Friday--Day One of my 10 Day DING! Challenge: I decided to have a 10 day Challenge since I am starting to flap around on the ground somewhat. The smoke went away so Hooray for that! I need to paint outside fairly soon before the day time temps drop so today I worked on the big front deck. I worked on this deck before so today I did a thorough cleaning. Decluttered as much as I could since I don't want to have to clean things that have no use. I decided to paint the deck railing and slats etc. which is a big job for me since painting is low on my list of fun activities. Then I decided to paint the top railing and just touch up the slats which cut way down on my need to be perfect and also the time to get it done. Another Hooray! It looks so much better. Tomorrow I will paint the front part at the bottom of the deck. I am hoping to deal with the hard water spots on the windows supposedly Dawn detergent and baking soda is the answer--we will see. Also changed the dogs swimming pool water. There was a cute frog in there so I put it in a glass and then put it back in its happy home. Dusted and kept picked up in the house. Did all the usual dog and bird things. And finished my tree watering cycle.
The deck took a long time so that was all I got done for the day. However Day one of my Challenge was a definite success! DING--Do It Now Girl!

Saturday--Day Two of my 10 Day DING! Challenge:
Success!!! I got the painting done that I had scheduled for today. It took most of the day since I had to crawl around and through bushes to get it prepped, cleaned and then painted. Also Clair was intent on crawling under the deck so she could get stuck so I had to erect temporary fencing to keep her out while I painted. Tomorrow I will look for missed spots and then paint the buckboard which should not take nearly as long as today. Also helped DH get his quad seat re-covered.
I am going to make myself wash windows also. I have over half of them done however I don't want to deal with the water spot problem so I am dragging my feet on this chore. I will overcome!
Today is another successful day and I know that deciding to do this Challenge is what added the enthusiasm I need to carry on. DING! Do it now Girl!

Good Morning,
You are going great with your many jobs, household chores, EMP, hoses, etc. The dog collars sound beautiful!
Speaking of painting, I did not do the concrete patio painting while DH was up doing the cabin porch painting (which he did excellent job on btw, looks amazing) because the patio is no longer getting any sunshine and was remained wet, all day, even though we had 70degree plus days, from nighttime dew, like pools of water. SO I told DH I'd not done and felt it would need to wait until next spring. Had my dentist appointment, did print test job, packed my stuff and went to my moms house, 2.5 hour drive away. Dropped a load of stuff at cabin, proceeded from there. DH went ahead and proceeded with painting, which he does realize was a mistake, that night, Thursday, it's still not dry, and now we have rain. I'm not getting worked up about this, worst case scenario is he has to pressure wash it all off.
I helped mom with her fall/winter put away process. She is the ultimate FlyLady/Organized person. She has a system/way to do everthing to preserve her rattan furniture, cusions, keep things from blowing covers off etc. and though not difficult, it's hard for her wrangle everything on her own, she's 88 years old. She had everything ready to roll, I just followed directions, and it's all done to her liking. We played multiple games of Rummikube (sp), watched T.V., ate w well, and I baked two loaves of sourdough sandwich bread yesterday, left one, brought one home, and left her with a little bit of sourdough starter if she wanted to try it herself. We had a lovely time together.
I showed her the 12 days of Christmas test prints and artwork. We agreed what was the best result, which is to cut and tape a physical original with the original artwork, font, etc, then reduce and make photocopies onto the sandy/flecked paper I will work on assembling these today and see if I can get to the print shop to get a final results worked through today.
This MOrning TaDas: -washed sinkful hand wash -put away previous counterful handwash -loaded DW, ran it -put a blanket away -unpacked my travel bag, put it away
Craft Goals To Work on: -12 Days of Christmas Cards -cut the VIctorian houses from the piece of wood, paint them. -proceed through finishing the Christmas Puzzles, I have to make these, the boxes for them are already done!

Sunday - Day Three of my 10 Day DING! Challenge:
I did get the windows washed, screens and tracks taken care of for the rest of the house. I tried the Dawn detergent and white vinegar in equal parts put on with a sponge on those two windows that had such bad water spots and they turned out almost perfect!
The wildfire smoke wifted in so I decided to stay indoors as much as possible since I am just now no longer coughing etc with lungs hurting on and on. I worked in my office getting it organized and lots of stuff put away. Now it looks so much better! Also did a mini Home Blessing. The dust is crazy bad here.
I organized DH to repair two drip system problems, get the flat tire off of the little trailer I need operational for when I start going around the perimeter of the property cutting back bushes that are starting to reduce the fire break. Also he got the part that is broken off the drip system so he can take that into town to get another one--along with the tire to the repair shop.
Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to work outside to finish the painting. If not I will get the steam mop etc out of the box, figure it out, then do the K (for many hours) and also do the touch up painting in the office etc.
Z, So glad you had a nice visit with your DM. Love!!! the avatar. Hope you are having a great evening!!!

