Good morning friends. Last night as I was leaving the house to walk with Carl and LuLa, I put my hand on the railing and felt a hot pinch. Low and behold I was stung by a hornet. First time that's ever happened and it hurt like he!! We cut the walk short, I came in washed it and applied ice. It's still a little tender and swollen but not as bad and the real pain is gone. Just a twitching every now and then. I believe I'll live So, that way my excitement yesterday. One that I could have done without.
Pam sounds like you had a very busy day. Great you are walking with Debbie. OMG to meeting Reba McIntyre friend. Complete with 'plumbers crack' LOL. You just never know who you are going to run into these days. Praying that you eye if feeling better. Also hope DH doesn't catch it. Your meal sounded very good.
We had ham for supper and I'm still feeling somewhat bloated. Guess my weight will be up from that and I'm good with it. That's the beauty of keeping a food journal.
Wishing all a wonderful day. We need to hit Hannaford's today and other than that...no plans.

Apparently the ham and sting didn't register on the scale lol....was down .9. It may or may not catch up with me. I'm good either way.
Coffee time.

Hey all,
Happy Wednesday - though it feels like Tuesday to me because of the holiday. My days get thrown off sometimes! I slept well enough and was awakened by D&D wanting their breakfast about 7 AM. THey are the best co-workers I've ever had. Quiet, no drama and their schedule never changes. I swear they can tell time - time for walks, playtime and of course, food! Daisy will come up and "kick" me if I am five minutes late. Too funny.
Pam, I had such a good chuckle about you meeting Reba's "boyfriend." Poor guy and what a creep. I am sure some of these stars receive very scary, creepy notes. Sad but that guy definitely has "magical" thinking! I am glad things are moving along for DH and his treatments and home care. It's sounds like a lot for you to keep up with as well, but I am sure you are both so relieved that this is the protocol.
Sue, we have a mesh covered firepit, too. It can be moved around. My brother had the pit built into his seating area on his deck at the Cape. That was nice, too. It was gas but like you, I enjoy the wood smell, too. Feels more like a real campfire.
Ann, yikes! I have had plenty of honeybee and yellow jacket and even a bumblebee sting but never a wasp. OUCH! I hope your hand is okay today. Did you get the stinger out? So sorry. I was afraid you were going to say spider bite and those really scare me.
Yesterday got hectic on me. I had a busy morning and then I dashed out during a late lunch to get groceries and went to the P.O. While at the P.O., I told the clerk I was sorry about the recent impacts at the P.O. and closings around the country. She told me that everything is fine, good as ever and it's all hype. I hope she is right. I don't see that as we have seen the impact even in our area. I just nodded and said that was good.
DD and I tried to light a fire under the attorney yesterday but have not heard a word back. We both expressed frustration and fear at the way things are headed. Still no support - mediation looming. We've been so patient, but it's running thin. I cannot for the life of me understand why she is not getting temporary support. He gives what he randomly deems appropraite but often very (and I mean very) low amounts. I so wish all this miserable stuff was behind us.
I started a new fluffy book yesterday as a Kindle Prime freebie It's a nice lightweight diversion.
Breakfast was yogurt, fruit and a low cal pumpkin muffin. Last night I made another really yummy zucchini, summer squash, tomato, onion casserole with parmesan cheese and lf cheddar topped with panko crumbs and baked an hour. DH loves it - second time I have made it. I modified the recipe from All Recipes and cut down on butter, etc. We had it with a serving of chicken and veggies. I skipped dessert but had a gin and diet tonic instead before dinner. Choices. I also had my ukulele singalong and we did music from the 50s! Fun.
I'll check in soon.

