Karen, nice haul in the homegrown veggies. Chippie keels eating our cherry tomatoes in the pot before they ripen. He sucks out the insides and leaves the skin. I hoped you slept better last night. It was my turn to be congested and lose sleep. I went out and weeded while the temps were still decent and I paid the price. I havenāt been using any allergy meds or decongestants because of the eye medications and have just been using saline spray. It works pretty well if I remember to change clothes and shower after working in the garden. I saw the clip on the DeSantis heckler and he was spot on. Have you seen the ad with Ivanka Trump hiding a can of Goya beans? Pretty sure WH staff are not supposed to endorse any companies.
Liz, I am so sorry to hear about your BIL. I know pancreatic cancer is a tough one. My prayers go out to him and all your family. Nice new pic of the pups. I am sure there is a certain amount of āsiblingā rivalry between them. I sure hope you get to make the trip to Vermont. I know you need a change of scenery. I miss you hanging around with us but understand you are under a ton of work pressure and you have to take care of your mental and physical health when not at work. Know that we are always thinking of you.š
Kathy, a hike sounds nice but so many people are on our trails we havenāt gone. The county has become a destination for outdoor activities and craft beer breweries and the virus hasnāt slowed the tourism down any. The guv has a press conference schedule for 5:30 pm. His usual daily update is at 2 pm. What now?
Linda, wish Micki a happy belated birthday. 9 is still his prime! Congrats on the good report on the thyroid. Did you all enjoy the pizza birthday party? How were the cupcakes?
Becky, your foot injury is quite the mystery. I hope it is not too painful? Did the ice work? In Scooterās mind āScooter rules! Cats drool!ā
Denise, how was work? It is warming up here again. We are expecting a few days in the 90s again. I hooe you stay cooler.

Karen, we've been getting rain almost every day, so not a surprise that the trails are flooded. When we had the stay at home orders, the trails were packed. Now that a lot of people are back to work, DS said it wasn't crowded at all. I think they went fairly early, but still said it was really hot. Chele, that does make you wonder why the guv's update is so late today. Now you have me curious! Thankfully, our tourism area isn't nearby, but we have the university, so tens of thousands of young people that think they're invincible. I'm sure lots of parties and gatherings are going on with the bars being closed. Sounds like Chippie is well fed! Hope the allergies are better today.
Becky, hope the foot is doing better.
We had a heavy thunderstorm yesterday with some hail. We had another shower today and are expecting more tomorrow and this weekend. At least, it's keeping the temps down to the lower 90s. The feels like still gets over 100 before it rains, but nothing like Linda's and Becky's temps.

wear the mask and avoid anyone without one. You do not know for a while that you are infected but contagious.
case in point...My nephew who has been careful at work just found out he had it...had aches and sudden loss of smell. Unfortunately the family with him, wife, and two kids had dinner Friday before my niece and three kids flew home Saturday. Since it was family and everyone had been ok, no masks. Now everyone must be tested and stay out of work ten days , more if tests are positive. He has no idea where he got it.
our new mayor had to be sworn in virtually because he has it and has been very careful.
problem is, you are never quite sure who in your small social bubble might have been exposed .
Really hope all are ok.
DH went to Safeway for the stuff we cannot get at Sprouts and mailed bills, while I did Laundry and dusting. Hate dusting. Time flies between times for that. Also while it was not too hot and still in shade, did a bit of much needed pruning. Still need to clean the laminate flooring.
Brother got stuff on his way home and said shelves in some stuff starting to empty at Kroger (Fryes here).

