Good morning all. Stayed up later than usual last night...just sitting and sipping in the screen room. It was a beautiful evening. Nothing much on the agenda for day. May do a little more organizing or not. Time will tell.
Pam sounds like you had an extremely busy day. Praying that today is less hectic for you. Great job on your steps. Nice that you are keeping up with that routine. Hope your eye is doing better. ((((hugs)))) and prayers for DH (and you) continue.
After coffee I shall plan and track my day. Curious as to if I took off some of the weight that 'found me' Will report back after I weigh in.
Waving..and will CBL

Just finished coffee and planning my day. I had a cheese omelet with WW bread for breakfast and a banana. Lunch will be a salad with lo chicken and veggie bean soup. Snack hummus with baby carrots FF Greek Yogurt and mixed berries and supper is grilled ham steak with scalloped potato and green beans.
Carl just left to get gas so that he can mow our neighbor's lawn. Hopefully it won't be too hot. Right now we have very little clouds and lots of sunshine. A mixture that I'm not fond of LOL.
Will pop in later.
Pam, I so enjoyed the email. Back in the day, everyone stepped up to the plate and did what needed to be done. No complaints!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday!! I do hope everyone had a great weekend, no matter how it was spent. We slept well at our house and woke to a brand new day, brand new week, and nothing on the agenda.
So far DH has cooked breakfast of a fruit bowl, scrambled EB w/LF cheese and Dave's toast. It was wonderful! We ate supper of grilled sirloin steaks, pressure cooked Yukon Gold potatoes, and corn-off-the-cob. We skipped lunch and only had a Laughing Cow snack; then went right to an early dinner.
Afterward we took a ride to the Home Depot to look at fire pits. DH is wanting one for our patio for the Fall. We have never had one, but did enjoy the one at his VBF's house for the past many summers. We found exactly what we wanted and then checked at Lowe's just to be sure. Lowe's didn't have nearly the selection and there were none set-up for us to see them. We decided where to put it, and what chairs to use on the patio for the fire pit. For the sake of comfort and looks, I am looking for some pads for them. My project for today was to go shopping but the weather may change all that. DH brought up the fire extinguisher from downstairs and put it near the door wall in case we need it when we use the fire pit. We have a wooden privacy fence around 2 sides of our patio and the house on one side, so it made me a bit nervous. But not so much with the extinguisher handy.
It got down in the low 50's here last night and then started storming in the early morning. It is still in the mid-50's and raining so I may stay indoors all day. I have a list of stores to check out for chair pads, though they may be a seasonal item and not available. OTOH, I may try just shopping online for them. I cooked quite a bit this weekend, and find myself with leftovers galore, the meat is packaged and in the freezer. It promises to stay cool all week here but warm up a bit by the next weekend.
Ann ~ Congrats on taking care of that blip! You are truly an inspiration!! I am so glad you share those things on here, as we all need the constant reminders.
Pam ~ Thank you for the email and your DD thoughts. It reminded me of 'those men' in my own life as a child and it was a wonderful trip down Memory Lane.
Judy ~ Sounds like you had a good time at the Cape. Watching butterflies would be right up my alley! We still have a few fireflies but they are getting scarce. I have one bumblebee who is delighted to find I still have flowers for him.
I plan to get rid of my porch pot this week as it is just about "all done". Then soon we will get rid of the petunia pots on the patio to make room for the fire pit. Time for the change of season, but it will be fun to have something new. This summer we got really used to sitting outdoors for a bit every evening, and that brought to mind what to replace it with and .... the idea of the fire pit! I began putting my sandals away yesterday and got out some fabric tennies to wear instead.
BBL. Make a great day!!
I need to get myself put together and the bed made and then decide what to do for exercise.

