Day 9 – Select an Exercise Plan
Here are Beck’s reasons to exercise:
Exercise helps you stick to your diet.
Exercise might help control appetite.
Exercise boosts mood and soothes stress.
Exercise burns calories.
Exercise preserves muscle tissue.
Exercise builds confidence.
Exercise makes you feel better physically.
Exercise improves your health and prevents diseases.
She says there are two types of exercise: spontaneous and planned.
What is your exercise plan?
How have you fit it into your day?
What do you like about exercise?
Heads Up: Day 11 (Thursday) entails a monitoring chart to differentiate between hunger, desire, and cravings. You might want to do it ahead of time so you can discuss the results on Sunday.

Right now I do about a 30 minute exercise video every day at 4 p.m. They were posted by a physical therapist to one of my Facebook groups and she also posted them to her YouTube page. Right now I'm using the ones on her YouTube page because she isn't making new ones this week. I am so happy I'm doing some exercise. My usual answer to this day is "I'm not exercising."
I like doing exercise because it helps me to age well and takes care of my body.

bbbearsmom, can we have that link to the YouTube page please? I'm doing 30 min walks near daily. And I tried a couple of floor exercises but I cant see the computer clearly when I do them, and I feel cramped in my office and don't really have a good space to work out in the house.

What is your exercise plan? I walk for 20 minutes at a time three times in the morning. I do it between typing up messages to groups online. I have added in some wall pushups and calf raises. What do you like about exercise? I feel better and my temper is more mellow when I exercise.

We all know I am a consistent exerciser. I am so lucky to have a fairly complete gym set up in my basement and I actually enjoy exercising once I get started. I do it to maintain strength, flexibility and cardio health, and for vanity's sack.

I love walking and bike and know the value of core. A good week also include 2x yoga. And swimming if/when pools open.
as to the why: Health, of course, but the mental benefits of being in nature, alone or w others is something not easily replicated elsewhere.

bbbearsmom, Awesome job! What made you decide to make that change? I have always enjoyed exercising, particularly in groups. I love working out in my basement and using my DVD's. Since January, I have committed to a minimum of 30 minutes daily. I love my walks and Jazzercise online classes. Exercise lifts my moods and the strength building gives me confidence.

luvvinlife, I didn't decide to make a change it just happened. The videos are chair exercise videos and I like chair exercise because I'll do it. Once I started doing them I really got to like the physical therapist doing them and I enjoy her mix of exercises. Also since she is a physical therapist I getting tidbits of knowledge on how the body works.

@bbbearsom, I enjoy her sessions too. I feel safe doing her workouts and she’s very frank about expectations.
