Good morning friends. Slept well...woke up a few times (strange dreams) but at least I was able to fall back to sleep.
Going to be another HHH day...in fact, in looking at the radar, this seems to be the weather for the week! I surely hope they are wrong.
I shall do what I know works.....plan, track, move (as I can) and hydrate which will come easy

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! We have another HHH day here as well. It did cool off some last evening. We sat out on the porch from 9-almost 10 and it was quite pleasant. We came in and watched some news, then opened the window and turned off the A/C. With the fan in the window, it was quite pleasant. Consequently I slept very well, and though I woke around 6, I went back to sleep until almost 7:30. Yay!!
Ann ~ I think your plan for today is perfect. In this kind of heat, it is always best to take it easy and be sure to hydrate!!
We have our deployment/birthday party today. I saw a lengthy post from the hostess on FB yesterday and she has covered all the bases and then some!! She shared in detail about precautions they have taken and what they expect their guests to exercise. It just reinforced for us that this is an OK idea! The food is being catered and prepackaged and they are only having water, pop and beer all in tubs of ice. She also mentioned that anyone is welcome to bring whatever things of their own makes them feel better. They have a lot of room to spread out and are setting up tents with tables well spaced and even outdoor fans due to the expected HHH today. There will be fresh coverings on the tables and hand sanitizer on each table. People are encouraged to social distance and, of course, wear masks. They are even providing some for those who don't bring them. She also asked people not to sit on the back deck as it is reserved for her 93-year-old grandma and her DFIL who is a stroke survivor. Wow! She really did put a lot into this!! I am truly impressed!! I am wearing a white and blue outfit, and just for fun, my Mickey/Minnie mouse mask that my friend made me. Always sure to bring a smile.
We started our day with toasted Thomas' Bagel Thins and a fresh fruit bowl. DH had peanut butter and I had light cream cheese. I doubt we will eat again at home today as the party is at 2 and the food will be there then, according to her FB post. I suspect we will be home quite early as we will truly meet 'n greet 'n eat and then start saying our good-byes. I'm leaning towards a snack-type supper tonight.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue WOWZER!!! That party truly was planned with all health issues covered. Even down to the separate area for 2 family members. Relax and have a ball.
I'm sure your mask will be a hit. Look for the smiling eyes lol.
Haven't done a thing but take LuLa out in the yard. I had my 2 planned meals plenty of coffee and water and have our little crockpot on with chili to have over rice.
I did some reading and napping. Haven't even hit 5000 steps and that's fine. Tomorrow may find me more energetic.
Waving....

Good afternoon!
I didn't make it back to post yesterday. The outing with the kids went well, except that Abby got bored and it was miserably hot. We knew it would all be above Abby's head, but we couldn't exclude her or she would have been hurt. Also, Jude and Anna are her sitters right now. We stopped for McDonald's drive-thru and it was a disaster. We didn't get half our order and only 2 of 5 drinks. DH was getting worked up, so I told him to just drive on, because it wasn't worth the hassle. We shared the food we did get and had bottles of water to drink so all was okay. We stopped at a sno-ball stand on the way back as an extra treat.
DH and I both took naps when we got home. We had leftovers for dinner and watched the live-stream of my cousin's candlelight vigil. It was almost as good as being there and touched my heart to see a couple hundred people coming to pay tribute. Today, we were able to watch the funeral online also. This has been devastating to me, but DH has been particularly upset. It all brought back some terrible memories for him and he has been having trouble sleeping and drank too much last night. I am hoping being able to talk with me about it last night and the funeral today will bring him some closure. He should have had therapy a long time ago, but never did and would refuse it now, I'm sure. He does seem better this afternoon.
We are having my delayed birthday celebration this evening. DH is cooking ribs, sausage, green beans, corn and potatoes. DD1 & family and DD2 are coming and we will finally watch Hamilton. I have eaten light today in anticipation. I didn't walk today as I needed to do some housecleaning before company and didn't meet my goal yesterday either, though we did walk a good bit at Whitney Plantation. I will try to do better tomorrow.
Sue - It sounds like every precaution has been taken for the deployment party, so enjoy!
Ann - I was impressed you were able to get in so many steps walking indoors. I need to follow your example.
Judy - I hope it works out for DD with VIPKids. I felt comfortable recommending them after my friend's positive experience and it seemed something that might work for your DD, with small children to care for.
Almost time for DD's to arrive!

