Hugs and prayers MJ. Hope things start heading in the right direction for Russ and what you need to do for him. A tent and strong breeze kept the bbq tolerable yesterday Today is just a wall of water. Did an indoor workout instead of a bike ride and will stay in AC.

diva49, keeping fingers crossed for a smooth visit with Russ and his financials. susiq25679, I am with you about staying in the A/C. Whew, it's been warm and muggy here, even at 6 a.m. Today, I'm going to the mall when it opens at 10 a.m. to see what stores are open and to walk in the cooler air. I wish they'd let the walkers in earlier, as before, but I've read that isn't happening yet. I'm going to ask one of the security guards about that when I walk this morning. Chicken is on the menu tonight but I need to decided how to prepare it. Have a good day, y'all!

Happy Monday!
I got to spend the weekend with the grandson! I babysat Saturday while mom & dad were at work and then spent the night so they could go out. It was nice to get to be with him! He is such a delight (even if he can get whiny, but he's only almost 7 months)! He is so close to crawling and likes to try to chase their dog (he wont catch her, she stays far away from him)! he LOVES to eat!
Back to work today! Trying to get things in our schedule finalized before enrollment on Thursday. It's still such a mess! I bet after all of this, they end up switch to online only. UGH! I will just say I am glad I don't have kids in school anymore! I can't imagine the struggle parents are going thru right now (talking about highschool and younger. Those college kids should be making their own decisions)!
I hope you all have a good day! Today starts the back on track for me! At least I only gained .8 lbs last week with all the junk food I ate!
Be well! Positive energy to all!

diva49,- sending good vibes for you and your brother, and whole family. neen, I'm glad you got to see your grandson. Yes you are right about the start of school being stressful for parents. But it's also crazy for teachers, Things are changing by the minute. I'm suffering a pretty bad panic attack today. Started last night when I could not sleep. Took a shower at 1:00 in the morning to calm my mind and body. I set up an appointment with counselor (on line), called the crisis line just to talk and contacted my family Dr. about some meds to just boost me through this right now. Using all my coping strategies. Wishing you all health and safety Heather

hpeterson1951, I can't imagine the stress teachers are going thru!! I have several friends that are teachers and the stories they are sharing about the plans to open up schools are just scary. You all don't get paid enough for that!

i'm still friends with my girls' 1st grade spanish teacher and she is livid about the situation. my ex husband also wrote an article for his magazine about teachers being forced back into the classroom when they don't want to be. he was so depressed while working on that story. one teacher has a son and husband with auto-immune diseases that if she brought covid home to them, could be fatal. i think he said she is in the state of PA where if i'm not mistaken there is no teachers' union in that state so the teachers are at the mercy of the politicians.
in any case, i can say i'm grateful for living in CA where the governor has ordered no in person instruction if the county hasn't met certain (pretty strict) criteria and that is my "one thing" for today!

Iโm in. Dh placed an order with the grocery store and itโs already been delivered! We do appreciate this service. They leave the order on the porch and then let us know, so no contact. We now have fruit and yogurt so Iโm ready for the day!
Sending prayers and hugs to MJ and Toots.
Also sending prayers and hugs to hpeterson1951. It sounds like you have a plan.

finreporter ,- I'm in PA too. We have a state and local unions, but maybe not all districts participate. I know Christian and private schools don't have unions. neen ,- Your comment made me smile- thank you. I'm so tired of hearing that teachers make too much money and only work 1/2 year! I'm not going to lie, moving to district is a nice bonus and I don't need to worry about utilities being shut off, etc. But we do work WAY more than 1/2 year and compared to business people we don't make that much. I know compared social workers and other jobs we make a lot, I guess it's all relative. Thank you everyone for your hugs and support. I'm making a plan for tonight with hot tea, shower, essential oils, etc. The people on these boards are wonderful. Thank you
