Pam happy you enjoyed a laid back day. That's a great idea to have electricity in the green room. I'm sure you'll both enjoy it. We have a ceiling fan that Carl installed in our screen room which helps tremendously as that room gets a LOT of sun. We also have solar lights in there which make for a nice atmosphere at night. Last night it was still too hot (89 degrees) so we enjoyed our Chianti inside.
Those potatoes sound great. Enjoy your early morning walk.
(((Judy))) more hugs and prayers your way.
Today will be another laid back day. It's already HHH out there and this is day #3 of the heat advisory! I am so over this weather. Walmart Tractor Supply and Hannaford's may or may not happen. It depends on how I feel.
Running the AC is making my right implant hurt. I had a light sweater on yesterday which helped some and took my Rx cocktail of Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I may have to repeat that today.
Wishing all a pleasant and OP day. Keep cool and I'll CBL Don't W

Hi All and greetings from the Black Rock cafe ion this muggy, overcast Monday. This is my third attempt to complete a post. The one above is an anomaly for sure! Never seen that configuration.
We - the dogs and I - plan to stay hunkered down in front of the A/C today working. I do have to make a trip to the grocery to mostly get F&V and cold cuts for DH. I have a zoom call with DD& her attorney at noon. I sure wish I had a crystal ball and could poof this awful situation to an ending. It WILL end. Thanks for all your prayers, thoughts and good vibes. We need all of them.
DD would love to come home for a week in August, but I don't see how that could happen with our mandatory quarantine rule for anyone coming into this state from anywhere other than the New England States plus NY and NJ. Who knows- another uncertain.
I woke to some sad news when I received a message from another friend that we've lost a good pal at age 58. She left the area a few years ago to move to the south shore of MA and died on July 5. She was a beautiful person - outside and in and I don't have details yet. She was a beauty queen in high school and college, but it is her sparkling kindness and generosity and fun that made her so lovable.
Ann, so sorry the implants are bothering you in the A/C. Hope the tylenol and advil help.
I'll come back after my call to fill you all in. I'm so relieved to have all of you to talk to. It lightens the burden of this horrible situation. Never dreamed it would be this bad when we think back on their courtship and beautiful wedding and happy years. TTFN Worse now because of the children.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! We have another HHH day on tap for today. It is already mid 70's and sunny and humid - and it's only mid-morning. It is supposed to go up to 90 today. I have been out for a twice-around walk already this morning. I simply MUST get my weight back under control! I'm at goal, but I had been 5-6 pounds below goal during the early part of the pandemic. We don't have an appreciable cool-down in sight. Oh well, it is Summer after all!! We did get to sleep with the window open last night. After sitting outside for about an hour and a half, we decided the breeze was too good to waste <LOL>
I woke up this morning to DH asking me what I had to do today and I drew a blank! The usual stuff, personal hygiene care, etc. Then I packed him up a cooler of iced drinks to take with him. Then I had to think of something for supper, and once again I drew a blank!! Somehow this is rapidly getting to be less fun. BUT, I will regroup and get back on track. I have thawed out a (cooked) rotisserie chicken breast from Sam's Club for tonight and we have leftover mac 'n cheese and coleslaw so that may be tonight's supper. I am also making my Mango Salad so maybe a side dish of that?? I took a package of pork chops out to thaw for tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, I have just put the first load of laundry in the dryer and second load is washing now. We certainly wear fewer clothes when it's warm - or maybe they're just lighter weight than our winter clothes?? Anyway, one load of white/light and one load of darks and done! I did DH's work clothes over the weekend, so they're out of the way.
I have had my yogurt 'n berries with Fiber One for breakfast and thinking about lunch. I have cottage cheese in the fridge along with NSA peach slices, so that's one easy quick lunch. I'll see what I feel like when the time comes, as I also have WW Chili.
Ann ~ I was picturing your solar lights in the screen room. I bet they are a great touch! I love things like that. Sorry about the A/C making you uncomfortable, but it is a necessary evil with this weather. Take it easy today, as tomorrow is another day.
Pam ~ I had to LOL at your comment about your DH (age). I have the same situation over here. Mine has no idea that he's not 45 anymore. In fact, he will grouse about things he "used to do" that take so much more out of him now. I have decided not to repeat the obvious, and just smile sympathetically. You will certainly enjoy your fan and radio in the Green Room.
Judy ~ I do hope the attorney has some good news - or at least a good idea. I know it is a balancing act deciding how much to help DD financially but between you you will figure it out. Glad you waited until later to make the drive home.
I never got back to my book yesterday, as I spent too much time playing games and reading Facebook. So that is on my list for today!! I'm barely into it and in fact have only met one of the two main characters in depth. Looking forward to diving in!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Thanks for the soothing vibes girls. You are the best Fingers crossed...so far so good with the pain level. I am most grateful for that. Carl went on a mercy mission to Hannaford's to pick up produce and a few other items. We will save Walmart and Tractor Supply for another day. I'm just not in the mood today. In fact, after I showered, I put on another set of lounging jammies and here I shall remain for the rest of the day. I did finish my James Patterson book and will start another one soon. Judy so sorry that you lost a friend...and one that is so young! Praying for all involved. Also sending you prayers and calming vibes that you hear GOOD NEWS via the zoom with the attorney. I swear these computers at times have a mind of their own. Sue I knew that you would enjoy the solar lights in the screen room. I especially like them as they are round white balls and remind me of snowballs which help to 'keep me cool' LOL....They help make thing more festive Hopefully you can get to you book today. I don't have a FB account, but I know the feeling of playing games. I also 'color' on my phone LOL....it relaxes me Perhaps I'm going through my second or third childhood I've been going over bills and such and doing all that sort of thing. Actually I don't mind as I like to know what we have and have not before we make any purchases. At this stage of the game, there is little 'wiggle room' for mistakes. I was happy to be able to pay off our home insurance. Yesterday Carl smoked country style ribs and we will have those today with baked beans. My other meals will be light to compensate. Waving to Pam and will CBL