Our party was a huge success!! This time she had round tables set up under the tents instead of long banquet tables. We arrived and found a couple we knew sitting at one of the 6' rounds and we sat across from them which spaced us out just perfectly, so we ate together and chatted and then enjoyed cookies and ice cream afterward. They left and another youngster came and sat across from us with his girlfriend. We have known him since he was just a kid and he has turned into a fabulous young man!! We also got to chat with our host and hostess some throughout the party. The food was catered and fabulous - hot food was hot and cold salads were cold - and there were many cookies (all individually wrapped) and an ice cream cart sitting outdoors. There were several large fans blowing the air around underneath the tents. The drinks were all individual and on ice. No one had to touch anything that anyone else touched. I mastered the automatic response to hug those that I usually greet with a hug until the very end when our host wrapped me in a big bear hug. Since it was his party and he was the reason I was there, it was fine. He will be deployed overseas the end of next month and will be gone for a year. We stayed for 2 1/2 hours which surprised me because the time just seemed to fly by! We reminisced all the way home about how many people we knew there and the different ways they know each other and the host couple. Surely does seem like a small world!! It was a very satisfying event and we were very glad we went.

Sue so very happy that you enjoyed your time together. I'll say it again...they really know how to throw a SAFE get together. I bet those 2.5 hours just flew by. Yes it really is a small world.....
(((Pam))) I bet it was bittersweet watching the live stream of your dear cousin's candlelight vigil. I can relate to those kinds of things stirring up memories. My heart goes out to you DH and I pray that he finds comfort in the days ahead. You are wise to talk to him about things so that he can get it out.
Hope you enjoy you delayed bday celebration. Food sounds yummy.
I am now going to sit for a bit. Still haven't decided whether or not to walk with Carl and LuLa when the sun goes down. It was 94 with the real feel of 101 earlier. I only took LuLa in the backyard to do her thing. Carl is good with walking her solo. I will open the door to see how the 'air feels to me' before I walk.
Sweet dreams......

Hi all,
Happy Saturday night from the Cape. We arrived here about 2 as we had things to ge done at home first. Traffic wasn’t too bad despite the heat and being the day cottages change over for vacationers. I was able to spend a few hours on our beach under an umbrella reading and it was so peaceful and relaxing. I always feel as though my DNA is in that bay. My mom’s, dad’s and brother’s ashes were all sprinkled in the bay so I find it a great comfort to be here. It doesn’t hurt that it was a beautiful day with a nice southwest breeze. There were lots of boaters out and kayakers so always plenty of entertainment. I love summer here even though I miss extended family visits.
Sue, wow, your party host really nailed it as far as pandemic preparation and still having a party atmosphere, great food and fun. It sounded wonderful!
Ann, hope you enjoyed a relaxing day.
Pam, l’m glad you had time with your DGKs despite the heat and the McDonald’s takeout fiasco. 😄. How did you like Hamilton? I want to see it, too. I’m glad that you were able to stream the services for your cousin. So sorry about your DH experiencing a reminder of a tough time. Hope he was able to talk to you about it. Your birthday celebration with your daughters sounded like a great feast. Your DH is such a good cook!
We grilled burgers with sautéed snow peas and rice tonight. We watched a good movie on Netflix called Fathers and Daughters. Tearjerker but a good cast and I think you all might like it.
off to bed. We had more drama with DDs ex on Friday. He request a trial! Good Lord. He can’t be reasoned with and we have a zoom attorney meeting first thing Monday. I’m trying not to stress about it but it’s so expensive and this louse is trying to scare and intimidate. My DH remains pretty calm. There’s a good chance mr. wonderful will have to pay if it goes into court. We’ve already spent a small fortune but we have no choice and we want to help. Our precious grandchildren deserve support and a good future. He’s so unpredictable- who knows what he’ll do next. I’m trying to remain calm and take it one step at a time. Thanks for listening.
