.I am starting to sleep earlier...working on it. But cannot get back to sleep this morning. Wish I could sleep like a dog.
DH woke at 1:30 and did not sleep! After the walk he fell into bed. Staying quiet .Lot if political anxiety about storm troopers descending in cities for politics and election lately ...on top Of virus. He gets very upset. I am trying not to think about it.
got to freeze some of those cookies!
we might ...,maybe...get a bit if rain at last today. Been nothing since early April.

Thanks for the start, Chele. What is keeping Iggy busy this week? Dale said Rocky's GF stopped by 4 times while I was at Osteo. She is smaller and doesn't have a pot belly, so we can tell them apart. I heard Ohio now has a statewide mask mandate. Good for Gov. Dewine. Wish our governor would do the same. We are up almost 100 cases in Sevier County since yesterday and the line for tests at the health department had room for one more vehicle before it would be blocking a lane of traffic. LA is talking about a second shutdown. Maybe a lot of us need to be thinking about that. Won't happen here because they want to cater to the tourists.
Linda, the corn salad sounds like something I would love. How do you cut it off the cob? Sorry about the cooked lemons. That's unfortunate. I couldn't have chocolate chip cookies in the house. Good luck with them. There wouldn't be any to freeze here. Yes, forward is forward and speed is optional. I agree on sleeping like a dog. Arya is zonked out next to me. Hope the earlier to bed will be helpful. I heard an interview with Chicago's mayor this morning and she said she gave Trump parameters on what the feds could do there and she would not allow her city to become the next Portland. Michael Steele, the former RNC chair, had some amazing comments this morning about November will determine whether we will sink further away from a democracy and into an autocracy. It's scary. I'm not particularly political but this scares the H#%% out of me. I'm with Bob!
How's it going with the foot and the steroids, Becky? I hope the bike gets there tomorrow and is pretty easy to put together. Isn't this about the 3rd one you've had since you joined this thread? Is this one different from the last one you got at Academy Sports? Congrats on graduating from PT. I hope the home exercises go well as you continue your recovery. You are quite ahead of schedule compared to other people I know who have had the same surgery.
Denise, DM always did artificial flowers, which was good because I am allergic to a lot of fresh flowers including roses.
I understand about the weekend still important, Kathy. I was the same way for a while after I retired. So far as special treats, it's probably best to plan those for a specific timeframe or it could become more often than you want. So that's one way to keep things in check. We are having small slivers of cheesecake for dinner to celebrate Dale's birthday.
Liz, Friday's coming!
I ran into rain on my way home, so my clean car is no longer as clean as it was. The skies are clouding up, but the radar looks iffy. I guess plants will need to be watered again after dinner. I tried a different route coming home to avoid the tourist traffic and I'm not sure I saved any time but at least I didn't have to sit in traffic. There is just no good way to get around here to avoid the traffic jams during tourist season.

Hello Chicks and happy Thursday! Yes, I do still exist and even manage to breathe (albeit) through my mask each day. Chele - how are you feeling? How are the sinuses and how is Iggy doing? I must apologize for being MIA but work has been exceptionally insane and we are 10 days out from opening the new Women's Center. Hope you are keeping sane and safe with that rise in cases but am also glad to know about the mask mandate. Kathy - how are you girl? How is the family doing? Your ICUs are being over-run in so many hospitals that it gave me deja vu! Any bear sightings? Gary was out walking the pups this morning and believes he spotted 2 coyotes; not good news for the small animals in the neighborhood. Becky - how is the foot doing with the steroid shot? Are you getting some relief? Congratulations on graduating PT!! You have done really well and I thinks it's a terrific testament to your persistence! I hope Kenneth and the fur babies are well. We won't talk about Texas numbers as you're getting to the ridiculous stage right behind Cali. Linda - I hope getting to bed earlier is helpful! I know many people are so despondent over the state of the nation and how things are being handled and run. It's the first time I can remember when there appears to be such little hope. I find that terrifying. Please stay safe and well! Karen - DBIL will have Whipple surgery next Wed. with Dr. Vollmer who is one of the nation's top pancreatic surgeons. DSIL seems much assured by what they've been told but I still believe it is a difficult and tricky situation. We will say prayers and stay optimistic. I hope your allergies have been better. I'm a bit of a walking zombie but as you know the show must go on so I keep slugging away. Heat and humidity have been bad and I am looking forward to cooler weather sometime. I'm eating too many sweets which of course isn't good; working on trying to curtail that. Stress level is a bit off the ricter scale so that I'm hoping if and when things calm down a bit, so will my flipping stress eating . How are Dale and Arya doing? Wally had me up and out at 2:30am this morning and of course while we were out a bunny ran across the court and he almost went apoplectic! Zoe has been drinking and wee-weeing like a fiend so I am keeping an eye on that. Gary is doing well, playing golf once a week. Hello to Denise; I hope you are having a good work week. I need to scoot as I have been listening to my inbox light up with more emails. Take care of yourselves and please know that I think of you and miss you all! Ciao for now~