Sue good to see you. I was going to put away some of my sandals...I just can't part with them yet. I'll give it a few more weeks and then have my moment with each and every pair LOL. Sorry for you rain. I'm sure you'll have plenty of inside chores to keep you amused. I hope you find just want you want with the fire pit. We could probably have one in our yard...but we mostly sit in the screen room at night and that's too close for comfort. I'm not even sure they would allow it. I'm not up on fire rules. No one that lives here has one, so our retirement community may not even allow that sort of thing. I do love the looks and feel of them...so nice and cozy especially on a cool fall evening Nothing tickles my fancy more than leftovers. We also have our fair share...some in the fridge and some I froze. I like the easy and security of having a well stocked meals up and ready when we are. Carl is still mowing the lawn. I did two loads of laundry and now I think it's time to turn on the AC. It's getting a tad stuffy in here. Will pop in later.

Hey all,
I enjoyed reading your posts and I loved Pam's email about that Greatest Generation. We were so lucky to have so many of them in our lives - never complained but just soldiered on no matter what they encountered. So many people are so "entitled" today that it's a refreshing change to think about them.
Sue, I'm sure you will love your new fire pit. We have one at the Cape that we put up on the patio from time to time. It's so fun to sit around it and chat or just watch the flames. We didn't use it much this year. Maybe we will this fall. Hip Hip Hooray for another night of good sleep.
I went to my WW meeting today but opted not to weigh in today. I need a mental health break from the scale. It was a good meeting and our leader did tell us that WW is on hard times now. THey have canceled several virtual meetings and also worry that many folks - like those in our packed Tuesday AM Zoom meeting - prefer the new Zoom format and may not want to return to in person treks. I am sort in that category. I have adjusted well to seeing all my WW friends on Zoom and glad I don't have to drive to the center. It's a mix, I know, of different opinions.
Ann, I haven't flipped the A/C on yet but plan to soon. I have to run out in a minute to return the shoes I bought online. Off to the PO. They did not fit - too small though they were my size. It is always iffy buying shoes online but I do it a lot. Usually I buy the same brands and that works. Speaking of sandals, I am nowhere near retiring mine for the season. I keep right on wearing them until October! I hate going back into real shoes. LOL I have many shoes, but have been mainly wearing my soft padded BIrkenstocks all summer. My feet are happy. Feel like they were custom made for me the way the arch and food pads feel.
Off to do a bit of work. I did send a strong note to DD's attorney about the snail's pace this is taking to get her some decent support. I don't understand why she is still struggling so much. DD is beyond frustrated and she wrote to them, too. It is such a helpless feeling but her gov't loan runs out soon.
I'll bbl. Have a wonderful day all.

Hi All ~
I had to shudder at your mention of turning on the A/C - it is still 58 dg here at mid-day. It is supposed to warm up, but only to upper 60's this afternoon.
Ann ~ In regards our fire pit we found one that is has a mesh cover and is 30" in diameter. I don't know if our HOA allows them either, but some evenings when we sit out on the porch we smell wood burning coming from the back of the complex; so someone is using one. My neighbor has one that is gas-burning, but DH really wants the 'smell' of wood! Some of our neighbors have wood-burning fireplaces, and they smell wonderful on a cool night as well. I think with the cover AND the fire extinguisher close by, we are taking proper precautions.
Judy ~ I know what you mean about shoes. I ordered a new pair of Skechers Air-Cooled Memory Foam slip-on tennies last year to wear for the Fall, and (as I recall) it got cold all of a sudden and they got put away almost brand new. I have worn them some this year, but thought I would get out my wardrobe of fabric tennies to enjoy during this time. I even contemplated taking my white capris downstairs and putting them away. I brought my capris up an arm-load at a time and may put them away the same way. GFY for taking a break from the WW WI. I do hope they don't 'go under'.
It stopped raining briefly, so I donned tennies and a jacket and went for a double walk. I had thought about getting out a Leslie Sansone DVD today but the outdoor walk really perks me up!! I plan to have some Zero Point Soup for lunch - and then chicken breasts with bulgur/mango/avocado salad for supper.
BBL.

