Whatever you do today - whatever happens... I hope you can find the satisfaction in yourself and your day A Happy Sunday ladies ~ Good morning ☼ I know that today will be a(nother) challenge for me... but I hope to make some choices that will make it a satisfying day for me - even if it's not the perfect day I always plan on!
Changed the plan for today (again) and ended up throwing a pork butt in the crock pot last night... easiest lunch ever!! Pulled pork, (bagged) cole slaw, beans, chips... I am sure my sister will arrive with SOMETHING to "add" to the day - but for me it is this easy - this simple - it is what it is! I will stay away from the roll, just have some pork - yes there is sugar in it, due to the BBQ Sauce.
Not sure what the day will bring - looking for rain storms this afternoon - so it may be a short day, but that's OK too! I didn't get my prep for the work week done yesterday - just ran out of time!
OK Internet is kind of wonky this morning - not sure if I can catch up or not!

Good morning!
And a Satisfying Sunday it is! Thanks for starting us off today Carole with some self-loving thoughts!
The run yesterday was really something--a small group of us made a wrong turn which added on some distance--we were always close to a road, etc. but really wanted to follow the assigned course. I ran a LOT further than expected and my legs were tired, but it was a good day. Today I have my WW Zoom, grocery shopping (which is key this week if I want to launch by BLE), some work-work, and a mani/pedi (scheduled it when I got home yesterday and thought about how great it would feel on my sore legs). So, a full day but a good one.
Carole: I was thinking that your day yesterday sounded nice with Eden and Zoe...did they get to do their evening swim? When I was a kid, we LOVED swimming in the evening. I hope that your storms hold off until later tonight. It sounds like you are ready for whatever. Loved reading about your visit with Nancy, how good she is feeling.....I really hope that we can all get together again sooner rather than later. I found some links to BLE on Pinterest and started a Board -- I shared it with you. I always do better if I see I have choices and, initially, have recipes to follow until I find some "go to's". I hope that you have a good day--your pork sounds good and leaving out the roll is a great idea--the flavor of the pork is the best part anyway!
Christine: Yay for a call with Nancy! A nice treat--she's good about doing that every now and then too. I remember that our Jo did Noom....glad that Nancy found something that is working for her. Being the person taking care of everyone else is a tough job--hard to look out for your own well-being. How did the dinner go at Linds' restaurant? I would think that DH would be so happy about that! I do find with COVID that celebrations are taking a back seat and I find that pretty sad...I love that you really put the effort into figuring it out. Thank goodness he didn't want new shoes for his birthday though--we remember how tough that one was. So Linds is in the "in between" right now with her career, etc. A tough place for our kids who are ready to "do life"....so glad that she can live at home with you and figure it out. I can sympathize with the crowded room full of furniture. This week DS20 is supposed to move out his stuff--THANK GOODNESS---I need to clean that room! Hope that you have a good day!

Sue: So the corn is all finished? Yay! And you still have 10 fingers! That sounds like a lot of work... Thanks for posting the map showing the percentages of COVID-- I find that to be much more informative. To be focused on the pure numbers makes no sense to me. I mean, 5000 cases in OK is a TOTALLY different thing that 5000 cases in CA. Any big plans for today? I am doing my usual Sunday "thing" and watching the Pioneer Woman. I love just watching, enjoying see her cook. Her foods are usually pretty much high fat, etc. but you can still get ideas and I like watching I shared the BLE Pinterest Board with you too....just in case. Hope to check in later and see how your day is going.
Christine: Shared the BLE board with you on Pinterest too! Hope that Linds finds what works for her life right now...sounds like WW might be the better option?
Jo: How are you doing today?
Jenny: How are you? Did you get into the GI doctor? Thinking about you!
Shelly: Hope that you had a nice family dinner and some time off today!
Lisa: Hope that you and the family are doing well.
Okay, signing off to get a shower in and the fridge organized as well-- this will help me with my list. I love roasted veggies and have never roasted them to have them on hand for the week---always do it "on the spot". I might give that a try. Sorry Sue--I love roasted beets so will, for sure, have those. I will try to check in later!

