Good morning all. slept well and grateful. Going to be another day with a heat index warning. I am SO over this summer!!!!!
Sue great that DH went and picked up fresh produce. Like you, we are also all set.
Pam just HATE when a book poofs away. I have another library one downloaded that I will probably not get to. What I TRY to do is check the due date before I read it...if I can extend the book I do...if not I'll simply return it.
Judy hope you and DH are well.
Need to do a few things online and then sit and have coffee and play my day.

Hi all,
Ann, thanks for getting the ball rolling. Yes, another very hot day. The heat really takes it out of us these days. I was so annoyed that the book poofed away. I try to delay receiving them, too, but lost track of days and that is how it often seems to go these days!
I had a very dedicated week eating well and am a bit bummed that the scale is the same. I am attributing it to the heat, water retention, etc. I'll double down my water today because I am often not drinking enough. Onward!
One of the carpenters I was hoping to hear from said he wants to do the job of repairing some old cedar boards on the deck. I'd love a whole new deck, but right now since we aren't sure we'll be moving yet, we are settling on a good repair if that is enough. We think about at least a dozen boards need replacement. It's basically sturdy. Pam, you and I are doing the same thing with deck and we also need a new fence. I'm also glad you had fun with DD and her friend. Scary driving with all the rain and "ponding" on the streets as they call it. The Mexican Dominoes sounds like fun. I love board games but I have never played Dominoes.
I wrote a novella to all of you last night so no big news to report today. DH just called and he's tired. Said he was up off and on all night. I was out like a light so never heard him. Poor guy.
Have a great day everyone!

Happy to say that I am all planned and tracked for the day. I will be spending it indoors as no way can I tolerate the heat. Carl walked LuLa earlier this morning and he is also one and done. He will take her in the yard to do her thing. Good luck with the repairing of the board on your deck. Most definitely the blip in the scale is due to this lovely heat and humidity. Extra water will help with that, Judy. Don't get discouraged. A maintain is better than a gain I've done laundry, shower is done day is planned and tracked and now I'm going to sit and read a bit of Shelter In Place. Waving to Pam and Sue just in case I don't make it back online.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! We also are struggling with the heat. It only got down in the 70's overnight and was already hot and muggy this morning. The weather says it is 82 but feels like 86 and going up to 89 before the day is done. I doubt I will be out walking!?!
I slept very well indeed, and woke early (about 6:30). I do enjoy my coffee in the early morning hours when everything is quiet (even though it stays pretty quiet around here most of the time). We did manage to sit outdoors for about 45 minutes last evening. The sun was just getting ready to set and there is one tall deciduous tree that 'lights up" like a Christmas tree when the sun gets right behind it. It only lasts for about 7-8 minutes, so we were lucky enough to catch it last night. One of Life's little pleasures!! {{sigh}} I had my yogurt 'n berries with Fiber One for breakfast and plan a light lunch. I am doing the Country Style Ribs in the IP this afternoon as well as making a broccoli/grape tomato/Ranch salad to go with.
Ann ~ So happy to hear that you are sleeping well. I think you are so wise to avoid the HHH. I am trying to do the same thing. We DO have a cool-down (though not MUCH) this week at least cooling off at night.
Judy ~ Wow! You were really busy this weekend. You are right, though, that we are doing only *some* of the things we used to do along with working and yet it seems exhausting. I think those months that I sat at home changed my energy settings. I did get a lot done last Friday, then R&R over the weekend. Hang in there with the heat wave! We have another scorcher today.
Pam ~ So glad to hear that you had an enjoyable time at Camp! I can imagine the girls’ distress over the flooded roadway as I fear I would react the same way. Glad you made the best of it and had a good time. Your Mexican dinner sounded like loads of fun – and YUM!! Madison’s at-home-school sounds like it will be very workable for her! What grade is she?
My Cuisinart coffee maker is dying and I am shopping online for a replacement. This is about the third one I've had of exactly the same model - but this one has only lasted 5 years. I guess that is pretty good considering we use it every day. But the last one also developed a "leak" where I got up in the morning and found a puddle of clear water on the counter, and a couple of cups missing from the carafe. Now this one is doing exactly the same thing. I thought (and DH confirmed) it is probably the hose that takes the water from the reservoir and deposits it in the coffee filer basket (otherwise it wouldn't be clear).
Anyway, I thought it would be so easy to order a replacement coffee maker, and was even prepared to go to Bed Bath & Beyond (where I've found them in the past) but online it says that they are out of stock. Now I'm shopping for a different make, as the reviews are leaving much to be desired. I don't have to make a decision right this minute, so I will take some time and think about it. I can shop later in the week, or order it and have it delivered. Does anyone have a favorite brand?? I am currently leaning toward a Ninja 12-cup maker with a removable water reservoir plus all the features I have currently.
I am a bit tired-feeling today for some reason. I have already gone outside and dead-headed and pruned my petunia pots that were getting scraggly before it got too hot to be out there. I may not do much else today, but we'll see. I never did get back to my book this weekend, so maybe that is in my future.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Judy ~ We are still awaiting the final word regarding our schools this Fall. I did see a lengthy post on FB but it only involved K-12, so not my building. Our principal sent out an email last Friday that the Early Childhood plan is in the works and has been submitted to the MDE and she should hear back this week. She also mentioned a Zoom meeting the 28th and finalization on the 30th. I expect we will hear from her on Friday (which is the day she usually sends us an update). I talked to my DH over the weekend about the possibility of me going back to school, as I'm sure I will be asked. He said (1) it was strictly up to me, but (2) he knows how much I love my job and the social interaction with my teachers (we've all be texting all Summer) and (3) he knows firsthand how much I enjoy the kids by the stories I bring home and share. So all in all, he concluded it would be in my best interest to go back and just utilize good practices. But we'll see if we even have classes? and if I am invited back? So much is up in the air.

