Welcome to our 2020 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

BUILD A WALL OF RESOLVE, BRICK BY BRICK NEW CHALLENGE September 6 through October 31
Accountability: experiencing consequences for performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization, for a society, and for a person.
In other words, with accountability, a person will assume ownership of their own action because they will face consequences. Accountability is what we’ll call it, but think of it as both incentive and insurance. Establishing accountability helps us to stay the course, even when our former ways tempt us. If a little accountability is good, and more is better, then let’s go all in on this challenge.
What should we be accountable for in this challenge? Pick one, all, or anything in between. Feel free to add your own accountability goal and let others join you.
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!

Skipped the morning walk, just too sore. Between icing my legs and alternating Alleve and Advil w/ Tylenol, I was feeling less sore by the afternoon. Puttered in the craft room a little, really just looking for the Santa I've been working on for months and the supplies needed to finish it. Made good progress on it, I should be able to finish it this week if I stick with it. DH tidied up the garage and was able to actually park my car inside. What a luxury that will be! I helped a little with the tidying. After dinner, we watched Hamilton on Disney+ (actually I watched it, DH did not make it even halfway through the first act and DD was not interested). Loved it, although it is long! I was googling Alexander Hamilton and some of the other characters to fill in my sketchy memory of American history. If you watch it, I recommend googling the lyrics to follow along. Some of it is so fast it's hard to understand what they are singing.
Jan- WTG for the choices you made. Love the M. Obama quote. Yay for DS's healthy, interesting eating choices! Congrats on winning the weekend challenge. I am eating cut up watermelon too. Not sure when other DS will visit. It may not be until after there is a vaccine. He does not feel like it safe flying across the country at this time. Hopefully by Christmas!
GG- WTG making specific and measurable goals for the week.
Carole- Yay for a day off!
Cindy- Sorry you are back in a cast. Hugs!

Hope all are well and ready to head into Fall. Chilly here today and still looks like rain. We are heading to the cabin tomorrow and I'll have to bring much warmer clothes. DH will just stay one day, help finish the painting and then come back to the cats. I will try to stay @ a week if I can, last trip until we close in beginning October. Sis wants to do some canning, I can keep up my AF days and WW eating and I'll get more knitting and reading done while I"m there. Will clean out most of the fridge. Would be tempted to close now but have a cousin who wants to go up the last week of September. Have errands to run before the trip, have things to drop at the thrift store, need to get some kind of walk in today and then there's always cooking and cleaning Hope you all have a great day. Jan "Direction is so much more important than speed." Amy Glad the icing and drugs helped a bit. Yay for getting the car in the garage, that's a long lost fantasy for me Hope DS feels safe to fly by Christmas! I would love to see the original cast of Hamilton, saw the play last Fall. LOVED it. Yes, you really have to pay attention, and of course my US history was also lacking in remembering all that happened. GG Your goals sound great. I love how this really makes me think each day and check if I followed through. What day do you "teach" this week? Cindy Sorry you're back in a cast but maybe a better healing process this time. I saw where Liz had had a second surgery on her wrist as they missed the "break" when they were focused on her shoulder last spring. Find some good binge watching or books to read. This too will pass. Hugs. Any more word for DS on jobs? Carole Always good to have the kids home, then it's the getting used to when they're gone again. Is Lex living with you? Sorry people at work are crazy. I think the whole rest of the year is going to be crazy. When do you go to Florida again? Something to look forward to. Cathy Any news about the water? Murphy Hope you are just unplugged for your long weekend and doing fine. Check in when you can.

I can’t believe the difference in my day by having a list I want to do! I not only did the few things I wanted to, I did more! It’s almost like the Flylady way of doing things for 15 minutes! It gets me started!
Amy: I’m glad you are resting some instead of pushing yourself so hard! Glad you got your car in the garage! I haven’t seen Hamilton. I’m glad you watched it even if you ended up watching it by yourself!
Jan: I am so with you on having lists and goals! I am not scheduled for this week, but am going to offer to go up tomorrow. DS works 6-6 nights tomorrow, and he needs to be able to sleep!
Cindy: Glad you had it looked at instead of just ignoring it! Hopefully now it will heal!
Carole: I have turned into an old woman! I don’t like to do anything until after 9 o’clock am and before 9 o’clock pm! Lol
Time to move!

Hi All,
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
Fresh Start Monday! What is your accountability for the week?
Move More Accountability
Increasing my daily steps to get back to 10K a day!
Sleep Accountability Slept through, 7 hours, 43 minutes. Adjusted the base so my legs are elevated and I think that is helping.
Nutrition Accountability AF. Drank fluids, one breakfast bar, just not hungry (Weird)
Happiness Accountability
Need to change my thought pattern. Celtics won and that helped my mood.
Habit Accountability Working on that.
Check In Daily Accountability HERE!
DS has had several lengthy interviews but so far no results though he also hasn't received the "thank you for applying however" letter on any of them. So he continues looking/applying/calling.
Amy, yay for being able to put your car in the garage! Glad you found your Santa and happy that you are taking care of yourself. Hope your DS can make it for Christmas. All is so hard to plan. Just very happy for you and your family!
Murphy!!
Jan, enjoy the cabin tomorrow! Any chance of an Indian Summer? Do you have a wood stove at the cabin? I did see that about Liz. The healing has been a long haul for her. I imagine she wants to get to knitting for the little one to come.
GG, glad your list making really helped. Sometimes the simplest things are most helpful.
Carole, there seems to be lots of craziness and it always amazes me how one person thinks their opinion of what is right is more important than another person.
Cathy, I hope the water is back...8 days! Yikes! And no internet! I don't know how you do it. Hugs!
Going to see what might be good for dinner.
Hugs to all, Cindy
