Stayed up when I got up at 5:10. I slept so late yesterday that last night I was wide awake until 12:30!
City has no come to pick up stuff on curb, so I went out and cut back neighbor's shrubs hanging over part of the 6 foot wall.lugged it out to street. They have three kinds they let grow high. Two have poisonous berries Micki might eat: lantana and a kind of nightshade. That was a job even though only 20 minutes ... humidity was high with 96 degrees. It wiped me out, and I am somewhat conditioned to heat.
Took a shower and dusted the big bedroom which DH is now vacuuming. Dinner will be Asian take out .
Had this Saturday...good, very filling and easy with TJ's cooked lentils...it tells you how to flavor them. And you will nit have “irregularity” the next day!

Thanks for the start and the election reminder, Chele. I'm afraid it's going to be a long and nasty 99 days. I'm already tired of the political commercials. I'm not sure we have any good options, which is one of the problems on the local, state, and national levels. Yes, it's a Monday. More on that later. How was the menu at Bistro de Iggy? Good luck at the eye doc tomorrow. I hoe you get some good news and it's just going to be a slow healing process. Linda, LOL on the Coronacoaster. With the other things that we all have going on, it makes things even more complicated, and sometimes it feels like there are more downs than ups. I've had those times when I get up late and can't sleep that night. Hate it. I hope things go better tonight. Twenty minutes of work in that heat is a lot and I'm not surprised you are wiped out. Take the rest of the day off. Takeout is a good plan for dinner. The house hassle continues. We hadn't received any paperwork and figured we would get it electronically. Dale got a call from the RE guy about noon that the attorney's office forgot to send the paperwork, so they emailed it to us and Dale printed it out. We were going to go to the CU together to have the paperwork notarized then overnight it from the local FedEx office. In the meantime, the tree company the local electric coop hires to keep the trees cut back from the power lines showed up and needed to access our property. While they were trying to get their huge truck closer to where they needed to cut down the trees, they took a chunk out of our asphalt driveway. So I went to the CU to sign and Dale has now gone to finish up the process and go to FedEx. The tree company left while I was gone and we have no clue when someone is coming to fix our driveway. We had to leave the gate open for the tree company and now one side of the gate won't close, so Dale will have to work on that when he comes home. Nothing has gone smoothly since the day we bought that house. Why should it now??? I just hope he gets this finished up and home to get the gate fixed before it rains because the skies are clouding up. If the power goes out, we won't be able to fix the gate because it's not on the generator. I did swim this morning and we have clean bathrooms, clean towels and clean throw rugs. Waving to the rest of the crew.

Linda, you are just cooking up a storm. I wouldn’t have wanted to do yard work in that heat.
Karen, yikes! What a day! So you’ve had problems with the NC house for how many years? Was Dale able to fix the gate before the rains came? Today Chef Iggy fixed gumbo for lunch and Caprese salad for dinner. Something nice and light. I did not have the gumbo. I had minestrone. From a can. ☹️ I hope the doc has some answers for me tomorrow.
We are having intermittent storms right now and are getting some much needed rain.
Waving to the gang.

Chele, thanks for the start and the joke. Too true! So, you didn't do what I do with gumbo which is to pick out the sausage? Good luck with the eye doctor tomorrow. It's been raining here too, but didn't start until this evening. Karen, love the photo of your harvest. Wow on the hassles with the house and driveway. You guys definitely had a Monday, retired or not. Hope it is over now and that they fix your driveway soon. Linda, I plan on sending my ballot in early. Are they saying 14 days due to the volume they expect or because of post office delays?

i think both reasons on mail.
fall on face tired from yard work in humid heat and staying up from 5:30 on in hope if getting to sleep tonight.
supposed to have Asian food but they do not answer phone..sigh. so pizza place delivering sandwiches.
almost managed a nap in chair today, but just at edge if sleep woke. phooey.
DH saw eye dr...new glasses.still some adjustments from cataract surgery last fall. so Costco tomorrow, which means Micki and we get their chicken! have lots and lots of TP,but always get one more when we go while plentiful. we are not in a position to go from store to store hunting and have nobody to offer to do it for us despite six adult relatives within 30 min. drive. one had covid and is back to work, his wife is sick, and my brother us still coughing but not worse.
i have seen truly awful predictiond of shortages down the road in many things due to infected workers, plants closing, crop pickers too sick, companies bankrupt,,another depression...and the real beauty...civil war or Trump militias gone rogue when he loses. hoping it is just nerves, but stocking up.
today I was going to inventory and write expiration dates on canned stuff and move a bunch to shelves in spare room closet. pantry is a mess. kitchen cabinet is impossible to find anything.do not even know what we have. too tired.
have a good evening.

Thanks for the start Chele.Good luck with your dr appointment tomorrow.
Karen Dang it.When it rains it pours.2020 is the gift that keeps on giving.
Linda Is there any part of the day that's a little shady for you to work in the yard.I get sick working outside if it's too hot and humid. That is a shame nobody will offer to shop for you and Bob especially living that close to you.Would you consider delivery from one of the stores?

Before masks did a lot of delivery from amazon and Costco. Local stores were useless here.
i do work in the shade in morning! But humidity plus 96 degrees is just nasty. I was a bit late today. By late afternoon it was a humid 106...5 minutesIn shade encouraging dog to just pick a spot and go left me dripping.I really hate summer. 9:30 and down to 100.
