Good morning all. Woke up to overcast sky and more humidity. Slept well and pain free so I'll focus on that! I hope and pray that August brings with it better weather.
We had a horrible storm last night...it came in layers. It would pour and lightening and we heard lots of thunder...then it would stop for a bit and start up again. By the time we went to bed it was all over. Luckily we had those breaks as that's when Carl took miss LuLa in the yard
Today, happy to say that we have NO SHOPPING to do. I'm liking the sounds of that.
Need to sit and plan and then track my day.
Wishing all a happy and OP Thursday. Will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! I don't know where this week went, but here we are already. We had some light rain last evening, because when we went out to sit on the porch, the sidewalk was damp. But it remained humid! We were able to sleep with the windows open and the fan in the window, so that was nice. Today promises to not be quite so HHH and I hope that is true! This morning we DO have noticeable humidity, but low temps, but it is going up to mid-80's later. (Wonder why the weatherman said today would be better?)
My arm is still very sore, and I had the strangest vivid dreams last night!! I blame at least part of that on the shot yesterday. I kept waking up from the dreams and thinking it was much later than it was. I think I will walk this morning, and then just lay low for the rest of the day.
We had our Green Apple salads last evening and they were perfect. No prep and no clean-up! This morning I made poached eggs, and grits for me with toast for DH, alongside a fresh fruit bowl. Tonight's supper will be Strawberry Waffles with turkey sausage patties. Since I don't feel really hungry today, lunch will be light.
Ann ~ Glad you slept well and avoided the storms. Yay to no shopping today!! I think I will stick close to home as well. We'll see ....
BBL. Make a great day!!

Your meals sound great. I have some roast beef so we will have sandwiches tonite with the rest of the potato salad and a cucumber and roma tomato salad. Plenty of FF Greek yogurt and fruit along with hummus for snacking and cherries 😁. Breakfast was a half English muffin with cheese veggie omelet and lunch lo chili.
Sue sorry for your dreams and arm pain. Take it easy today. Will ice help?

Ann ~ I had not thought about ice! Thank you so much!
I am going to ice it while I watch the noon news.

suewms, your welcome. I often bruise very easily and my arms always respond well to ice. In face, I have a bag of frozen peas that I have in the freezer in a zip lock bag labeled Ann's ice pack and use that. It conforms better. Good luck

Ann ~ We still have the double sleeve that DH got when he had his hip replaced 7 years ago along with the soft reusable freezer packs. I filled the sleeve and 'wrapped' it around my shoulder area and it was great! I would love to say it doesn't hurt any more, but that isn't the case; but it is better!!
DH came home because he is waiting for a part to be delivered for a job he is working on, so we got to have lunch together and visit for a bit. Nice mid-day treat for both of us! He's gone back to work now.
I am just lazing around and taking it easy today, and I think tomorrow will be a better day!!

Sue happy that the ice helped some. Hopefully, as you say, tomorrow will be better. ((hugs)) Nice that you and DH got to spend some time together enjoying lunch. The sky turned pitch black and the rains were quite heavy. Now the sun is breaking its way through once again. I am not going to bother to attempt to walk today. Better luck tomorrow. It's the end of my weight watcher week...I've done well with steps so far, so it's all good. I can't sync my Garmin device as I keep getting the same message that the Garmin site is down. Doesn't give an estimate time of when it will be back up again. Hopefully by tomorrow. Oh well...not the end of the world I spent time chatting to my friend Elaine who's DS is going through a horrid divorce! She needed to vent and I lent her my shoulder to lean on. There really aren't any words to say in that type of a situation. One good thing is that their son is not a young child. He's either 21 or 22. Still...it's hard to Elaine to go through this at a time like this..... Going to sit and read a bit now. Waving to Judy and Pam. Sue, thanks for keeping me company

Hi Ann ~ I poked my head back in as I was sitting at my desk organizing some bills and taking care of some other paperwork. I had to put all my 'end of the month' bills on our CU Bill Pay feature. Such an easy way to pay bills!! I just love it!! There are still a handful that I have to actually write out checks for and put stamps on. Someday they will ALL catch up!! Sorry to hear about your friends's DS's divorce. That is horrid at any time, but especially right now! We will pray for her and her family and for peace for them. There seems to be so much discord in our world right now that it is almost frightening. I think it stemmed from the unexpected pandemic, but I wonder if it will ever return to anything we know as normal?? I honestly think the term "the new normal" may have outlived it usefulness. When do we return to grace and good manners and respectability?? Done now.... Also waving to Pam and Judy!! Talk later .....

Sue I am SO tired of hearing that expression 'the new normal'!!!! I want the OLD regular normal back LOL.
Judy and I both posted to the wrong day.....Please go back to read her post and mine under it. It's a common mistake.
I thank you for your prayers.

Good evening!
I was up and out by 7:30 this morning to walk with Debbie, even though I stayed up late watching old movies on TCM. DH and I watched The Shop around the Corner and both enjoyed it. He went to bed and I stayed up playing WWF and watching My Fair Lady. I certainly groaned when the alarm went off at 6:45am.
DH headed to town for a grocery pickup around 11:00. I got a facetime call from Abby who wanted to come "hang out" with us, so I called DH so he could swing by and pick her up. She was SO happy! We played Monopoly and Crazy Eights, took a short walk and she had fun watering plants all over the yard and playing with the cats. We topped it off with a bubble bath with tub toys. She lobbied hard for a sleepover, but after I go to 7:00 Mass tomorrow, DH and I are headed to the camp. DD2 and her BFF, who is like a daughter to us will meet us there. It should be fun and a nice change of scenery for all. We tried not to mention it as Abby LOVES her aunt and would want to come, too.
We desperately need some carpentry work done at the camp on the front porch and the back deck, but are having trouble finding someone to do it. I have asked for recommendations from several folks down there but no hits yet. I am very nervous that hurricane season is upon us and this has not been taken care of. DH is content to let me do the searching. We had hoped to meet with a carpenter while down there this weekend, but that prospect is looking dim.
I had fruit & yogurt for breakfast, leftover ribs and sausage for lunch and baked pork chops, sweet potato, beets and sauteed cabbage for dinner. My weight is holding steady in an almost uncanny manner--the same day after day. Too bad I'm nowhere near goal!
Sue - My arm was quite sore after both shingles vaccines and I felt a little off for a day or so, but nothing unbearable. I did find an ice pack helped with the soreness. I just kept telling myself it was better than shingles.
Judy - I watched a video on fb today of a 6 year old playing Elvis' "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" on the ukulele and singing and thought of you. I hope you got to have book club tonight. Maybe you could try taking a benedryl dose a little before bedtime. It tends to make you sleepy, but is not habit-forming.
Ann - Sorry about your friend! It is so difficult when someone hurts your child, even if they are all grown up. A mother's protective instincts are very strong. I hope you enjoyed your "shopping free" day. Garmin certainly has been messed up today. I'm wondering if they got hacked, because the official notice they put out said maintenance from 10:00 AM for 4 hours, yet the system was already down at 6:50 when I tried to enter my weight and when they finally put up the notice, they had already been down for more than 2 hours. And they are still down. At least it is still counting steps!
Time to get jammified and read or watch a little tv before bedtime. DH is snoozing in his chair, so I'm thinking he'll be headed to bed shortly. He didn't sleep well last night.
