Linda, I hope you got some more sleep last night. Poor Micki. I am sure he is wondering what is going on. How is Bob handling his little buddy being ill? I know you must be worrying. It is easy to spoil our pets because they give us so much love and the puppy eyes are irresistible.
Becky, sorry to hear the foot is hurting again. I hope you havenāt sprained or broken anything. Teddy was picky about his heartworm medicine like Scooter. I know what you mean about the lawn not growing. Our green bean plants donāt look so good. We may get one crop from them if we are lucky.
Kathy, DMās wildlife seems abundant. Those naughty squirrels. Yes, they seem to like the fragrant plants. They dug up all my Oriental lilies. I bet she is happy she got all her things fixed.
Karen, that is a lot of zucchini bread. Have you tried zoodling the zucchini and freezing it? I have not. I was just wondering if it gets too mushy and soggy when you defrost it. That roasted tomato sauce sounds good, I ight have to try it when the tomatoes ripen, if there are enough of them. Iggy made baked zucchini fries yesterday. He rolled the zucchini in a panko, romano, egg batter and baked them. They turned out good, but to be honest I prefer them just roasted with salt and pepper. Donāt tell the chef, though. He made a quick marinara sauce for dipping. I also see zucchini fritters and zoodles in my future as he bought a lot of zucchini.
Denise, have a good uneventful week. How are the veggie plants coming along? Is the heat getting to any of them? My green beans donāt look so good. The basil and tomatoes love this heat and humidity. If only the chipmunk would leave my cherry tomatoes alone. We have one pepper plant doing well. The others have fizzled.
Liz, how was the weekend? Did you get to rest up? How is the grilling coming? Have you used the grill yet? I hope the week goes well.
I got the hair off my neck. Yay! It is in a chin length bob. I told my stylist we were avoiding layers, just in case it had to grow out again. She said she hoped they were not going to shut her down again. The stylists work every other day to maintain distancing. You have to text when you arrive so no one is in the waiting area and everyone must wear a mask. She wiped down the chair right after my shampoo and took my payment right at the cutting station. As it was Sunday no one was there but the two of us, so that was nice.
Have a good Monday.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Sorry your plants aren't doing so well. I'm a bit surprised about the green beans. I have never tried to freeze zoodles but I've seen them in the supermarket, so at least the commercial brands have figured out how to do it. I'll let you know how the shredded zucchini defrosts. Iggy's fries sound good but I agree with you about roasting being better. Yay on the hair cut. I know it has to feel better. Your stylist seems to have her processes down pat, which is a good thing. Talk about well done cookies! Funny that it made the news there and not here despite it happening in TN.
Kathy, it takes a village....Good that all of DM's repairs are made. I'm sure she misses seeing people. Dale and I often say how it would have been impossible to have kept DMIL at home all this time. I'll bet those wascally squirrels do love the hibiscus flowers. They are quite sweet and tasty, at least for teas. That is probably hysterical watching them try to access a flower that isn't a low hanging one. We actually got about a 15 minute shower yesterday evening. It wasn't much so I still had to water everything this morning, but it's a start.
How's the foot today, Becky? Do I remember this not being a PT day because there were no a.m. appointments? I hope Scooter's ear clears up, what ever is going on with it. Too bad about the pills not working out. Saving $$ would have been nice. We have Arya on the regular Heartgard (not the Plus) and she loves it. We call it "puppy crack". All our girls have always loved it. I use a topical flea and tick product called Natural Chemistry that is essential oils and she also gets brewers yeast and garlic tablets in her dinner. We found a dead tick on her a couple of weeks ago, so it must be working. Good news on your niece. She deserves a break with all she's been through.
Linda, I saw about the positive babies in TX. I hope none of them have symptoms that could affect them for the rest of their lives. What a way to start out in life! Did you have another peaceful, dry night? Is Micki still a bit clingy? He has to feel a little weird. Like Chele, I also wondered how Bob was handling Micki's diagnosis.
Hope your last work night til time off goes smoothly, Denise. Any plans for your days off?
Liz, I hope things are going well with the new building. How was your weekend?
I'm still waiting to hear back from the RE agent on what to do regarding utilities at the other house. I finished Arya's dinner cooking, so that's done for a month. Second load in the washer. Swam a little over 1/2 mile. MG board meeting tonight. That's probably enough for one day. I also have to get things ready for the trip to AVL tomorrow for car service. It's taking more planning because I have to figure out how many masks I need to have for the stops I plan to make and what special processes each stop has. I saw something on the Noon news about an interview with the president of a Santa association about ow there may not be mall Santas this year due to covid. Linda said something about still having to wear masks then, but I hadn't thought about some of the other usual things that could change. The interview did end with Santa reminding us to keep Christmas in our hearts all year, however.