Christine ~ OK I too plan on tracking (as much as I ever do) while cutting the sugar/flour/carbs... even not 100% I do remember noticing differences in 2018! LOL Yeah, I am guessing Susan can't call it "keto" flu, as then she'd have to acknowledge the Keto Diet Plan! I get it - and wonder, if I never noticed that "Feeling" due to I enjoy my salt! LOL In moderation - but a fresh cut cucumber, with a little salt is GREAT! I love it that way - with or without vinegar... also like to S&P my HB Egg, interesting that SALT can counteract the no sugar! You are doing awesome - whatever it is... hoping you passed over that phase as you said - you were prepared and were able to work through it?
We need to find time today to get my produce chopped and jars prepared... will need more fresh stuff by Tuesday to prep for the rest of the week! NEVER.ENDING.CHOPPING.! I will try to get the squash/zucchini/green beans done this morning - before people arrive! We'll see if I do or not! LOL
Here we are hoping the storms don't adversely affect the splash down of Endeavor! We watched the UN-Docking yesterday. Whew, probably a good idea for DB NOT to be traveling this weekend!
Oh dear... guess we know what Linds will be doing this week! Nice of her sister to "help"! LOL Good luck with all that. Ahhh, yes, scattered eating times, and grabbing on the go - are NOT easy on BLE. Sorry she is kind of disappointed - but hey the nights she IS home she can certainly have the chance to eat more veggies than carbs! Good luck to her and you as she finds her way. YAY for her schedule and activity and not much snacking time to be giving her a jump start!
Sue: Good for you - getting the massage AND scheduling the next - no matter what! Oh YAY - glad the corn detail is over for another year! OH Sue - up here corn is $7.00+ for a dozen ears! Depending where you get it! Yes Sue - I do eat a good amount of veggies, like I said I have not weighed them in a while... so it will be interesting when I make my jars again just how much they DO weigh! Friday I took leftover chicken and veggies~ it was a good sized portion, but 4 oz chicken and it only added up to 4 oz of cooked squash/zucchini! I hope to get a better handle on just how much I am eating and how much more BLE recommends, as I get further into the plan.
I don't think Kaitlin's vacation "counts" since she is not the one leaving the state?? Doesn't make much sense does it??

Good morning Gabrielle ~ Sorry you took a wrong turn - adding to your distance... but YAY you did it! LOL Glad you were not truly "lost" at any time! Yikes, yes does sound like a long day ahead, but some good things mixed in with things you NEED to do. YAY for shopping and getting ready to launch the BLE program.
Yes, both girls were here, and yes they did swim in the evening - not "nighttime" (this Gramma gets too tired to keep them up that late) after swimming we let them use the hot tub for a bit too. Then a couple nighttime shows and we were all in bed by 10 PM! They are up now - one meltdown already (Zoë) which is highly unusual! I think there is something else going on with her right now. Last night at bedtime she was crying and wanted to go home - she has NEVER done that before! I talked her through it - she fell asleep, but woke up kind of clingy and whiny, so wonder if there is something else on her mind?
Oh nice... thanks for sharing BLE ideas on Pintrest!
I did Noom for a while too - but just another program that didn't click with me! I am thrilled for Nancy that she is enjoying it - and it truly is a good fit for her.
OK Weather is looking more and more "iffy" as I sit here... and I just heard "chance" of tornadoes (South of us) today... so best get some things done in here! Might CBL... Not at all sure how this day will go! ♥hugs♥

Hello everyone
I haven't had the chance to get on and visit, I've been in a different location all week. I have to work tommorrow cause I'm taking Tuesday off for my GI appointment. Were finally getting our floors replaced with vinyl planking and so I need go pick that out and make an appointment to get that done. We are going to the in-laws today and do the BBQ fish dinner, I didn't get to the beach to get the Oysters but I found some at a local store here in town so we will go over there for the afternoon, at least it's a healthy dinner. They have a nice shady place to sit at so we can still stay outside 6 ft apart. They say it's going to rain tomorrow, maybe, I would love a little rain after the last 2 weeks, it's been in the high 90' s and 100's for many day's now. It's to hot to do anything when it get that hot.
Sorry to keep this so short but just wanted to check in and say Hi. I've got to get the potatos boiling for potato salad for today. I hope everyone has a great day today.
Jenny

