Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Welcome Martha. Thanks for the tip on using tofu. I’ve heard that it takes on the taste of the spices and food it’s combined with, time will tell if I use it.
A couple of malls are opening today. I’m not a mall shopper and the anchor stores that I occasionally shop (JCP and Macy’s) have been open for weeks since they have outside access. They figure a lot of people might wander the stores for AC.
Another hot day today. We hit 98* yesterday, record for the day. Today we’re hitting a record number of consecutive days where we hit 90*, it will be 8. Rain and cool down for Sat-Sun, warm next week but I don’t see 90* days.
I’m getting used to new tv. Figured out YouTube, internet access and hooked up my DVD player. I’m going to start my morning walks next Monday, adding an indoor exercise every day too. I just have more room in the living room than my spare bedroom, and the ease of use of the tv will hopefully motivate me to do more.
I’m going to make apple cinnamon pancakes for breakfast today. I use bisquick, apple, cinnamon, half an egg, milk ... will be a nice 5 point breakfast. I use SF syrup, no extra points there. I’m making overnight oatmeal to take to work tomorrow. And I’ll take some of the summer bean salad to work since they serve pizza and I’m done with that for a while.
Laundry on today’s agenda, and I’ll stay in the basement and putter with the clutter. I have another bin almost full to take to the garage. Donation centers are opening for drop off and pickups. Planning on scheduling a pickup, probably late August. I want to give myself enough time to get everything ready.
Enjoy your day

Other than doing grocery shopping tomorrow morning, I stay home. Well, except for my walks around the neighborhood. Today I will: finish making grocery list, water the garden and do some baking. Exercise & meditation will be done very shortly. My spare room is screaming my name. I need to make a schedule/plan for working on that.
Have a good day!

Joyce, how did the pancakes turn out? They sound good. Sounds like a good plan to do your exercises in the area you have more room. Good luck with working in the basement. I have some things ready to drop off, we can go to several places to drop things off.
Martha, we all have areas like your spare bedroom. I find working on it a little at a time works best for me.
Waving to Ruth, hope things are going okay. Did you pick up Mara?
I had to go to the place where I bought my hearing aids and pick up some more ear pieces. The audiologist usually gives me a nice supply, the receptionist just gave me 6, I seem to have to replace them more often during the summer so those won’t last long. I have to call my insurance company and I think I am eligible for new hearing aids this year and plan to check out Costco. We didn’t make it to our neighbors pool yesterday because Bill can’t swim for 3 to 4 days. The doctor took a biopsy and the results should be ready in about 2 weeks. The doctor said that it is probably negative but before he can send Bill to the surgeon they need to know what they are dealing with. Bill will have to go to a surgeon to have the growth removed. The main problem is it is on his shin and due to the fact that there isn’t much blood circulation in that area the recovery will take as long as 4 to 6 weeks. He will be able to walk and everything just the actual healing will be slow.

Good late night all AGAIN!!! Can’t believe I’m just now getting on here again!
Busy day. We dropped off a box of about 30-40 pieces of clothing for a gal in the trailer park near us. 18/24 mo for her toddler girl. I’ll put together more and take down to drop off in a few days. I was surprised she said, “I got it”, but no thank you at all afterwards. Oh well. Then we went and picked up the books and a couple swim suits for Harper (gal listed the suits this am, so I got one for here and one for their house). Then kept trying to get ahold of DS and was worried. They had a bad night (think reality is hitting him) and he didn’t get to sleep until after 5:00!! He slept thru his therapy appt and her text and email checking on him; and he slept thru my call and messages; and he said he slept thru 2 alarms to get up for therapy. I was really getting nervous. Ended up waking him up; told him we were 5 min away; so just wake up Mara and we’d take her and he could go back to bed. While he was getting her ready; DH mowed their lawn. He had decided on the way there that he was going to do that. I’m sure DS appreciated it. He was crabby when he first texted me but was better by the time he brought Mara out and DIL got up and came out too. Got home with Mara and I put her down at 3:30 and left for my haircut. Then a stop at the store on the way home. Dinner and unloaded / reloaded the dishwasher and a little while playing in the backyard (black flies were biting).
Dottie, DH has been impressed with the service and all at COSTCO with his hearing aids. I’m not impressed with the way they work (he keeps insisting he thinks it’s a perception of the spoken word rather than hearing it problem); so who knows. But then he takes them out when he puts his pj’s on and then watches 2 hrs of tv w/o them and doesn’t understand when I complain about how loud it is.
Joy, enjoy that new tv and the extra room for exercise! Welcome Marsha. I’m Ruth in MN. And I have more than just a spare bedroom calling my name. So much clutter! A work in progress.
ok, need to go to bed shortly. Don’t want to be tired tomorrow with having Mara. Marsha, she’s 2-1/2. Will try to get here earlier tomorrow!
