Good Morning - slept in a bit today - woke to Sunshine but calling for mostly cloudy day which is fine - and WOW did it ever RAIN yesterday! We had torrential rains blown in from Lisa's Chicago area - everything is looking fresh and wet this morning I didn't make it out the door for a morning walk yesterday, but I DID go after the rain cleared - took our ColbyGirl who was so happy to greet all the neighbors lol It was an easy walk - short but sweet - plus still very humid after all that rain. I am dressed and ready for a good morning walk today! Only 67 degrees and nice out here - (sitting on my quiet front porch as the whole fam is UP and loud and got their tv's going) I tried an old wives tale for the cramping of my legs - I gotta tell ya, it was driving me nuts! I cannot get this figured out why I'm getting such painful cramps in weird areas of my leg (side of ankle, shin, toes) so I put a bar of Ivory pure soap in a sock at foot of my bed. LOL. It worked last night - or something did - lol First time in weeks I did not wake to crazy cramps -

Good morning - Let's keep it SENSIBLE today ladies!! I am up - slept late than usual, but MAN Would love to still be in bed! NO sunshine - No rain... not sure what the day will bring, but need to get things ready inside - just in case the weather has us inside!! I didn't get as much done as planned yesterday! I got a LOT done - just not the stuff I planned to do... oh well... it is what it is!
Our niece Justine texted yesterday to see if she could come up to see Tracy. Her kids are with their Dad until tomorrow morning - so of course I said sure! I feel bad for her... she is taking care of her Dad (DBIL Doug - motorcycle accident) more than her Mother is! She sleeps downstairs, so she is closer - since his hospital bed is in the dining room! Just a messed up situation there - so I let her come up to get out of the house for a night! HA! DSIL was worried when Justine was leaving... "with me upstairs who will help Daddy?" Ummmm..... how about you stay downstairs one night - to take care of YOUR HUSBAND??? Anyway... family party today!
Sue: Glad you don't have to make the decision about the games!! LOL So if each kid can have 2, why can't Jason go??Only Josh?? Interesting take on the slate painting... but yes, even water, runs off the slate in different "patterns"!
WHEW! Sounds like with three of you working this coming week, it will all get caught up - depending on what comes IN for orders. Yes... it was weird... haven't gotten that "pay up" message again - so must have been a "glitch" - but easier to take a picture to post, rather than try to post one from my gallery... very odd - for sure!! LOL Yes the hospital was definitely in the middle of a neighborhood! I was thinking though, our local hospital is as well... close to downtown Greenfield, but only thing you can see from the hospital is private houses! Ah Sue - IF we lived where they shut power off as in CA, I bet we;d have a generator too! A lot of folks around here have them anyway... but yeah, if we lose power we have no water, toilets, showers, nothing as well! We too are in the "heat wave" this morning the humidity is down to 79! LOL Probably not for long!
Oh when does Hannah head back to NE?? I bet she has had a good week with Shea - hope they got to do something while they were in OK.
Jo: Hoping you got to Madison safely... who ended up traveling with you? Both kids? LOL Sorry you didn't plan your snacks better for the road!!
Sue: Yes... sitting on the bench to read - hearing the sounds of the city... I loved it. Not sure there was much "delay"... she was scheduled for 10:45, and the first incision was made at 11:44... they had to get her in and drugged and sanitized... oh not sure why no one ever called ME... but that's over... she will call her surgeon's office this week to ask some questions... she doesn't remember if they mentioned driving and such in post-op. The only thing she remembers is they said to take a pain pill before bed, whether you think you need it or not... and keep dry for 4 days!
Yup - the humidity has NEVER BOTHERED ME UNTIL THIS YEAR! UGH! It is brutal!! Yesterday was a hot one too! Today - MAYBE?? - It will be less humid? We'll see!!!
HA! "Standard" Roofing slate.. no.such.thing.! LOL WE had three sizes just on our house and our barn... I think the ones we have in the cellar were "Standard" for the barn... the ones outside are "standard" from the house... but then we also had a third size on the house... scalloped design and different colors... I don't think we saved any of them.