Morning all....had a nice breakfast of 2 scratch buttermilk pancakes plus coffee and some fruit....nothing planned for the day except another giant batch of Squash Surprise for meals this week and to put in the freezer for winter. Got a load of laundry to do but otherwise....just a quiet day for me!!
When I was surfing FB this morning I saw an add for Yoga Burn and bit the bullet and ordered the 12 week challenge program. It was only $37 and figured since I cancelled my PF membership for now these 15 minute total body yoga workouts would be something low impact, toning, strengthening that I can manage to do 3 days/week....while not expecting the "girlish" figure of days gone by, I do need something and yoga is a start. I should have it in a week or so....will keep you posted!!
Need to head back to yesterday to catch up....
Christine...thanks for getting us going yesterday!! Will admit to a pretty good day yesterday....pretty low key!! Sounds like no matter what Gary chose for dinner last night you had a good plan to stay as true to BLE as you could!! GREAT JOB!! Have to laugh at Gary's "laundry list" of what is wrong with outside eating!!
Gabrielle...I'm sure you handled the trail run with ease but you might be "feeling it" today or tomorrow!! Sorry you couldn't find a "car free" zone to practice in the Corvette...before long with a bit more practice it will be 2nd nature to drive it even though it is "looser" than you are used to....I know when I get in the van I go on auto-pilot as that drives differently than the CR-V....I think our mind/body just adjusts!! I think a lot of people are enjoying the outdoor seating options. I know Jason and I love to eat on porches or outside seating when available. I know around here lots of permits and things were waived or modified in order to make this option work so not sure if it will continue when things are "back to normal"!
Carole...LOL, nope, doesn't surprise me that you "no plans" got changed....that's usually what happens, right??I could have let the corn sit until Saturday but it was already husked and in the fridge so the sooner you get it off the cob and into the freezer the better. Thankfully Jason does all the husking/silking and I just cut off and bag it!! We have a good system. The corn I did on Friday he picked and husked on Thursday and it was taking up WAY too much space in the fridge so when I got home I just tackled it to get it done!! Apparently after a lot of member back lash PF took back their "mask" rule and as long as you are actively doing cardio you do not have to wear a mask....I did read the whole article so not sure about weight machines....the part I skimmed said cardio equipment.
OYE Carole...hard to keep track of the different schedules for all the different ATM options...guess it keeps life at the bank interesting for you!! Around here we still have the traditional ATM.....deposit/withdrawal only. Most banks are still ATM or drive through only with lobby service by appointment only!
YAY Christine for Gary choosing a restaurant early enough to hopefully make reservations or at least "call ahead seating"!! I'm sure you manage to steer clear of the beer even though at a brewery it is a temptation!! So glad you got to chat with Nancy....I know a lot of people have had success on NOOM...it really does help with the mindset part of the journey which for many is the stumbling block...we all know what to do but our minds/thoughts get in the way!!
Carole...I have to admit too that I prefer a fajita salad more so than the wrap too....for me the extra veggies of the salad is more filling but still less "heavy" than the wrap.... Yup...throw whatever veggies you have on the roasting pan....I honestly often do two pans at a time and by the end of the week with just two of us both are gone!! I love roasted veggies. Sorry McD's choice was not a good one...have to admit, I love the Southwest Salad with grilled chicken. I always get the lite dressing for it and not the one that comes with it!!

