I'm IN.
ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅ππ΅π
Today we are at home. Yesterday we slogged through the entire Assisted Living Entrance Packet, 30 pages of mud, to mark the places where DBigBro must sign. We notice that there seems to be a discrepancy between the "package" he's been assigned and the day-to-day needs that he has. If he's in Plan A, which is how we're reading it, there is no prep of his daily meds nor monitoring of his taking them. THAT is a big deal, so it goes on the Red Flag Monday Morning Phone Calls / E-mails List. Today there'll be a review of the Transition Into Continuing Care guidebook, 24 more pages; a brief scan indicates that it will be a minefield as we continue to prep for The Move. They have rules; he doesn't need no stinkin' rules.
Oh, HOW we are hoping that NASCAR Cup series is running today...
Coffee... βββ... breakfast...

This is an open daily check in thread to help keep our heads in the game. There are no rules, just hop on in and say hi. If you are new to our site or have been just been lurking, feel free to introduce yourself!

Good morning all. Yesterday, my family (DD, her DH and the 2 grands) and my DH and myself went Go-Karting. I wanted to do something different for my upcoming birthday. We went to a new facility in our area: the Andretti Indoor Racing and Games. They have lots to do here: arcade games, laser tag, mini golf, virtual reality games and go karts. I remember driving go karts when I was in college (you know, a million years ago!) on outdoor tracks with old tires marking the path but this was high tech stuff. They had electric cars and we all wore big helmets. Of course, everyone was also wearing masks. We had a blast! We caught on quickly and figured out how fast you could go and we were all zipping around the course. It was a lot of fun and we'd like to return again. Today, the skies are clear and we're hoping the roofers are able to finish the last section of the roof. We had so much rain yesterday morning so they weren't able to finish. diva49, there is NASCAR today which should be a good distraction for you and Toots. I hope you get your questions answered for DBIL and his new AL home. Have a blessed day, y'all!

diva49, I'm glad you get a break from the assisted living set up preparations. My sister had to handle that a long while back, and is the main contact person for my dad's facility. The weather looks gloomy today. Hopefully it will brighten up a little later on. I'm looking forward to a few hours at home to myself. My husband is helping a friend with a leaky pipe at his house, plus they have some other things to talk about.

Linda Iβm surprised those kinds of places are open these days!
Today I think weβre going to walk somewhere outdoors. Iβd like to be outside and although I love my backyard I need a change of scenery.

finreporter , they had many things in place to make us feel safer. 6' distancing, hand sanitizers everywhere, masks required, no food available in the restaurant. Employees were sanitizing the cars and helmets as soon as we got out. They were also sanitizing the arcade games. We felt very safe. It's been open 3-4 weeks.

I'm in. I had a really nice visit with one of my besties earlier today. It's been so long!! We sat outside and enjoyed a Pellegrino and great conversation (masked and distanced). I really needed that. It's been a hot one today. We just finished watching the Crew Dragon splashdown and recovery - so cool and much needed win for the U.S. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sunday. cyndee, hope you enjoy your down time! linda72, sounds like your family had a great time. Fingers crossed for the roof work! finreporter, hope you and the girls enjoy your walk. So good to change it up. I have to try and do that myself. *waves to all and Nascar for diva49,*

Iβm definitely trying to think of different outdoor walks for us. One day this week Iβm taking one kid and weβll go walk around melrose area. Another day Iβll take the other kid and go to some other part of LA like silverlake or our old neighborhood in Santa Monica.
