Liz, good to hear from you. Good luck to DBIL with his surgery. I am glad DSIL has hope in the face of the situation. I will send up some prayers as well. That wascally Wally is at it again, huh? I bet Gary looks forward to his weekly golf game and I am sure you look forward to putting your feet up and cuddling with the pups. How is DSM adjusting to her new circumstances? The allergies are bad for everyone this year. The mask mandate is good but I have seen people still without masks.
Linda, I hope you slept better. I understand Bob’s anxiety completely. Glad you could exchange the dog food for something Micki can have. Good news on nephew recovering. Crossing fingers with you that DB’s cough is allergy related and that he can calm his mind. You did a lot fir someone who is working on so little sleep and so much anxiety.
Becky, I hope Scooter is doing well today after her surgery. The steroids did give me a headache the first day. I hope yours we t away with the second day. Glad to near the foot is a little better and hope you continue your good progress with the knee a d hips. The node is still in my eye. I go back to doctor on Tuesday.
Kathy, the ice cream sounds delicious. I love salted caramel. My fear is that the young folks and minorities won’t vote in November and we will be in for four more years of storm troopers, cronyism and the further erosion of our democracy and laws protecting people and the environment. We have plenty of TP and paper towels. Disinfectant wipes and cleaners are scarce but can be found. The problem is you have to look around.
Denise, I wish we could have fresh flowers in the house. They brighten a room up. I occasionally buy some at Kroger but my allergies go wild 😜. Iggy loves them, though.
Karen, have you named Rocky’s GF yet? Perhaps Natasha? The mask mandate is good. I don’t think DeWine is going to go for a second shutdown. He got roasted by his fellow Republicans in the state house. Happy Belated Birthday to Dale. I hope he enjoyed his day. Iggy has been puttering in the garage the last couple of rainy days. He made a handle for the back gate, so I could close it more easily. Earlier in the week he fixed the back gate because it had been dragging on the ground. He also supervised the repair work on the soffits. We got our first full sized ripe tomato yesterday. I am sure we will cut into it today. I picked some of the beans and just steamed them for a minute in the microwave. They don’t have a lot of flavor which is a disappointment. We have had some much needed rain the past couple of days and the temps were lower but we will be back in the mid 90s this weekend.
Everyone, have a good Friday.

Thanks for the start, Chele. How was the tomato? Too bad the beans didn't have more flavor. Maybe the next bunch will be better. I'll be interested to see what the doc says on Tuesday, given that Nigel still exists. I still see people here without masks, despite the mandate, and they don't look like they all have breathing issues that would preclude wearing a mask. I don't think a second shutdown is being seriously considered in too many places and I think it would cause a lot of backlash if someone tried it. So we're on our own. It appears that the stores are supposed to enforce and they don't want to chase away customers. Rocky's GF is Rockette and she was back again this morning. She is definitely persistent. We know how they are accessing the deck and would just need to figure out a way to make that less accessible. Liz, glad you checked in. You know well the insanity of opening a new building because it's not your first rodeo. Do you have anything big planned for the opening? Will you be able to take some time off after next week or is the next scheduled time off for dental surgery? Not good on coyotes moving into the neighborhood. Wally could handle himself, but I would worry about Zoe. The bunnies better watch out, but I think you would have been ok without the one that crossed your path in the middle of the night. I guess Wally continues to have to go out at night. Sorry! I hope Zoe doesn't have an issue forming with her drinking and urination both increasing. Didn't they evaluate her for Cushings a couple of years ago? I hope DBIL's surgery goes well. It sounds like he couldn't be in better hands. It's good that you were able to swap out the case of food for something else, Linda. Some places won't accept returns. Does Micki like the Greenies? Good that he can have a "treat", even though we know it's good for him. I hate when they change the grocery stores around. Strange about no toilet bowl cleaner. I stopped at Dollar General yesterday and a lot of the cleaning supply aisle was empty (didn't check for toilet cleaner though), which was a bit unusual. Wonder what's going on. How did last night go? Did you get to bed early and were you able to go back to sleep after the a.m. shot? Becky, is Scooter home? Do they know what caused the hematoma? I didn't realize she would have to stay over night. Phoebe usually came home after surgeries. In fact, one time we got a call after dark to come get her because she was disrupting the ICU. I think it was after her liver surgery, so I was really nervous about having her home when she really needed to stay another night. If we didn't pick her up, they were going to heavily sedate her so she came home. Did your new bike get delivered? Maybe Hanna will head a bit farther north and you'll get a little rain from it. I don't think we'll get much from it either. Maybe we'll both get something from Gonzalo. Do the steroids seem to be helping yet? Abbott should let some of the counties in the RGV do shelter in place orders because they are really getting hit there. Yay on no RNC in JAX, Kathy. I know that's a relief. It sounded like the sheriff was going to say no way, so I wonder if that played into the decision. I can't believe they are going back to Charlotte now after the way they acted. I told Dale if I was Gov. Cooper, I would tell them to take a hike. I don't think this country will survive 4 more years of what we have. How is covid doing in your zip code? Does UCF have in person classes scheduled for fall? UT estimates about 30% of students will have in person classes and a lot of those are in disciplines like nursing and vet where they are limited to what they can do online. Denise are you working this weekend? I swam in light rain this morning and was about 15 ft. from a young heron that apparently didn't think I was a threat. Then as I got close to the house, I saw 4 turkeys in the front yard. I got pretty close to one before it flew off. I had to cook both beef and turkey for Arya, so I was a bit busy. We have a cloudy day and are expecting more showers. We did get a pretty good t-storm after I posted yesterday and also got some rain last night. It wasn't much, but at least we didn't have to water last night or this morning. We have had texts and emails from the RE agent and things seem to be moving along for a Monday close. Dale just realized that the realtor fees come out of the proceeds of the sale so he's not real happy about that. I'm just glad to be getting rid of that extra headache. Speaking of headaches, Garmin got hit with ransomware yesterday and my watches work but nothing syncs. I have to remember to change my PW when they are back just in case. Why can't people use their powers for good instead of evil? 🤬 New avatar is the 18" long Striped Cucumber (burpless!!) that I picked this morning. It's so large that I only ate about 1/3 of it for lunch. Very tasty!