Carole...I need to follow your lead when it comes to wine....since the furlough I will admit to more at times than before and more then I need but it happens....I have given it up before for different reasons and I need to cut back and do it again..... Glad you had Eden overnight so Tim and Jaclyn could attend church together for a change....I'm sure Zoe will want to spend the night with Eden....they do enjoy the pool and time together....great idea for a "no muss, no fuss" lunch today!! LOL....I'm sure after a while Tag Sales are NOT fun for a 6 year old!!
Christine...LOL, I'm sure your tracker looks odd to the WW folks but it's interesting to see how BLE fits in with WW....I'm sure it looks very different in each of the WW plans.....we had a bit or rain overnight but didn't really amount to much....it was odd, would down pour for about a minute or two then stop....did it off and all during the night. We had a lot of thunder rumbling around after dark but it was a bust when it comes to needed rain. Today should be dry with rain starting tomorrow mid-afternoon and Tuesday is a total washout with temps not getting our of the low to mid 70's....fingers crossed we get a good soaking!! Was wondering Christine....could the difference this time around with cutting the sugar/flour is that recently you were NOT consuming as much as you had been when you chose BLE the last time??? Maybe the adjustment to you body is not as much as in the past???
Just an idea! I think that if you were not a huge veggie eater/fan before BLE it would be harder to adjust to that amount of veggies. Since most of us here on the thread do like and eat a lot of veggies the amount will seem like a lot but in reality we are all probably pretty close to the 6 oz on most days. I think also for many people, not just us here but many...we all are so busy we eat way too fast and often eat more than we need...slowing down and enjoying each bite is a great way to keep portions in control too!! I have found that IP steamed veggies don't seem to lose as much "weight" in the cooking process as the roasted ones do!! Now I need to do a "test" and weight 6 oz of raw, cook it and reweigh it.....I'm curious!! Might try to roast & steam some cauliflower today and see how the volume changes with each method!! Yes, I'm that odd person that loves experiments....I've always been a math and science girl!! LOL!!
Christine...hopefully Linds was receptive to your thoughts on BLE not fitting into her lifestyle/schedule at this point. I'm sure you caught her off guard but hopefully after a little more thought she will see the logic in your reasoning.
Oh...forgot to mention the latest Amanda issues....first, Colton no longer has a doctor because she did not pay the outstanding balance of what she owed for the pediatrician....they sent a registered letter that her mom signed for but never gave to Amanda so they dropped him as a patient. Sarah called to make him an appointment for a 6th grade physical and found out.....Josh had paid his 1/2 of the bill so they are square!! Anyway, they took him to Express Care and had to pay $35 for a physical while they try to get him into their doctor....he is currently not taking new patients and is on vacation so his nurse told Sarah to call back and since it is a family member he will likely make an exception but she could not make that decision w/o consulting him first. UGH....when will be ever grow up and be responsible.
Then she texted Josh and wanted to take face to face....her, Josh and Colton.....very mysterious and she said this is best done "face to face" and not via text. Anyway we all thought it had to do with her wanting to change Colton's school district to MD now that she was married and she can't move Colton across state lines or change is school district w/o Josh's approval. So they got their "ducks in a row" and got ready to state the case for changing him to SW with Kellen & Jackson but.....it was not about school. Apparently Colton wants to quit baseball....we all know that much of this choice is prompted by Amanda because she had never been supportive and during the conversation Amanda did most of the talking, answering for Colton, etc....Josh asked Colton why he didn't say anything before and Amanda promptly said "because you would have yelled at him"!! Josh quickly nipped that accusation. Amanda went onto say that Colton was the worst on the team and his self-esteem is being crushed. Now that Amanda has a husband and new baby on the way she REALLY does not want to take Colton to practice and games...it takes away from her "family time". Terry's boys do not play any sports....they sit on their phones, tablets and gaming platforms ALL DAY!! Colton's sports are NOT the norm in Terry's world and Amanda is so "love sick" that she will do anything for her "family" now even if it means taking baseball from Colton!!
Yes, switching from the Bulldogs where Colton was one of the best on the team to the Royals where he is "middle of pack" is partly due to the fact that the other boys have been together for years and part of the same coaching staff...this year was going to be a change....also Colton being in the school district he is has always been a "big fish in a small pond" and now with the Royals and also if he switched to SW he is "a small fish in a BIG pond" and NOT on top where he is used to being!! Because Amanda has always given Colton everything and put him is situations where he can excel, the child does NOT know how to "work for anything"! When he hits a struggle or something hard....he quits and Amanda lets him. Where as Josh and Sarah try to help him work through things and work hard to improve.
We are all disappointed but like Sarah said....we can't force him at this point or it will drive a wedge between them and Colton as Amanda will continue to brainwash Colton and coddle him.....who knows, he could change is mind but for now.....baseball is over.

