Whether you are regular poster or a lurker, we encourage you to talk with us. We do talk about books, but also about our lives, and Weight Watchers. We are women who are spread around the country, and eventually you will learn you we are, and what books we like to read. Don't be intimidated, just pop in and tell us who you are, and what you are reading now.
This is a thread we had on the WW 50 Year old board, so even though most of us have moved beyond our 50's, I am keeping it here. Some prefer to post on Facebook, but for those who may also like to post on something that resembles our old format, I decided to start this. Although we were brought together by our love of books, and we love to share our ideas about books and authors, our friendship has grown, and we know a lot about each others lives. We are spread across the country, and that adds a bit of interest as well, learning about other people's way of life through the "book" they write on the thread.

Good morning. Cloudy, as there are storms moving through, about 50 miles away. Rain for sure later this evening.
Robin, Maddie is a very cute baby! I can see you, around her eyes. Since we have not seen any pictures these past 3 months, it is almost a shock to see her so big, altho she is probably just the right size for her age, right? I really thought that Imperfect Foods was just produce! That is nice that you can get a variety of other products. I too get tired of tracking, so I take a week off, but with my weight, I know it is something I will have to keep doing. I am going to take a break from WW, and just use Itrackbites. I am sure eventually I will probably go back to WW, as that is my history. Did you have to clean out your kitchen, in order to eat like that?
Marsha, pretty sad when the boss drops the ball on the virus. He knew what he was doing, and risking. Did you ever get to strawberry pick?
Hello to Carol, Anngie, Gareth, and Pinky.
Cleaned both bathrooms, and kitchen yesterday, so I am hoping to get all the dusting (my hated job!) and vacuuming done today.
The rest of the story, concerning DH and him going to his DF house yesterday: when he got there, he told DF about getting tested and does DF want him to wear a mask. DF said no, he has no problem with it. I have to disagree with my DH. I would have just put my mask on, before I got out of my vehicle. All the cities around the area are making wearing a mask in public a rule, and last night GB city council met, and dropped the ball on that rule. Chickens! I see California has gone back to lockdown.
Have a nice day everyone.

Karen - so happy for the negative results. These days it is tempting to blame every symptom on the virus. Boss ended up leaving at lunch yesterday so it was only about an hour after he heard and I'm sure he was just cleaning up loose ends. He cleaned his office with isopropyl before leaving.
DH and I watched the 2nd half of Hamilton last night. Loved it. I would love to see it live some day. We will watch it again with the subtitles so we can get more of the words.
Dog walked this morning but I ate cookies last night. I need to break myself of that again. It sure doesn't take much to get back in that habit. I stopped at Quick Trip for bananas this morning on the way to work. None of the customers in the store at the time wore masks. 2 of the employees wore those face shields instead of masks. (I don't see how that helps). One employee wore a mask. The first time I went in there after the pandemic started everyone wore a mask. They need to pass more laws about this. Cases are spreading here in this area and people are idiots.

Good Morning Friends!
Karen-So good that you tested negative.
Marsha--Sounds like your boss is at risk being around DS friend. He is doing the right thing though and quarantining himself. I am glad you were negative
Gareth---That was some storm you had. Good luck to your DH with his surgery. My DH had an umbilicial hernia surgery about 8 years ago.
Carol--Stay cool! I don't envy your weather in the summer but I would sure like it in the winter.
Anngie--- when will you be talking to the surgeon about getting the cyst removed? Dang on the shot not lasting longer,
Robin---That little Maddie is a cutie. I am thinking she lools more like her daddy although I have only seen a few picture of him and DDIL.
A little rain in the night and about 11;00 this morning it should start again. Doesn't amount to much, we would really like to see more rain. I know it was so wet last year but all of those wet spots have dried up. For now the crops are beautiful and would be nice to see it contine that way.
I have been MIA alot. Last Thursday I had regular Drs. Appt and things are looking good as far as my lab work goes. My blood pressure has evened out and my cholesterol is more in balance. So I am doing all the right things. I have lost 10 lbs. in the last month. I hope to loose 20 more. I told him my knee and back hurts and I dom't know if one is causing the other to hurt. So he sent me down to x-ray. I start physical therapy for my back as I have degenerative joint disease of the lower back and I see the orthopedic Dr for my knee on the 22nd. My body is starting to wear down it seems. So that took up the whole morning.
Then on Friday I had an appointment in Sioux Falls with the neurologist. I am doing good and have been released from his care. We stopped in Brookings at Lowes and talked to someone about blinds. They are coming out to measure today. Then on to the furniture store where we are looking for a new mattress. Do you all have on that you can't live without? Input would be helpful. We are thinking about one that come with a frame instead of a boxspring and with a remote you can raise the head and/or the feet. I was shot after that long days of adventure and it took Saturday to rest up.
Then yesterday is was therapy again. I have graduated from occupational therapy to once a week and speech therapy remains at twice a week. My speech is fine-but cognitive thinking she is pushing me hard. Especially in remembering and problem solving. Now add PT and I am a regular around there.
I wonder how many people have popped on since I started. It had taken a long time to write this so Im sure someone has.