Apparently hornets do not lose their stinger as they can sting again. I read that they are 'social' as they normally travel in colonies. To me I'll file that under WAY TMI lol. Never was a fan of the great outdoors as anything flying or crawling seem to find and LOVE me.......I'm just grateful that I didn't have a reaction.
I too read all about the PO. So far we haven't noticed anything 'different' in that area. I did notice, however, that a package that I'm waiting for from Yves Rocher is out for delivery but no date given at this time. I found that odd as I never had that message before.
I can't say as I blame you for your patience running thin. This has gone on long enough. Hopefully the attorney will reach out soon to shed a light on this situation. You are in my prayers.
How fun to have the ukulele singalong with music of the 50's...that era was so upbeat.
Enjoy your book and your meals sound great.
I'm all planned and tracked. Had my 'Turkish breakfast' lunch will be chili over a half baked potato snacks humus carrot sticks FF Greek yogurt with fruit, and supper we are having grilled chicken, rice and not sure of the veggie...I have several to choose from at home and who knows what I'll come across at Hannaford's when we go.
Later.....

Hi Ann, social beings and hornets don't seem to go in the same sentence. LOL Now honey bees I love. We have bee gardens at the Cape to encourage their repopulation since they were nearly wiped out.
I forgot to congratulate you on the WL! Hooray. You do it right! and you have managed to maintain for so long. It's fabulous. Also, you are having one of my favorite lunches. Potatoes with chili. Yum! I love potatoes - must be my Irish coming out! Swedish, Irish and Scottish.
Our house is currently a "Chip-free" zone. That is what it is going to take for me. No more for a good while. I am nibbling on yummy strawberries and a vanilla Light and Fit yogurt. I am not a Greek yogurt fan except one brand -Fage- and I much prefer regular yogurt. I wish I had a taste for plain Greek FF. I don't.
I walked both dogs and they completed their tasks happily.
Last night I watched a Frontline episode on Being Poor in America through the eyes of children during the pandemic, too. Though it was very sad, i also found it hopeful. THe kids were incredibly mature and smart and focused. You can see it on You Tube if you google Frontline if interested.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! I agree with Judy that it is increasingly hard to keep track of the days, then throw in a holiday and it all goes haywire!! But here we are ....
Ann ~ So sorry to hear about your hornet sting! Glad you haven't had any kind of reaction to it. We woke to temps in the 50's again this morning. Fortunately I closed all the windows except for the bedroom, which was only open a couple of inches with the blinds closed over it. GREAT sleeping!! I also filled my oil diffuser for the first time in ages and we drifted off to a lavender-infused bedroom.
Pam ~ You certainly do keep busy - and I love reading about your day! It sounds like your DH is progressing nicely?? Christmas ornaments?? REALLY?? I shouldn't be surprised as things seem to come out earlier and earlier every year. You did great finding the best ornaments. Too funny about meeting Reba's 'boyfriend'. Poor guy.
Judy ~ So discouraging about DD's attorney and her ex. The issue of support needed to be addressed a long time ago! Too funny about your dogs 'telling time'. I have experienced that with pets and it is truly a hoot! I would love to have heard your ukelele lesson - as 50's music would be so fun and upbeat! The other night DH put on a Motown review on You-Tube for our outdoor sitting time - all music from the 60's, and (of course) 'The Detroit Sound'. We enjoyed it very much!
DH and I made a decision last night to sell our grill. We have had it for a while, but it takes up more room than we have to spare now that we want to get the fire pit. Also we never use it. The first couple of years he used it - then the past 3 only about once a summer and this year not at all. It is on our patio and that is where the hottest of the summer sun hits in the afternoon, so it is not really conducive. We decided to reclaim that space and repurpose it. DH took pictures for me and I will be posting the grill online for sale today. Then we can move on to getting rid of the flowers soon and then getting the fire pit and getting set up for Fall.
I did an unofficial WI today and am still hanging just a half pound under my highest goal weight. I would like to get below that, but am still pleased that I'm not going over - when we have been pretty liberal with snacks and desserts recently. Most importantly, all my clothes fit. I still wear the same size as the wedding dress I wore when I married DH almost 29 years ago. I guess that is a victory!
I had my yogurt 'n berries w/F1 breakfast this morning. I may need to make a run to a grocery store sometime today because we are running low on coffee. I usually buy it at Costco or Sam's but I don't know that I want to go that far?? I'll get my house in order and then decide. I could go to Meijer and buy a smaller bag of the brand we like (Dunkin Donuts) and do Costco later.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi Judy ~ Great minds think alike. We were posting at the same time. I also prefer Fage and I buy the plain NF Greek. I have tried other brands, but always come back. I do buy Dannon Light 'n Fit Strawberry Cheesecake for snacks but it is also Greek. I tried some regular yogurt recently and didn't like the texture - guess it was an acquired taste!?!
Have a wonderful day!!

