MONDAY MINDSET... that mindset where we know we need to regroup - and REEL.It.In. From the weekend... Ahhhhh, for me it's 3 down - 1 to go! Parties (that is) Not pounds!! WI has been UGLY this weekend... Yesterday was OK... wasn't feeling very hungry - and did drink more water than I EVER drink during a family party! LOL I can't remember though if it was 3 or 4 of my 22 oz bottles - which is not my usual 100 oz, but sure better than a normal Sunday! Slept OK... awake a few times, but went right back to sleep - even slept until the alarm! BUT woke feeling groggy - tired - headache... UGH Going to be a long day!!
We do have leftovers from several meals for this week - so little to no cooking will be OK by me! LOL It is my 4:30 week, so I am home earlier, but now I don't have to worry about it IF I have to work later.
I "need" to refill my coffee and then I will be right back ♥

Good Morning ~ I am OFF today to use up some leftover Vacation days...still have 3 more to use before end of the month Carole - thank you for starting us off today. I woke earlier than I wanted but now I have a quiet house to enjoy Very cool outside for the start of our day - much needed! As these hot temps were starting to get draining by mid-day. How did the family gathering for Tracy's Birthday go? I saw you drank more water than usual for your Sunday - Hooray!! Good Job!! Sue - glad you were able to join the Zoom call yesterday - I had my hands full here with DM She was experiencing a 'queasy' stomach for last few days when it dawned on me that she was probably getting dehydrated! Yep...sure enough, that is the road she was heading down. We have had HOT temps the last few days/week and she still is not using her central AC. She insists on setting it to 'fan' and not 'Cool' thinking she is saving tons of energy and money! Grrr....she needs cooler air not fans blowing hot air around! Drives me nuts - plus she does not drink water. Tea does not count (sips a cup here and there). So I spent the evening up at her house trying to gently nudge her into drinking water and some Gatorade I brought her. She finally agreed to Pedialyte as she remembered last year how that really helped her feel better.

The original plan was to take today OFF to help Linds with emptying the large items out of her apartment and moving things back home...but then she invited friends to come stay with us this coming week - which will be fun but WHERE will they sleep if she moves big things from her place into here? So we will put it off one more week in order to accommodate sleeping arrangements Gabrielle - I meant to tell you last week I had to take a course from Johns Hopkins University on Contact Tracing - the Prince and I both did it and now we are 'Certified Contact Tracers' ! lol Not that I would actually do it as we agree, our local county's Department of Health will take that lead, but it's good information in understanding the latest research on how COVID-19 spreads, the infectious period and understanding isolation vs quarantine and the timing of it all. Our concern is if we have students that must quarantine and miss school OR if one of our teachers must quarantine, what is the expectation and how do we plan for this? Last week I was really fed up with the Deans of Students at work. They are glued at the hip and go EVERYWHERE together, never once working on a project without the other. It is so annoying - the giggling, clique'ish behavior - and the quick turn of 'Mean Girl' behavior is ridiculous. Friday I was working steadily on the Contact Tracing course (it was 8 hours of videos and reading) when Queen B called from the Curriculum Director's office phone - she had me on speaker but never identified who was with her in the room - and started rapidly firing off orders of how I was supposed to re-write the Attendance Policy to include On-Line Instruction and that I had to have this done far sooner than the August deadline the Prince gave me and that she was copying the policy a Pittsburgh school wrote - whoa - I was so confused. Especially since I knew I was to do the policy and had already discussed the details with the Prince and didn't need her issuing me orders! I calmly asked her When did she need my updated work? Um...by July 23 she replied...I calmly said, fine, I can work on it next week as the Prince had me doing a different project with a deadline much sooner than her timeline - then I heard the giggles in the background and sidebar conversations of others - I had just had enough of it all! I waited about 30 minutest (to calm down) then marched over to the Prince, closed his office door behind me, and really let it out! I spewed my frustrations of 'too many cooks in the kitchen' and how many others were taking the lead on the same project and why was I being given orders from Queen B and let's clarify the responsibility here! He was off guard but in the end agreed with me and I apologized for venting but seriously?? I just want him to know and OPEN his EYES to what's going on...