Mornin' Christine - YAY for sleeping in a bit - and being dressed and ready to get your walk! You are doing so good at that these days!!
Thinking of you as I sit here listening to the news about Disney opening! No park hopping... lots of restrictions - masks... someone flew from CA to FL JUST for "Opening Day"!
Was the rain GOOD for your yard? Or too much?? We are up to 73 now, but still no sun... betting on rains today... better get my dining room table ready for lunch! LOL YAY for Ivory Soap!! Hey whatever works... good luck it continues to help you sleep better!
OK I need to get moving... like I said have to get the DR table ready for the day... just "clutter" on it - mail, etc. Then need to finish the potato salad... and pull meats to cook... better clean off the island too - since the food will most likely get dumped there for "buffet" serving.
Need to carry some laundry upstairs to fold/hang later...
Just.So.Tired.Today! ♥hugs♥

Carole - I meant to tell you how proud we are of YOU for making it through Friday! lol Seriously, that was a LOT of 'if it could go wrong, it DID go wrong' events!! Geesh, I can't stand it that the hotel lost power, the street was blocked off, and the hospital was in someone's neighborhood! SMH , BUT you did so well finding a park bench in a nice shaded area. Thankful the rains had not begun from that crazy tropical storm moving up the coast - did you get any of that inland? Or are you too far from the area? Glad Tracy seems okay from the surgery, good enough to go shopping the next day? Wow! Good for her! Hopefully you had time to just enjoy your quiet house for a bit...I ended up choosing the DO NOTHING option for my rainy day lol AND loved it!
Early on I did help Lindsey color her hair (messy messy job) which honestly was stressful as SHE was so anxious about doing it ourselves. We called our hairstylist, Ashley, twice for clarification on her directions - there were many steps to doing this color not just slathering color mix on - everything had to be timed just right - and my gloves leaked so my hands are burgundy color - BUT the result turned out so nice for Linds - she is SO SO happy and relieved. Whew. Once she dashed off to work, Carly left to join Ben at a friend's Lake House rental - once the weather cleared she said they took the boat out, and kayaks.
I watched the Disney+ channel: chose Pixar movie, "Up". I had never seen the whole thing and really enjoyed it! Then I took a nice quiet nap. Ahhhh - good day for me to just recharge.
Gabrielle - I'm planning to take my DM to Lindsey's work Brewery today for a late lunch so I am not sure if I'll be home for the Zoom meeting. Yesterday DM was complaining of a 'queasy' stomach so we might reschedule. If she's not up to it I WILL join you girls! Sorry for last minute on that one - Hope you got your long run in - yes, I agree, why chance it going to Tahoe to run? WHY would the group insist on going to Tahoe for your run?? That should be more the question...
Sue - Waves to you - hope you enjoyed your Saturday - I'm heading today to local grocery for meat sale on chicken. Will stock up - our prices are not nearly as good as your sales but it's nice to buy in bulk and wrap/freeze to have it.

Jenny - will you be able to return to your 4 Day work week now that everyone seems back on routine schedules? That would be so nice. Hope the heat is not as bad up your way compared to Gabrielle! Jo - ENJOY the lake house!! Whoo Hooo that it has finally arrived for Vacation Time! If I were you I would just chill and enjoy and relax. Whoever meets ya there, meets you there. No worries. Shelly - OMG I saw the FB pictures of Chesney in her Dance costume. So stink'n cute! And you, my friend, look beautiful and HAPPY!! Yay for your VACATION time! Loved the pictures and I'm so glad you are traveling to see your Boys. Okay everyone, time to get moving - I DO want to get this Walk in