LOL Judy. I feel the same way about eggs. Wish I loved them. Unfortunately I only eat them in 'baked good' or an omelette with LOTS and LOTS of cheese or a fritatta. When Carl makes and eats an egg salad sandwich, I go into the other room LOL. I agree with the chips. The russet chips are the devil! I stopped buying those. Only ones that I have SOME control over are the wavy Hannaford chips. Nice crunch and not too salty. When I find the bag going down sooner than I want...I stop bringing them home! I swear I could eat baked potatoes ever day...or mashed or fried. So long as they are white potatoes. Never was a fan of sweet potatoes or yams. Not even sure if they are one in the same LOL. Carl won't touch Greek yogurt period and to me that's like eating ice cream. Especially when I add fruit to it. I've also added canned pumpkin pumpkin pie spice splenda blend and F1 on top. That sends Carl over the edge LOL...oh well....I always tell him to eat egg salad Judy I will google that Frontline episode. At first I was thinking you were referring to the tick meds for the fur kids LOL. My heart goes out to those less fortunate. They seem to fair well which is a blessing. Sue like you I don't care for the texture of regular FF yogurt. I picked one up by mistake and mixed a little of it with the FF Greek. The rest of it I ended up tossing. Just wasn't worth it to me. The brand that I buy is Hannaford's which I like over all others I've tried. It's very thick. I like it because they package it in 1 cup portions and you get 4 to a pack. I pick up 2 every time I go. Will have to do that today That is a feat to be the same size as you were when you married. I must look into that Motown Review. Sounds like something we would both enjoy. Thanks for that. Good luck selling the grille. We use ours all the time. Carl has a smoker and grille under the carport and a smaller variety of both in our screen room. The one in the screen rooms gets used the most and year round. I'm just waiting for Carl to come home from mowing and trimming our neighbor's lawn. I can see him out the window as I type. We'll have another cup of coffee while he rests up and cleans up and then hit Hannaford's. Will try to pop in later. If not...enjoy your day all!

I loved the 'conversation' about potatoes. As a rule, I never cook white potatoes, but recently I found out how to cook the Yukon Gold potatoes in my Instant Pot and they are delicious!! We have had them twice now and I put a pat of butter in them and sprinkle some parsley and they are wonderful. We also love sweet potatoes (or yams) and usually do them in the m/w but they tell me they come out better in the Instant Pot, so that will be on my to-do list as well.
I had a HB egg and some LF cottage cheese and peach slices for lunch. I also did one long walk this morning and may get another one before it is all said and done. We are having hot dogs for supper (the ones made with beef brisket).
I am headed off to Costco for coffee and a half dozen things in the pharmacy section. It should be a quick trip. I also have a short list for Meijer so I may do that on the way back - depends on how I feel.

