting. I sent a message to my doctor to see if there is something else that he can prescribe. Besides the usual bed making and dish washing, I did some shredding after I emptied the shredder. It was in the mid 90's today until a thunderstorm rolled in late this afternoon. Temperature dropped and we had a very noisy thunderstorm with some rain. The last I checked it was 75 degrees.

Don't know if anyone noticed we are missing Sandy tonight.......She didn't post on # Partners either so I am very worried. I don't have her direct email or phone # or anything to reach her.
Jenny: No Mac wasn't your caretaker but he always did the heavy things and now he won't be able to do those things -- even if he can get himself to the bathroom and dress himself, he is going to need help that you won't be able to do. So, yes, please start calling someone. The social worker should be able to give you intelligent suggestions but as I said you need to advise HER that you are not able to pick up the slack. They will assume he has someone strong to help him when he gets home. Jim is a lucky man --- and without a fractured ankle I can do a whole bunch of stuff but boy was it a strain when I first fractured it. Remember Bobbie used to come 3 times a week to bathe him and do light cleaning for me. And, now she is coming 7 days a week to help with Shana also. It is much better now......I hurt sometimes in the evening when I have done too much but most times I am OK now. I'm even back to all my gardening again. I got huge compliments on my front of the ranch since I've even started the grass growing over the new septic tank. And, I do get around the whole ranch when I walk Shana at 7PM. One of the boarder ladies bought me a bird feeder today...She left it on my porch and it looks like a big red barn.....sooooo cute! I'll find a place for it where everyone can see it. She signed her little note Love from Lena and Bella (her horse)......I'm still giggling about that. I had told her about the hawk and the blue bird last night and she knows how bad I felt about that.
Tucking you all in now in our SOFT FLUFFY AMERICAN FLAG BLANKETS.....(I LOVE MINE TOO!)....sweet dreams!
