Good Morning ~ Hooray for a day off! and for our Weekend to begin The rain cleared just a bit but promises to be back remainder of the day - which is fine as we REALLY were starting to need it. I have plenty of things I want to tackle inside that was 'waiting for a rainy day' so I'm actually glad not to be sidetracked...but then I might end up having a 'Do Nothing' day lol Which would be fine too! Woke up at my regular work day time - and immediately took a shower. Then realized, wait, WHY did I do that? I wanted to go for a long walk!! Well, I still will in a bit and the heck with it - I'll just take another shower if needed LOL Later this morning I am going to help Linds color her hair - our hair stylist apologized over and over but she will NOT be reopening due to her immune system being compromised BUT she will provide our color and supplies. It worked out super for me so I'm excited to try it again for Lindsey - her color is very unique, sort of like a deep red/deep burgundy color which Ashley mixed just right for her - LOL - so we'll give it a whirl. Gotta do it earlier than planned as Linds' manager asked her to switch work shifts to this morning/afternoon 11:00 AM shift - we are all hoping this rain brings in the customers to her Brewery. I'll be taking my DM tomorrow - I feel bad she is complaining of Cabin Fever - so I offered to take her today but then tomorrow will be better as it's no rain and we can sit outside on their beautiful patio! She likes that idea too... So I must have been thinking, 'Gotta help Linds with her hair early' which prompted me to get up and at 'em

Good morning!
Well, it is 4:30 am and 73 degrees outside--it is going to be another hot one! 102 degrees yesterday. Yes, I am in agreement with Christine--hooray for a day off! I already have so many things swirling around in my head that need to get done this weekend. Long run today, early and then I will get started on the list. I am running near home today--there was a group heading to Lake Tahoe (which will take a full day for a run since it is at least a 90 min drive and some people will take 5-6 hours to get their run done). DH is still hurting so he didn't want to go (and the fruit stand is just opening so that is in the back of his mind as well). I have to say---here in our county we now have 300 cases of COVID since March and 150 of them are from Lake Tahoe area--only 17% of the population is there, but 50% of the cases. I don't think going there is the best idea right now.....but I think that people think "it is only our group of 15" and before you know it, 100 groups of 15 people are up there and all over the place. Oh well, DH and I will be local. The run by myself will be nice anyway to think through what I need to get done.
Yesterday I asked about a Zoom at 1:30 PST (4:30 EST) on Sunday, 7/12---Jenny is okay with it. Any others?
Carole: I am assuming that you are home with Tracy now? Unbelievable about the power outage! But now you have checked out of the hotel alone and know how to do it next time, right? I hope that Tracy is not feeling too much pain from all of this. Will she have PT at some point too? So glad that the surgery part is behind you now! So what else is on the agenda for the weekend? Girls coming over to take care of Tracy?
Christine: Lindsey's hair color sounds so pretty! You all are lucky to have girls in the house to help with it--yahoo for your stylist mixing up the colors for you! It's amazing how much better the good coloring products are! Sounds like a nice day to stay inside? Love that you might just REALLY take the day off! I am looking at the front planters and realizing that I need to get out there weeding again...probably super early tomorrow--around 6 am or so before it gets too hot. I need to water to loosen the soil a bit. How fun it will be to take your mom to Linds' place tomorrow! Yes, outside would be so much better! Have a good day!
Hello to all who follow--I will be checking back at some point today---hoping to feel more "on top of things" after this weekend. I am feeling so disorganized right now! Be strong everyone!

Good Morning... not feeling all that "strong" today, but will work on it!
We made three stops on our way home yesterday (blood clots are always on my mind - but more so yesterday)... one for a not-so-healthy lunch, then at Dunks for a Not-So-Healthy frozen coffee... then in Greenfield for DINNER... which was Not-So-Healthy, but I didn't eat much! LOL I truly just wanted to come home and go to bed, but Tracy wanted to go to dinner with the family (for her BD) so I said W.T.Heck??
It certainly was a very long day! HOT... Heat doesn't bother me - humidity is "starting" to get to me, but yesterday was a nice weather day (for me) to walk, and sit and wait... Rains held off until we were driving home, one real DOWNPOUR but for the most part didn't affect the drive!
Oh and a stop at CVS for pain meds... I think she took one when we got home, then got an ice pack and settled in - in her own bed - and is still sleeping... She is very self-sufficient, so although she may be "in the way" around here, she will mostly take care of herself!
Let me refill my coffee and be right back ♥

Sue: Hoping to hear yesterday went well, and you are set for another week - to "help" and not be so stressed out?? Your painting came out great - hey Those slates looked HUGE, the ones I have are not that big - I don't think! I will try to remember to measure them today - oh and count... you were wondering how many I have - just remembered that! Sorry.
Christine: How was the surprise party last night?? Hope it went well - and Cheryl was truly surprised.
Oh Ladies - I was so "happy" to be sitting just across the street from the hospital, on a nice bench under a tree - I LOVE CITIES, so it was nice to enjoy the skyline view! I wished I felt more comfortable walking "away" from the hospital - but I wanted to be close by. Fenway was only 1.3 miles from where I was, but I didn't think a 1.3 mile walk was good - IF I had a call to return to the hospital!
Anyway, all in all, the day was OK... of course my mind was "busy", but sitting there - for a little while - I actually just got into my book I had with me!

