Pam sounds like you had another busy day. I could so picture you sitting under a tree enjoying a snack and a nice breeze. Happy that your temperature is going to drop. Your meals sound great. Unfortunately whenever I make chicken parm it never tastes the same as when we enjoy it out. I must try my hand at it again as it's going to be a LONG TIME before we hit our favorite Italian restaurant. I've never read Jodi Picoult, but lots of my friends so enjoy her.
Yes our area is very rural. We've seen many fox, coyotes, fisher cats, black bear, and once we had a moose on our front lawn. Racoon are also in the area. We need to be very careful which is why now that it gets darker earlier, we plan our final walk around that.
I slept very well once again and woke up to a great 52 degrees. The afghan felt good. Today we will hit Hannaford's and pick up all we need. We'll go late morning early afternoon as it's less crowded then. Once again we were not able to use the screen room. All we do is open the door when the house gets stuffy. LuLa likes to go out there and nap under the table LOL.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! Yep, I had to check my computer to see what day it was. Earlier this morning, Dh was talking to me (while I was sleeping) and I remember telling him to stop because it was Saturday (for whatever difference that made LOL) and he told me it was Thursday. Oh well ....
Now we have had our breakfast of fresh fruit and Egg McMuffin (homemade) and he is off on his appointed rounds. He was excited about driving his truck today because he said last night on the way home from the repair shop it drove entirely differently. I am happy for him. Now if he can just get the water pump either replaced or repaired, we can breathe easily for a while.
Ann ~ I am also going shopping late morning/early afternoon - which means I should get moving. I only have a short list so it won't take long. But I need turkey sausage for tonight's supper. You DO live in a rural area. We do as well and have seen deer playing in our front yard (by the tree line) and a fox only once and a cougar a few times. But I enjoy the birds and squirrels mostly.
Pam ~ You would absolutely love our weather right now! We even have sunshine this morning but very cool indeed. We had a rain overnight and though I remembered to cover up the fire pit, I forgot to fold up my chair which is cloth and got soaked! <LOL>
Judy ~ I hope things are going well for you today. Did you mean NEXT May when you plan to have your new house finished?? That would be the one to replace the one at the Cape, right??
I am glad we went and got our flu shots last evening. That is another thing off our list. DH asked me to look for some more Emergen-C (which seems to be in short supply) so I found it on Amazon (though much pricier than previously) and did some $$ magic by transferring some money from my Visa card to my Amazon gift card and then paying with the gift card - AND received a $10 bonus for doing that. That actually brought the price down to what it used to be. Win-Win!
Time for me to go. BBL. Make a great day!!

LOL Sue...this place is so much different from Worcester the 'big city' where I was born and bred. It's not longer the Worcester that I remember, so it was time to leave. Now I no longer go back there. I switched all my doctors and even left dear Enzo as I just can't stomach seeing the changes. The small close knit Italian neighborhood that I knew and loved is totally destroyed. School neighborhood shops my church and the Shrewsbury Street that I knew and loved is all foreign to me now. My memories remain in my heart only. When we first moved here it was 'culture shock' for sure. One thing that I DO miss is the fact that we have very little sidewalks in town. So, other than walking in our retirement community the only other walking I get is when we shop or when I house walk. One good thing about this town, though, is that everything is very close by. In Worcester it took us a half hour to cross the city to get to anyplace where we needed to go. Here, it's just down the street or up the road LOL. After being here 13 years it's home In a perfect world, I would have taken our home we left and placed it here....I so miss it. Nice that DH is happy with the truck repairs. Once the water pump is done it'll all be behind you. That's a great feeling As always your breakfast sounds good. My day is planned and tracked. I had oatmeal again for breakfast, lunch will be the lo chili from last night and supper when I shop I'm picking up a chicken that's still on sale, so that will be the main deal and I'll worry about sides later. They also had the Boston pork butt still on sale and Carl will pick one of those up to grind and make into sausage patties. Those take up less room in the freezer than the stuffed variety. Not to mention we have plenty of the cased ones LOL. Happy you covered the fire pit. We keep our patio in the screen room covered at all times. When we sit, I'll go out, uncover it and wipe down the table. Even covered the table top manages to get dusty. That's great that you got a good deal on the Emergen-C via Amazon. I love shopping there...although you DO need to know your prices. Waving....and will CBL

Hi friends,
Good to read all the notes today. I missed yesterday but enjoyed going back to read the posts. Sounds like everyone is doing well and that's good. I've been keeping busy at work and the weather has been delightful. I had my STARS meeting today and it was uplifting as well. I learned some new stress relieving techniques yesterday from my therapist and I'm finding they help.
I'll send along a little private message, too.
Not much else to report for now! I'll bbl.