Morning Carole, Christine and all to come....
Slept in a bit this morning finally....woke up at 6:04 to pee and did NOT want to get up again that early so I went back to bed hoping for a few more "winks" and didn't wake up again until 8:15!!! Filed my unemployment claim for the last two weeks...I actually declined claiming since I was working but it keeps my claim open because after Friday, I may be right back at home?? Will find out later this week. You know, still the waiting and wondering game for me!!
Had a relaxing afternoon/evening yesterday after I got back from Sam's and Walmart....got some peaches at Sam's that are AWESOME....I don't usually buy peaches in the store, usually stop at the orchards for them but when I walked past them heading for the golden kiwi and Rainier cherries I could smell them. They are Sierra Rich variety from Wawona company in Cutler CA.....never heard of that variety before but even Jason loved them. As a treat last night I got out my Nutri-bullet and made a wine slushy with lots of ice, a peach and a golden kiwi...added about 4-6 ounces of white wine and it was a nice refreshing treat!! May just make myself one again to enjoy while we Zoom this afternoon if it works out!!
I was also amazed when I went into both stores they had someone outside the stores not letting anyone in w/o a mask. Before it was recommended but no one made an issue but yesterday you couldn't go in the store w/o one. The guy coming in behind me wasn't going to wear one but the kid at the door said he had to...when the guy said "it's my rights and I don't have to" the kid calmly responded "yes, you are right but it is our store and as a business we can refuse entry to anyone not complying to the request....if you want to come in to shop, you will need to put on a mask"!! I was impressed at the calmness of the kid. The guy did pull one out of his pocket and grumbled the whole way in. I did see the guy later and he still had it on, but pulled down a bit!!
Christine...glad you got to sleep in a bit today too!!! We have bright sunshine and actually a beautiful breeze coming in the back of the house!! Sure wish you could send some rain our way....stuff around here is looking a little wilty...Jason has had to water this week...even a couple days with a 1/2 inch or so would really help!! Glad you managed a nice walk with Colby Girl after the rains cleared!! LOL, it was 79° when I got up at 8:15 this morning....going to be another hot one today!! OK...never heard of putting Ivory soap in a sock at the end of the bed for leg cramps but if it worked....go for it!!
Carole...thanks for starting us off today....looks like you and Christine were both up and at 'em around the same time!! Another one of us slept in today...must be the day for it!! Glad you had a pretty successful, productive day yesterday...funny, we never seem to get done the things we hope to but hey, what you did get done is off the list!! Maybe company won't stay too late today so you can finish up and be ready for the work week ahead!
Glad Justine got to get out of the house alone and get some time for herself. Really....why isn't DSIL sleeping downstairs to take care of her husband....why is that Justine's job??? Sounds like a really odd family dynamic there!! How is DBIL doing since the accident??? How is Tracy feeling today???
Carole...Colton's two were Josh and Amanda.....Sarah couldn't go either!! Speaking of Amanda she told Josh since they are at the same baseball complex next weekend they should just take the weekend that they have Colton so Josh and Sarah would go this weekend and Amanda and her hubby next weekend....Josh said "no, I will attend both weekends to see my son play, besides if Sarah would go we would need a babysitter for the other boys so no, I'm not giving up my spot to see him play"!! Amanda's response was "of course you need to be difficult and get your own way!!" Really??? Now that one made me really LOL!!! I'm so glad Josh didn't cave and let her have he way again!!

