Happy FriYAY! 👏
Liz, I hope the day goes fast so you can start your weekend of recuperation.
Denise, are you working this weekend?I am glad the maternity ward is Covid free. We saw babies on FaceTime yesterday. Our local niece has an 11 month old girl, Emma, and our niece in Lebanon has a 7 month old little boy, James. We have two other grandnephews, Ethan and Andrew and one other grandniece, Gabriela. All are on Iggy’s side of the family. I don’t think my DB’s sons will have babies any time soon.
Karen, I don’t know how people with two homes do it either. Fingers crossed on your NC house. No more hiccups! That is a weird message on your bank’s door. Does staffing issue mean someone has the virus? I am happy Dale likes his work better this time around. At least he knows how much they appreciate his efforts. Are the sinuses any better?
Linda, oh, no on the accident. Glad you could repair the pitcher. Good call on the adjustable bands. I got Iggy some masks that tie on to avoid that problem. I guess we all have to get used to a 2020 normal, because I don’t think we are getting back to 2019 normal any time soon.
Becky, ow, on the foot. I have done the frozen water bottle for my PF. It does help, but the top of your foot swelling does not sound good. With my PF I did foot stretches and rolled a golf ball under my foot. I never went barefoot and always wore shoes with good arch support and heel cushioning, so no cute flats or sandals and definitely no heels.
Kathy, any plans with the family for this weekend? We are still isolating from family and friends and only go to grocery and farmer’s market. Like you, we also go for drives just to get out of the house.
I have done my workout already, so we are waiting for the garage door tech and I am making pizza today with sautéed mushrooms and onions and anchovies with a nice salad on the side. I was able to pick a few of our cherry tomatoes before Chippie got to them.
Have a good Friday.

Thanks for the start, Chele. I'm on Windows so I don't have the emoji options you do on Apple , at least on the boards. YUM on homemade pizza. Did you do your own dough? Yay on getting a harvest before Chippie did. Good luck with the garage door tech. I hope it's nothing major. I had the same question on the sign at the bank. Maybe the entire a.m. shift came down with it or someone else did and they had to close yesterday morning for deep cleaning. Sinuses seem to do a little better earlier in the day and then I start getting really congested again in the evening. I'm doing the neti pot at least twice a day and doubling up on the allergy herbs. I know what you mean about staying isolated. We had the film shoot this week and that was a big deal being around people I knew for a couple of hours. Next week I have a car apointment in AVL on Tuesday, hair cut on Wednesday and then Osteo on Thursday. While I'm in AVL, I need to stop at WF, Ingles, and probably Earth Fare (they reopened a few of their stores in NC, SC, and GA). Yes, fingers crossed on the NC house for sure. They took possession at 8 a.m. Haven't heard from our realtor when they plan to assume responsibility for the utilities. Have you heard anything from DB about the covert forces yanking protesters off the streets of Portland? I'm surprised Gov. Brown hasn't stepped in and evicted who ever the federal officers are because they have no right to be in her state without her permission. Becky, Honorary PT, tendonitis on top of the foot sounds like a definite possibility. It's an overuse injury so perhaps you were trying to get back to normal too quickly. Have you tried Penetrex or Biofreeze? On the PF, the thing that helped me the most is the Count R Force brace . It looks really simple but it actually works! I had it in both feet and slept in them for about 4 months and it resolved the issue. I also took an empty juice can, filled it with water (almost full), glued the lid back on, froze it, and got it out of the freezer a few times a day and rolled it under my foot. Do you think, since mail-in voting seems to work well in other states, that TX might be able to learn a few things from those states that could make it work there? Congrats on at least one day of feeling normal, Linda. I hope it will turn into more than one day. I've seen those mask hooks. Let me know how it works for you. I don't have hearing aids but I have had to resort to wearing post-style earrings instead of the French hooks I prefer to wear due to fear of getting an earring hooked on the ear loops putting on or taking off my mask. Did you see Trump's pick up truck stunt on the WH lawn yesterday? My Dale is the one with the new job, not Iggy. It's actually the same job he retired from a year ago and they coaxed him back. Kathy, I hear FL is setting more covid records and there are rumblings that the RNC isn't going to be the huge event Trump wanted and may not be any different that it would have been had it stayed in Charlotte. Are you continuing to have rain? There's not a drop in sight here and we got close last night but not close enough. How are things going at the pond with the extra water? Are you having lots of water fowl visit? Any hawk sightings recently? We have 4 nephews and 3 nieces, Denise. Two of the nephews are on Dale's side and we don't have any contact with them because we are estranged from Dale's sister (very long story that most of the gals here lived through with me). The other 5 are my DB's kids and step kids and 4 of those kids have 7 kids among them (youngest niece has no kids). As you can imagine, family gatherings can get quite loud. Liz, happy weekend! Have you heard anything about BIL's status? I have a friend in NC in her 30s (I literally watched her grow up) who has a tumor on her pancreas and will have it surgically removed next week. If it hasn't spread, she should be able to fully recover. She's an ER nurse, so sometimes a little medical knowledge isn't a good thing. Dale took a little time this morning to go to a "downsizing" sale not far from us. We use the road quite frequently but were trying to figure out where the house was that would hold all the stuff in the ad. Turns out it was a modular and they must have had it packed in pretty tight. He got a few things, including a large tote that I'm using to store boxes of storage bags. DMIL had a cabinet full of them that we inherited when she died and they were taking up an entire large shelf in the pantry. So they are now in the tote stored downstairs and we have a bit more pantry space. Most of them are storage bags and we use mostly freezer bags, so they will last us for quite a while. We submitted the paperwork to authorize the buyers' attorney to pay off our mortgage on the other house. We used that house as collateral for the down payment on this house, so we will have to pull together some funds to add to the overage there so we will be down to just one house payment very soon. YAY!! TN is increasing the rate of covid cases between 2K and 3K per day right now. We have 100+ new cases just in our little 4 county area. I swam this morning and the water is definitely getting warmer but no fishy nibbles today.