Christine - Thanks for starting us today... STRONG Saturday for YOU! Geeze, already showered and getting your day going practically before I was out of bed!!
Yes... weekend... YAY! We are expecting chance of showers, but right now it is clear - bright - not quite "sunny", but seems to be heading that way! I don't care about the weather - I have inside stuff to get done today - so it's all good!
Yes, we too needed the rain... and we did not get the "flooding" that places elsewhere got - so that's good too! Now we are looking at a cold front?? Coming through?? Hmmm, not looking forward to that, but oh well, we'll deal I guess!
Ah, nice you can help Linds with her hair color! Glad your stylist is willing to mix colors at least! Good luck! Oh dear... good luck tomorrow taking DM to the brewery... hope she is on her better behavior for you - & Lindsey!
Gabrielle: Oh my! We are also at 73 degrees... now... at 9:00 AM! 99% humidity...
YAY for a long run - even alone - so you CAN think through your day. UGH Yeah I think I would avoid Lake Tahoe at this point! How has the opening of the fruit stand gone? DO folks respect the mask & social distancing?? Good luck to you there {{{hugs}}}
Oh I will not be on the Zoom call... we are doing the birthdays tomorrow, but please do not change the time on my account - being a Sunday - with family here, I can't be sure WHEN they may actually LEAVE! LOL
HA! No - I opted out of having the girls today, so I could just have a day... to get some things done - or just sit and read if I want! I need to get things ready for tomorrow, and maybe some things for heading back to work Monday... want lunches pre-portioned/packaged, as the week will be a tough one for me! Tomorrow all will be here for the above mentioned birthday party... I bought (only 12) mini-cupcakes for Tracy, my sister Pat will have her cake... I bought GF mini cheesecake for Jaclyn... and Tracy requested "blizzards" I ONLY bought cupcakes so I have a place to put the candle for Tracy! LOL She ONLY wanted the ice cream treats! We are doing the usual hamburgers, hot dogs, hot sausages... potato salad and beans. THEN my sister decided to r=bring shells and sauce... and Patti is bringing a buffalo chicken dip and chips... so (once again) Too.Much.Food.! UGH!
This will however - be the LAST big family cook out! Next week for Zoë's BD Patti and Kathy are bringing pizza! They offered - I chose to accept! No cooking/prep for me & Ken, easy cleanup... we will naturally have a cake, but Zoë will be "celebrated" with her favorite food - Pepperoni Pizza! LOL Then following an easier party here (for me) I am off that week! So WIN-WIN for me! First day of vacation will NOT be wasted by cleaning up from the previous day!
Oh Gabrielle - I do hope this weekend can bring you some sense of organization! I hate that feeling... good luck hun! ♥
OK Now time to get moving... just need a shower and DO MY HAIR, then figure out the day ahead! I think Tracy is going shopping with my sister, so I may be home ALONE for a couple of hours! WOO HOO!!! LOL
Might CBL... ♥hugs♥

Morning all...been up for hours, just relaxing watching "Christmas in July" on Hallmark! Never made it back last night...was just done for the day!! No real plans today except the grocery store...no baseball because each child can only have 2 people attend so only Josh will go the next two weekends....I'm OK with that, Jason was still planning on going but I made the decision a couple days ago that I wasn't going regardless!! Then the decision was made for me anyway so I'm happy!!
Had a great time painting last night....very different painting on slate but it was fun. It's more porous in spots but shiny and hard to cover in others because of the way they have worn and weathered over the years!! Really do love the look!! Need to pick up spray polyurethane to seal it before I can set it outside!! It's on my Walmart list!!
Time to catch up the past day or so....
Christine....yes, next week with 3 of us it will be back to 8:00 - 4:00 again so that alone will be nice. Plus with 3 of us we can keep up daily and even catch up on a slower day....thankfully Friday was like Thursday and fairly quiet so when we left we were current with orders and while there is still a back log of a few tasks we are no farther behind....we were able to catch up a little bit the last couple days so the back log isn't as ugly as it was earlier in the week!!
What a fun surprise for Cheryl last night....so glad the virus cooperated enough so the event didn't need to be cancelled!! I'm sure it was fun to see colleagues and former CEO....hope the weather cooperated too!!
Carole...glad you did a "trial run" in the morning for the COVID test so you were more confident flying solo on the pick up trip!! PAY??? I never got a screen to pay to upload a picture?? That's odd! WOW, it really is a rural trip to the hospital....looks like it's in the middle of a neighborhood!!
Gabrielle...we too are in a "heat wave"....stringing a bunch of days in the 90's together...yes, we have a few 90° days but not for this many days in a row...the humidity is ugly too this past week and next...will say today it's not so bad, this is a "nice" summer day....upper 80's but lower humidity to start out....that is supposed to increase as the day goes on so it will be sticky for sleeping tonight I'm sure!! Hopefully you will get a break in the weather so you don't have to be w/o power for days on end....will say that is something I would NOT be a fan of!! I'm sure everyone is prepared with generators....we would be sunk!! No generator here so we would have no bathroom, no water, no nothing!!
Yes Gabrielle....so many times we look at people and presume they are "scary" when in reality they are indeed very nice and very helpful!! Still no word on who will fill the new position I passed on....it is off the company website now so it has likely been opened to the masses now...who knows, maybe they didn't think anyone "in house" was a fit!! I'm so glad I opted to NOT move forward with it! Nope, not expecting or waiting for an apology from Sarah....it's kind of "understood" as the kids move forward and put it behind them!!
I'm with you...I have no desire to be packed like sardines in a movie theater....will say that if they only allow 25 per screening there will be MORE than enough room to social distance but still, there are enough other options to watch movies at this point....streaming on the TV is so easy and affordable now if the moving is not "free" on something you already have like Netflix or Disney +.....
Oh my Gabrielle....sounds like if you are back to distancing learning this fall you will have more paperwork and tracking to add to your already hectic, busy schedule!! Still waiting to hear what the districts for the boys will be doing...I think they are making a final decision the end of July....since Hannah has been in OK all week I haven't heard if a decision has been may for Papillion yet!!