Christine: Thank you ♥ Felt pretty proud of myself on Friday! So grateful the rain didn't come in until later - yes driving home we got hit with wicked rains... didn't see lightening nor hear thunder, but RAIN!! Tracy took 1 pain pill before bed Friday - because they told her to whether she thought she needed it or not! I think that's why she woke up feeling good enough to go shopping! Saturday night she did NOT take one, and woke with it aching. Of course the local was completely worn off by then too... She has been managing the (pain) aches and throbbing with Tylenol.
Glad you could get Linds' hair done... sorry it was so complicated! Yikes sounds stressful - for you!
I swear one day - during my vacation - I too will have a do nothing day! Rest - nap - relax - whatever, but No laundry, dishes, cleaning, bill paying - NOTHING! Just float in the pool and enjoy the day "away"! Not sure where I will send Tracy that day - but gosh I need a day home ALONE! So glad you had a day like that on Saturday... no one home "talking" to you? I can't imagine what that's even like anymore!
Hope your lunch out went well for you, how was DM feeling?? Well enough to go out??
Sue: WOO HOO for a day to sleep in!! Sorry you are still in the waiting game about work.... good for one more week (this week) - hoping they come up with a plan/job for you by then! With things "opening" I'd think Sheridan would be getting busier again... obviously they are - you were in so deep the past 2 weeks - but gosh, I hope they figure this out soon!
WOW Glad the kid at the door could stay calm... surprised the guy didn't use the "health" way out! Our Gov order is STILL wear a mask UNLESS you can't due to physical reason! I know at Ken's store, one guy was trying to FORCE the mask issue, and he was threatened with a law suit - due to the customer's heart/breathing issues. Still not sure where that will land!
HA! The last of the company left at about 8 PM last night!! I Went.To.Bed.! Well I watched the last of a DVD movie I had started Friday - but in bed, just chillin'! I did get the food/kitchen cleaned up throughout the day - so not much to do at the end of the day this time!! I HATE that everyone is getting ready to head out and THEN my sister decides it's time to share leftovers! UGH! Then another 30 minutes before people actually LEAVE!
I'm sorry - I know I sound very selfish and petty - and ungrateful - that my family likes to come here... but I am just so TIRED by the end of the day. Got my 6k steps yesterday, 7 out of 10 dots... it's odd I get more activity on weekends (days off?) then a normal workday! Geesh!!
OMG Yes, definitely ODD family there! They ALL 5 live in a very small house...duplex... so Doug & Bev's house is 3 bedroom, which was fine raising their 3 kids... BUT... now, both Trevor & Lexi need their own rooms, so Justine actually sleeps in the LR all the time! I told her as soon as Doug wound up in the DR, I'd have said Mom sleeps here, and take her room! OH and gotta love this... Bev texted Justine late Saturday night, and said she wanted to sleep in her own bed - so she hoped Daddy would be all right downstairs alone! UGH! I love my DSIL but she has no clue! You think I was stressed out about doing things alone Friday??? Well Bev won't drive herself ANYWHERE... not even the grocery store! She apparently doesn't shop (alone), cook, clean... she blames everything on her "health"... she has had heart trouble, on disability/unable to work... but she is able to wander around Wal-Mart/Target any time she can get a ride!! Sorry, being petty... just know that if this were MY husband, I would be in the LR to care for hi during the night, NOT leave it to Tracy to do! Anyway... all Justine has to do during the night is usually a pain pill (if needed) and empty the urinal... bu tBev can't handle it! ?? !! ?? OY!
LOL Oh yeah... forgot about Amanda!! Good for Josh - holding his own with her!!
I know right?? Ya' think Boston hospital and assume they are all in the city! While being at MA Gen we had more "options" of places to go - NE Baptist was a very pretty place to hang out! Although I do LOVE the city - but UGH The humidity would have been so much worse if I were IN the city!! How nice for Hannah and the boys! To be able to be with Shea in a more private/house setting... not a hotel... how nice that the other guy had to quarantine!
Yeah, Tracy is calling the surgeon's office today... she doesn't remember if they said anything about swimming vs showering... she can shower Tuesday... but thinks they said something about swimming. It is her right arm, so doing ANYTHING is difficult, but she's doing fine!
I would NOT be doing Disney, with all the things cancelled due to restrictions, but no discounts in pricing... I like the parades. the fireworks, the characters all over... but to each his own!
Sue: I got my DR table cleaned off, but unfortunately some of the pile ended up on the pellet stove! My vacation week will include decluttering and filing all of that pile - once and for all!
OH I am so jealous of Jason and his pickled beets!! Store bought ones are just NOT the same!!

I have tracked my day and will plan to get another early morning walk in - yesterday's was late morning, but I did do it!! I also ended up doing a lot of running around, laundry, the grocery store, cleaning the kitchen, cut DH's hair, then up to my mother's then back home to cook dinner, clean up, and finally collapse...glad not to have to rush around this morning... Planning to take bags of donations over to Goodwill or Salvation Army - which ever one is accepting donations at this time - to help clear out Linds' things and the 2 large bags from when DH sorted and cleaned his closet last April! It will be good to get those things out of the house... Hoping everyone has a good day today - keep to our Mindset that sometimes being kind to ourselves is the best mindset