Chele, thanks for the TLC emoji start. 😎 🐔🐣🐥🐤 Good reminders on your emojis! I had to think about the feet for a second. We're not getting together yet, but I think DM is really climbing the walls lately. Duke replaced her power meter and that threw off a couple of her wifi devices. I tried to walk her through it on the phone, but we both just got frustrated! Now one of her toilets isn't working, so DBIL is going to take a look. It sounds like it just needs a new flapper. DS and DBIL have been isolating from everyone too, but they'll all still keep their distance. Karen, funny you should ask about hawk sightings. One landed on the post near my backyard and then it went into the pond and took a bath. I've never seen one do that before and it was pretty entertaining. After splashing around for a few minutes, it came out and shook itself off and flew off. That was my excitement for the day.🦅 Today's only sighting so far was a turkey buzzard. It rumbled around yesterday, but I think we only got a few sprinkles. A tropical wave is coming our way and we're supposed to get more rain tomorrow unless they've changed the forecast. I don't really trust Florida's numbers at this point, but they're definitely not good. I heard about the unmarked vans in Portland. That's very scary. The main crime they named seemed to be graffiti. I'm on Windows 10 and if you press the Windows key on the keyboard, followed by the ".", it brings up a menu with all kinds of emojis. 😍🦚🦄🍄🍅🍀🌼🌻
Becky, I hope the foot is improving. It does sound like an overuse injury, so maybe take it a little easier for a few days. My ballot for the primaries came in the mail today. One thing I've found with mail-in voting is that I vote in every election. I used to only go in person to the major ones. The first time I was old enough to vote for a president was when I lived in Houston. They had the old style voting booths where you put the curtain around you and then pulled the levers for each selection. When I moved back to Florida, they had the infamous punch card ballots that resulted in the hanging chads in the Bush/Gore election. The county I lived in had paper ballots that got scanned though, so I didn't contribute to the hanging chad fiasco! Hope you get some rain soon. Liz, how are you doing? Hope you can de-stress this weekend and have some fun. 🍹🍕🌮🍰 Hmmm, why do my emoji choices for fun all have food in them? Denise, I just have one sister and she has one son, so that's my only nephew. My brother-in-law has a couple of older children, so we do see them at family gatherings too. They're grown, but his daughter has a young boy and girl. Not sure when we'll see them again with the way things are now. I'm glad you're not on a covid floor. Linda, has the heat eased up any? We've been having overcast days and some showers, so that's helped with the temps. ⚡⛈

