WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

140 on home scale this morning. I wonder if the lower purple points is partially responsible or maybe the additional steps. Time will tell <g>.

Checking in to let you know I havenโt disappeared off the face of the earth. Weโre heading out soon to a restaurant Iโve been wanting to try. Will be nice to spend time with friends but keeping my fingers crossed that politics donโt come up.
Nancy, I would bet the half pound is from counting points. Combining points and calories was how I lost my weight in 2019.

Checking in.....it was a great day. Started with scale all time low, 128 average weight was 129. Followed by having friends over on deck, then an enjoyable shopping trip with one of them. Treated myself to a new lightweight quilt jacket, some warmer leggins and cozy, comfy tops. A lot of my jeans are too baggy so Iโm going with inexpensive leggins for now....
Nancy, I think if the points help you make the healthier choices that will be the best way to go...and the healthier you eat the scale will notice. Example, 100 calorie pk of cookies vs 100 calorie Apple will make a Hugh difference....
Jan, I would love to see a picture of your outside fireplace. if itโs not too much trouble could you message me, send email or put on Facebook? Let me know how you like it! Would love to extend deck time!!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Jan - I was heartbroken, though not surprised, at RBG's passing. What a loss for our country and what a mess will occur as a result. Interesting that calories/points worked for you. Something new for me to work on. Hoping your dinner was pleasant and politics-free. Lori - I didn't think of an apple vs a bag of cookies. You're right of course. This afternoon I had a bowl of home made chicken soup. I usually use and planned for 25 grams of noodles for 2 points but I was at the end of the bag, ie 14 grams for one point. Normally I would have found a ww mini bar to fill in the calories but that would have added 2 points, so I had an ounce of chicken instead - similar calories but no points. 128? Are you kidding? How do you explain it? You must have flipped when you saw the scale this morning.