Linda, I'm not surprised the gym owners lost. I wish they would close gyms here, but I think our biggest problem is all the tourists. Yes, probably a lot of bar owners were doing right what they could, but you're right about the unpredictability of drunks. 2200+ new cases here, so not as bad as you, Kathy, and Becky, but still not good. I saw something in the NY Times today about the Trump administration weakening another environmental law. It's going to take a long time to get things back on track and I'm afraid there will still be irreparable damage based on what has already been allowed to happen. Congrats on your good thyroid test and no need for a biopsy. How was last night's pizza? Enjoy wearing your shirt. Someone made a comment on a new show this afternoon that we probably won't have a winner declared on election night because of all the mail-in votes. So we'll have to be on pins and needles a bit longer and that won't be easy. Very true on wearing masks and avoiding people without them. Fortunately, there is a mask order in Knoxville that people seem to be obeying. Not quite sure about the one closer to home though. I have to go to the PO tomorrow so I guess I'll see. Sorry about your nephew and the associated inconveniences. I hope they all stay symptom-free. Contact tracing is a great idea, but a lot of people have no clue where they contracted it. I didn't realize you had a new mayor. Did the previous one quit? This is an odd time to be taking over due to an election. I'm not a big fan of dusting either. For some reason, it just seems to accumulate here. What kinds of items did your brother note as missing at Fryes?
Did you find out something on your foot at PT, Becky? Wasn't Scooter there before the cats? If I have that right, that could explain why she thinks she's the boss. But Chele also may be right on "Dogs Rule!" Were you 100+ again today?
Chele, shame on Chippie for eating your tomatoes! BAD Chipmunk!! Yes, I saw something about Ivanka and Goya beans and how it's an ethics violation. But then when did she ever care about a little thing like ethics? I've actually missed the ad. Well, I can't really say that I've missed it. What is Iggy up to this week?
I didn't realize you've been having so much rain, Kathy. I can't remember the last time it rained here. We sure could use some. It's great that the trails weren't crowded because that would have eliminated a lot of the opportunity for social distancing. I spent most of the morning outside in the heat and humidity with my allergies going nuts and it felt like I was back in band camp. You remember those days, I'm sure. I used to come home and drop on the couch. Couldn't do it today because a couple of hours after I got home, I had to go pick up the CSA order. At least I had the AC on both ways. We were at 96 coming back from the pick up, so I think we were warmer than you today. Ozone is high as well, so that's not helping matters.
Denise, have you had people on your floor with covid? I hope not. Are the number of births pretty constant?
Sorry about the family woes, Liz. I hope BIL will get the same treatment as Alex Trebek and have a similar result. I hope the equipment install is going well.
The filming went well today. It was hot but at least we were doing it in the morning. We were able to feature several of our MGs and even got to show off a newly hatched swallowtail butterfly fledging. We have some folks who are butterfly experts and they collect caterpillars and put them in the butterfly house until they are ready to fly. That is something unique to our group. Lots of groups have pollinator gardens but few (if any) take it to the next step and actually help the pollinators survive. I'm anxious to see the draft video. The final will be broadcast next month. Osteo tomorrow and then I am thinking about stopping at Duluth Trading and Joann on the way home. I also have a few things to pick up at Publix. We are continuing to stock up.

Frozen veggies and soup and most snack food.
freak accident...put my big recipe binder in counter on a pile of printed recipes and mail. As I turned over a section of it to a page, it slid on the pile, hit the Italian rooster pitcher with the pens, which went off the counter into the big dog dish and split the dish. Lot of water. Pitcher was one big piece and two little. Krazy glued it.,you see cracks but we still have our souvenir . Glue stuck together two fingers of my dr glove and pulled piece of glove off and hit on my thumb and index finger. I will be using a lot of nail polish remover for a couple days.
hope rest of evening is ok and you all have a good on

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele The ice did not work.I called PT this morning and changed my Friday appointment to 3:00 today.I didn't think she could do anything but I needed some scar tissue worked out on my knee and she thinks I may have plantar fasciitis but I'm not so sure about that since it also hurts on top.It hurts to even walk in the house.I have to laugh at Scooter when she gets after Kit Kat because she will slap at Scooter. She walks away then and just whines at her.
Kathy I would be happy if we got any rain at all.I would also be happy with the 90's.We only got up to 103 today and it was hot.
Linda I'm sorry about your nephew.I hope he gets over it quickly. We don't have a Kroger's but HEB and WM both seem to be fully stocked.
Karen The Dems tried to get mail in votes passed here for people under 65 and scared of the virus but that wouldn't fly in Texas.I'm glad because too much can happen when there is a big mail in vote. There is enough fraud at the polls let alone mail in votes in TX.PT thought it might be PF but that wouldn't explain the pain on the top of the foot. When I put pressure on it the bottom does hurt but whatever it is it hurts to even walk in the house.Yep 103 today. They are predicting 100 for the next week.We got Scooter 3 weeks before we adopted KK so yes she was barely here first. She is staying in more because of the heat so when she gets bored the cats have to scatter.I had changed my Friday appointment to this afternoon and she was willing to go outside but she whined when we left.It was only 100 then but it was so hot.It was the first afternoon I had been outside since the heat wave started.I don't blame her for not wanting to be outside.