Ann, you and I can wallow in potatoes! When we used to go out to dinner (remember those days?!!), often my baked potato was the highlight of any meal I had including rib eye steaks, etc. Funny how i lost my taste for Greek yogurt. I think I tried a couple brands that seemed very grainy to me- Chobani is one of those and I didn't care for it. It switched me to smooth lighter taste of regular yogurt. :-)
Yes, Sue, we are extremely discouraged about the support received and we've asked for months about it. I think she thought she'd wrap everything up in a neat bundle and end it out of court, but it "ain't" working. More on that later but very stressful now for DD as her gov't loan runs out soon. Sometimes I wish there was a rocket ship I could hop on and get away from all this. It is just awful. On a better note, you will love your fire pit. Funny you are selling a grille as my DH is always looking for a sale on a very fancy Weber that he wants for the Cape. We sure have not needed it this summer and only grilled the week DS and DDIL were there. Speaking of them, they are coming for a long weekend over the 19th or so.
Have fun at Hannaford's, Ann. Your Carl is always busy with his helpful outdoor chores. My DH is much the same - always outside in the garden or burning brush or trimming hedges, etc. He cannot sit still. They say opposites attract and must be true because I am very contented sitting with a book in my hand!
Sue, meant to add that I am so impressed that you weigh your wedding weight! WOW! That is wonderful. You are incredible. If you don't mind my asking, how much did you lose with WW?
Take care all...back to work and then a zoom meeting at 3 pm. Another pair of shoes went back today - I tried a few sizes and no luck. Easy peasy to return for free through Staples very near my home. TTFN....

LOL Judy we truly are soul sistahs at heart. I can sit and read or as I say 'play in my head' thinking of days gone by.....
So sorry for another pair of shoes needing to be returned. I have no clue what I'm going to do when I need shoes. I have a high instep and a wide foot. It's not easy.
yes Carl is always doing something. Watching him at times makes me dizzy LOL. Right now he is worn out and he and LuLa are taking a nap. I'm happy for that.
So happy that DS and DDIL are coming for another visit. That will keep your mind focused and off all the goings on with DD and HIM. I pray that it all ends favorably and soon!
We found all that we needed at Hannaford's......and drum roll.......I found the CLOROX WIPES!!!!! Only one per customer, but that was fine with me. Thing is, I wasn't even looking for them and low and behold there they were......I blinked a few times just to be sure LOL.......
Going to sit and relax for a bit.
Waving...........

I am back from Costco. I got our coffee and a few things from the Pharmacy that I don't need just yet, but will in time. In recent months some things have been out of stock so often that I now buy them when I see them. So a couple of my vitamins and a new bottle of Tylenol PM are now in my cupboard.
I perused the Deli section while I was there and they had their stuffed peppers out - the ones that we love - and I snagged a pan of them. I bake the whole thing, we eat half (1 1/2 each) and then freeze the rest for another day. Looks like the brisket hot dogs will have to be pushed back until tomorrow.
Judy ~ I posted our TRU Infrared grill on Craig's List this morning. DH took some pictures of it inside and out for me - and it has its own cover. Hopefully someone will want it, though it is the wrong season. We would have to do some serious rearranging in our garage to make room for it over the winter, but it is a possibility. I used to love the loaded baked potato at The Outback Steakhouse back in the day!! I have been grilling on my large George Foreman all summer (cooler in the house) and when it bites the dust I will definitely replace it. I know how to cook everything that I use it for. I have a stove top grill that I use for fish. I used to do chicken breast on the GF but since I started doing them in the Instant Pot, they are so much better! I lost 25 lbs on WW. Sounds paltry sometimes, but it is what it is.
Ann ~ Bravo for finding the Clorox wipes! I heard somewhere (probably on TV) that they may be coming back slowly but surely. We still have quite a few here as I clean mostly with spray disinfecting cleanser and a cloth. I have plenty of cleanser and cloths. When I gather enough, I just throw a load in the washer. DH uses the Clorox wipes to do the little things and he's very good at it.
I need to go do some more rearranging in the garage. Tonight is our trash night and I have quite a bit I need to add to. I am pitching the porch plant as it is at the end of its life and I will dump the plants and dirt into the tree line and pitch the pot. Next week I will need to do the patio plants the same way.

Sue so happy that your trip to Costco was beneficial. I love stuffed peppers. The only made up ones I've ever had are Stoufers. Normally I make my own. I bet the Costco ones are good. Will have to see if BJ's makes them when I go. I shall put that on the list LOL.
I finished my book and now will scout around for a new read.
Signing off until tomorrow. Enjoy the evening all.