Jenny...see you tomorrow!
Carole...WOW, what a fiasco getting to the hospital for the COVID test....glad it was cleared by the time you went back to pick Tracy up!! Are you kidding...no power at the hotel??? What more can go awry??? Here we thought all the pieces were in place for you to hang out at the hotel and wait with the late check out...so much for the best laid plans!! Glad you had a nurse liaison number to call while you sat outside waiting....will be eager to hear why the delay??? Sorry the walk wasn't any good "sights" but at least you got some walking in while you waited. No worries about the hair, no one will notice but you anyway!! Glad you could at least go into the hospital to use the restrooms....Hey, the view from the bench was kind of pretty...guess it was a nice spot to hang out in the shade!!
Christine...thanks for starting us off today...I was up but just didn't feel like logging in!! I opted for a cup of coffee, the fan and the recliner watching Hallmark for a while instead! LOL!! We are still waiting for some rain...we got NOTHING from the tropical storm yesterday but just east of us by about an hour got pummeled!! You'll be extra clean today with two showers!! Did you think it was a weekday and just hopped in the shower on "auto pilot" Glad your stylist is being very helpful with providing you and Linds your "color mix" and supplies to do at home....I'm sure if yours turned out fine, Lindsey's will too!! Glad you will be able to take DM to the brewery and enjoy the outside seating tomorrow...best to stay outside as much as you can still at this point!!
Gabrielle...it was warm overnight here and mid-70's when I got up!! Sounds like a good idea to NOT head to Tahoe today...not only because it would take all day but WOW, 17% of population but 50% of the cases of COVID!! Not a place I would want to be at this point....
Carole...good idea to make plenty of stops on the way home yesterday....blood clots from just riding in the car is always a concern and just out of surgery for Tracy was an added concern. Yes, Tracy deserved to make her birthday a little bit special since she started it having surgery!! Last night one of "painting buddies" stopped at a local bar on the way to the studio and treated everyone to a "hard coffee"...it's a yummy frozen slushy and it was a wonderful treat after my long week!! Not so healthy either but hey, can't let it go to waste, right??? I'm with you...I love the heat but the humidity really does wipe me out and the older I get, it seems like it's worse!!
Thanks for measuring and getting a slate count!! Depending on the number, maybe I can give them to Lacey and plan a private party for me and have her paint us something special just for us....whatever the size and amount....they will be appreciated!! I was surprised how big the slate was too but according to Lacey they are standard roofing slates??? Who knows???
Carole...glad you took the time to read for a while when waiting for Tracy...a 1.3 mile trek to Fenway was probably not a good idea anyway yesterday....just in case you got the call to head back to pick Tracy up!! Glad you are "girl-less" today so you can get things done before you party day tomorrow and work week beginning on Monday....will give you a chance to get organized and at least partially prepped for the work day lunches! Glad Tracy doesn't seem to be in too much pain. I'm with Tracy...I'd take a blizzard over a cake any day.....YIKES...I see lots of leftovers from tomorrow's gathering!!
I love that Zoe will get to have her favorite pepperoni pizza for her birthday!! Sounds perfect and I know she will love it!! Glad next weekend's party is a little or no prep party for you!!! WIN!!
Safe travels Jo....had to laugh at yogurt but nothing to eat it with!! I know this year it will be very different but enjoy who arrives and cherish the memories you make!! How long of drive is it?? I'm sure you mentioned it but I forget!!
Shelly....by now you should have arrived at your destination and enjoying some fun family time!!
Waves to anyone I missed....time to finish up my leftover panini from last night....then plan to head to the Sam's and Walmart so that job is done for the weekend! Will pop in later when I can!