We also enjoy the smell of wood. Especially in fall and winter when out walking. Such a comforting aroma I hope you go for it and that your HOA allows it. Yes you are taking all precautions. I did pack away my really light weight white clothes. The rest of them...well, they are still hanging. I won't do the complete switch over for another few weeks as I'm sure it's going to heat up once again. We have the AC on. I put it on earlier as Carl was out mowing our neighbors lawn. He was very grateful when he came in as the house was quite cool. I still have it on. One of the screws came loose on his riding lawn mower, so he went to Tractor Supply to pick one up. I decided to pass on that trip LOL. Nothing I really need or want there. Tomorrow we will hit Hannaford's to stock up on produce. Slim pickings in my refrigerator bins. Glad you got you walk in.

Hello friends!
We had another busy day. I slept in a little, since Debbie will be in NOLA for work until Friday. I walked just over 2.5 miles and finished my audiobook. It was a very well-written book and kept me engaged, but the topic--pedophilia--was difficult to stomach. It did give me good insight into how these men are able to slowly groom and entice teen girls and the devastating effect it has on their lives.
I had a chance to cool off a bit and change clothes before PT was here to work with DH. She stayed so long, we had to rush to get lunch and then head to wound care. While DH had hyperbaric tx, I made a run to Walmart and found the Thomas Multigrain Light English muffins we so enjoy. I couldn't find any at our Walmart or at Super1 yesterday. I browsed around and found several other items I needed and a couple things our Walmart never seems to have, like SF jello pudding. I also came upon Christmas ornaments--it's not even Halloween yet!!!--and found a unicorn for Madison (she has a unicorn winter hat I gave her and a unicorn sleep mask, which she wears a lot as a headdress) and a llama for Leah, who is entranced with the Llama, Llama series of books.
Later, while in the waiting room at wound care, a man began chatting with me. He told me as soon as he gets his foot better, he is going to stay with his girlfriend. He said, "Would you like to see her picture?" I said, "Sure." and he showed me the screen saver on his phone. I said, "That's Reba McIntyre" and he said, "Uh huh, and she's taking me to the CMA Music Awards in a few days." I quickly became engrossed in my cell phone and began praying they would call him in for his appointment. When they finally did, I glanced up as he walked off and got an eyeful of b*tt crack as his tshirt was hiked up and his jeans were sagging. His injured foot was wrapped in gauze and an ace bandage, but no shoe of any kind. I couldn't wait to tell DH that I met Reba's boyfriend.
We got home about 3:50pm and I hurriedly unloaded and put away Walmart purchases and left for town for a 4:15 doctor's appointment. This morning, my doctor heard them schedule my appt. for tomorrow AM and told them that if I had pink eye, I needed to be seen today, so they called and rescheduled right before we left to go to wound care. He prescribed some antibiotic drops and agreed that the ones I had from 2012 were probably not potent enough anymore. It took nearly an hour's wait at Walmart to get my prescription, but I also picked up DH's Rx, saving me a trip tomorrow.
I hurried home and threw together a jambalaya-type dish to use up the rest of the leftover baked chicken. I was pleased to recall that it is a 1 SP dish on purple plan, since brown rice, blackeyed peas and chicken breast are all zero point foods. I made coleslaw to go with it. I have enough left for a couple lunches, plus some to share with Dee, if she wants some.
DH has gone to bed, the kitchen is clean and I'm going to read a bit. I don't think I can finish this book before it gets repossessed, but I'm going to try, as I will have to place a hold to get it back. I will walk early tomorrow as HH is coming at 8:00am.
Sue - I love a fire pit! Ours rusted through, so we are in the market for a new one. I will definitely check out Home Depot. Thanks for the tip! We promised DD2 we'd get one for the camp, too, as she loves a fire when we are there, even in the heat of summer.
Ann - I just KNEW you would drop that extra weight in no time! WTG!
Judy - I hope DD's attorney can get things moving. It is ridiculous that men are allowed to skip on child support for so long. I am not surprised that in-person WW meetings are fading. I think that by the time this pandemic is through with us, we will all live a much more isolated life style. So many businesses are figuring out that they can have employees work from home and rent less office space. So many meetings and other gatherings are going to zoom and other web-based apps and may never go back to in person. I hope and pray the schools are able to return to normal, though, so our little ones won't have to struggle to get an education.
Sweet dreams!