Carole....we should get caught up this week with 3 of us back at it....two of us were able to keep current with the order processing the last two weeks, it was just the other things like entering new inventory, entering destroyals, filing, etc....all the little things that just get put on the back burner!!! The only "big thing" we have is the last of the MEAP jobs which is 727 entries this time.....I will likely be doing that 1st thing tomorrow so Tonya and Gloria can keep up with everything else!! Now that I think about it Carole...our local hospitals around here are all in neighborhoods as well....guess when I think Boston area I assumed it would be in the city?!?!? I'm sure if we were in CA we would have a generator as well...some people do have them here but not the vast majority.... LOL, our humidity is down a bit this morning too but according to the forecast it is not for long so I'm enjoying it!!
Hannah actually left for home yesterday morning and texted about 7:00pm our time that they were home safe and sound. Not sure if we will chat today or not, she now has to unpack, get back to some sort of routine again so she may just take today to try and re-group then call Monday or Tuesday which is fine....not sure what they actually "did" while in OK except enjoy spending time with daddy!!! I'm sure we will get the details when we chat next....I know she posted some hiking pix and other things off and on during the week but when we chatted last Sunday they didn't have any real plans in place at that point. They actually stayed a couple extra days since the guy that was supposed to join Shea at the house had to quarantine on base for 14 days and didn't get to the house until yesterday so they were in a big 3 bedroom house alone and took advantage of the time!!
Well Carole...maybe the surgery was "on time" and they took her back at 10:45 and it just took that long to make the first incision??? Is it her right or left elbow?? Not sure I know but that might make a difference in when she can start to drive. Not really great to have a person coming out of anesthesia responsible for listening for post-op instruction. I'm sure she will get the details when she calls the office tomorrow!! Bummer she has to keep it dry for 4 days in this heat and she can't enjoy the pool while she is off!!
I don't know the first thing about slate but maybe they have "standards" for different roofs??? Houses are one size, out buildings another and then the oddball decorative edging type!! Any slate will be greatly appreciated!! The one we used on Friday was 12" x 24".....I need to spray it today with the polyurethane to seal it...picked that up at Walmart yesterday!! Will take it outside and do that later today but don't want to kill the grass so will ask Jason to get me a couple saw bucks so I can do it in the driveway and up off the ground!!
Honestly Carole and Christine...when I heard that FL still planned to open up Disney in light of the spike in cases in FL I was shocked....with all the restrictions, many people will not be going...I know my niece and family are cancelling their annual membership until this blows over more....even with the discounted pricing they got as long time members even they think it isn't worth it....

Carole...aside from a load or two of laundry, making my HB eggs, roasting some squash w/onions and peppers for the week to add to the proteins that Jason will grill when he gets home....the ONLY task I need to finish today is the DR table....it' has again reached the point it's driving me nuts!!
Christine....always nice to have a "do nothing" day!! Mine will be that way today...what I do have to accomplish won't take long!! Glad Lindsey's hair despite all the steps and timing of it turned out nice and she was pleased with the outcome!! Hopefully your hands won't be burgundy for too long!!! Glad Carly got to enjoy a little time on the lake....I love to kayak at Codorus...we hope to get our own kayaks when we are retired. Jason actually got one from the neighbor for himself so we just need one for me and life jackets...with the lake basically in our back yard.....it will be fun to pass a few afternoons a week during the spring/summer months!!
I love the movie "UP"....made me cry in the beginning but a sweet story!! Yesterday I watched "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" on the YouTube.....it was free this weekend on the "Show Must Go On" series....they do a different musical each weekend!! I hope to get a chance to watch "Hamilton" today....maybe while I'm sorting through the junk mail on the table??
Christine...we are lucky that the one grocery store does that amazing chicken breast sale a couple times/year....we aren't always that lucky with pork or beef so we just have to watch the flyers weekly for those! We always stock up and freeze for later....never know when you will get another good sale!!
Today Jason just left about 15 minutes ago to head to the lot to pull most all the beets...apparently they really grew the last week and are so crowded now they have to come out. He'll head to Ann & Bob's (Bob is the guy that helps him at the lot) and they will cook them off, pickle them and jar them for winter. I can't even stand the smell of beets, they truly make me gag, so this is a job I do NOT help with....Bob has a huge kettle he can put on the fire outside to get them cooked off in HUGE batches to save a lot of time....then as they get done they go into the house where Jason and Ann peel them, cut them in chunks and get them in the pickling brine to finish cooking and then into jars. It will take 5-6 hours today depending on when Jason gets to their house. Thankfully the timing of the beets worked out that they could get them done today....next weekend Ann is away visiting her daughter in VA and they couldn't wait for 2 weeks so they would have had to do them after work a few evenings if they didn't do it today..... So, I have the house to myself!!
Time to get a move on...might make a protein shake for breakfast today.....not in the mood for something hot!! Can use another one of my peaches!!!
Waves Gabrielle, Jo, Jenny, Shelly, Lisa, Nadine and anyone else that might pop in!!! Have a great "sensible" day!!!