Sue our weather cools down enough at night with the ceiling fan so that Carl and I can enjoy sitting in the screen room. For that I'm grateful! Other than that...I'm LONGING for fall and winter! We have a very inexpensive coffee maker that we picked up at Ocean State Job Lot. Name is Proctor Silex and it was under 20.00 with the senior discount. We had several Cuisinart pots and never had luck with them. Also a few Keruig's. This one has none of the bells and whistles but works for us. It IS made in China...not sure if you have issues with that or not. We've had this one for about 5 years and still running strong I'm sure you will make the right decision to go back should it open up for you. Sue I'm also tired. Not quite as bad as yesterday, but enough to know that I shall not do anything else that requires a lot of 'work' Will try to pop back later.....

Ann ~ I don't know what it is with this 'tiredness' but it is getting old! Nonetheless, I did cook some eggs in the IP and put them in to chill, and got the pot ready for ribs tonight. The ribs are seasoned and sitting with Famous Dave's BBQ Rub on them, and I mixed some beef boullion to cook them with. I also made the broccoli/grape tomato/feta/Ranch salad and it is chilling in the fridge. That's it for supper.
Thanks for the info on coffee makers. I had seen Proctor-Silex in my online search. My Cuisinarts have all lasted about five years or more (which exceeds the 3 year warranty). I especially like the timed feature, as we set up our coffee at night and then it is all ready when we wake up. Spoiled, I know, but one of Life's little pleasures. Anyway, I did some more looking around and found a Cuisinart at Kohl's in my price range with 20% off and free shipping. So I ordered it and we'll see. If it doesn't work out, returns are so easy at Kohl's - unlike some mail order houses.
I got my delivery of new masks from Yoga Society today and I have already washed them in Woolite and rinsed and they are hanging to dry on a hanger. There are four of them, so I will give DH a choice if he is interested in any of them when he gets home. I washed all of his over the weekend, so his 'box' is full. I did get a short walk, when I got the text that my package had been delivered to my mailbox, I walked up to the mailboxes (DH usually picks up the mail) and got it. That was about it, as it is HOT!
Judy ~ I meant to tell you - do not be concerned about the maintaining! Remember that you lost 5 lb!! last week. Whenever I have had a substantial loss, it is always followed with at best a maintain - and at worst a small gain. The human body just seems to work that way. It would be nice if we could lose week after week, but that is only on paper, seldom in real life. Your body is still adjusting to the 5 lb loss and hanging onto what's left (for the moment) in case you're going to starve it to death <LOL> Be pleased that you got to keep the entire 5 lb loss!!
I think I will seriously go read my book a bit now. I haven't picked it up in days, but I don't want to have to start over (again!). Perhaps the rest will do me good??
Talk later .....

Happy Monday all!
I woke to a very rainy day with flash flood warnings, so no walk. That and the 3 lbs. gain on the scale (since Friday!!!) depressed me and I fed that depression with a leftover cinnamon twist and a morning in the lazyboy doing nothing. I know, I know, it makes no sense and will not change anything for the better. I hereby pledge to get off my b*tt and get busy.
I watched a documentary last evening on Indian arranged marriages. It was very interesting, but I am so glad not to live in that culture. A woman basically marries someone picked by her parents, usually with her approval, that she barely knows and moves with him to his family home and rarely gets to visit her parents again. It's called A Suitable Girl and is on Prime.
I am 64% through my current audio book The Silent Patient and it gets repossessed in 1 day. I have placed a new hold just in case I don't get finished, but will have to wait.
Abby called and begged for a sleepover, so my evening is booked.
Sue-I only buy cheap coffeemakers now, because I have never had one last more than a few years. Either the timer breaks or they start leaking.
Waving at Ann and Judy!

Pam aww to Abby wanting a sleep over Enjoy your booked evening. I'm with you on the el cheapo coffee makers and for the same reason. Tired of spending good $$$ for shoddy pots. I worked with a Greek gal that had an 'arranged marriage' For her it worked out. Her sister, on the other hand ran away and eloped. So sad when that happens...but it's their culture I guess. I hear you on the mindset. Rain gain sometimes is equal to just giving in. Good that you decided to get off your tush I'm sure you'll feel better house walking. It's still far to hot to even THINK of going outdoors. I went in the back yard with miss LuLa and that was about it. Never so happy to see her P LOL.
