Day 14 – Plan for Tomorrow
This habit always got me going on WW and led to my success. Knowing what I was going to eat the next day kept me from being exposed to the dithering when I am susceptible to overeating and saying, “what the heck.”
Besides just planning what food you will have the next day you also need to plan for the time it will take for you to prepare the food if you are making it so you can be successful. With a plan you can keep yourself from getting too hungry, not spontaneously eat, even if you get hungry or have a craving know when and what you will eat and assist you in avoiding triggers.
Beck suggests that you make up different options for meals and snacks. Doing this allows you to have a variety of food but you aren’t starting from scratch with each meal/snack.
Do you plan your food/eating ahead of time?
Do you have standard meals and snacks and choose from them or do you often do new things?

I've been doing this for years and pretty much eat the same thing most days so the planning takes care of itself. If I make a change I always plan how to include it in my plan. I don't often try new things. I've lost my food imagination.

Do you plan your food/eating ahead of time? Not really. It often depends on what is in the house and what is brought in from the garden. We always have some basic items to cook with and then add from what is harvested or has been purchased and is perishable. That said, I did make additional hot cereal, enough for three more servings, and this morning had it "solid" as if it were toast with peanut butter and jelly and have two more servings for mornings this week. I also have some other leftovers in the fridge to "play with" and eat as they were or change a bit for another meal.
Do you have standard meals and snacks and choose from them or do you often do new things? I tend to do the same thing pretty much. The ingredients may change but the meal is much the same from one day to the next. My sister, on the other hand, is always trying new recipes and her husband likes to cook so reading what SHE is eating often makes me hungry to try what she has had though most times the ingredients are not available here.

Yes and yes. I plan to the extent that I have a calorie number that I aim for for the three meals and snacks each day. There will be some juggling from one category to another as the day goes on.
My breakfast is the same every single day. I have the same lunch 4 days a week, a different lunch on Saturday (leftover pizza), and I cook dinner twice a week with plenty of leftovers that cover every day but Friday which is pizza night. I do many different dinner recipes.
I skip lunch on Friday and dinner on Wednesday.

This is where I hope to become a true believer. I plan for breakfast and have about 4 choices. In the summer, in particular, salad w protein is a go to lunch. My downfall is dinner where I tend to plan just sometimes. I hope to nail this piece down. Also, I don’t plan snacks and think that is my 5 pm pre dinner downfall. Determined to get better at this.

Same here! I have about 3 breakfast options but usually only do two of them. In winter it's oatmeal with fresh fruit in it, in summer Cheerios with fresh fruit, no milk. I have an Eggbeater omelet for lunch, stuffed with fresh spinach and a piece of cheese, with salsa and two soy sausage patties. On weekends I'll have sandwiches for lunch with Dave's Killer bread and cheese and soy lunch meats. Dinner is where I experiment since I love to cook. During quarantine though, I've been making things that tend to last two nights so I don't have to cook as often, especially as it's getting hotter. I'll make spinach and cheese enchiladas, or veggie lasagna, or onion pie, all three last two nights. We like to have the same take out every Friday and I know the PP on that. And if I go off script I now track everything. I'm trying to limit dessert to only fresh fruit OR a Lindy's Italian Ice when it's hot out.
