Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Had a good night sleep. I did wake up at 1am, but put on my sleep podcast and slept through until 6. More than 4 hours is good lately.
Reorganizing kitchen cupboards today. I have too many dishes, glassware, even acrylic glasses and Iām putting some in the charity box. I called and scheduled another Amvets pickup. They will be in my area on Nov 10, 6 weeks away. Thinning out pots and pans too. I have newer ones but keep using the old ones, do they are getting tossed. And itās time to go through the spices. Duplicates and expired ones getting tossed. Hmmmm! I guess I do have energy today.
Work went well yesterday. People are still carrying around too much cash, had a few cash transactions that were close to $10,000 each. I canāt wait for the customer to leave do I can drop that money in the safe. My cash drawer never has more than $1,000 - my rule. Sometimes when I first get to work there is over $5,000 in drawer. I have the day cashier count and drop the excess in the safe.
Dottie - you accomplished a lot over the weekend. I think with the upcoming pickup Iāll thin out my clothes more too. I would like only having one or 2 bins of seasonal clothes, probably have 5 or 6 now and I know I donāt wear most of them. I think I might do some clothes purging tomorrow.
They are ordering us 3 tops with dealership logo, itās been a while since they did that. I picked mine out last night. Iāll get a dark gray, a black cardigan, and a navy blue one. So I can get rid of more āwork clothesā too.
Ruth - wow, thatās a lot of bathroom runs. Stan should at least do a virtual visit with his doctor. Since Iām definitely more of a Bills fan Iām thrilled with the past 2 games, now we just have to keep that up. I have a couple of troll dolls that are dressed in Bills gear, they āwatchā the games with me. Yep, Iām still a little kid inside.
Martha - I agree that itās easier to have meals prepared so that you can just grab n go. I need to get back to doing that.
I just found out that my snow plow guy is moving, I have to look for someone new. Bummer, I really liked working with him. Heās going to recommend another company, Iām looking for more options too. Always something.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, hope you can find a new company for the snow plowing soon. Our first snow has been in October a few times. I am amazed at how much cash people carry around, not Bill and I. That is nice that the company is getting you tops for work.
Ruth, hope you slept better last night. I hope Stan will get to a doctor soon. I have found the two in person doctor visits I went to there were many precautions in place. I find the cleaning and social distancing much better than in a store. Also when I was doing PT, the same thing, many precautions in place. Is Stan doing PT for his knees? Hope you were able to get rid of the cars for DS and DIL.
Martha, my daffodils had spread so much that I needed to do something about them. I have had the original set for over 30 years. My sons went to the common area behind the houses across the street from us when they were on spring break at the ages of 9 and 11) and found 2 pots of daffodils that someone had gotten rid of. They brought them home and we planted them. In spring Bill helped me dig them up so I could separate the bulbs, there were way over 300 bulbs. I gave some to both sons, DS#1 has a real deer problem at his house and he said that the deer seem to love the daffodil plants. Hope work is going okay for you.
Last night was my night not to sleep good. I did sleep till 8 this morning but didnāt fall asleep till after 3, UGH!!! It was cool this morning but is already in the upper 60s and a lot of sunshine. I did several loads of L and made a soup. It isnāt finished yet so I guess I wonāt have that for lunch. We are having BLTs tonight for dinner. We have several nice size tomatoes that I picked yesterday and lots of cherry tomatoes. I have a recipe that calls for cherry tomatoes so I will use them up later this week.

G'morning! I hit the ground running this morning, when I go to work. Supervisor over me asked me yesterday if I could do some scanning for her. Seventeen files later, I'm done. Had to watch out for 2-sided copies and staples. I temporarily misplaced a portion of one (oops!) so I redid the one file. I'll explain to her my goof.
Joyce - Reaching for the old reliables, why not?! After Dad died I went thru the spices and bulk items. Any that had his handwriting on, got trashed. I agree on keeping your drawer to a certain max amount. That's nice that the dealership is getting 'uniform' shirts. Good luck with finding a new snow plow person.
Dottie - I (should say DH) have moved some of the daffodils around. The irises, are another story. We have a white picket fence between us and neighbor, the irises line most of the fence.
Ruth - Waving HI!
Break over.....
Hugs~

Good evening all. Joy, why does it seem when you find someone you like, a doctor, dentist, yard guy, snow removal, whatever; they move or retire!!! Frustrating. Hope you can find a new snow guy you like. This one has been great for you. Nice that work is getting you tops. DSās work gave them poloās with the company logo. They didnāt the first couple years he was there; but the next 13 or so they did; and they got him new ones when the sizes changed or the shirts wore out. Sometimes they were a nice fabric; one time not so much!!! I think we all have too many dishes and other things in our cabinets. I know there is stuff in our china cabinet in the dining room that could go.
Dottie, Iāve tried to get Stan to contact the drās office; but I think heās maybe afraid what he might hear. Heāll probably get sent back to the urologist. Iād like him to start watching his fluid intake in the evening and how much he snacks. I think both his stomach and bladder are working overtime and making him so fidgety in bed. He bed is just a mess most mornings with bottom sheet coming off and top sheet and blanket all over the place. Last night was not a good night for me. I was fine when I went to bed. Woke up about 12:30 am with such bad heartburn I thought I was going to be sick. Burned like Iāve only had it once before and that was when we had some bad refried beans that caused food poisoning. I never did get sick; but wished I could have. Was up for about an hour and finally went back to bed and sleep. I had the head of the bed elevated from the first; so wasnāt like I was laying flat to cause it. Still have it tonight. Have really watched what I ate today and I have no clue what caused it. And Iām pretty sure thatās not a covid symptom!!! I donāt think I had anything bad yesterday, but who knows. I ended up sleeping until about 9:45 I was so exhausted from the couple nights before.
Iām almost done with the blue hat Iām making for Carol. BTW, she got scan results back this morning. The lung spot is much smaller; the tumor in her throat is about the same; so she will continue with chemo until she has a bad scan. This is all so hard on her body. And her teeth are bad from the chemo and the radiation. Sheās so tired all the time and sleeps a lot of days for multiple hours. I wish there was something I could do to help, but Iām not even comfortable going to Indiana. Iād feel awful if I exposed them to something; and likewise, I donāt want to be exposed to anything.
Martha, do you enjoy the scanning? I think DS did a lot of that at his job. In addition to printing and mailing out the engineering jobs for quotes. Right now, I think heād like to be back in that job, even if he was tired of it. Oh well.
Ok, going to get going. Want to finish that hat and maybe start the other one. And planning on an early bedtime again tonight. Hope I wake up feeling better tomorrow!!