Chele, yes, DM is happy to have things fixed. I loaned her a pair of binoculars for wildlife watching and she's been using them. The hummingbirds have been visiting fairly often, so that's fun to watch. Someone just posted a picture of a bobcat near the wilderness park where we hiked. They're pretty, but they're known to have a nasty disposition. Not something I want to see up close in the wild! I bet the cookie dough fire smelled good. šŖ It's been pouring most of the day and it was supposed to be dry today. Just looked at their latest forecast and it still says dry. Wrong! There is a tropical blob in the gulf and it looks like we're getting weather from it earlier than expected.
Karen, I witnessed one of the squirrels having a hibiscus feast and it was hilarious. First he tried to walk out on the branches, but they wouldn't hold him up. Then he resorted to shaking them until he got some flowers to fall off.
My grocery order just got picked up, so I'll try to check in later. Yay, I got a woman! I've found them to be much better produce pickers.

Kathy, the squirrels sound funny. Friend in Chicago had one fall out of a tree and almost hit him!
Today is moon day...anniversary of walk on moon.
Saw an article yesterday about having zucchini ribbons (veg peeler) instead of zoodles. She uses them in salads too. Printed a recipe for zucchini parmesan pie..sort of quiche with no crust. Got the squash..maybe in two days.
I had not thought about mall Santas ...yeah, not good for virus.
Between dog and virus I actually do not want to eat (lost 1.5 in last three days) and I am a stress eater.
Cannot get to sleep until after midnight, sometimes later, but I must be up to give the insulin shot after he eats at five. It has to be 12 hours apart, so it looks like even when he isn't getting a walk early because it is dark, I will have to get up and feed him then do the shot.Takes time to get back to sleep, but it just isn't the same sleep. Yesterday I put his premade breakfast into the pantry instead of fridge. cannot take sleep aid as I will be too dopey to get shot right. I guess things will settle after a while..just hard now. Bob cannot do it...inherited benign tremor.
good news, the rest of the blood work came back ok. So we only have one thing to deal with. Vet said the fact that he stopped guzzling water once we started insulin and eliminating carbs from snacks might make him a good candidate for quickly settling.
called brother's house to check on nephew with Corona and see that nobody else is sick. No answer. Hmm . He is home this week because of exposure (nurse). She is working at home ..administrative for preschool. Pulling out hair on plans for school. Niece Back east says all ok.
DSIL is having major allergy asthma attacks from pollen and stress. Her married daughter moved to DC to teach special ed elementary autistic kids while spouse studies diplomatic grad program at Georgetown. They live north of the White House now. Between school issues , virus and weird politics and Homeland security force there, Dsil is awfully worried.
We just muddle along.today I got groceries at Sprouts nearby...dairy, meat and produce mostly. A bit crowded but masked and people turn away if you have to pass. Got most of it stashed.
Sky is darkly cloudy but rain evaporates night up and never lands...just high 90s and humid..I will take no sun happily.

.good thing we have leftovers, too tired to cook.
just found out Micki needs insulin right after he eats...can get away half hour. it is every 12 hours. so breakfast for him is when he gets up for the walk which is early because of summer heat. if I can just do the shot right away instead of when they get back 20 minutes later, I can go back to sleep sooner. it remains to be seen if he will stay still when he expects a walk. Hope I can get to sleep earlier to night.
as we know, I am not a lark . this is every day rest of his life.
enjoyed dark clouds today and temps under 100 by us..even if rain evaporated high up.
nephew's symptoms from Covid went away. rest of family ok so far.

Thanks for the start Chele. My foot is acting odd.It seems like every other day it feels worse.Today not as bad.Yay on the haircut.I'm sure you feel better now.
Karen Yes you remember right about this not being a PT day.I go Wednesday and Friday. The foot is some better today but as I told Chele it seems like every other day it's worse. This was a generic Heartgard. It wasn't even called heartgard.Scooter likes the regular stuff and she will chew on the Nexgard for fleas but these were bigger pills and not very tasty evidently. It did have a bad smell to it I thought.Of course last night when I gave her the Frosty Paws without crushed up pills she loved it.My recumbent bike is on it's last legs so I ordered one from Amazon. This one was never a very good one.It won't be here until Friday and then it will probably be Sat or Sun before we get it assembled. This one is hurting my right leg so I may have to lower my minutes on it until I get the new one set up.
Linda I hope the insulin helps Micki sooner rather than later.