Good morning!
Wow, it hit 103 yesterday and was at 73 degrees when I got up at 4:30 am....I think we are supposed to get a brief break this week though. I have my fan on at night (in addition to A/C--but we don't turn it down too far) and the fan really helps me with white noise and the movement of air. Otherwise (like if they shut off out power to reduce fire danger) I think I would be miserable. Hoping to get a lot done this morning for work...hoping no "last minute" meetings so I'm going to dive in earlier.
Carole: So next weekend is Zoe's and then a break? Whew, thank goodness! I hope that Tracy can at least slosh around in the pool. When I had my thyroid removed they said no hot tubs or pools for two weeks....good job helping her stay on top of the pain meds--I would think that it could get out of hand quickly. I hope that, next week, you have one of those days---a day with nothing at all but relaxing. Make it happen, my friend!
Christine: Wow, so now you are a certified "contact tracer"? Is that one of the things that each school has to have in order to reopen? A contact tracing plan? Here in CA, we are supposed to report it to Public Health and they do the contact tracing...I would think that it would be good information to have! Our neighboring county (Placer) is now on the watch list in CA. We have 58 counties and I think that 29 of them meet the criteria for being on the watch list. Anyway, the interesting thing is that one of their officials said that the contact tracing is showing that bars and restaurants are NOT the cause of their recent surge---it is friend and family gatherings. So, they are shutting down restaurants again and it might not even help! Sheesh...I am officially convinced that we will not see this end until we get herd immunity or a vaccine....people just can't help themselves from being in large groups...they just can't do it. Sigh..... Enjoy your day today! Wouldn't it be great to have 4-day work weeks?

Christine: Forgot to mention it: My DM did the same thing a couple of years ago--she got super dehydrated. She had a cold and, when I asked her if she was drinking lots of fluids, she held up this tiny 4 oz juice glass with water and said, "Oh yes, see? Here is my water." She got angry with me for chiding her about it...then wound up in the hospital where the doctor told her she was severely dehydrated and THEN she believed me. She's much more conscious of it now (I bought here a few colorful water bottles with the oz labeled on the side). Hey, GOOD FOR YOU for letting the Prince know that you have it coming from all directions! Everyone has a breaking point and you handled it well!
Sue: It was so good to see you and Jenny! A nice addition to my Sunday afternoon--and to see Jason too I was still laughing when I signed off about your's and Jenny's "embarrassing moments"---smiling right now too as a matter of a fact! I will think because I know that I have some! Just not of the same caliber as the two of you. Hope that work feels more "normal" in terms of time this week and that, maybe, they will give you another couple of weeks before Friday--that would be nice! Yum, your steaks sound good!
Hello to all who follow....Jenny - thanks for joining us yesterday--loved seeing you and Audrey! Need to pre-track my day (forging my new road, remember) and then get showered and to work. See you all later!

Evening all...was really nice to work 8:00 - 4:00 today like normal!! The three of us started our day laughing and sharing some of the really "ugly" moments!! Expected to get in today and see the last of the HUGE orders in the queue but it still hadn't dropped...we kept expecting it and then noticed that none of the usual jobs from that customer were dropping in throughout the day...sure enough there was a glitch and the download crashed so IT is working on as I type....hopefully it will get resolved and I will have it to do tomorrow but we'll see?? We were busy today and Tonya had a TON of emails to go through but tomorrow should be better and the "catch up" can begin!!
Carole...I saw the fun rainbow pix Tracy posted and the pool day pix...the girls really are becoming "fish"...so fun to see how much they have improved over the years!!
Yes...I am trying hard to "reset" and get more focused...while I'm not gaining, I'm not losing either...still just not into it.....not sure what's the issue. I know when this whole virus thing started I was really focused on not letting the stress and uncertainty lead to mindless eating and was doing well...then I got furloughed and things kind of fell apart!! My fly-by this morning was up a # or so but not too bad....meals this week are pretty OP so as long as I avoid snacking and poor choices that # should be gone by Thursday WI day!!
YAY for the extra water during the party...Zoe's party is the last one, right??? That one will be an easy one too!! Glad you got some good sleep but bummer about waking with a headache...that's never a good way to start the day!!
Christine...glad you can take those extra vacation days so you don't lose them!! I see a couple more long weeks coming soon!! Yes, today and tomorrow are supposed to be cooler, still 80's but lower humidity then the oppressive heat is back....it is getting old and is draining!! Sorry DM was difficult yesterday.....yes, she needs to use the central AC and really needs to drink more in this heat. Glad she was agreeable to the Pedialyte, hopefully she will remember how lousy she is feeling and be more diligent with the fluids!! Well Christine...since today could not be the day to empty Linds's apartment, you are going to HAVE TO take another day or two this month to get it done!!
The Zoom call was so fun...wish more could have joined the fun....next time Jenny will have to share again her strapless bra story....it's hysterical!! I'm still smiling!!
Sounds like the contact tracing class was good information moving forward in the school year when it comes to the "what ifs" when student or staff has to quarantine....Yes, I'm sure the Dept of Health will take the lead on the actual contact tracing! WOW...between Queen B and the Deans that is a circus!! Glad you cooled down and then filled the Prince in on what was going on...hopefully his eyes will STAY OPEN and nip some of this BS in bud!!
Carole....I too am proud or you venturing to the hospital and navigating all the snafus that came your way!! Glad Tracy seems to be managing her pain with Tylenol....did she call the doctor today to get more post-op details!! I LOVE the idea of a "do nothing" day during your vacation....get a raft or floaty chair and just hang out in the pool in the warmth of the sun!! Maybe by the time vacation arrives Tracy will just want to get out of the house so then you can have the house to yourself!! LOL!!