Carole...actually the pulled pork while it does have a bit of sugar it is better than the processed cold cuts. Have you ever tried the BBQ sauce by G Hughes??? It's sugar free and we love it!!! Here is the link to the website....I have been using it for a few years now and even Jason loves it....you can order a variety pack to try a few flavors. They also have some salad dressings and other condiments/sauces/marinades that are really yummy. I have a bottle of the Honey Mustard salad dressing at work right now!!
www.ghughessugarfree.com/sf-bbq-sauce
Gabrielle...OOPS for the wrong turn!! Glad you managed to handle the extra distance!! Ah yes a mani/pedi will be the perfect pampering for those tired legs!! Sounds like your day is a good combo or work, prep and some pampering!! Thanks for the invite to the BLE Pinterest folder!! Everyone needs some ideas to keep from getting in a rut with any program!! LOL, yes, Pioneer Woman definitely cooks for a bunch of hungry ranch hands and not for those trying to watch fat, calories, etc but I will say she does have many episodes where she "goes lighter" and goes back to her vegetarian years. She really can cook a wide range of choices and definitely know how to "cook for a crowd"!!
Carole....I'm with you, I love a little sprinkle of salt on the cukes....it just brings out a little more flavor to me. I only use salt on my HB eggs!! I tend to cook with salt but there are very few things I add salt to at the table.....it is interesting that salt will offset the sugar issues??? I plan to make a couple salads today for the week....will add the tomatoes the day I bring them to work.....nice fresh tomatoes make lettuce soggy if you put it on too soon!!! But if I have the base done the tomatoes are quick to add before I put it in my lunch box!!
WOW....corn is expensive up your way....hopefully in the next few weeks when you can get more local corn it will come down in price....here the $6 is early in the season when it is brought in from the eastern shore....as the local corn arrives it drops down!!!
REALLY? Just because Kaitlin isn't leaving MA she will be spending time with others coming from a "hot spot" and we all know that social distancing will NOT be happening!! Sometimes people just don't use the brains and common sense they were born with!!
Carole...I don't blame you for opting for an "evening" swim instead of nighttime....this Grandma too gets tired when the boys are here and up too late!! Sorry Zoe seems to be struggling with something right now...she is usually a very happy go lucky little one. Never know what might be on her mind at 4 years old. Hopefully she can "work through it" and be back to her sweet self.
Hi Jenny...glad you got to pop in!! Glad your GI appointment is finally here, hopefully you will have answers. Sarah is having issues again and will call her doctor for a CDiff test and depending on what that shows she too will be going back to her GI doctor...... Enjoy your BBQ fish dinner and oysters. Glad you have the opportunity to spend time with family and still keep a distance safely!! I'm with you...I'm looking forward to some rain and a break from the temps!
Waves Lisa, Jo, Shelly, Nadine and anyone else lurking in the shadows....time to get something done around here!! Have a great Satisfying Sunday!!

Thought I would quickly pop in - I didn't sleep well last night but fell into a deep sleep around 5 AM until 8 AM which totally threw off my morning routine lol
Read the paper, made breakfast, and started the laundry. Planned my day for BLE...and trying to shed the 'guilt' of breaking my Bright Lines last night lol - Starting Over again for this gal -
Yesterday I had chopped and measured 6 oz of fresh veggies with the plan to have those BEFORE heading out the door for dinner at the Brewery as we all know restaurant servings of veggies and salads do NOT equal many oz. At 5:00 my good friend from Reading, PA area called for a Wellness Check lol - she and her husband lived next door to me when I was just dating Gary over 30 years ago!! They moved to eastern PA right after our wedding but we've kept in touch all these years. How could I not take her call? Well, an hour later and DH was ready to go out - and I was still on the phone with Geri! Had to rush off the phone with her, quickly change for dinner and dashed out the door forgetting all about my BLE prepared veggies. Once at the Brewery I threw caution to the wind and ordered an equivalent to Michelob Ultra - the lowest sugar beer they had - it was so good! But it did have some sugar. I had ordered the specialty salad w/steak added. Big mistake. The salad arrived just a bed of mixed greens. I sent it back and mentioned they forgot to add the steak. It was immediately returned saying the steak and other veggies were on the bottom. Um, no. The bottom of the bowl had 2 slices of mushrooms, 2 pieces of steak, and 1 cherry tomato. WTH?? Huge disappointment. I wasn't hungry so it didn't matter too too much but I paid a LOT of $$ for that steak salad ($13!!!) So lesson learned there...had Lindsey not been employed there I would have insisted in speaking to the manager but honestly, fine. Just won't order that salad again!
Once home we had homemade chocolate cake. I ate one slice. Yep. I listened to my 'sabotager' that hey, I already broke the Bright Line once that evening so why not have cake and call it a day! I'm fine. Just worried that this will actually become habit forming and I don't want to keep sabotaging my own progress every week. So I am putting it behind me and moving forward BACK ON PLAN of my BLE.