Marsha, loved your last phrase "...and people are idiots." The daughter of a couple we know had their wedding this past weekend. It didn't look like there was any social distancing or anything that showed they knew there was a pandemic going on. Of course, I blame our governor for thinking Texas was ready for phase 2 or whatever is was. It was like people thought we could go straight from social distancing and staying in to going to bars and having parties. And kids think they are bullet proof.
I haven't tried Walmart pickup yet. I thought I would, but there was a long wait time for times for pickup, like a week or more.
We had sub-titles on when we watched Hamilton. I may go back and watch it again. I know there were things I missed.
Karen, good news on your test results.

Waiting for DH to get home to walk. Yesterday I did end up walking before he came home and then again with him. Not today though since it was laundry day. He just got home so I'll pop back later....

Back from our walk. 81Âş but it 's humid. Thankfully there was a good breeze. Even so we were both sweating by time we got back home. Started The Wives while doing laundry and working around here this morning. So far so good.
Karen, so glad to hear your test and DH's were negative! We've got storms moving in later into tomorrow. What's with all the storms lately?!
Pinky so good to hear from you! Glad to hear you're coming along so well!
Robin, loved seeing the picture of Maddie! She's grown so much but then babies do at that age.
Marsha, so glad to hear your test was negative too!
Carol, it irritates me to no end that there's so many that are not taking this pandemic seriously.
Anngie, sounds like a good idea to just have surgery and have it done and over with.

Karen/Marsha, so glad to see you are both negative! That’s a relief isn’t it! FYI - Wisconsinites cannot travel to NYS - or - self quarantine 14 days if you do! You have been put on “the list” of states making it 22. Only Delaware has been removed.
Pinky, it’s good to hear from you! You’re coming along great - keep up the good work! Shopping for mattresses (or any furniture) is exhausting if you ask me.
Karen, it’s almost too bad DH asked DF about the mask, and instead, just wear it when he visited. Of course, she probably would have told him to take it off!
Marsha, is DM’s jewelry heist now over and behind her now? What a situation there at work. I’ll bet you and other employees would like to strangle the Boss!
Hi Gareth & Carol!
Now get this - I mentioned to you that I decided to go to plan B and have the cyst removed. If you remember, I wasn’t happy with the procedure used by the surgeon I met with. Then come to find out, an orthopedic surgeon nearby is well know for his procedure doing it arthroscopically - I was thrilled! So yesterday I called his office to make an appointment - and guess what! He doesn’t accept my insurance nor does he accept Medicare! I was speechless and disappointed. However, the other surgeon in his office does accept both and I made an appointment anyway. I will find out then (July 28) if he will do it arthroscopically or not. I’m sorry this is long, but I’m really disappointed.

Anngie - my mother's jewelry heist is in the rear view mirror. Now she's trying to find a new helper. The agency sent someone she didn't like and she has been having trouble getting them to return her calls, which surprises me since they seemed so professional when I spoke with them. If she continues to have trouble with them she will go to another agency. I actually wasn't upset with Boss. He only stayed about an hour after he found out about his son's test results, he had tested negative when we all went last Thursday, and he was in his own office with his door closed. I'm sure he was cleaning up loose ends before leaving knowing he'd be gone at least 10 days. And he did sanitize everything before he left. I'm going to go back in there and clean everything again this afternoon. So now I'm alone upstairs and it is painfully quiet, and since the pandemic even the phones aren't ringing so much.

Karen and Marsha, Wisconsin has been put on the list of states that NY will quarantine visitors from. Our governor is being very strict and trying to be very vigilant also. Apparently there was a July 4th party in the county next to ours where no one was socially distancing or wearing masks, and 1/3rd of the people have come down with it so far.
Carol, as far as that wedding goes, that would not have been allowed in Phase 2 here, unless it was outdoors and everyone was wearing masks. Here people are rescheduling their wedding for next year. Both DS's are friends with someone from sleep away camp who is from Austin. His wedding was postponed from Memorial Day weekend to next year. The girls are happy because, assuming everything is back to normal, they will both be able to go. This was someone who not only came to both of DS's weddings, but also both bachelor parties.
Pinky, glad to hear from you about you doing so well. Good job on the 10 lb loss, it is so hard!
Karen, my DS does not like me to post much on Facebook, but seeing as the other grandmother posted that, I did. She is at most at the 50th percentile in weight and height. The other family thinks that she looks just like them. I had a baby picture of my son, and she has features of him. We will have to see what happens when she gets older. I think she may have a rounder face like her side, both parents have that.
So Marsha, how many people say to you, "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha". The old line from The Brady Bunch. I just don't know what to say about your boss, but you should be careful. Let it go and wipe it down before he gets back. That way anything he might have left there will be gone.
Gareth, so good that you could get out for a walk, a breeze makes all the difference. I hate humidity, that makes a big difference too.
Last night I played mah jongg with my friends, read a little bit of Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate, up in the air about what I think, and also Lost and Found Bookship, which is a Susan Wiggs book, and good so far.
