WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C75D11, 8100 fitbit steps.
Edesia โ So sorry to hear about your Mom. Hope whatever it is can be promptly resolved to everyoneโs satisfaction.
Beth โ Goodness, your Mom too. Youโre all at the stage where these things start to happen. Iโve got AFib โ the blood thinner is to avoid a stroke. Iโve been on Eliquis for about a year and a half. So far no side effects. Enjoy your visitor.
Lori โ The Splendor helped a bit.
Louise โ Same to you. Travel safe and have a great BF holiday.

Checking in...
comfort food for lunch yesterday (Chinese take out...appetizer plate).
Left work early to be with mom from about 5:30 until 9:30. got hungry and went down to cafรฉ...selected a banana and a pretzel & hummus thing. satisfying.
woke up this morning with the worst headache I've ever had. scary. took some acetaminophen and I'm at work now. Headache seems to be releasing and I'm feeling better. Should probably take another dose in a few hours to stay on top of it.
I'm planning to head back to hospital around 2:00 and stay until around 9:30 again. They're talking about sending her home Friday...hopefully that will work out.
She got an additional diagnosis yesterday...so with this hospital stay we've added A-Fib, Heart Failure, and Interstitial Lung Disease to her long list of chronic stuff. Poor thing. Nancy, I think I remembered about you having A-Fib. Is that Eliquis one of the newer ones where you don't have to have your blood drawn every 2 seconds?
Edesia...I hope things are settling down for your mom today.
hugs to everybody!