Good MOrning,
WHere did you learn about the Dawn Detergent and white vinegar mixture? WOuld this work on shower door hard water stains as well do you think? You remain as productive as usual despite the smoke.
AVATAR: 2 Turtle Doves
This is post # 2 edited version:
Home TaDas: -bed made -laundry rebooted x1
Craft TaDas: - 12 victorian ornamens base painted red plus 6 HObby Lobby round ones. -12 Days of Christmas, edited version, it will be worth while to have editing help with these, but I need to get the layouts done so the scanned cropped images can just be plunked in at the correct size. Once done, I will need a physical copy of each, on white, from which to run copies off. The reason for this is when you send a print job electronically to the copier, from a scan, using anything other than white paper, it leaves 1/16" to 1/8" weird border on non white paper. The old printer place told me (cause this happened, and it had never happened before) there was nothing to be done about that. Well there is, it means you need to lay the master on the glass of the copier, and copy quantities the old fashioned way. When this is done, you have a clean copy, no weird unshaded border looking thing. Now, I know this is true, based on my Friday tests as the copies I ran laying on glass compared to what hat they printed from sending digitally to the copier, did not have that weird border. I'm sure the old printer location just didn't want to bother standing there, physically laying the masters and running the quantities, when you can do everything so much faster from a scan, send, print mode. I will be able to verify all of this for certain, today, when I drop my job off with instructions. Two years ago, I was not able to discern what the old printers were doing that was causing that border, but now that I've seen it again I understand it! Can you believe this is the edited version?...lol!
I did not get much done yesterday because I ended up with stomach upset that lasted all late afternoon, evening, till 5:30 AM this morning. I think reflux. So I am better today.

Z, The avatar is fantastic! I did not hear about the mixture I looked it up on YouTube by putting in the Google--How to remove hard water spots from glass or something like that. So I bought the Dawn and mixed equal parts of that and white vinegar in a pan, used a sponge and applied it. Then I washed it off. It worked for the windows, not sure about the shower doors yet. It is so slippery I think I will try the lemon and baking soda treatment to see it that works before I do the Dawn one. Also I applied it twice to those windows and the second time I used the scrubby side of the sponge on them. Monday - Day four of my 10 Day DING! Challenge Ended up on the ground slightly flapping around due to wildfire headed in our direction. It's so distracting and stressful. Also need to spend plenty of time on facebook paying attention to what is going on since things change fast and I wanted to make sure I wasn't supposed to be getting ready to evacuate. The noise from the fire retardant planes help the most--the louder the closer the fire is or if they can be seen it's time to get ready to leave. However I did manage to get some things done and thankfullly no wind today! I got all the touch up painting on the basic walls done. This painting thing makes me kind of crazy since it is just takes so much time to get done. This was on my list for today. Cleaned the house in all the areas that needed it. Did a load of laundry. Mended a dog toy. Did all the dog and bird chores. The squirrels got under the house again so we set three traps down there on Sunday. When I went to inspect they had eaten all the food--kind of a buffet thing. So I cleaned that up, got the traps and the bricks upstairs. On and On.... Got two traps set in near there active hole outside. Hopefully I can catch them and relocate to their new happy home along with a supply of food to get them going.
I think the quad repairman is related to the printer employees you wrote about. Sigh.... Had to deal with him today on the phone. Hopefully he will fix my quad correctly when he shows up to fix the tractor. I did not discuss it today as I did not want to come across to him in the way I felt about this situation.
BTW, I watched a 1940s version of Pride and Prejudice the other night. Just two hours so that fit into my schedule. Well it took me two nights to watch it but I am always happy watching any version of it.
A 747 fire retardant plane just flew very low overhead--that is one big plane. Hope you are having a fun day crafting!!!

