QOTD: What are some favorite fall foods you are looking forward to?
AOTD: I have already bought several cans of organic pumpkin. Like Geri, I am going to Aldi's tomorrow to pick up a good supply of winter squash while it is 69 cents a pound.
Sharon, Yay! for the new haircut. I hope we get to see it tomorrow at the Zoom meeting. Sorry to hear that your DB is having trouble getting around. Continued prayers for Marvin.
Karen E, So sorry for the loss of your friend's DH.

Jane, so sorry to hear about DC Herb.
Sandy, my supplement doesnât include Silver Sneakers but I do get reimbursed up to $150 annually for a gym membership. It would cover Planet Fitness at $10 Mo plus the $29 annual fee but iâd just like to pay the $99 and be done with it.
Gail, I was happy to see that Lisa Jewell has several books. Iâm listening to âWhere the Crawdads Singâ now. Thank you for the inspiration with your 10,000 steps daily. I walked 3,000 steps before I went to DDs and I felt better sitting around after some movement. When I came home I walked another 4,000 at the beach. After dinner I brought the total to 10,716 steps (3.8 mi) in the corridor listening to the Selectmenâs Meeting on my phone. Just love those earbuds. All of the walking has helped my frame of mind, energy level and no more leg pains (circulation). Yay!
Ruth, my favorite veggie is butternut squash. I make a sauce for pasta and love it in soup. It is on sale here for 45c lb. Iâve been waiting for a deal. Iâd like to freeze for when itâs not available. I donât like the peeled, cut product.
Iâve been sleeping 11-7am which is perfect for me. Tomorrow will be a long swim day and a long walk at the beach, listening to my book. It was a bit busy at the beach today. Beautiful weather, big waves for surfing and lots of walking, biking, sunning brought everyone out.
Today I picked up DGD, 3, at school. I commented on her lovely dress and she said âAuntie LaLaâ my DDinLaw bought it. I saidâid like to buy you a surprise this week, what would you like?â She said âIâd like a horse with wings so I can flyâ! I said those are make believe horses but you are going to a birthday party and ride a horse on Sunday. I told her someone would hold her like I do at the Carousel. Is Mom or Dad taking you? âI am going to ride by myselfâ she said âand how about if Mom and Dad go and you mind the twinsâ? Sheâs a great planner! So much fun.
I looked up dates and wow there are about 135 calories and lots of carbs in just two. My shake is about 250 cals. as it is.
Hope everyone has a good night.
Marlo

Sharon, I can feel the love of family in your first post. Prayers for your DB and DS. We'll have to see your new haircut. You did such a good job on yourself. Do you look even 'beautifuller?'
Chuckling about your Naughty Can, Karen E! And I love the idea of the 10 things to encourage you to lose weight and how that is used. I get what you said about 'normal.' It feels so good to go to a 'real' ww meeting.
Talking about healthy eating, my early dinner with my friend was amazing. I tracked what I ate and did not go over my points too badly. It was a 21 point dinner, but I deliberately got up late and had a big (but only 3 point) breakfast. So good to see my friend. We reminisced and could have gone on for many hours more than the over 2.5 that we spent together. We have been friends for almost 40 years, since a couple of years before I met Mort. The only problem is that I ended up getting home after dark. Luckily it got dark as I approached my exit on the highway and I am very familiar with my way back well from there. I have to be more aware of the time as it continues to get dark earlier.
We shared a salad with roasted artichokes. It was made with mixed greens, roasted artichokes, slivers of Romano cheese. There was a dressing but I don't use it. Has anyone here ever roasted artichokes? Delicious! Everything was delicious.
Ruth, thanks for the invite to the zoom meeting tomorrow. I shall be there!

Good luck with those shots, Jane. I know your back has been giving you trouble.
Yay for you with the walking, Marlo! I thought the same thing about the dates. I looked it up and one Medjoul date is 4 sp. That would not be so bad if there were room in your food budget for the day. But more than that would be a problem for me.
Looking forward to seeing some of you at the zoom meeting! Thank you, Ruth!
