I don't know if it's the only good social media, but I do love to see the sucess stories and the people there are very positive. I don't talk about my weight loss journey with anyone in person or in any other social media (except here). Only my immediate family and my mom know I'm even on it. But on Connect (and here)I can brag about my successes and people cheer with me or gripe about my failures and people commiserate and encourage.

Interesting article especially - to me - about how it got started. I still don't like it, and don't post there, though I do sometimes scroll through to look at before and after pictures. And also sometimes to see if others agree with me about whether dress A or dress B is the better option, even though I never post my choice.

It boggles my mind the numerous posts about death, divorce, cancer diagnosis, abuse, etc. People seem to turn to strangers and spill their guts out...I dint waste a lot of time there unlike FB!

After I read that article I went looking for a disclaimer that she works for WW. The last couple of articles I've read about WW (like the one about meetings for younger members) seem to make good points that are negated by the hyperbole in the article.
*disclaimer: I stopped being an "official" WWer before Connect so I've never seen it.

susan092907 I'm sure I never would have stayed if I hadn't committed to starting our accountability post, but I'm glad I did. There are 30-50 people I see most days and it's been fun. I also am at a stage of my life where I'm not interested in going down the online rabbit hole and it's easy to slip in and out a few times a day. With literally thousands of posters every day I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon. I was always terrible at getting involved in drama on the boards, and while I think there is plenty on Connect, I don't see it. I think it's fine that we have Connect and the boards, so that people can find what they like.

Exactly what lmenglish said, man I started reading there one day and the three top trending ones were about terminal infants, with pics. Instant black cloud over my head. Followed by the rest she listed, oy. I gave it a few tries but dang I must seem to pick the horrible days to read. Oh the other ones were hi "I am going out to dinner what shirt should I wear a or b?" Or the ever popular which bathing suit a or b?! Did people really lose the ability to dress themselves? Also what Kathy said about drama, I had come across multiple whining posts about people having posts/pics poofed and how mean everyone was and if you didn't like something just scroll on, and how so and so was never coming back. Blah blah blah. Oy It is easy to scroll when I am on the bike so I did give it a fair shot, but way too much misinformation on there also. Especially with new members that haven't done previous versions. We all know about horrible leaders that give their own perspective and I got tired of repeatedly correcting misinformation and having people argue about it, even after linking them to the actual website.

I agree that this seems like a promo for WW.
I've never been on Connect, as I stopped being a paying member before it was launched.
I've not heard much good about it, though.

I'll pop onto Connect once in a while, but I'm still not a fan of it. And I'm not on there enough to see any of the drama, if any.
Also... I'm going to lose access to Connect when I cancel WW. I'm going to go back to MFP (again) in about a month. I'm just struggling with WW for some reason right now. Struggling in general, but I've logged back on to MFP and seem to be fond of it again. (I switch between the 2 programs for the last few years).