Good MOrning,
Yikes, I hope that fire stays FAR away from you and they get it under control!!! I'm sure it's hard to concentrate on anything. I know I wouldn't be able to! I think I've seen that older version of P&P. What did find it on? NEtflix, Amazon Prime? Hoping the quad repair can get done the right way., Stay safe!

Home: -DH put most of the laundry away, which was great. I think he gets bored, so that is done. -DH bought a fan and has it set, constantly blowing on the lower concrete patio in attempt to help the drying on that painting fiasco. I think it's helping, that patio will never look perfect and although the paint job is screwed up, obviously, in a strange way it looks better than it did before. THere is nothing else to be done about this year, it's on the south side of house getting no sun, even on 70 degree days, which is about as warm as it's going to get here moving forward, it's just not enough to even think about doing anything else out there. -I cooked a meal last night (trying to cook more) -returned $55.00 of unused/unopened product to Ace Hardware, also recently I found and returned a hose that we didn't need to Home Depot. -ordered DD's senior portraits -ordered DD's school year book and AP Exams this morning. Still need to submit the photo. Her favorite photo is not mine, I rolled with it, good job me.
Craft: -stopped in the old print place and got the card stock I needed for the 12 Days Card sets and left! -dropped my originals off at new place, after e-mailing the layouts, and discussed with the gal what was needed, had the good and bad examples to show her. Asked her if she can determine what makes that weird border (tho I think I know) to let me know so I can include that in future print order instructions, left samples with her, I feel encouraged. If sell three card sets that will pay for the editing charges. -Victorian Houses, hmmm...these are not coming out as cute as intended, they were messy, just looked poorly done. SO much so I ended up doing and abstract, patterns on them, geometric, dots, lines, etc on one side of the remaining ones, after I'd done 4. This I loved doing and they looked super cute. But, I'm going to try a couple changes with house design today and use some acrylic extender, and sealer, first to see if it goes better, paint goes on better. I might still be able to offer these as the white geometric designs on the red is quite eye catching, I love them. IF I can make the Victorian House side look better, It could be two ornaments in one, "Old World meets Modern Day" Victorian house on one side, abstract on the other. But not if the Victorian house fronts continue to look too Kindergarten craft-like, I'll just give them to my sister and not list them. Funny how a cute idea can end up not so cute? I think the designs need a couple more embellishments and then need transferred to the piece, and then painted. More steps, but necessary if they are to look decently done enough for someone to buy. Thanks for listening to that.

Day Five of my 10 Day DING! Challenge: I just worked on cleaning areas that needed spring cleaning, cleaned more light fixtures, painted around one of them, got two loads of laundry done, trash to gates, decluttered the following useless items: 5 squirrel traps, two throw pillows, a bird bath. Cleaned the master bath thoroughly. Got my mixtures ready to try the lemon method of getting rid of hard water spots but ran out of time so I just set them to the side until tomorrow. I was busy most of the day. Things just keep getting cleaner! I especially love the windows being clean. I am awfully tired--due I am sure to being on pins and needles about that fire. The fire ran into a burn scar from the fire in our valley earlier this summer and came to a halt and then headed in a different direction. Right now it is 70% contained and I am able to go outside again without gasping for air. Possibly tomorrow I will be able to go outside and finish the painting project.
I need to call the carpet cleaner but want to get the K floor steam cleaned myself. I am waiting to call because if the K floor needs to be done by them I want to make sure they will be able to do it. Otherwise just the carpeting will be done.
Z, Great job doing the returns! and good luck with the new place. The avatar is lovely!!! You have become so professional and knowledgeable--it is truly impressive .
Affirmation I use: Stay the same or lose!

Wednesday - Day 6 of my Ten Day DING! Challenge:
Busy day for me. Had DH help me with a cleaning project. Then I spent most of the day organizing, cleaning, decluttering. I finished up the outside painting project that I was working on.
The Quad repairman is here and does not seem to understand that I want my quad repaired. It's all very strange. I explained to DH that it will be fine for me to buy a new quad but I prefer to get the one I have repaired. We went out and had another conference with him. I explained that I did not want to run over the dog, he said that was "fair enough". So possibly he will do as asked. Strange but true.....
Maybe one of my car tires is going flat. I better have a conference with DH about that before I forget.
Tomorrow I am going to try the lemon etc treatment on the hard water spots for sure and also spend some time outside on EMP, smoke permitting. Catching up is a lot of work when combined with the yard chores. I will overcome!
Hope you had a great day!!!