Hey, i enjoyed reading all the posts today. Sue, 25 lbs is no small fear and even more impress is keeping the weight off. Glad you had a good trip to Costco. The stuffed peppers sounded yummy. I make them too. I love stuffed cabbage too. Is the George Foreman grill big? I have a Cuisinart panini maker grill so maybe that is similar. It has features as a grill or sandwich machine.
Ann, I hope you had lots of playing in your head today. You are such a contented person with a great outlook!
Have a good night all.

Hello all, I was lazy this morning and by the time I was ready to walk, it was almost time for the HH nurse to come, so I hung around and did some chores. While she was still here, the pest control guy came to spray the house. They both left around the same time. We had an early lunch and set out about 11:30. After I dropped DH off, I went to the little park nearby and walked a little over a mile. It was 91 out, so that was all I could do. I headed to Walmart and walked the inside perimeter of the store to get a few more steps in. At least it was in AC and actually quite nice near the refrigerated section, lol. I picked up the couple of items I needed and also found 2 $5 tshirts in good fall colors. I told DH his hyperbaric tx are going to be hard on the bank account if I go shopping every day. I spent the rest of my time in the waiting room, thankfully alone, playing WWF on my iPad. Breakfast today was muesli and yogurt, lunch was steamed okra and leftover jambalaya from last night. My dinner will be leftover ribs and potato salad, while DH will have jambalaya, since he had ribs and potato salad for lunch yesterday. We have a little corn, California mixed veggies, smothered okra & tomatoes and coleslaw to round out our meals. The end result will be a refrigerator cleaned out of leftovers. Sue and Ann, you are both doing terrific on weight management. Judy and I will get there yet! I saw a number on the scale this morning that I haven't seen since June 2018. That really gave me a boost! I had been craving ice cream every time I passed by a Sonic and made myself keep driving. Instead, last night I indulged in a small cup of Bluebell that we had in the freezer. Still pointy, but better than the huge cone or Sonic Blast (same as a DQ blizzard) I had contemplated. This morning, I felt so good about it. I really, REALLY want to get back to goal weight before the holiday season. Another fan of potatoes here! Like Judy, the best part of a steak dinner for me is the baked potato. I like sweet potatoes baked in the oven at 450 degrees for 20 minutes and then at 350 until done, usually another 40 minutes or so. The high temp caramelizes the sugar in them and greatly enhances the flavor over the microwave method. I am guessing the instant pot may do the same? Ann - You truly witnessed a miracle today!!! I don't even go down the aisle with Clorox wipes anymore, but I guess I will have to start. Keep a watch on the hornet sting as they can sometimes get infected. Ask me how I know... I had one on my back between the shoulder blades that started swelling and developing a large red spot. DH drew a circle around it and when it exceeded the circle, I headed to the doctor. Judy - I hope DD's attorney gets on the ball. She doesn't deserve to wonder where her next $$ is coming from. Your casserole sounds like something we would enjoy. Do you use any particular brand of lf cheese? When I used it in the past, it never seemed to melt, so I gave up on it. I have found you can cut the butter in most recipes in half without adversely affecting anything. Sue - When DH worked away from home, I made good use of my George Foreman grill. Now he uses ours pretty regularly, so I don't. I took it to the camp, but don't use it there either, lol. Hopefully, someone will want your grille and you won't have to store it all winter. DD has had great luck selling things on CraigsList and other sites. We have at least 3 local resale sites on fb, too. 25 lbs. is NOT paltry! Pick up a 25 lbs. bag of pet food or something and remember you were carrying that around on your body every minute of every day. Thanks for the reminder about stuffed peppers. I may pull some out of the freezer for a meal in the next few days. DH is putting the news on, so I think I will go for a short walk and try to hit my step goal for the day. The temp has dropped to 90, so it should .
