Good morning friends. I have another great sleeping night under my belt and once again woke up refreshed. Today I may just bite the bullet and get what we need at both Walmart and Hannaford's . I'll see how Carl feels about that.
Pam so happy that you got to walk with Debbie. Sorry she will not be going for a bit but I know you will KOKO with your audio book. Great news that the monster will NOT get bail! With all that is going on I can see where you have a VERY tired brain. (((hugs))) Also praying that you get some rain to cool things off a tad.
Waving and will CBL

Took a short hood walk with Carl and LuLa. The air feels better out there today...but I'm still sneezing. Allergies/pollen get me all the time. Carl has decided to take a trip to Salvation Army to drop off some stuff that we have to donate. All the BAGS ARE TIED so that he can't rummage through them LOL.....also have some larger items that we no longer use. I am not in the mood to travel to Leomister, so will sit this one out. I have laundry 'doing' and I shall spend some quality time with miss LuLa When he returns, if he is up to it, we will go to Hannaford's and Walmart or put it off till tomorrow. His decision. I'm good either way. My day is planned and tracked. Now I'm going to sit and play a few games on my phone. Will pop in later.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day !! I just realized what day of the week it is. I should have known because the mowers came by this morning, but it didn't register with me. I must have been thinking of other things.
DSIL called this morning. She had called DH but he didn't answer, so she called my phone. We chatted for a bit and then I gave the phone to her brother. Seems their older brother is having some health issues. He was last week and DH advised him to see his doctor but of course he didn't. Then someone came to his house for something else, who is also a part-time nurse, and she commented on how bad he looked. Long story short, she got him to go to the hospital by calling and pre-admitting him (or something thereabout). Also seems his bathroom flooded and the house now is musty and all in all things are a mess!! We can only love him and try to help him, but he's stubborn. Last week my DH was trying both his home and cellphone and not reaching him.... then he called his daughter who couldn't reach him .... then his son started to drive over to check on him. Eventually he called my DH back and said he was in Kroger and left his phone in the car. Last year when he was recovering from heart surgery I would call him only to find out later that he left his phone upstairs when he was downstairs, or forgot to charge it, or went outside without it. I don't see any of that changing any time soon. He really needs to sell the big house and move. He lives out in the middle of nowhere with only one neighbor (who is new). Oh well, like I said, he is stubborn and I fear that is going to be a disastrous outcome but I can't fix him. Thanks for letting me vent!!
After all that morning excitement, I got DH off to work and then went to Meijer grocery shopping. I was able to get everything on my list which is a small miracle!! I have been out of cottage cheese because the last couple of times they didn't have any low-fat, but today they did so I am having that for lunch with some NSA peaches. I changed tonight's menu also as DH had sliced up and sweetened some strawberries for waffles and they need to be used, so we'll have those tonight with turkey sausage patties. Then I can make the Chicken Fried Rice on Friday night. It will all work out fine.
Ann ~ Yay! for another great sleeping night. It got quite warm and muggy here later in the day so I turned on the A/C for the evening and slept with it on. The house was nice and cool and the ceiling fan is perfect!! I also appreciate the way you track and share with all of us.
I better go fix my lunch as I want to sit down and watch the noon news and see if anything is new??
BBL. Make a great day!!

Just heard from Carl and he is on his way home. While he was gone, I took advantage and washed the 3 floors ran the vac and dusted. I changed out the scentsy burners and put in lemon sugar cookie. Love that smell...so fresh and clean So happy that you scored all you need grocery shopping. Depending on how Carl feels...we may shop today or tomorrow. I'm good either way. Needed a shower after my 'cleaning spree' LOL...I worked up a sweat. Your meals sound great. Sue it's always good to vent. I feel that way with Donna....I also can't 'fix her' and I don't try to. (((hugs))) Praying for a good outcome. Going to rinse my soup bowl. I just finished lunch. Later