Hey all,
I had three errands today and that about wiped me out. I am so out of practice to run around here and there and in this heat, it was hard. I had a trip to the grocery and my little outing for F&V quickly racked up to much more. But, all stuff we need so it's good. I like the feeling of having plenty of fresh food around. I bought a pineapple as they were $1.99 each. Good deal. Lots of fruits - peaches, plums, strawberries. No cherries as I did not finish the last "batch" and I skipped the grapes this time. I like to mix it up. I have lots of yogurt now - Light & Fit Greek in all the flavors I like. Like you all say it is really about the little things. That is where the quality of life lies. I also had to drive to a friend's where she met me in the driveway. She went to a Polish market in Connecticut over the weekend and picked up Pierogis and stuffed cabbage for my DH. It's called The Pierogi Queen! Cute. We had a 10-15 minute chat which was nice. I'll see her later this week for our socially distanced book club gathering. I'm bringing my own salad to that and others are either having sandwiches provided by the host from a nearby shop or bringing their own.
The call with the attorney left me feeling a bit better. She told me not to lose sleep and that she will be going after him for court cost and she will not be charging us for her court retainer which is very large. We will have costs incurred month to month as we have, but that will be from her working on the trial. She is sending a new motion now amended to see if he will negotiate. Also, she said, and I concur, that he is doing all this to try to scare us. We agreed. Our DD said, sadly, he will go to any lengths to maintain control. I feel stronger and know that we will do what we can up to a point and hope and pray for the best. So, I think I will sleep better for a bit. In the meantime, DD is trying hard to bring in more kids and to build her business back up. I always reassure her that it will all work out no matter how nervous I feel. There will be an END to this madness.
Ann, I love the little snow globes in your porch area. Fun.
Sue, I know how you feel doing the same thing day in and day out. It does get old for us. I miss going out to dinner and having fun with friends. I'm thankful for work to keep me busy. We four all have a lot of interests and throughout my life, it has always been my love of reading that is the best escape ever. I could sit under a shady tree all day when was 10 and on up. I still would if I could. Now it's the beach where I can sit all day and read. I'm so thankful for that escape.
I found out that my friend contracted meningitis around New Year's Eve and suffered a terrible stroke. She lost her speech and had brain surgery and had been in rehab until her husband brought her home when COVID started. She died on July 6 on her son's birthday. So tragic. 58 and she was one of those people who I thought would live until 90 easily. Healthy, slim and trim, a runner, ate the healthiest diet ever. THey built their dream home a few years ago and I am glad she enjoyed it for a bit. You never know...like your friend Sue. Wasn't he in his 50s?

