Ann, it seems like yesterday that we were all complaining about horrible heat. Why canโt we just have a season with temperatures in the 60s?
June yesterday the man in charge of the Fresno State program sent us lecture notes from the music professor for this weekโs lecture as well as next weeks. I thought it would be a one or two page handout but it turned out to be 57 pages so I decided not to print them and just do what I did this past week which was listen and take my own notes as I wanted. I always take notes to keep engaged and not be distracted.

Susi hope the dinner is a fun time. Sure sounds it. 30 years with a company is a milestone. I'm sure he deserved it Love the picture! I just got back from a hood walk. It's pretty nice out there. Temperature is 67 but in the sun it feels warmer that that. I'll walk again but not till the sun sets.
Audrey I'm with you with the temperature. I love any weather between 40 to 60. That to me would be ideal
Holy smokes, I don't blame you for not printing that 57 page booklet! People used to always laugh whenever I was at a lecture or meeting and took notes. I guess that's just the way I also operate.
Time for lunch.

Cathy, I disagree with your sister.Sure common sense would say if you had five errands and weโre exposed to people of five different stores it would great in your exposure to Covid if anyone was contaminated. However if you do those five errands on five separate days you will have the same exposure to people at those five different places.Shopping in two stores does not lower your resistance for shopping in the third fourth or fifth so my feeling is to just go out less frequently and try to get as much done as possible to save gas and to just be at home.

I just spent the last 45 minutes chatting with a friend. It was nice to catch up on her and her family. We used to work together when I was at the newspaper.
We never did get to do the grocery shopping. One thing led to another and it ate up too much of our day. Either Carl will do it tomorrow solo or we'll go on Friday. I don't need anything right away but don't want to deal with shopping on a weekend!
Our town is small, so whenever we stick 'close to home' we will hit everything at once. It's just easier for us to make ONE TRIP rather than going back and forth. Even when we go to BJ's we will go there and the liquor store (or as we call it the 'packie') for our wine. Carl will also hit Harbor Freight. While he's in there I gladly sit in the car and read.

I had to return to the Market today because the rotisserie chickens werenโt ready when I bought my other items early yesterday morning. Bob still goes to the office so thatโs why we were always shopping Saturday and he will go to nearby Savemart Sunday. At least we now limit Trader Joeโs to twice a month. The new store is farther away than the old one and grocery shopping seems to take forever on Saturday. Tomorrow Iโm going to a neighborโs at 4 for a glass of wine. Her youngest daughter and 2 grandsons are here before they move to Hawaii. Her Marine husband has finally located a house for them

I made the minestrone soup with the root veggies, except for rutabaga and celery. It was very good. I will do that again. Have enough root veggies to do another one next week, as we have a cold front coming through.

Glad the soup came out good, Bee. Nothing like soup in the cool weather. Unless you're like me. I eat soup even when it's 90 in the shade LOL.
Audrey I wish we had a TJ's near us. Whenever Carl goes into Worcester he stops there and picks up what we normally use. He will still make the trip in to get his haircut from his barber. He'll also do a 'wine run' on the way home. Enjoy your glass of wine with your neighbor. Nice that her husband located a home for them in Hawaii. That's such a beautiful island.

Ann We also ended up going to Walmart again because Kenneth wanted to buy oil for his truck so our neighbor can change the oil when he gets a chance.I was tired by time I left there.
Cathy Yes the scale will go down again.I'm not sure I totally agree on making shorter more frequent trips.Usually if we go to more than one store it's our chain grocery store and Walmart. They sanitize the carts at both stores, everyone is wearing a face mask and they both have hand sanitizer at the door entering and leaving(at HEB anyway). If I have gone to PT first they take my temp upon entering and everyone wears a mask for the entire hour.Hopefully the plumber/electrician can figure out something.I had a grilled pork chop, carrots and corn.Kenneth doesn't have to watch what he eats so he always gets the chicken fried steak which covers the whole platter.
Ann Glad you slept well again. I woke up at 3:00 to go to the bathroom and I must have passed out.Neither one of us woke up until 7:00 when Kenneth's friend called.
Bee Continued prayers and cyber hugs for you as you go through this journey. We will be there for you.Joy Unspeakable is a great song to have in your head.

Thanks for the good wishes Susi. PT went pretty well although sore afterwards.Enjoy your dinner out.Yes Andie does deserve a retirement dinner. My DH was with his company for 39 years before he had to go out on disability because of his stroke. After he got back on his feet after a few months they gave him a really nice retirement party at his job.The head boss thanked me for putting up with the long hours he had to work.
Audrey I agree on a season in the 60's.Monday our high was only 68 and the last 2 days in the mid 70's but it's been cloudy. If the sun comes out tomorrow it's still only supposed to get up to 85 but by the weekend low 90's.That is still better than the 100's.Enjoy the wine at your neighbors.
Bee Are you getting any more rain from Beta? It's out of Texas and I heard it was going towards LA and MS.We are supposed to be dry next week but they did say cooler than normal so hopefully we will get a cool front also.