Ann ~ Thanks! As always you are such an encouragement to me. I appreciate the reinforcement that we cannot change other people. No matter how much we 'know' it and even say it - it is difficult to sit back and watch someone self-destruct. My DH is also a great help as I used to be a "fixer" and over the years he has rubbed off on me some and hopefully we're meeting in the middle nowadays.
Yesterday DH said when he stopped at Speedway to get his scratch-off tickets there were two guys together (he could tell because they had their arms around each other) and neither one was wearing a mask. It perturbed him - but not his fight. Today after he stopped at Speedway, he called me to tell me there were probably 12 other people in the store and every single one was wearing a mask! I guess the word finally got out?? He had the same great feeling that I experienced when we arrived at the restaurant last Sunday to find everyone on the same page.
I also had a good experience while shopping. I was looking for the precooked turkey sausage patties I usually buy and there weren't any. So I was perusing what WAS there looking for a substitute. I was aware of someone coming up behind me so I looked and an A-A gentleman was waiting a few feet away. I apologized for holding him up to which he said "no worries, we all have to pack our patience these days". I did explain that they didn't have what I came for so I was hoping to find a substitute - to which he replied that he feared they weren't going to have what he came for either, and we shared a laugh. What a great feeling!! Now - that's the world I want to live in - even if we do have to wear masks!
That makes DH and me 'two for two' in positive experiences, so I just wanted to share that. I much prefer to look for the good and the exchanges that make me smile or just plain ol' grateful. That is what will get me through this. Life is too short to be negative or live in the ditch.
I am really enjoying my Kathryn Leveque "Brides of Legend" book. It encompasses five medieval romance stories. I had read two of them before then took a break and read something else and now I'm back to book three and enjoying it very much!! In fact, I'm going to read now.
Later .....

Sue thank you for sharing that heart warming story. I agree.... that is TOTALLY the world that I want to live in as well...mask sanitizing and all Happy you found a good book to read. I'm still enjoying The Chef by Patterson. I just wish I had more time to devote to it. I just can't seem to wrap my head around people that get 'bored'!!!! Wish me it's like...where the the day go? I can honestly say that I don't have TIME to get bored..... Carl is resting up and when he is up and at 'em we will hit Hannaford's and save Walmart for tomorrow. I am not up to going both places today. We took a walk with LuLa while it was nice and cloudy and we had a nice breeze. NOw it's back to full sunshine so I'm sure it's hotter out there. Oh well...I'm grateful for the walk that we were able to take all together. Also have a cute story. When Carl was finished donating our good to the Salvation Army, a little boy was standing with him mom holding her hand. As Carl walked by he said in a very LOUD voice...SIR I thank you for your service!!!! Carl never goes out without wearing his Marine cap. I asked Carl how old the boy was and he said about 9 or 10 at the most. That truly made his day. Maybe I'll try to read now.....who knows, I may get lucky

Just got back from Hannaford's and it wasn't crowded. Got our produce so we are not all set. Also picked up some Rainer cherries. Those are the best in my opinion. They don't always have them but when they do I pick some up.
I did get some reading in. Now going to relax a bit.

Well, I just hit a wrong key and wiped out my entire post. Sigh. Here's the shorter version: I slept in today and enjoyed a restful night for a change. That made it later and hotter when I walked, but it was overcast, so not too bad. I made it 2.41 miles at a 16:43 pace, so not too bad. I finished Defending Jacob and have downloaded another murder mystery, The Silent Patient, for my solitary walks this week. I tried to call my cousin's younger daughter (the mother of the kids who witnessed the murder) but she is not answering her phone, which is entirely understandable. I left a message of love. Decided to wash a load of towels, since we are going through so many in this heat. I also stashed away all the plastic containers I washed after cleaning out the fridge last night. I don't feel motivated to do much else, so I started a new book, Love and Murder in Savannah, set in the 1920's. Madison facetimed to report their very first harvest from the seeds DH sent her. They thinned the carrots and had baby carrots, zucchini and squash, with tomatoes coming soon. She has been so excited to learn about seeds, planting, watering, etc. She has even monitored weather maps to know when they needed to water. It's been a pretty good science class for her. DH made a run to Tractor Supply for a curbside pickup. They didn't have the sunflower bird seed or the shepherds hook I wanted. I will have to go in search of deodorant which they couldn't fill in our Walmart order yesterday. I have to use the sensitive skin version or I break out in a nasty, itchy rash. I also need to figure out a day to go to BTR to the optical supply and get my glasses ordered. I am thinking of dropping WW. I have not been tracking much and it is silly to keep paying. MFP and iTrackBites are cheaper and I have quite a few of my recipes on those sites. I know I can't avoid tracking for long without disastrous results. Breakfast was yogurt, pineapple and seeds and a piece of toast. Lunch was corn & shrimp soup with cheese and crackers and cherries. DH is making stir fry with leftover steak and lots of veggies for our dinner, which we will have with brown rice. LA added another 2000+ CV cases, with 17 in our parish. And people are still grousing about having to wear masks... Sue - It is frustrating to see those we love doing things detrimental to their health and safety, knowing that it won't end well, but there's nothing we can do other than encourage good behaviors and pray for the best. DBIL has been on my prayer list since his last problems and will stay there. Ann - How nice for Carl to be recognized for his service by a younger generation. I'm sure that made his day! You can tell him thanks for me, too. Judy - Waving!