Yes Carole...Sheridan is getting busier again but still many of the journals go to universities and colleges that are still not open so it's a slow process. We got an "update" letter a week or so ago from the owner and it makes things sounds like they do not expect people will be coming back before September is even then since we also heard through the proverbial "grape vine" that he is looking to invest in products and programs to automate many jobs and therefore cutting the needed number of staff....it's kind of disheartening but will see how it plays out....I'm sure by Thursday or Friday I will hear about next week...
Actually Carole in PA the mask rules are the same that for "health" reasons you don't have to wear one BUT a business can still not let you in w/o one....I actually read the article below over lunch today and many of the things that are mentioned, our Walmart has started to implement in the past several days. I think in light of the spikes in cases in many states PA is once again trying to be proactive and keep the cases down so many of the businesses are really cracking down around here anyway!! We were talking today and a few of the other local stores are doing the same thing!!
www.eatthis.com/big-walmart-changes-coronavirus-era/?utm_source=nsltr&utm_medium=email&utm_content=big-walmart-changes-coronavirus-era&utm_campaign=etntNewsletter
Glad you got the kitchen cleaned and organized as the day went on so when everyone finally left you could just crash and call it a day!! What movie did you watch??? I don't blame you...it is exhausting to always have the gatherings at your house...so much extra work before, during and after the event!! WOW, WOW, WOW....the dynamics of your DSIL's family is odd indeed!! I get that because Justine and the kids are there and she needs to sleep in the LR but I'm with you....when Doug was in the accident it was his WIFE's job to help him out, not Justine...I would be in the LR too, not expecting the girls to deal with their dad...I married him for better or worse, sickness or in health so it's my job to care for Jason if the time ever came!!
Colton and his team had an AWESOME weekend and came home the champions!! They were on fire and Colton had a great day at the plate and on the field. Sarah texted last night and asked if we would take the boys next weekend so she could go....according to Josh they were not super forceful in the 2 people rules but there were not siblings or grandparents there so they thought they would both go next weekend and let the boys home...it will be fun so I'm happy!!
After the ZOOM call yesterday we Face-Timed with Hannah....apparently now in light of the surges in cases in OK all the guys have to have single occupancy so Shea will actually be alone in this house until further notice....the other guys are staying on base now. Thankfully it doesn't cost Shea any more because the AF just sends his housing allowance to the landlord of the house. If they stay on base they don't get the housing allowance...if off base, they get $77/day for hotel/house/apartment.....not a bad deal for the owner....$77/day is a good haul!! Yes, having 2 or 3 guys paying that would be better but still, in light of the virus....anything is better!!
Well...maybe Tracy can get in the pool and just keep her arm above the water....if you are getting the heat we are, it would be a bummer if she couldn't at least cool off.....I remember breaking my right wrist....when you are right handed you learn very quickly how dominant that hand is and how helpless you feel!!
LOL...Jenny and Gabrielle got to see my cleared off table yesterday during our Zoom call...I even when through the mail today when I brought it in so it's still clear except for my car keys they are always sitting there during the week so I don't have to dig for them in the morning!!
Christine...if you had the weather we did today...it was a nice day for a walk...it's gorgeous today and supposed to be mid-60's overnight so good sleeping!! Hopefully you were able to get the cloths and other stuff to Goodwill or Salvation Army....not sure around here if they are accepting donations or not....I've been sending my stuff to Sarah's neighbor the Mason's big yard sale!!
Gabrielle...I do like air moving in the BR at night...Jason does NOT!! So my fan blows only on my side of the bed. Unfortunately the breeze usually comes in the window on Jason's side of the bed and he pulls the shade most of the way down and blocks most of it!! Me too...I kept thinking about Jenny's strapless bra story and kept giggling...I can just see "the girls" out for all to see!! Yes, I know we all have those embarrassing moments that we have "filed in the memory banks" but have to admit now....even I think mine is funny!! Back then...NOPE!!! It was horrifying!!
OK...time for some dinner...waves Jenny, Jo, Shelly, Lisa, Nadine and anyone else I missed....sweet dreams!!
