Hi all, Finn- just getting back to your questions last week. The school is NOT doing temp checks of students or teachers. Everyone is supposed to do it on their own at home, but there is no reporting so it's just honor system.
We are wearing masks, my kids are doing better than I thought.
The school has put in "traffic lanes" to stay on the right side of the hallway and arrows for 6 feet apart. My kids are good at staying in their lane, not so much at the 6 feet apart.
The cafeteria has been changed so their is only 1 child per small round table (sits 4) and two students at the large table (sits 6). They also put desks out in the hallway and vestibule. I claimed the vestibule for my students. I can watch all of them and we have a nice view out the front window!
It's all very strange.
I have students sent in when they are sick no matter what. I had a kid with mono one time, and of course the infamous bed bugs!

Good morning all. I'm keeping my eyes on the weather forecasts for the 2 storms in the Gulf but otherwise it's a typical Monday. I'm going to the Grands' house for the 2nd week of virtual school this morning. I'm bringing a new book to read so I'll be set for the day. diva49 , keeping fingers crossed that Phase Three goes smoothly. hpeterson1951, I hope the school year continues in a positive way for everyone. Take care; teachers are invaluable!

I'm in. *waves to all* Calls and catch-up for the start of the week. My BGF successfully served another 400+ cars with the third free food giveaway since the shutdown. There's a staggering amount of food-insecurity out there that only promises to get worse in the next coming months. I haven't been inside a store since the first week of March. We've been using curbside pick-up, delivery and drive-thru for everything. There are some things we've been needing that can't be done curbside. *sigh* Waldorf chicken salad for dinner tonight. This time I used apples instead of white grapes. Tracking as I go today. Continued prayers for those impacted by the fires and incoming storm.
ETA: Happy Birthday Becky!

Happy Monday! Welcome to the sh*t show that is the first day of the semester! LOL National Zoom outage and pretty much all systems on campus were down by 9 a.m. What a fun morning! NOT!! (I do think everything has now been restored according to our IT department). UGH!! Still dealing with the BS from my BO! It will be a miracle if my grads and lecturers are paid correctly! I'm giving 4 weeks until we have to shut down again. There were at least 3 parties reported this weekend (off campus), 36 students suspended for not following the rules, and 5 Greek houses on lock down for exposures or positive cases. On a positive note, I did a BodyPump class after I left campus today to work off some stress! While it's still weird to go to the gym, I am OK with it as long as people stay away from me and I can grab a spot in the BACK of the room away from any fans! With that being said! I hope everyone is the path of the hurricanes or affected by the fires out west are safe. Positive energy to all!

finreporter,- Thanks for the kind words. My kids will not get the vaccine. Many of my parents are anti-vaxxers. Most of my students have not had any childhood vaccines. Depending on if it's live or not, I may not be able to get it. Due to some of my medications I can not get certain vaccines. So, I just take my chances.