There must be something 'in the air' as I also lost an entire post!!!!! Here is my short choppy version! Nice that you got to sleep in. I'm sure your body mind and spirit are all thanking you Yeah to getting your walk in. Also happy that you are giving yourself time to heal by reading and doing what you want to do. Funny when Carl went to BJ's he noticed that the optical department is now open. I need to go there one of these days to have both pair of glasses adjusted. I hear you on dropping WW'ers. Before you do, call them as I know of a lot of people that have called and gotten free months added due to COVID 19. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Your meals sound good. I'm getting rather sleepy. Going to get jammified and read a bit. Waving to Judy. Sweet dreams.

Hi all,
I’m finally getting around to posting and I really did enjoy reading all of your notes today.
Pam, thank you for the suggestion on the VIP teaching site. I will pass it along to my DD and it might fit right into her skill set because she taught abroad for five years in Italy, the Czech Republic and Turkey. Also, the books you are reading sound great. I have heard about the Silent Patient and I believe I have it on my Kindle list from the library. What is the name of the other mystery taking place in the 20s in the south? I’m going to check that one out too. And most importantly, I am so glad that your cousin stepson was denied bail. I truly hope he never sees the light of day again. Interesting how most of your family was from Nebraska and I’m sure you have great memories of time spent on that farm with all your cousins. As time goes on those warm memories will help replace this tragedy. I think you’re very generous to spend time on forgiveness. I know it will help you to because when we walk around full of resentment and hate for someone for such an evil heart, it becomes a noose that strangles us. I’m so glad we’re here virtually to send a hug. We all go through our trials that’s for sure. My DH has a saying if I ever grouse about how easy someone else’s life looks. He says to me that no one comes through this life unscathed. So true.
Ann that lemon cookie air freshener sounds like something I would love. What kind is it? I love the story of the little boy expressing his appreciation to Carl! That is so sweet. And the loud voice cracks me up.
Sue, I’m sorry about your brother-in-law being back in the hospital but it sounds like that’s where he needs to be. I hope that he will come to a decision about selling his big house, but like you said, It’s really out of your control so all you can do is offer support and I know you do that very well. I like your cheery stories about the masks and the kind people in the grocery store. Covid has brought out some good things and people.
I had a super busy day today both doing work projects and getting signed on and I’ll set the new real estate brokerage house. I think I’m really going to like this group and I may even find that I dabble in real estate when I retire. They were super helpful and so kind. I electronically signed which seem like 1 million documents and I’m all set now. It will be much cheaper to be part of this group then it was with Keller Williams. And, although I need to be part of a brokerage firm to keep my license current, I did not need to be paying monthly fees for things I don’t even use. So this firm has no fees other than the usual ones that all real estate agents pay. I also realize that my license expires in two months so I have to take 12 hours of online courses to keep it current and I’m glad I checked into that today. The courses are free and they’re offered by the state of Massachusetts online. I’m going to try to do one or two a day to get them over with.
Surprisingly I am really enjoying this Lisa Jackson book. It’s sort of juvenile in a way dealing with recent high school and college graduates and all the drama around their lives but it’s fun and keeping me reading. I’m 3/4 of the way through it already.
I was also busy today with ukulele lessons and singalongs. I am going to be helping our instructor work out a marketing program so she can continue giving lessons for a small fee. She had wasn’t sure how to go about it and she asked me to help her. Another woman is also going to help and we’re going to have a zoom meeting with her tomorrow to brainstorm some ideas. I’m happy to help out because I really want the lessons to continue and I love the group.
tomorrow I will find out more about when we may have to go back to the college to work. Our new president is having a zoom Town hall to give us all updates in the afternoon. I’m really not looking forward to working in the office again with all the students around even if they are required to wear masks. It is going to be very very strict and everyone will be Covid tested two times a week. But all it will take is a few cases to shut the University down again.
well I have babbled on long enough and I want you all to know I’m thinking of you. I appreciate all your friendship so much too.

Ann, I’m with you. Where do the days go? I am never ever bored! Not enough time to do all we want.
Pam I love your idea of sending seeds to Madison. Sophie would love that in Ca. I’m doing it! They had caterpillars and watched them turn into butterflies which she really enjoyed.