Judy so happy that you are enjoying the diversion of work therapy and yes...the weather truly IS good. It's a tad warmer today than it was yesterday, but we'll take it Looking forward to the private message. Just got back from shopping. We decided to also hit Walmart as it's in that direction. Now we are all set. I know that Carl wants to hit Ocean State Job Lots, but he can do that solo. He mentioned something or other that he wants to get...then he said it could wait till tomorrow, so I give up LOL. Men.... I was happy to find all on my list with the exception of the light Alfredo sauce and the Hunts fire roasted can tomatoes. They have been MIA for awhile now. Perhaps they are 'hiding out' with the Clorox wipes LOL. Whatever. I can work around those items. Shopping surely does tire me out. Time to take a little siesta. Will BBL

Hi All ~
We have had a beautiful day here. It is quite cool - won't even make it to 70 for the next few days.
I had WW Cabbage Soup for lunch and enjoyed it very much. DH came home but he opted for cottage cheese and peaches. Now he's gone to check on a customer and their cooler.
Ann ~ I have been meaning to thank you (and keep forgetting) for introducing me to Rotel tomatoes!! I honestly had never bought them before, and now they are also a staple in my pantry! I use them all the time, it seems. My cabbage soup would be pretty bland without the can of Rotel I added and gave it just the right amount of zing!
Sorry you can't find the fire roasted tomatoes. It's always something around here. But when I see something I would like to use (even if it isn't right away) I grab it and put it on the shelf. Better to buy it when it is available than vice versa.
Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hi again,
Sue, how do you make your cabbage soup? I'm a big fan of Rotel, too. Spicier the better usually unless it is just TOO spicy.

I wish I could eat cabbage. Only way I can is raw in coleslaw. Cooked it bothers my tummy. I remember 'back in the day' the ol' cabbage soup diet that was 'all the rage'. I was always envious of that LOL.
I buy rotel tomatoes at BJ's by the case. I don't get there that often as I no longer attend weight watcher meetings in Leominster, so when I do get there, I pick up 2 cases at a time LOL. I also get my fire toasted tomatoes there, but unfortunately last two times they were all out of them and also Hannaford's and our Walmart didn't have them either. When I go again, and I see them, I will most definitely 'stock up'. The only place that I can get the HOT rotel tomatoes is at our Walmart. Now, when I make my soup, I add one can of regular rotel and one can of hot and a can of the fire roasted tomatoes to my low sodium beef broth and go from there.....I have a nice 'stash' of the HOT rotel in the cupboard so I'm all set there.
I took a little cat nap and feel more rested. There is a change in plans for supper. We were going to have beer can chicken on the grille, but by the time we got home from shopping and put it all away and walked LuLa it was later than normal when we had lunch. Neither one of us are hungry for a big meal. While coffee was brewing, I opened up a can of chicken backed in water and mixed that up for chicken salad sandwiches. I have a cucumber and tomato salad in the fridge and we have chips and pickles to go with it. Quick and easy. The chicken can wait till tomorrow.

Hi Judy .....
I used 1 lb of ground turkey breast - 16 oz. chopped cabbage & carrots - 1 can diced tomatoes - 1 can Rotel tomatoes - 2 cans FF beef broth - 1/2 c. diced onion
I browned the turkey & onion in my IP then added the cabbage & carrots - then poured the broth down the sides. Cooked on high pressure for 10 minutes, then natural release 5 minutes..
This can also be done in a crock pot or on the stove. It came out to 0 SP (I'm also on Blue)
The Rotel tomatoes added just enough spice!

Ann ~ I have done a lot of switching menus this week. Must be the time, eh?? We are finally having our Strawberry Waffles tonight. DH has a fire laid which he would like to light and enjoy after supper and before a show he wants to watch. We have all the ingredients to make S'Mores tonight!! I had graham crackers and bought marshmallows and Hershey mini-bars today at the store.

Good evening!
Instead of my usual morning walk, I got myself up and into town, hoping to get the car serviced quickly, but no such luck. I waited for 3 hours and then had to hurriedly grab lunch before it was time to leave for hyperbaric.
I hung around the waiting room for my DBIL to come and pick up keys to the camp. His younger son called yesterday to ask if he could stay at the camp this weekend, since his parents' camper is hauled to higher ground and unavailable. I was happy to say yes, as I always feel better if someone is there at least occasionally to ward off any vandals. DBIL will need to stay there next week for a couple of nights while checking on his DSIS in the NH. He told me they are not anxious to move the camper back just now, with 3 more storms churning out there and one already in the Gulf of Mexico. We chatted for quite a while and may have lunch one day next week as he plans to be in the area.
When we got home, I watered potted plants both indoors and outdoors and picked okra. Since we still have plenty, I brought it to our neighbors who house-sit for us. She was excited to get it as she plans to make gumbo when the cool front comes through. We chatted for a bit, which was good. We have become so isolated since CV.
I missed breakfast, so had a sizeable lunch of leftover pork chop, oven-fried okra and beets. Dinner was our version of taco salad with lots of extra vegetables. We saved the leftover veggies and DH will make us a stir fry for dinner tomorrow. It cooks quickly, so he won't be on his feet long.
Time to read a bit before bed. Sweet dreams all!