Chele, just a little over 3 months until the election. I fear Trump will be completely out of control with four more years. He won't be worrying about getting reelected or impeached, so what's to stop him. I also worry about him further sabotaging healthcare. I just finished another grocery order for my mom, so that took up this afternoon. They had most of the order in stock with just a few minor substitutions. I haven't seen wipes available anywhere, but I still have a couple of canisters left. I also gave one to my sister and one to my mom, so they owe me! Karen, I saw where the officials in Jax weren't supporting the convention, so I think that did affect the decision. I also saw that a lot of the Republicans didn't want to attend and they were probably afraid of having empty seats. I think UCF is doing something similar to UT. Most of DN's classes were already available online, at least for the lectures. I'm not sure what they'll do with tests though as they did require those to be in person. Maybe just really spread them out and require masks. The cuke looks good and nice that it's burpless. 🥒 Yay on closing on Monday! I think the RE fees came out of the proceeds when I sold my last house too. Of course, I managed to sell right before prices started zooming up!
We got more rain last night and it's been sprinkling again today. Looks like more of the same for the next week. The lack of sun is keeping highs in the low 90s.
Becky, hope Scooter is doing well after the surgery. Hope everyone has a nice Friday evening!

Thanks for the start Chele.Scooter was hurting on the ride home but very happy to see me and when she first would try to lay on her ear on the floor once home she would whine like it hurt but now she seems to be fine laying on it on the floor. She has a big bandage across her ear and head except for the unaffected ear.She did have a cone when they brought her out to the car but while the tech was talking to me about her meds part of it came off.It seemed to bother her so much on the way home and it was only locked into 3 places halfway home I took it off.Surprisingly she hasn't pawed at it so far.The bandage needs to stay on 3 days or as long as it will stay on the vet said. She looks so pitiful with that bandage and only one ear sticking out but she climbed up on my recliner with me and got her mama to rub her tummy so she was happy. The foot did feel better yesterday but it's hurting a little more today. The knee is tighter also and I think that's from the old bike.I'm sorry the node is still in your eye.I hope the eye dr can give you something to help with that.
Karen I'm surprised that at both HEB and WM all people seem to be wearing masks. They aren't always covering their noses but at least they are making an attempt to wear them.Even despite that our county numbers keep getting higher. From what I read online a hematoma comes from a trauma that could even be from shaking their ears too hard and she did do that.At first we thought it was a bite which is why we didn't take her sooner. She is home and has already chased a cat but is mostly laying around on the floor or on Kenneth's recliner. The vet knew it would take us longer to come back to get her because he knows where we live as he has treated some of our cattle before.I think he wanted to make sure everything was okay before he let her out.I saw on the receipt they gave her Valium and something else to knock her out before surgery. She has a small shaved place on her leg where they put the needle in.They sent her home with Prednisone and an antibiotic.I told her now we are both on the same pill...Prednisone.Hanna is supposed to become a hurricane before it hits Corpus Christi now.My foot felt better yesterday than today. He did say it would only feel 50% better after this round of steroids.

tired of FB trolls yapping about teacher cowards when they just want babysitters. The latest was based on some LA article..so now teachers are all leftists who hate America. My last years I got To work when the 9-5 folks were getting up and once there had to worry about protecting 30 minors from gun assault, drug crazed students, fights, gangs, drunken parents and had my life threatened and no raise for five years-and dragged hours of work home every night. rant done...thx.
Micki had new glucose test...126! Nice down from 506. I just realized I may have to do home testing and no in person demo. 😩😩😩😩😩
Liz...good luck to DBIL. Becky..hoping all well with Scooter.
I got four small cukes this year...we shall see if it lives to cooler weather.
Kind of worried about the executive orders to reduce drug costs...requiring a Medicare to only pay what they pay outside the country may cause us a lot of expense insurance will nit pay. Saw nothing about quality control on out of country imports.
not much dine today, but I did sleep...right through leaf blowers, headgear trimmers and lawn mowers!

Linda I'm glad Micki is doing better.Scooter sleeps a lot but she has already chased one of the cats so she can still run a little. She just looks so pitiful with the big bandage around her head. She has been duly spoiled today though and only goes outside when it's time to do her business.