Wow, Liz, sure hope you get some rest.
Happy birthday to a Dale.
Well, I was in the shopping group today. Took back a case of dog food Micki cannot eat now..slowly converting him to Glycobalance. Swapped it for Greenies toothbrush chews. He can have one every night.
Then Safeway...drat, I can no longer remember where they moved everything to. They changed it around just before the virus hit and I am seldom there. Thought there was a lot of soup...nope, just filled it up with mostly same 12 kinds. Lots of TP in brands I never heard of. Disinfecting cleaning sprays were there but no toilet cleaner!Weird.
sort of sleepy...got up at five to peel eyes ooen and fire up brain for shot around 5:25. Could not get back to sleep this time.
Windy and cloudy with storms all around us but nit here. Fingers crossed for some rain.

Chele, thanks for the start. Hope the allergies aren't too bad today.
Karen, Happy Birthday to Dale! Hope you both enjoyed the cheesecake. I do think keeping treats as a weekend thing has helped me not gain a bunch of weight during this year. It's very scary to think what could happen with four more years of this administration.
Linda, did the cookies make it into the freezer? The storm troopers are very alarming and understandable that it's causing anxiety. I'm worried about the election too. I probably won't remember how to grocery shop in person when this is all over. It's really helped that I'm doing my mom's orders since I get more chances of finding things in stock. It's very hit and miss as to what's in stock each time, but they do seem to have name brand TP now.
Liz, good to hear from you! No mask mandate here, but they cancelled the Jacksonville part of the GOP convention, so yay for that! I just listened to the local news and there was no mention of running out of ICU beds here, but I think South Florida is in much worse shape. Parents have until tomorrow to decide on what kind of schooling their kids will have this year and they said only about 1/3 had made a selection so far. If they don't select an option, their kids will be enrolled in regular face-to-face classes. They're plowing ahead with starting on August 10 and I'm just hoping it's not a complete disaster. Hope all goes well with DBIL and will keep him in my prayers. I can just picture Wally with the bunny. Bunnies and squirrels used to drive our beagle nuts! Hope Zoe is okay and glad to hear that Gary is doing well. Hope you get some good relaxation in this weekend. Any plans?
Becky, are you expecting any rain from the tropical storm heading to TX? It looked like it's going pretty far south. It's been pulling moisture across FL, so we've been getting more rain today. Hope the foot is improving.
Denise, hope things have been calm at work.

Thanks for the start Chele.
Linda It's a shame Bob gets so upset about the news. I do think troops should be sent to Chicago. What a horrible shooting that was but for politics and such they should just leave everyone alone and let them work out their own problems.
Karen It's a shame your governor hasn't gone with some of the other states with the mask mandate. It's the one right thing Abbott has done lately.A second shutdown won't be happening here either.Travis County and Austin seem to be doing a little better on their numbers. The foot is a little better and the steroids are making me hungrier but so far drinking more water has helped that.I think this will be the 3rd bike. The one I have now was never good from the beginning.Hopefully the new one will be better. The one from Academy was the best one I have had so far.The current one came from Amazon and so is the new one.The main thing slowing down my progress is my scoliosis. They knew they could never get me completely straight but bless them they did what they could. The home stretches seem to be more for my hips and hamstrings which I also need to work on.We thought we would get 1" out of TS Hannah but now not much at all.
Liz It's always good to see you posting. These steroids are a pack of pills.I started out with 6 yesterday and then it decreases by one each day until the last one on the 6th day.The foot is some better. You have got that right about our numbers.Kenneth and the cats are fine but Scooter is in the doggy hospital overnight. She had a hematoma in the flap of her left ear. They did surgery on her and we will pick her up in the morning.Prayers for your DBIL.I can't imagine the stress you have gone through being at the center of all this.
Kathy I heard about Trump canceling the Jacksonville GOP convention.I'm sure that's a big relief in FL.There is a chance we may get .20" of rain Saturday. It's coming in too far south to help any here.Drats.We really need the rain.Slowly but surely the foot is improving.
I am missing my Scooter buddy tonight but I'm glad her vet was able to see her today. He had a little time for the surgery today and he doesn't work at the office on Friday's.I'm sure after the surgery she is sleeping quite a bit.She sleeps a lot at home too.

Good luck to Scooter.
I stand the cooked ear of corn on end and use a paring knife down the side, turn, repeat....works better than those sharp tools they sell. Cook ahead so you can hold a cool cob!
On phone with my brother...nephew is better and released for work. Brother (66 ) is coughing but thinks it is allergy, however it is worse than usual. Fingers crossed. He tested negative Monday after exposure Friday, but 30% of tests are wrong or given too soon. very anxious and not good at staying home with his thoughts.
allergies have been bad with the winds last two days.
I was dead tired...that woke me up.
Cleaned bathrooms, did laundry, cooked frozen pierogi from a Ukranian place for supper.
trying to sleep early tonight.