Kathy, 👌 Pretty cool!! Thanks for the tip! Not a huge array of emojis but more than I had with just the ones in the message board. I've never seen a 🦅 take a bath in the lake. I'll bet that was extremely entertaining. We do have a lot of black ducks do that however.

Karen, there are categories down at the bottom of the emoji window too, so there's a pretty good selection, but I'm sure Apple has more. Yahoo used to have the cutest animated ones, but they got rid of them on one of their "upgrades". The hawk was very entertaining. There are some mottled ducks around here that barely slow down when they fly to the pond and they land in the water with a big splash. I've seen them take baths before, but not the hawks.

Karen, DB is fine. He is beside himself with anger but he does not live downtown where all the illegal arrests are happening. You will be busy next week. Kathy, does your DM still drive or is she stuck in the house? I had a hawk in the bird bath last year but the basin was too small for it to splish splash so it just sat in it. The garage door is fixed. It was an electrical problem. We received the written estimate from the handyman and he is supposed to be here Monday morning. I called my hair stylist finally. She is going on vacation soon and I can’t get in until August 19. My hair will be down to my shoulders by then. I am going to get it chin length again, so I can go another 5 months without a cut. Has anyone one seen the comedian, Sarah Cooper’s lip synch videos? She takes speeches by Trump and lip synchs them in a funny way. Here is a sample. How to cognitive

Thanks for the start Chele. How nice you could see the babies on FaceTime.I do the tennis ball under my foot as they are cheaper than golf balls and I have good shoes with good support.I did buy innersoles for PF but when I was walking in the house my right hip felt off.I don't guess I will be able to wear the innersoles because of the lift I wear in the right shoe.I don't want to undo the good we did with getting the hips straighter.
Karen The top of the foot swells from time to time but the bottom also hurts like PF.I have used Penetrex,Aspercreme, generic Voltaren,Arnica.Nothing seems to help. It's just odd how it came on suddenly.I called my dr office to see about going in for an x-ray to rule out any injury and they have merged with a big company and they took out their x-ray machines. If it gets really bad I may go to Bastrop to their urgent care.We are going to get Scooter's heartgard and flea pill anyway.Who knows about Texas and the mail in voting. Now the Dems are claiming in person voting will go against the blacks and Hispanics because they are more susceptible to Covid.
Kathy Thanks but it actually hurts more today. We vote in every election but we do early voting so it's not crowded normally. We still have paper ballots so that shows how old fashioned our county is.We did get a popup unexpected shower tonight. It smelled so good.

Fingers crossed the house finishes and is really off your hands.
foot pain is the pits. I had PF a couple times while teaching,,,not a job you can sit very long at.
mailed ballots for Aug 6 yesterday! I usually drop them at an early voting place...my museum. Nit sure if they are open for that, museum is closed indefinitely. I keep working in my news clipping archives files in COVID.
First I heard the convention would be mostly outside....Florida in summer? Hurricane season? Then I heard a lot of major players were not coming. Then I heard restricted numbers..,obviously UN unnecessary work in progress just for free tv exposure. Do not really need either. have not watched one in years..,gasbags! They could each do a few speeches covered on tv and be done.
supposedly our rate is down and plateaued. But at a high level.
quiet day...couldn't sleep last night, woke at ten and did not budge until noon, just sipped my coffee and petted dog,and looked at iPAd.
did some yard work, changed a bed, load of laundry and spent most of the time with a hard puzzle. Weather was normal and sun down by 7:30 so Micki got a walk tonight.