Good morning!
Well, I've been up since 5:30 am but started the day with a cup of coffee while reading the posts from yesterday, then went outside and weeded for a couple of hours, attended my WW studio Zoom, set up our Zoom for this afternoon (and emailed the link to everyone), helped DH open the fruitstand, tracked my day, read today's posts, and now (at last) I am finally here!v I have a lot that I hope to get done today in preparation for the week ahead. Yesterday was the first Saturday of really having the stand open. It was a good day sales-wise. My long run was SO hard--it never really cooled down so I was hot from the beginning...just made it feel so long. Today it is supposed to hit 103 degrees so all of the blinds are closed to keep the house cool...it does help.
Carole: So glad to hear that Tracy was feeling up to going to dinner on Friday! Sometimes the "hardcore" pain meds they give at the hospital will really help that way...hope that she stays on top of the pain meds as it can be so overwhelming and miserable it you don't (and I think that it effects your healing time). Wow, lots of dessert choices for the party for all of the birthday people! It will be nice to have family around, won't it? Especially after your stressful trip to Boston for the surgery--really crazy all of the things that happened. Yay for Zoe getting her pepperoni pizza and making it easier for you! I remember when all she would eat was macaroni and cheese (I think that was it--I remember that she dug in her heels about trying new foods). Hope that today is a good day and that you get a GOOD night's sleep---you sound tired.
Christine: Oh, I hope that you can join us, but we understand if you can't. I sent the link to everyone just in case someone wanted to pop in at any point---even if only for a few minutes. That is very interesting about the Ivory soap and your cramping...when you said "old wive's tale (or something like that)" I thought you were going to say that you had a teaspoon of mustard...people swear by that. Whichever it is SO glad that it didn't wake you up! Good news! So, you are one devoted mom to have burgundy hands!!! Wow! Will it wash off? Glad that she likes it but, a real sacrifice for you! Oh, and good job getting your walk in too--keep up the good work!

Christine: What a coincidence--a few days ago I watched "Up" too! I love that movie!
Sue: Sounds like more normal hours for you next week--nice! Wow, that is quite a commitment for Jason and the friends to can those beets! I freeze fruits and veggies but have never felt the desire to can things. We remember that you wrinkle your nose at the poor beet---personally, I love them. Nice that you got some good peaches! Yes, most every fruit (except watermelon) the smell is a good way to predict the flavor. Glad that Hannah made it home okay---sounds like a nice visit for them (and, hopefully, a break for Hannah). I brought up some peaches from the stand to make DH a pie---he LOVES peach pie. I just like a nice sliced peach on cottage cheese for a snack--some protein and the sweetness hit the spot. Hope that you have a good day!
Jo: Saw you pop in. Is Steve not with you for the trip? Only the two kids (or maybe it is Steve and Emilie?) Hope that you made it with a relatively easy drive!
Hello to all who follow....
So, today's WW Zoom was GREAT! It was about training your brain to let go of an "old way" of doing things and setting up a new way to accomplish a goal. She used the analogy of a worn path: The old way is a worn, easy to travel, path you have been taking for a long time. The new habit is a more difficult path. Grass is in the way, rocks that you have to kick out of the way, etc. But, as you continue to travel on the new path, it gets easier and the old path gets overrun and more difficult. Your brain is like that. So, my goal is to PRETRACK each day in the morning instead tracking during the day. I will be happy to have dinner planned and I will be sure to get it done no matter how interrupted and crazy the rest of my day is. Anyway, good meeting! Okay, see you girls later this afternoon or tomorrow on here if you can't make the Zoom.

Thanks Jenny and Gabrielle for a fun chat....love to hear the laughter!! Time to get the veggies roasting in the oven....Jason is cooking the chicken for the week now and will put the steaks for dinner on next!! Been a quiet, productive day!!! Not anything big or super time consuming but feeling ready to face the week!!
Hannah might call to FaceTime around 7:00pm....that's the usual time but not sure if she will just need today to regroup!!
See you all in the morning!