Ann - What a wonderful idea to add solar lights! I may try putting some in the green room. I'm happy to hear that your Rx cocktail did the trick.
Judy- Yay for the attorney smoothing things out for you. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. So young! Tomorrow is not promised to us, so live every day like it's your last, I always say. This has been brought home in many ways recently. I have been enjoying fresh pineapple lately, so I bought one of those corers and it works wonderful.
Sue - I have been struggling to find something to keep me busy, too. Too many lazy days in a row will get me depressed. Our laundry seems to have grown. We each wear 2-3 shirts and sets of underwear since it's so hot and humid. After outside exercise or work, you have to put on dry clothes, whether or not you shower right away, since you are soaked from the skin out. Then, clean clothes after a shower. Oh well, it's not like I have much else to do!
I tried to sleep in this morning, but woke shortly after 6:00 and again at 7:10. I walked a couple of miles this morning and then watered outdoor plants, trimmed them and re-potted 6 plants. I was tickled pink to find 3 little bromeliads under a huge banana plant in the green room. They were ones my mom had given me (11+ years ago) and I thought them long-dead from a severe winter several years ago. Yet there they were. They are now ensconced in some new pots DH found on Amazon and ordered for me. I also moved some succulents to bigger pots as they were crowding out the smaller varieties. I was so sweaty and dirty when I finished I hopped in the shower.
Today is my older DB's 70th birthday. It is also Anna's 13th, so after Abby's t-ball game, we will have a family birthday pizza supper for her at DD1's. There are thunderstorms in the general area, but not raining here, so hopefully it will be cooler than usual for the t-ball game. DD2 said she was coming, too, so should be a fun evening.

Pam how awesome to find the bromelaids under the banana plant in your green room. Especially seeing as they were given to you by your mom I know you earned that shower!!!! Great job on the walk. Needless to say I haven't left the house today. Just too darn hot. Carl went to Hannafords and picked up the produce and odds and ends that we needed. Tomorrow hopefully we'll get to Walmart Time will tell. Enjoy the double bday celebration! Nice that you will get to see DD2 as well. Our supper was over the top good. I am trying to house walk...but it's hard as all I want to do is sit. I did break 10K so happy about that. There is always tomorrow....................... Sweet dreams all.

One more update that I forgot to mention - a very positive one. I lost 5 lbs this week. That's a record. Now I just need to keep momentum going. I really stayed within my pts and had no desserts, etc.
So glad you re-potted your mom's bromelaids. I think she sent them to you to let you know she's thinking of you! I so wish I had my mom back. I do dream of her a lot.
I feel I am too busy lately. I have many irons in the fire between all this attorney stuff, the real estate classes and orientation I am atteding and the ukulele lessons and helping the teacher set up a new fee schedule and recruit more players. I need to save time for reading and resting. Work has also kept me going as well.
Tomorrow AM i have to drop the dogs at the groomers for their baths and grooming and then I head right to the foot doctor for the ingrown toenail and other issues. I will be on later in the day! Have a good night all. TTFN
I can't stop thinking of my friend. Pam, what you said is so true and I love that expression. Happy birthday to your DGD and to your brother. Have fun with family tonight.

What kind of pineapple corer did you get? I don't have one. I manage okay with a good knife but I might want a corer.
